I came to DEEP Relief after a traumatic experience at Austin Deep and want to highlight how much more caring and thoughtful the massage therapists here are, namely Ari and Candice. My first massage was with Ari and while it was absolutely fabulous, it wasn't quite as deep as I needed. I have chronic back pain resulting from a car accident in 2018 (rear ended by a driver on I-35) which is absolutely excruciating and at that point, had compounded into even more pain than usual. The massage was great and I absolutely would have been back, but Ari actually recommended I try my next massage with Candice for an even deeper massage. Holy cow, did Candice deliver!! I've literally never had anyone get near my pain threshold on a massage and I had to ask to dial it back a smidge pretty much everywhere except my back, which could essentially take the weight and pressure of a baby elephant at this point. I've been regularly going to have massages with Candice every 2-3 weeks now and have signed up for the membership. 100% worth it. My migraines are better, my back is better, and Candice is completely respectful of my requests and trauma history (certain areas are sensitive as a result and require immediate firm pressure, no light touch or grazing fabrics/hands). After mentioning it the first few times, I really haven't even had to bring it up at all. If you want a phenomenal deep tissue massage, I genuinely cannot recommend DEEP Relief and Ari or Candice enough. As far as the location, it is conveniently located off of a major intersection and parking is free, which is always nice. 10/10 recommend DEEP Relief. I am so grateful! read more

The massage was OK. The atmosphere was OK. Their pricing, however, seems very high for a massage that is a bit substandard. It didn't help that the therapist didn't understand my nonverbal cues indicating that I needed down time and didn't wish to talk. Instead, he decided to bring up politics and claimed that Obama was involved in a sex ring and Will Smith raped his own son. It was bizarre. Also, this therapist felt that Alex Jones should not have been penalized for saying whatever he wants because he has a right to exercise free speech. I think I left that place with greater stress than when I walked in! read more

If I could give 6 stars I would!. I've got muscles that respond well to a "therapeutic" touch vs that mamby pamby soft massage that just ticks me off. Trigger point release is what I need and I found it HERE. The strong hands, the understanding of referred pain nd specific points in the body that send the pain and discomfort to other places...like lower back pain? its a nasty trigger point in the gluts....tension (front) headache? a bothersome trigger point in the base of the skull...you get the point. They have a good point system, on how you can communicate pressure...yes you are talking during your session...as with any proper TP work, its supposed to be conversation on pressure while your knots are getting released. They also sell magnesium...which is what our bodies are depleted of (look up magnesium deficeny and the host of issues that follow it) next time imma have them use that Mg lotion while they work out the kinks...they even gave me a nice lil 30buck discount on the next visit. He's a Reiki Master and certified Dharma Yoga teacher as well, so your massage will be holistic as well as therapeutic. The best massage I've gotten in Austin. This is the most productive massage I've gotten in Austin. I lift weights 5 days a week and work at a computer so get plenty of muscle tightness in my shoulders, traps, lower back, etc. Whitney is who I go to every time. With most massage places, I've noticed I have to be fairly communicative in terms of where I want them to focus. With Whitney, I give her a heads up at the beginning but she is so in tune with your body she knows exactly where to focus. She is amazing. Ever since moving to Austin I have had two moments where I woke up incapable of moving my neck. Deep relief was located near my house and came with good reviews from my neighbors so I called them up and they were able to squeeze me in. One time they stayed late to help me as they knew I was in pain. I have used their dry needling, massage, and chiropractic adjustment treatments. The studio itself is very clean and modern, and the therapists are all interactive and ensure they are applying the right pressure. I had one therapist go over our time just to make sure my issues were resolved. They truly care and are results oriented! A great hidden gem. I started going here a few months ago after sustaining a shoulder and back injury from lifting weights. After 2 visits I was completely recovered and renewed. There therapists are elite and really knowledgeable when it comes to recovery and healing injuries. Haven't had a bad experience thus far. I recommend scheduling a appointment Ari. SO EXCITED TO HAVE FOUND THIS PLACE! it's right around the corner and it's totally awesome. Got a massage from Austin, was the best I've had and I've gone to some really nice spas recently. This was better. Some points I didn't even know we're there which helped my shoulder a LOT!!! They have a really good "pressure system" where you control the pressure they use throughout. They have the ability to do a very deep tissue or not at all and they don't charge extra for deep tissue like most spas. They also do acupuncture, chiropractic and dry needling here. The appts are easy to book thru the website, which is a huge plus these days. The woman who owns it does the accupuncture and seems very experienced! All of them are. They also have the option to make the massage ashiatsu and are completely set for that too. I'm actually going today for chiro consult and acupuncture for my neck and shoulder. I'm very excited. They seem to really understand and respect natural medicine and that's a necessity for me. They also sell Chinese herbs and vitamins!! Try it out! I came in for a 50 minute massage for my reoccurring neck and lower back pain. Erin was great and helped loosen and relax the muscles causing the painful tension. I also returned for a Chiro session with Dr. Sean. He is knowledgeable and very talented! Most chiropractors will crack your back and send you off but he really spent the time using various techniques and providing very useful information and tips to help prevent my alignment issues moving forward.
