Machaca Chilaquiles with over easy eggs con queso and crema
    Denise J.

We love this place the ambiance is great feels like an old school diner feel. In the heat of Eagle Rock my town in LA. We are always happy to see one of the best waitresses around. My husband love the food it was very flavorful and with an every bite he had meat with his eggs. The avocado gave it an extra yum! I had the. Verde Machaca Chilaquiles with over easy eggs with Crema and queso fresco. It was so good everybody in the cafe was asking what my order was and were very impressed how good it looked. it taste as good as it looks. The chili Verde were very delicious, crispy not soggy not crunchy it was just perfect. if you love, Chilaquiles is something you have to order at least once and I'm sure you will order it again and again when you go back all the other food is really good, but this has to be my favorite just so far.

First time here, we were a little hesitant at first because it said it was busy. But they had a walk up counter for to go orders as well. Indoor and out door seating. Greeted right away, staff was more than amazing. Loved the vibe and atmosphere. Coffee and water while we waited for our to go orders. Great menu selections and fair prices. The recommendation we got for the breakfast burritos from the staff did not disappoint. Very clean inside. The food was a great portion and the flavor was even more amazing. Highly recommend and will return. Parking can be tight in this area, expect to walk a little bit, but it's free.

The food was delicious, truly the best chilaquiles i've had so far! The service was okay but it was only one person so it's okay. I did enjoy the fact they had national parks on their wall, it's a cute place and they have outside as well! Definitely a must breakfast place

Great portion of food. Enough for two meals. Marketplace connected to the resturant. 3 doors to come in which all leads you to the restaurant.

See the top left corner that's what I ordered

Had special order - Barbacoa n eggs. The Barbacoa is sooo good! I wish I could finish it. I could take leftover home but I had long drive and being painting the red in the city. My husband had salmon Benedict (special for the weekend). Heard that the chef would make over 200 Benedicts. Every weekend, they will service different Benedicts. That's good convinces for us to come back!!! I would recommend you to check it out! Only my very tiny negative comment is that they should reduce salt on eggs and hash brown. My husband's hash brown is perfect. Still they were so delish.

I seen a foodie post a review of this restaurant on IG so I decided to bring my son and mom here for brunch. I would definitely arrive as early as possible because parking is limited on the street and we waited about an hour to be seated. Thankfully the restaurant provides complimentary water and coffee while you wait so I definitely appreciate that! The host also provided menus before were seated so we could get ahead of the ordering process which I also appreciated. Once we were seated, our drink orders were taken immediately and we placed our order fairly quickly. The service was absolutely phenomenal, our waiter and the host were super friendly and made sure our experience was amazing. I ordered the Egg combo with Applewood Chicken sausage which came with hash browns and sourdough toast. My eggs were cooked perfectly, the sausage had great flavor and the hash browns were perfectly cooked. My son ordered the Pan San which came with 3 huge pancakes topped with strawberries, eggs and hash browns. He absolutely devoured his meal with my help! My mother ordered the grilled Pork Chops which came with hash browns, eggs and toast. She was very satisfied with her combo. I saw they offered fresh baked muffins and I had to try a blueberry muffin and I definitely didn't regret it! The muffin was super moist and the ends had the perfect crisp, definitely one of the best muffins I've had in a long time. The waiter brought it before our meals and he added a lit candle for a sweet touch. Definitely order the muffins! I HIGHLY recommend checking this restaurant out, you will not be disappointed.

Saw a few videos on TikTok so we decided to try it. Food was good. Nothing great. Coffee was decent. 3 stars because our server was super nice! He was awesome and made us feel so welcomed!

