Deco Olds AB location - technician Jonathon Vehicle 2021- 1 chip driver side explain timing below Deco Regional Manager - Kristen ( Red Deer) We got a rock chip driver side highway driving Saturday afternoon about 2 pm by 3 pm we were at the Olds Sobeys Orange tent location to get it fixed. Technician Jonathon was a great help, we didn't have a lot of time but we did not want the chip to spread (new car) so he went right to work, he inspected the windshield and noticed a second chip hidden by the mirror from the inside so thankful he saw that and proceeded to repair both chips. In the process of taking off finishing the middle chip Jonathan leaned a crossed the windshield putting pressure and he snapped the windshield creating a crack driver side. I heard and saw the crack happen it was not there before. Jonathan felt bad, said he could fix it but because of our time restraints we could not stay to fix. He confirmed with his manager that there would be someone at the Olds location Sunday so we could come back and get crack fixed. According to Jonathan the tech that was scheduled Sunday Olds is very skilled and "could fix the crack no problem" J did not charge us for other 2 chips but I did want to buy the membership and the only way to do that was to charge us for the one chip and membership. I was happy with J's service so gave him a $10 tip total $94.50. We got text message from J later that day saying confirmed someone will be in Olds Sunday. Sunday no one in Olds - waited a good hour no show. no response to text to J Felt we were getting scammed wrote a polite but firm text to J saying why did you lie to us we just wasted our time and gas money whats the deal?! He texted a screen shot from Kristen saying "1000% someone there Monday" it will be fixed. Monday 1 pmish - New tech Min listens understands the situation he says "yes I can fix no problem. it will take me about 20 mins if you want to do some shopping it will be ready when you're done" good I said back in 20 its a new car and that crack makes me mad I dont want to see it" Min "no problem I'll fix it" When I come back to the car the crack is not gone but a new hole at the bottom of the crack. I am not happy and not accepting the result. Min "thats the best he can do its done to the best of his ability I'm not charging you for it whats the problem?" He immediately calls his supervisor Kristen (with back turned and walked away so I could not hear conversation) Min "she says there is nothing more that they can do it was my problem and I took the risk getting it fixed. Its not going to go anywhere (the crack)." Me "I'm not happy, no one explained to me I was still going to see the crack and I only have the crack because your tech cracked it. It was not like that when I got here and I have a new vehicle that I'm taking care of by getting cracks filled immediately and you're saying "Not a DECO problem!" Let me talk to your Manager - Min would not call her again or give me her number, he finally did. I was hot by this time Kristen told me flat out that they do not do windshield replacement best she can do is give me refund but she is not responsible. Kristen was rude! Unprofessional! flat out LIED to me! Would not give me her supervisors name or number and just wanted me to go away. While she was telling me it was all my fault I had a bad windshield I was on the line with DECO head office Calgary. Hunter the receptionist honestly was no better. Finally I got that Josh was the Manager there but he was travelling right now could not take a call or make a call for 3 days. Great customer service you guys. Not to worry I contacted Corporate Head Office and verified Kristen not only LIED about the replacement services and it did not have to escalate to this point. But because it was money out of her pocket she was not willing to remedy the situation. Well done! *ohh she did refund my $94.50 which included the tip to Jonathan but that does not solve the problem I'm not going away! I did NOT put the crack in the windshield. - DECO inspected the windshield prior to work DECO's responsibility. I came in for the 1 crack I could see and understand that fix and what the result is. They charged me $90 for one small quarter sized star . It took about 3 minutes . They said oh it's really big it will be $ 90 but if you have AMA you get a year of free chip repairs included . Website mentions pricing based on size of chip i.e. Stone damage or stone "chips" up to the size of a nickel - $60. Larger chips. Twoonie sized $90. My chip was nickel sized, nickle covered it completely. When I went in I was quoted $90 and told they would need an extra unit to fix it even though the damage fit into an area smaller than a nickel as they would need an extra unit to fix it. Nowhere on their website does it mention repairing based on units, only size. Customer is led to believe one thing and told another when they get there. Sounds like bait and switch. So decided to try these guys because they were convenient at Cranston location. After asking the cost of repair the young man quoted $200 for 1 dime sized chip and 3 smaller ones. These folks are just crazy!! Went back to CalAlta ( Who i have always gone to for chip repairs) who did 5 chips for $70 in 25 minutes then gave a 50% discount for donating to the veterans food bank so $35 plus $20 for the food bank vs $200 at Deco. You have to be a sucker to pay their prices.I'm pretty sure they don't have that much of a superior product to squeeze into your windshield. Always wondered why the tents are empty most of the time. Do not sign up for a membership plan with DECO. I have contacted them a number of times to cancel an upcoming renewal, and they never followed up with my request except for a generic response that they would get back to me in 1-2 business days. Well, it's been five business days now. I tried calling, no one picked up. I tried canceling online through their website, as instructed through the generic response, but the website will not allow you to cancel your membership. I finally had to contact my credit card company to flag the upcoming transaction. So ridiculous. I wish I could give zero stars. read more

