This pasta was a recommended dish from our server. She was right! Spicy yet creamy with the burrata cheese. Amazing service and biance was right.

Half (1/2) of their massive meatball appetizer.

Very nice environment, seating, and lighting. Service is amazing...and the food is top tier. I have eaten here twice and changed which hotel I stay at when in town...just to be within walking distance. Everything on the menu appears to be amazing...I have tried two items so far, but have a personal commitment to work my way through most of the menu before my project is complete. You must try Del's!

The ambiance of this restaurant is great, makes you feel like your in Italy! The service was also great as our server was great and attentive and the food came out quickly despite them being busy. The food was good and flavorful as well but our pasta did seem undercooked, for two of the pasta entries we got. The pizza and pasta was very flavorful and tasty though and would definetly come back again!

The place is beautifully designed. The staff is friendly and attentive. The food is delicious, fresh and pleasingly presented. We had Mozzarella & Garlic bread appetizer, Seafood Fettuccine, Pizza, Canneollani, and a Nonna salad, plus the 2 pics attached. The drinks were on point as well. I had a Limoncello Lemonaid, my friend had a Waterloo Dark stout, another friend has a Whiskey sour. If you're in the area, this is a must, in my opinion! Have a meal here. You won't be disappointed!

This is what happens when you do to much. I wanted a slice of cheesecake, instead I get key lime mousse on the beach.

Underwhelmed and disgusted. I ordered crab cakes that look and sound like lava rocks, despite a grueling working and ravaging post workout hunger, I couldn't even eat them. These are obviously frozen as you get two crab cakes for $15, which is fine, I wasn't expecting wild caught Maryland blue crab, but can there be some crab... this is a cement patty of pure filler and I have no idea what the filler is but it looks like a combination of potato dumpling and shredded paper. To make matters worse, they're over cooked. I also ordered key lime cheesecake and got some bullshit instead. All I wanted was a slice of cheesecake; cheesecake, the simple yet tasty little dessert with the awesome graham cracker crust... what do I get? Whipped mousse topped with key lime shavings on a bed of lime purée sprinkled with pulverized graham cracker. Who the hell asked for that? Who the hell wants over the top cheesecake?! That shit could have been served in a cup, I wanted something to slice, something that required a fork, something with depth, hell, I wanted cake, cheesecake. Just don't. If I could go back in time, I'd grab a gas station sandwich, eat some oatmeal, a damn protein bar, hell, I'd even go to bed hungry. This was definitely the worse.

We popped in here because we were staying at the hotel next door. It was steady for a Friday night but we were immediately greeted and seated. After our drinks we were served fresh bread with two kinds of butter- cinnamon and garlic and herb. The butters were delicious and the bread was served in a cute little flower pot (super hot). We shared the mozzarella to start, but it didn't meet our expectations. We expected fresh mozzarella to be soft but this was pretty firm and doughy in texture. We cut it into four perfect pieces for the bread and some of the balsamic helped deliver on the flavor. The bread pieces were tasty. We split the tomatino as a meal- it was a newer addition to their menu. It looked like the forgot to split it at the last minute and shoved the top into a separate bowl so I got most of the chicken & tomatoes pieces. I thought the homemade pasta was good and it had a bit of a kick to it. Our server was attentive throughout the night. Overall, the experience was alright- nothing to rave or complain about. I think this place will be up and coming!

I had the Pear and Endive salad with Salmon. What a amazing mix of tastes and textures. Simple delicious. The walnuts and maple dressing really complimented each other. Oh, and the service was fantastic as well. Highly recommend this pace.

