Alberta roads. Your stomach just sinks when you hear about it. The potholes, the drivers and of course, the year round gravel that's like onions on a burger: it's helpful but it overstays its welcome. I was the victim of a recent flying rock that gave my windshield a pimple that will always stay with it. No proactiv. No Oxy. Luckily it was just a chip and not a crack. I was ready to go to those orange tents you see at the parking lots of Canadian tire but with Anna from Frozen spreading her bitter charm those tents are no longer out. My friend had recommended me to the Windshield Surgeon. Made an appointment bright and early on Saturday morning. Came in and was greeted right away. They took a quick look at the chip and estimated about a ten minute wait. There's magazines, coffee and even microwavable popcorn too which is a welcomed treat. After ten ish minutes, keys were given back and that ugly chip is now a smaller scar. TL;DR: quick, affordable place to repair your windows from chips and cracks! Free popcorn!!! read more

I made an appointment with Windshield Surgeons on 170th St to have my front windshield replaced. The quality of their work was good but I had an unreasonably long wait time for the job to get done. My appointment was for one o'clock and they told me the day before when they called to confirm that it would take one hour. Great. I dropped the vehicle off promptly at 1 PM (as per our agreement--imagine that) and then the service advisor tells me that the time estimate is an hour-and-a-half to two hours. I returned at 2 PM to see that my Jeep was still where I left it--they hadn't even gotten to it yet. I asked what was up--that wasn't the time they quoted me. He gave me his hard-luck "whoa is me" story about how they were swamped and having trouble keeping up. Apparently they also do the glass for several of the car dealerships nearby and this is what was keeping them busy this day. I guess Windshield Surgeons place a higher priority on their contract work than they do on customers who book appointments. My vehicle wasn't done until almost 4:00. Way longer than the hour-and-a-half to two hours. I shouldn't be shocked because I have had experiences in the past with automotive places where "appointments" are just tricks to get the customer in the door. They know that the customer will not just turn around and leave, especially if their vehicle is in the shop. I get that they're busy but they have no business taking appointments that they can't honour and estimating repair times that they can't deliver on. If they were deducting so much off your bill for every half hour that they go over, it wouldn't be so bad. But of course they don't do that. The next time I need the services of an auto-glass establishment I'm going to make sure I pick one that isn't near a car dealership or a Kal Tire. read more

We recently had our windshield replaced at Windshield Surgeons and would highly recommend this business to you, we picked a windshield with the Nano film and 2 free chip repairs were included for a decent price. This film works very well, almost amazing! Poor experience. I won't be returning and I recommend going elsewhere. After an initial quote of $199+tax, I ended up with a $350 bill. This was blamed on the call center and due to it being cold (10 degrees) out. Installation was also poor: they required a new gasket, that gasket was not installed evenly, and they used too much polyurethane adhesive so that the new windshield sits noticeably higher than factory. Polyurethane was also swelling out around the gasket and part of the molding was broken. They deny responsibility for the scratches around the window, but I'm only 95% certain they were at fault. Finally, there were soapy/greasy drops across my dash and stereo. I called and made an appointment with Mike, the manager to talk about the problems. When I arrived at the discussed time, Mike had 'just stepped out' and didn't return for half an hour. He eventually showed up to explain that they 'can never get things to match like factory' and they 'use an extra thick bead of poly to make sure that the window doesn't leak'. I took the car to another windshield company and have been told that it is 'amateur' to use that much polyurethane and there is no reason why a windshield couldn't be installed to the same finished height as the original. read more

I got my windshield replaced a few weeks ago, had a minor issue with the rain sensor, I finally have time to took my vehicle back this week to get the sensor fixed, no charged, works very good. The experience I have with this shop (170 street) is excellent, the price is awesome, people there front and back are great, they have very good business attitudes, they will make sure you are satisfy, I am very happy with the result. One thing I do not agree with that gentleman there was when he shown me my car works fine with all the functions works properly , and he said to me; Mr. Pang, I don't want to see you again, ha ha, I think I will prove him wrong because he has earned my business and my trust, and the fact is we live in Alberta, so, I am quite certain I will see him again. I seem to have been cursed with bad service everywhere I've taken my vehicle as of late, but these guys turned that right around for me. I brought in my F15 X5 for a windshield replacement and I was greeted by a customer service/sales agent by the name of Desiree. She was a complete and utter sweetheart to deal with, and her professionalism was certainly a breath of fresh air. She set me up with the fellas at the west Edmonton location that afternoon, where I was cheerfully greeted and introduced to the acting technician, Nick. Nick and I walked the vehicle down together, where he took the time to note every preexisting blemish on the vehicle, prior to taking possession. Both Desiree and Nicks attention to detail definitely set my 'particular nature' at ease. Just realized these people stayed late to get me taken care of too. Great people, great craftsmanship.