My wife took her car here to have a chip repaired. The talked her into a couple of upgrades which ended up costing over $100.00 for one chip. I would recommend going to a glass shop for chip repairs. I have been a member for a few years now. This time I went to the usual Tera Losa location sat for 30 minutes waiting for someone to get back to the tent. Decided to call customer service. Was given another location by Customer Service at South Common was heading in that direction but again not even the tent this time. 14 degrees and sunny so you can't use the excuse of weather. Not happy with the service as the employees apparently were logged in but no one around. I have to go to another glass place and pay out of my pocket as I don't want this crack to get worse overnight as temp is supposed to be below zero. DECO windshield is the worst company. Fraudulent activity carried out by company's craft man. He claimed only one minor dot will be visible after repair, craftsman totally untrained during drilling windshield crack become bigger and after completion of repair instead of one minor dot three dots and the repaired area gives blurry vision. They always try to steel money through your credit card on the account of warranty. Never go for repair work I did not ask for plan he added plan. I paid for one year in 2018 and cancelled my plain before that plan ended so I wouldn't be charged for the following year. Its 2021 now and I noticed I had a charge 4 days ago of $40.00 from Deco? I'm thinking how and why when I cancelled my plan before the 2018 year was over. So i took a look at my statements they charge me 26.25 for 2020, and 47.20 + 26.25 in 2019. I tried calling 2 of their phone numbers but no one is answering.The one time a guy picked up, he told me he will talk to the manager and told me that I will receive a call shortly regarding about the refund and yet I NEVER GOT A CALL! This business is an absolute scam, that is run by crooks. I was getting 2 chips filled and he let me know that he can sign me up for a year at the same price so I said sure. Then I see a charge I'm on my credit card bill for a subscription renewal so I try to get a hold of them for weeks but keep getting disconnected. Finally talked to someone today and she said there's nothing that can be done because they sent me a reminder email that doesn't exist, even in my junk. She then refused to transfer me to a manager because he was busy so he will call me "when he has some free time". Looking at the Better Business Bureau website there's a boat load of complaints just like this, so I'm assuming it's a business strategy at this point. Worst part is the chip ended up cracking as soon as a cold snap happened. Avoid this place at all cost, filling your chip with a piece of chewing gum will serve you better. read more

I signed up for a 1 year subscription for the free chip repair, that one year rolled around and I never did get any chips repaired so I decided to cancel the subscription through the email reminder. I received emails back confirming that I cancelled my subscriptions. However I had 2 vehicles on my plan. Apparently when you cancel through the email link you only cancel half the subscription (one vehicle). So the next year rolls around, I never noticed I was charged because I didn't have online banking at the time. This year rolls around and Deco sends me an email wondering if I want to cancel my subscription? Wtf I thought I cancelled it last year? I called Deco, they won't pay me back for the subscription because I only cancelled one vehicle apparently. The lady on the phone basically just told me they changed the way that works now so it shouldn't be an issue now. I'm assuming this happened to lots of other people. Not sure why they would assume I would only want one vehicle taken off, they never did sent me an email prior to billing me except the one I unsubscribed from. Deco are Scamsters. Stay away. They can only carry out repairs on minor windshield scratches. Anything more, like stopping the progress of a crack is well beyond their capabilities. Will carry out a heavy upsell, for a years' free service, after car windshield was given for repairs. If you made the mistake of getting succered, they will enroll you into their automatic renewal programme. This you will only be made aware a year later on the very day of the so called renewal date. They will direct you to their website to cancel the renewal. Only the website will insist on a repair program # which was never given. Avoid these scamsters like the plague. read more