My boyfriend and I made reservations here for our anniversary, and based on the website it looked like a moderately upscale but not too frilly Italian restaurant. My impression slightly changed when I walked inside - it had more casual decor than I expected and was filled with families and kids. My first thought was "Oh no, I've walked into East Side Mario's". But my perception was once again changed by the food. To start they brought us out bread. But not just any bread. This bread was freshly baked in house and served warm with two types of butters: herb and apple cinnamon. I expected a mediocre factory made bread, so this really impressed me. For my appetizer I had the Villagio salad with mixed greens, olives, cucumber, grape tomatoes, pickled fennel, balsamic port vinaigrette, and Woolwich goat cheese. I liked that this wasn't just your average Mediterranean salad - the pickled fennel made it really unique and added a great bite to the dish. Also the use of local ingredients was nice to see! For my main I had a pizza with San Marzano tomato sauce, local prosciutto, Ontario fior de latte, and lemon truffle arugula - an ordinary pizza made extraordinary by the thick, flavourful prosciutto and soft local cheese. We finished off the meal with a complimentary dessert to celebrate our anniversary - the gesture was really appreciated! It was a house made ricotta cheesecake with orange and lemon marmalade and salted caramel brittle. I loved this twist on cheesecake - the ricotta added such a nice texture and richness. This place may seem ordinary at first glance, but it is definitely worth a visit!

My four star rating is just that I think they're really good, but they could be great. The staff is wonderful, both personable and knowledgable about the menu and ready to ask questions if they don't know the answers. The restaurant itself is charming too - you have a small store at the front and then pass by an open kitchen before being seated in a comfortable dining area. I was with a group of 4: my husband, and then another couple he's friends with that I was meeting for the first time. We were told that we should consider 2 dishes per person, and 6-8 for a group like ours with the intention of sharing. I love the chance to get to try many different things, so sharing seemed like the way to go. With that said, some of these dishes were much more challenging to share than others. We got the fried oyster mushrooms (easy to share), eggplant (easy), leek (difficult), roots (medium), duck (medium), crab & shrimp (hard), and mushroom main (easy). To this point, I would suggest going as a couple or with a friend you're quite comfortable with as the dishes feel easiest shared between 2 and not as large of a group. Minor, I know, but still worth mentioning. The food itself was delicious. Stand outs to me were their mushroom dishes (both fried and the main), crab & shrimp, and caramel apple dessert. I loved these for being incredibly thoughtful dishes, wherein the star of the dish was never minimized, and other elements brought in textural surprises or nuanced tastes to compliment what was being featured. The only thing we had that I felt was a miss was the seasonal pumpkin dessert, and for having had 9 dishes with only 1 being a bit lackluster means to me that Odd Duck has 5 star potential! The things that brought this to a four were the pacing, cutlery, and challenges sharing after it had been suggested we do so. With so many plates, I acknowledge the challenge but sometimes it felt like we were waiting quite a bit of time for the next bite of food. While the staff was attentive and refreshed our plates and silverware multiple times, there were a few dishes (leeks, and duck come to mind) that I wish we would have had a sharper knife. Knowing that we planned to share everything, I also wish that we'd been armed with that sharper knife to help divvy everything up accordingly. With that said, I would absolutely return to the Odd Duck. I love that they use fresh, seasonal ingredients and do a great job with them. I hope that when I return some of the things that made them a four have been easily remedied and the experience is a true five stars!

