Imagine my surprise when after I took my Pontiac Vibe there, they said they couldn't warranty it because I had a rusted pinch weld. I asked to talk to the manger because they had installed the previous two windshields and never mentioned a thing. He never called me back despite two more phone calls to talk to him. I took out the one year rock chip repair and reduced windshield coverage because the Mayor of Calgary insists on a lot of gravel and sand on our roads. It cracks a lot of windshields--I go through one a year here. Bad luck? Anyways, I took my SUV into Windshield surgeons, who have replace my front windshield twice all ready, and have done a terrific job: fast and good and not that expensive--this time it was a simple half inch rock chip. The chip was filled with an acrylic resin, and while it is strong, it still shows. I explained to the lad that if you match the Refractive Index of the resin with that of the windshield, the rock chip star disappears. I got a Homer Simpson "Doh" look. Hey guys, get on the web, and look it up, there are all sorts of companies matching the R.I. of rock chip repair with the R. I. of windshield glass, which, by the way, is 1.52!!! So I have a rock chip on my windshield, glued etc. but still there. I am not happy with this work. so easy to do better, guys!! read more

I got there about 20 minutes to closing. That morning a rock had chipped my windscreen right in the middle and I was not ok with it. My biggest fear was it splitting and having to replace the whole thing because of where it was. He came outside to meet me, there was only one person working, before I was even out of my car. Thanks goodness for Windshield Surgeons! And thank goodness they aren't too far from my home! My husband's Jeep was in dire need of a new windshield. Years of use, driving on gravel roads and the joys of highway driving behind large tractor trailers put a spider web design in his windshield. Needless to say it was not safe driving it with impaired sight lines. We checked around for pricing and service quality and settled on the Windshield Surgeons. Of course, I'm left undertaking booking the appointment, taking the Jeep up and getting home and driving the Jeep is a bit of a challenge for short legs (gotta love double clutching), but I made it there and back just fine. I didn't have to wait long for a new windshield to be installed. To be honest it was nice to get out of the house, have a coffee and wait. The techs were prompt, the service good and the warranty sound. Yes, I see the irony on the warranty part, but it's there for installation and manufacturer defect. About a year ago we had a windshield put into our Toyota Matrix. The service was prompt and the price was fair. However, 6 days later it rained for the first time since the windshield was installed and without exaggerating, there was a steady stream of water coming into the car between the headliner and the A pillar trim on the passenger side. We canceled our plans for the day and returned to the shop. They took us in quickly and "fixed" the issue. The car was no longer leaking, but they managed to glob black sealant on the headliner and A pillar trim piece. I let it go, being that it is a 10 year old economy car, but can't help but think about how upsetting this would've been had this been one of my collector cars. Anyway, about a year passes and now the windshield is leaking again. Now on the drivers side. Again, between the A pillar trim and headliner. This time on the drivers side. I will not allow them to "fix" it again and am unfortunately going to have to pay a capable glass shop to seal the leak. My expectations aren't abnormally high, all I wanted was a fresh windshield that kept the weather out. They failed to deliver and did a genuinely half assed repair to attempt to fix a bad install. Stay away. Go somewhere else. read more

I made an appointment to get my windshield replaced. I was on a tight schedule, and I was coming into Edmonton from out of town. When making the appointment, I asked how long the job would take. I was told 1.5 hours, so I scheduled my appointment within an opening I made in my schedule. I dropped of my car 15 minutes before my appointment. It took that 15 minutes just for someone to show up at the front desk! I again asked how long it would take. I was told that I could come back in 1.5 hours and it would be done. When I returned in 1.5 hours my car was sitting out front. I assumed that they finished it on time, as promised. However, they hadn't even touched it. Once again I stood at the front counter for 10 minutes waiting for someone to come out. I asked why my car wasn't ready. I was told that they were going to start the job now. I said that I didn't have time and that I wouldn't wait longer. The employee didn't seem the least be concerned. No apology. No explanation. She even seemed a bit disgusted with ME! A wasted trip (and gas) into Edmonton. A wasted 2 hours driving to the shop and waiting at the McDonalds. And now I have to reschedule at another business next week and try to free up another afternoon when it is difficult to get away from work. Is this how they show respect for their customers? I went to this location recently to get a rock chip on my windshield fixed. I walked in - no appointment necessary - and the job was done in a little over 20 minutes or so. Not only was the guy in the shop very polite and knowledgeable, but the cost was great - much less than I paid at Speedy previously for the same work. Two weeks later I received a courtesy call from the company to see if my repair was ok and I was satisfied. All-in-all, a very good experience as reflected in my star rating. read more

I never would have expected replacing a windshield would be so easy. Maurizio (manager) provided me updates and friendly customer service as I waited. My windshield was unique and quite hard to find in the city. I did have to wait a bit for the supplier to deliver the windshield. ..but it was already expected. As a goodwill gesture Maurizio swapped a new set of wipers for me (a nice surprise). Highly recommended! Won't hesitate to bring my 2013 Elantra GT here in the future! Great job! read more

I had a rock chip that I wanted repaired on Friday so I decided to go to Windshield Surgeons. The price was $30 which seemed reasonable and they got me in immediately to have it repaired. After he was done he asked me to come out to my car to 'show me something' while repairing the chip my windshield cracked and he offered to fix the cracks and not charge me anything. They drilled two holes on either end of the crack to stop it from spreading and filled them. The following day the cracks spread on BOTH sides of the repair. I went to talk to them about it and they said that they would replace my windshield for $189 plus tax. I feel that they did not do a proper job stopping the crack that they started and think it is unfair that I am expected to pay $200 for a new windshield when a few days ago it was just a rock chip. After talking to the regional manager in the store he said that because I wasn't charged for the original repair it was unreasonable that I wanted a new windshield for a free 'service'. I said this sort of thing doesn't usually happen when you get a chip repaired and that really upset him, he asked me if I worked in the glass industry and how I would know that if I didn't. He said this sort of thing happens all the time, I've never heard of something like this happening, maybe with windshield surgeons it happens a lot. The cracks would be understandable if it happened after a few months and maybe just on one side but when it happens within 24hrs on BOTH cracks they tried to fix it seems like they didn't do a very good job and they do not stand behind their work. I will be avoiding this company and I recommend you do the same thing...... VERY BAD CUSTOMER SERVICE!! read more

I went in expecting quality service, however, I was disappointed. I knew there was a chance of the spider crack spreading because I signed their waiver after they explained the small chance of it happening. After seeing the initial repair while still in the shop, the crack had spread already (nothing was said to me - I pointed it out) & was told I could just stay with the employee while she "fixed" it again. She proceeded to drill into it, all the while having a conversation unrelated to anything professional & seemed distracted because it was the end of her day. It cracked again, but in the opposite direction and she didn't see it...I did!! It was a rush repair and the product DOES NOT get injected into the break... It is only spread over the top & dried with a UV light. She told me when I was leaving, if it spread further, just come back to see her! Well, it did & I didn't go back because of the length it spread over night while parked in my garage. No way to repair it now... I'm looking at replacement now. I should've never let them attempt to repair the small chip that was there. Unprofessional, rushed service & I do not recommend going to Windshield Surgeons. This was at the 99 St Edmonton location. read more