This is my second time eating breakfast here. The first time I never made it in the door. This review is of my first time seeing the inside. I was not expecting to see what I saw. Don't worry it's all good and won't hurt their well deserved A rating from the health department. Rockin Egg Cafe is a cozy, intimate diner near the Eagle Rock boundary where Eagle Rock and Highland Park meet. The restaurant caters to the eagle rock community and two nearby communities Highland Park and Glassell. The mix of three different communities immediately draws you in with its charm. The walls are decorated with posters and photos of America's stunning national parks--Zion, Bryce Canyon, Arches, Yellowstone--which struck a personal chord, as I've had the chance to visit each of those places. It felt like a warm welcome from familiar landscapes. If you go out the back door you are presented with a small covered patio dining. Which would be great for a larger group. There is dinning out on the sidewalk as well. Unfortunately the only parking is on the street. Depending on time of day can be competitive. The good is this establishment doesn't charge an egg surcharge or a bill surcharge. Cash and cards are accepted. Through out my journey of going to all breakfast spots within the 90041 zip code. This is the only place that offers a senior discount for 62 year and above. Also if you get breakfast on Wednesday through Friday before 9 am. They have a limited happy hour. I ordered the breakfast burrito, and it was an absolute beast--noticeably larger than the one I had at Pete's Blue Chip. Stuffed with eggs, potatoes, cheese, jalapeños which gave it the right amount of heat and your choice of meat, it was hearty, well-balanced, and satisfying from the first bite to the last. The flavors were solid, and the portion could easily tide you over well past lunchtime. On my way out, I spotted a shelf full of assorted hot sauces--a nice touch for anyone who likes to spice things up. Rockin Egg Cafe offers a great mix of comforting food, friendly service, and personal connection. It's the kind of place that makes you want to linger a little longer.

A seriously delicious breakfast option in sleepy Eagle Rock. There are many breakfast restaurants in Eagle Rock and I would say this is certainly one of the best. They have huge sized portions, fair pricing, and polite staff. They don't have a dedicated parking lot, however street parking is very easy to find in this part of town because the neighborhood behind the restaurant doesn't have permit parking. Most of the seating are outdoor tables however we chose to sit inside for our first visit. Our server was very polite and was very quick with all the refills. They have a very large menu filled with all sorts of classic and unique breakfast options. Eggs Benedict is my favorite breakfast dish so I was very pleased to see that they have a dedicated page in their menu to 8 different Benedicts and there is a constant rotation of seasonal or weekly available Benedict. For my meal, I chose one of the weekend only Benedicts and thought it was fantastic. I chose the Huaraches Benedict and truly loved it. The eggs were cooked perfectly, it was covered in delicious sauce, and the Carne Asada was seasoned perfectly and was a great addition to the dish. The side of hashbrowns was also really good and I prefer them much more than the cheaper home fries other restaurants give you. Overall, I would say this is one of my favorite breakfast spots in Eagle Rock and I plan to be back in the future to try more items. I would suggest to anyone no matter if you have a large or small group, they will be able to make sure you have a great meal.

You can go to a run down old diner in any city, but this is the city of the stars. On this trip even though we were already heading to the establishment it must have been an extra slow day because someone was out on the boulevard trying to direct traffic to the restaurant. About 1/3 of the tables were full when we walked in, and it took a few minutes for us to be seen and seated. The wait staff is perhaps a bit understaffed to really be at their best. Our server did not explain much to us as far as the jukebox at our table, if we could use it and how... it would have been nice to know that. I ordered a Caesar salad and a coffee milkshake. When the server asked me if I wanted a small or large salad I asked what the difference in size was, since it wasn't explained on the menu to which they just kind of shrugged at me. Regardless of the perhaps lackluster service I really loved my food, the true, lived in vintage aesthetic and overall experience. Is 10.25 perhaps a bit expensive for a milkshake, i'd say so....but considering the overpriced reality of any trip to Hollywood I think it's something I would not regret spending my money on. Even though I can see why someone would rate this spot a 3, I simply cannot let my own rating fall below a 5 because I know the next time I'm in town it will be looming in my mind as the ideal place to feed my belly and nostalgic heart.

No server came by to take our order until we had to flag someone down ourselves. It became clear that the two servers had both assumed the other person was taking care of our table. We ordered a slice of the Bavarian Chocolate Banana Cream pie and a slice of pecan pie. Surprisingly, it took quite a while for just two slices of pie to come out. When the pecan pie finally arrived, it was extremely hot, almost as if it had been microwaved too long. It had practically melted onto the plate, and the pecans had a rubbery texture that made it seem reheated. Once it cooled enough to eat without burning your mouth, the flavor itself was mediocre at best. The Bavarian Chocolate Banana Cream pie was somehow even worse. It tasted old, like it had been sitting refrigerated for days. The whipped cream around the edges was overly firm and bordering on dry. The only hint of "chocolate" was the faint beige-brown tint of the filling. On top of that, it had enormous chunks of banana that left literal holes in the filling when removed. Even the crust felt like an afterthought. We took a few bites, asked for the check, and left. For a place called House of Pies, this being our first impression, they may want to consider rebranding to just "House."