My friend recommended this place. They change the menu every two weeks or so (and she may or may not have tried each menu change...). There was four of us, and we got 10 dishes to share, as well as the cheese sampler. The service was good, and they brought out two at a time so we could savour it all. We started with the cheese sampler which came with two local cheeses, and a nice strawberry sauce, and their homemade crackers. (See pictures for the menu we had that night) The carrots came with a tasty sauce. The turnip dish was nice, but for me the mushrooms were the star of this dish. I didn't find the tuna fishy, and the lime crema paired well, as well as the sesame tuile (cracker). The scallop may seem overpriced at $30 for just one, but it was perfectly cooked (the knife just glided its way down), and big enough to share among the four of us. Certain parts of the beef were more cooked than others, but had a nice tasty sear. They didn't ask how we liked it cooked and came medium rare to medium (I usually order rare). The blueberry and peppercorn jus paired nicely with it. The lentil salad may have been one of my favourites. It tasted like it had lemongrass in it (which is one of my favourite flavours) and a convincing way to introduce lentils to those who may not be a fan. The bok choy was presented nicely and the mint paired well with it. I especially liked the rice paper chip. The gnocchi had a nice chew to it, and I liked the basil and sour cherry sauce. We finished off with their gluten free chocolate cake, and the mousse. They were both tasty, but if I had to choose again, it would be the mousse. The cake is soft and the (hibiscus & licorice root coconut) ice cream happily reminded me of coconut sago. The mousse is a bit misleading, as it's nothing like you would expect: not a soft creamy dessert, but instead ice cream with a hard ruby/dark chocolate coating on the outside. The chocolate coating is a bit hard to break, but tasty once you do. If the menu remained the same I would reorder: the turnip dish, scallop, lentil salad, gnocchi, and tuna. Menu looks a bit pricey, however they don't charge gratuity, as they pay a thriving wage. Would definitely come again.

Then it shifted to screaming "CHEAP"! We sat at the bar as the hostess said the seating was full but it looked FAR from full. It also didn't fill up during the time we were there either. Then I looked closer & many things fell apart. The service was slow, the food was both mediocre and had super small portion size. The draft beer size LOOKED big but in reality it was more like a 12oz pint with a really big mug. It was Taco Tuesday. The Tacos were $3.49/taco, beef or chicken. They were a decent size but virtually tasteless & the meat on both was completely dried out completely. I ordered the house signature wings, xtra saucy ($18.99) for a Pound. They should have been embarrassed by what they turned out! They were exactly opposite to what the menu said. They were TINY & almost devoid of sauce! I'm unclear as to what the obstacle is for saucy wings!? All in all...this is definitely NOT a do over or a recommend.

Review of The Canadian Brewhouse - Kitchener Location…read more Overall Rating: 1 out of 5 stars (Poor/Inedible) Our recent experience at the Kitchener location was extremely disappointing, marked by logistical issues, slow service, and significant quality problems with the food. First Impressions & Seating Upon arrival, the entrance area was poorly managed. With a party of five, there was literally no space to stand while waiting, which created an immediate bottleneck and awkward experience for both our group and others entering/exiting. Service & Drinks Once seated, we ordered drinks promptly. While the Diet Pepsi, Lemonade, and water were fine, the Club Soda was noticeably flat. Our food order took an excessive 45 minutes to arrive, and only after our server proactively checked on the kitchen's status. Food Quality - Major Issues The most critical issue was the quality of the food across multiple dishes. It was unacceptable. Items ordered: Spicy Hickory Burger: WAY overcooked/burnt. The taste of char dominated the flavour. The accompanying fries were the only saving grace. Canadian Burgers with cheese and bacon: The burger itself was burnt, and the bacon was burnt crispy. The sweet potato fries were soggy. Creamy Chicken Alfredo with mushrooms: Minimal chicken (only 1 sliver initially). When a replacement chicken breast was provided, it was burnt. Creamy Chicken Alfredo (no mushrooms): The pasta itself was mediocre ("meh"), but the portion of chicken was generous, receiving the fewest complaints from our party. Chorizo Mac and Cheese (new menu item): Inedible. The flavour was utterly appalling--metallic and burnt, tasting like "dirt sautéed in a dirty pan." I had to spit it out. The pasta also featured pieces of unmelted cheese, indicating poor preparation. We also signed up for the app (before we got our food) to get the free appetizer which was a cheesy garlic bread. We got it with marinara for take home. After you peel off the burned bacon and cheese layer, you're left with a decent pizza dough to dip in decent marinara. Conclusion The pervasive issue of burnt food (affecting three out of five entrées) and the truly inedible quality of the new Chorizo Mac and Cheese indicates a severe breakdown in the kitchen. Combined with the cramped waiting area and slow service, we cannot recommend this location and hope management addresses these fundamental quality control issues immediately. On the bright side, our waitress was nice. We will never eat here again.
