Total run around. Was told a part under $200 was close to $1000, along with some other BS. Never again. Would never recommend to anyone.

My vehicle stayed in their shop for 4 days, and after the inspection they told me that my driver-side lower control arm was broken and that the thermostat needed replacement. They charged me $3,600, but never provided any proof, photos, or explanation showing that the arm was actually broken. They also refused to give me the parts invoice, never showed the cost of the parts they used, and provided no breakdown at all. They charged me $2,200 just for labor, yet this job normally takes around 3 hours, not multiple days. When I asked for labor rate, time, or details, they didn't provide anything. The whole process felt unprofessional, unclear, and extremely overpriced. The worst part is that after I picked up my car, it had even bigger problems than before. The vehicle started having new issues immediately, and now I have to take it to another certified Mercedes mechanic to fix whatever was done to it. I honestly have no idea what they did to my car, but the quality of work seems extremely poor. I am very disappointed and strongly warn anyone with a high-end vehicle: do not trust this shop with your car. They provided no transparency, no proof, no proper documentation, overcharged for labor, and returned my car in worse condition than it arrived.

After dropping the car off (and paying a $20 Uber home), I was called and told they "won't even look at it, because they don't want to." When I went into Kal Tires to purchase new tires (the same season) they told me the alignment was off and the direction of the treads were completely wrong which Downtown Auto completed. Waste of money. This same auto repair shop told me they could not open the glove compartment but that they would have to break the lock and replace it with a new one that would cost me about $200. I refused the service. A day after my mom opened it herself with a screw driver! When even trained car technicians could not open the glove compartment, my mom did without breaking the lock. Was it they wanted to me to pay for more for nothing? Why would I even I go back when now I'm suspicious of possibly getting scammed (if not already)? The bottom line is they simply cared so little about my car and the service they provided me at the time, how can I ever think of going back? The service was awful to say the least and I did not feel they cared enough for my business or any returned business I would have given them in the long term. The only person that was kind was the receptionist during my first and last experience with Downtown Auto Edmonton repair shop. When servicing is done with care, that would be the auto repair shop you should take your business too. And in my experience, this ISN'T THE ONE. Consumer Beware! Fast forward to the Sunday when I finally take my Summer tires to put them away in the garage. I remove them and see large deep black stains everywhere. Upon smelling and looking it smells like oil. So I called Century to ask what they can do about it because they damaged my vehicle. In speaking to the owner son he was very aggressive in his tone, but told me that His tone was "fine" and then proceeded to try and tell me how it was all my fault because I took my winters out of the bags that were in and they would've just put them back into side bags. Also that the stains I have are from the tires being wet and musing with dirt, then what about the deep black one or maybe the green one that looks like violent fluid? However anytime I've ever taken my vehicle to any other place they replace the bags so I did not think it was a big deal. I also didn't anticipate that a professional business would willingly damage my vehicle and be unwilling to discuss or rectify the situation. And according to him this is not oil it is dirt. As well that Staining the entire back of my vehicles upholstery is not damaged. We have a very different view on damage clearly. At this point I highly recommend you go anywhere else. Really Midas has the greatest touch, At least when they make mistakes they fix it. Just because I'm a girl doesn't mean I don't know the difference between oil/coolant and dirt.

And these places don't pay over the counter parts pricing like most of us, they get a discount called "Jobber" pricing, guessing that fuel pump was about $180 his cost, and he charged me $700! And sadly I am a "friend of the family" and I still got charged that. That was the first, and last time I'll be using them. I totally understand marking parts up, all mechanics do that, it's just part of the deal and I accept that, but charging me $700 for a $180 fuel pump ensured I will never return to Century Motors ever again. Parts markup are usually in the 20% range, not 400%. Never again.

The car lot recommended we take car to Tichi on 142 Street. Tichi diagnosed a cracked head and it was repaired under warranty at no charge to us. Car ran fine afterwards. Later had a problem with no heat. Tichi diagnosed a faulty thermostat and repaired it at nominal cost. This year, car suffered some body damage in a parking lot incident. Worked with Kash at Tichi who recommended a body shop who did a great job fixing the damaged parts at a reasonable cost. Very happy with all work to date and will continue to use them for all work despite that the car is now in Calgary where the driver is going to school and we would have to bring it to Edmonton for repair.

The Best Auto Repair Shop in Edmonton!…read more Was referred to Tichi Auto by a tire specialist at Kal Tire as we complained it was difficult to find an honest mechanic. Only until I had a recall on my 97' Honda CRV I brought my car to the Honda dealership (on 97st) that they told me I needed about $3500 of work (which they did not provide me a list of problems to take with me to discuss with my husband). I wanted a second opinion so we went to Tichi Auto. Kash (owner/mechanic) was straight forward and honest of what was needed. He told me what the immediate concerns that had to be fixed now, what can wait and what his overall advice was. The pricing was fair and not close to ridiculous price the dealership quoted. Recalling from memory, the problems that the dealership even mentioned was not even problems that were discussed with Tichi. By repairing what was needed and a tune up (don't think I had a proper tune up until taking it to Tichi), my car has been up and running smoothly for quite a few months now. Its an older car but it feels brand new. I had my mom take her car there and it also has not had any issues since then. Being a person who knows close to nothing about cars is a prey for many to be taken advantage of. With Tichi Auto Repair you can be rest assured that they are being straight forward and honest. I'm truly grateful that finally in all the years in Edmonton I found the best place to take my car with no worries. Thank you Tichi Auto. Highly recommended!