The repair was OK, but with the repair I was unknowingly enrolled in an automatic annual subscription charge to my credit card that was certainly not made clear at the time of repair... it may have been hidden in the fine print of the repair invoice. When I saw the charge on my credit card, I immediately cancelled the subscription, however their cancellation terms require notice 24 hours before the renewal date. Needless to say, I received no email notices prior to that date reminding me that there was a renewal due. Consequently, my single chip repair turned out to be rather expensive. This is predatory practice that no reputable business should engage in. I would definitely NOT recommend using DECO. read more

I went into my account to check and someone else's credit card information was on my account. Not sure why there was a credit card on my account as I paid cash. I was very concerned and wrote to the company. They didn't seem concerned one bit. The representative Dakota stated that, "the credit card on file must have been the personal card of the operator." Like, hello? I wouldn't want my credit information attached to someone else's account. Nice investigating Dakota. I previously paid for a 1 year coverage of my vehicle for future rock chips. Unfortunately I received one and attempted to book an appointment. I have tried for the past week to book an appointment before it spreads, and all locations are closed (including the full-time locations). I called customer service who did answer this time, and Dakota answered. She was of no help at all. Could not tell me anything, and was not able to have an actual conversation unless she was reading from a script. Was a total waste of time and I wish I never paid for the 1 year coverage. I'm going to have to go elsewhere. They do a good job when you can actually find them, however I would NOT recommend paying for a 1 year all-inclusive plan. read more

Had repair done by girl at Capilano Cdn Tire, on a quarter sized brand new star chip, $60 plus offered a window coating for pitting glare for another $20. (Dirt streaks galore now! Worse visibility than before due to the beading of dirt water that my wipers cannot remove!) Newer vehicle. Wasn't confidant in the job on the chip, had another location check it out a few weeks later, as she recommended, another "summer student" said it's fine, showed him the color difference in the star, which means air showing, but he said nope it's good. I now have a 4 inch crack and no one to talk to!! Left a voice message and sent an email. No response yet. Have to wait until I can get to one of their tents tomorrow to see if they can fix, but it is spreading fast! Next time Windshield Surgeons!! Very dissapointing service. I was hit by a stone which caused a nice crack in my windshield. I immediately went to find an orange tent in Calgary where I live. The young man working there told me that it would be $150 to repair due to how many units of resin they would need to use. Wow i really wish that I went to my regular windshield repair spot that only charges $15 per crack!! By the time i waited for the next morning, it was too late the crack had spread :( read more

Think twice next time you use Deco Windshield Repair !!! I got 3 chips in my windshield fixed, (when my truck was dirty) the installers ladder wasn't tall enough for him to reach the windshield. So he stood on my tire and knelt on the hood with his other leg. When I washed the truck later and noticed 2 dents on each side directly over the tires where he was kneeling I called them. They asked me to take pictures and I did. They then asked me to take my truck to a different location where a manager then took pictures and inspected the vehicle and I did. He tried to duplicate what the original repair guy did and the dents were right where his knee was. Now today I got an email finally from them saying that because there was a time lapse in them doing the repair and me washing my vehicle and noticing the dents, they can't take full responsibility. But if I take the truck to their other company Dent Squad, they will cover only half the cost of repairing the truck. Sounds like a scam to me. $130 windshield repair, my time emailing and driving back and forth with them and now half the cost to fix the 4 dents in my hood caused by them. Lesson learned - in the future just buy a new windshield when it cracks for $250. Deco Windshield Repair is a JOKE !!!! read more
