Day time is a 5 star. I always get great service and food. Came in at 8pm on night of 5/27/22 and it truly is a night and day difference between day and evening shift. I ordered a loaded asada fries that was pretty good. I also ordered a Del Taco that was horribly disappointing because it had the same amount of ingredient content as a value taco. I knew right away by weight that the taco was "light". I brought it up to the front counter and told them that this Del taco was more like a value taco in a Del taco shell. I continue to eat my loaded fries. I sort of hurricane stuff looking and talking about why I brought the untouched and uneaten taco back up to the counter without requesting a refund. Not once did the supervisor or manager on duty approach me to see if they could do anything. I'll never ever go to the Del Taco at night again. I'd rather eat rotten food from the street than to ever go there at night. This Del Taco spot was one of the best spots to go ever since I was a kid and they had a playground and you could play around in it not any more. And the last time I went there I will never be back there again. Their costumer service wasn't nice at all they threw it to me and said nothing and walked away which was very disrespectful. I ordered a Hamburger, Fries, and a side of Chili, and it was terrible the Hamburger, tasted like it had no salt and it was just a sad blob of meat. The Fries were stale, and they tasted they were cooked in old oil and they were not fresh at all. The Chili was disgusting it tasted rancid it smelled so bad like it was and expired Chili Can from the 1980s it was horrid. While most of the workers behind the counter seemed jovial, the guy I got at the register was exceptionally morose; it was as if the moment I walked in he suddenly realized the big picture of his life - "I...work...at...Del Taco...". My food came up quickly. It was all okay as far as fast food goes. The fries were of the soft variety which I'm not overly fond of. The ground beef in the tacos was too salty but the quality was good. I used to work with the wife of a guy who procured the beef for the Del Taco chain and he was mighty proud of the fact that it was good quality beef. They packed the tacos with lots of shredded cheese and a few teeny tiny tomato tidbits. When I was a kid my mom would go to the grocery store and get some hard taco shells, hamburger, a block of cheddar to grate and then chop up tomatoes, onions, lettuce, etc. and make tacos which we tiny gringos swooned over. I love del taco but this one is terrible. Unfortunately, it's the only one close to my work but this will be the last time. I usually order off the value menu because I like the items. Almost every time they screw up my order by forgetting an item or not adding enough cheese or chicken. In today's case, I ordered a few items along with a mini chicken quesadilla snacker. I received a quesadilla with maybe 1 teaspoon of cheese and no chicken. Cheese wasn't even melted. What a disappointment. I don't expect much since it's from the value menu but this is a disgrace. This is a 24-hour corporate Del Taco right down the street from company headquarters... so you know it's going to be a great one! I have the good fortune of being just a short distance from this location and go here on a regular basis. On the Del Taco scale, this location is only rivaled by the original Del Taco location in Barstow, and my favorite O.G. 24-hour location in Corona off Main. I've been a lifelong customer of Del Taco and at some points in high school lived exclusively on tacos from Del Taco. So I know a good Del Taco when I see one! Foothill Ranch also happens to be an extremely popular location, so it's busy all the time. But that isn't really a bad thing, since that means the restaurant is used to handling the rush and can be fairly efficient when there is a long line. Don't be discouraged if you see cars hanging out the drive thru, it's rather short and the line moves fast. The food is typically fresh and hot, and rarely disappoints. Since it is, what I presume, one of the "flagship" type locations, they always have the latest menu items to try. Things seem to have picked up lately with the release of the new "Del Tacos" as they have improved in quantity and quality of each taco. Taco Tuesday is a must at this location, as you can order large quantities of tacos for a great price and they are going to be fresh because everyone else is too. read more

This is one of those Del Tacos that is always scrumptious no matter what time you visit I believe a lot of that has to do with that this is like a flagship store as it's the closest location to their corporate offices. This Del is always what's been Del good as every time I've been here I've gotten my food quick from the dudes who work here who have been super nice and helpful even if they mess something up! The food I've gotten always hot and just that Del good as I'm sure you already know! One thing here that is super Del awesome is the fact that they have a salsa bar with all your favorite sauces on tap and some other fresh made salsa's that I haven't seen at other Del locations! Something here that's always Del awesome is to mix the Del Scorcho with the salsa from the one in the bowl at the bar it adds two a flavor of what's already Del o licious! Del combo burritos are always a scrumptious concoction all wrapped up and just that much better when you add some avocado goodness to them! Always super amazing are the cheese cake bites do they still have these anymore? Haha! Del quesadilla's with the red sauce instead of the green is usually what I ask for as it's just a yummy combo of cheesy saucy goodness in a tortilla. My friend Mahesh has been raving about the Mac 'n Cheese bites. He ditched our Denny's "after after" party to come here instead last night. That's true dedication. After all the madness at Knott's scary farm earlier tonight and walking around everywhere, we burned off the "boofet" pretty fast and I was hungry so on my way home I stopped here to pick up an order of guess what? Mac 'n Cheese bites! An order gets you 6 cheesy gooey bites. They're pretty good at first but after 3, the bites and the flavor gets boring :( I don't know if I'll be ordering these again. They're seriously deep fried and overall really bad late night food but eh, you only live once so you really should try and eat everything you feel like eating, right? ;) The 4 stars still stand. Then he tossed it to a food handler in the back and and he was holding it and saying oh this may be so and so's bottle oh I better throw it away. They should not be touching someone else's water bottle and especially around the food prep area and with gloves on that they touch the food with. 2014 YELP 365 CHALLENGE - 191/365 I've never been into Del Taco, but my boyfriend has recently converted me, all thanks to this location! This location is supposedly their flagship location, because their corporate offices are also in Foothill Ranch and this one is the closest store to them. They film their commercials here! :) The employees are very friendly and efficient. The store itself was pretty clean, and very big and spacious. They have a salad bar-type area and lots of condiments, utensils, etc. Our food came out pretty quickly and everything was good. Their food is SUPER cheap, and I was able to get two tacos at $0.59/piece. SO CHEAP! Del Taco is definitely comparable to Taco Bell, but they've got fries, burgers, etc. here as well. I haven't tried much other than the tacos and quesadillas, so I can't really say too much about the American food as opposed to their "Mexican" food. This location is also 24/7, and has a drive thru! Two big pluses in my book! Overall, 5 stars for this Del Taco. Can't get any better than this! read more
