    Seared Scallops and Fish tacos
    Melanie Y.

My first time at deck even though I heard a lot of people come for happy hour. First of all, the food was just mid. Started off with the hamachi carpaccio and the fish was good but seasoning wise it was very bland. For our mains we got the pan seared scallops and fish tacos. Scallops were soft but that's it. It was under seasoned and the sauce didn't add much either. Not worth the $40+. The fish tacos saved the night. The fish was deep friend and crispy with a nice seasoning. Service was good, server was nice and attentive even though it was getting busy. Mainly wanted to come because the view is amazing. If you get to sit outside, you can see diamond head right in front of you and also catch a glimpse of the waikīkī sunset. It's part of a hotel so pretty sure there's parking validation but if you want free parking you can just go to the zoo and they have free parking.

Came here for a wedding and the views are so beautiful! The food was pretty standard, but the view of Diamond Head was pretty insane. The bar was poppin' and I drank wayyyy too much.. that Deck Mai Tai stuff was STRONG I was getting faded off that drank.... I need to chill out.. LOL Service was so great and I was so full just from all the mini food samplers they had the servers bring out. Definitely a beautiful spot located in Queen Kapiolani Hotel! I would come back just to see the view again, although I can see this as an issue if the weather is too rainy.

Deck is easily one of my favorite spots for its unbeatable view of Diamond Head. I could sit there for hours just taking it all in. The atmosphere is super laid back, making it perfect whether you're meeting friends or for a special celebration. Deck has become my favorite place for happy hour. There were so many great options to choose from. The food and drinks were both on point, and it's hard to beat that combination with a view like Diamond Head. Our server was top tier--constantly checking in to make sure everything was good with our drinks and food. It made the whole experience feel easy and taken care of. Parking is convenient too, with options at the hotel or right across the street, which makes it even easier to stop by.

Fun and vibrant with amazing views! Food was well executed but not super special. Would absolutely return! Mom got calamari and wedge salad - both good! I got the braised short ribs and I loved the garlic confit mashed potatoes. Service was quick and friendly enough. Even if the food was bad, I'd return for the volcano views!

Came here for pau hana. The food was delicious! The view was breathtaking, and the staff were incredibly friendly and attentive.

Great place for cocktails with a view. However, I heard they no longer have live music here, which kind of sucks. The vibe was definitely different without it. Our server was very nice, but slow. Drinks are expensive $18 but that's expected.

Amazing service. Amazing food. Amazing view. I'd stay here just for this restaurant alone.

The service here was fantastic . We made reservations and seated quickly. They had good happy hour deals. The happy hour drinks were delicious . We ordered a few appetizers - the truffle fries were crispy and a splendid starter. Brussels sprouts were great as were the sliders and fish tacos. The view for sunset was stunning - great experience overall.

Coming up here just to look at the view of Diamond Head makes this spot all worth it. Highly recommend making reservations for a brunch, but if anything the staff and aesthetically prepared and delicious food from quality ingredients are just YES. Such a great spot to celebrate any occasion, after a race, or graduation, or just simply being.

Had a reservation, but still had to wait about 20 minutes before they sat us and then it was with the stipulation that we only had 90 minutes to do whatever we had to do. This was a pretty negative way to start off. Luckily our waitress, Makayla, was really great and she helped to make things better. It was Thanksgiving Day and they offered a turkey dinner for $41, but my friend and I split a Waipoli Caesar Salad from the Happy Hour (3 to 6 pm) Menu and the half chicken with vegetables from the regular menu. It's nice that the HH Menu is good everyday, even on this holiday, because it saved us a few dollars. We also split the chicken ($32). The food was very tasty, although the salad was a bit heavy on the dressing. Our waitress misunderstood our order and had the kitchen put chicken on our salad, but she quickly took the cost of the chicken off our bill when our order was corrected; we ended up keeping the chicken on the salad and it was juicy, tender, and delicious. The little parmesan crisps that came with the salad were great, too. The half chicken was a bit on the small side. We both looked at it and thought it looked more like a large Cornish game hen instead of a chicken, but it was enough. The veggies that came with it (4 stalks of asparagus, and 4 sticks of carrot over a bed of julienned carrots and red cabbage) were very good and not overcooked, in fact, on the more crunchy side. Between the salad and chicken, we were both satisfied and just full enough. Happy with our dinner and our waitress, so would be happy to return again!

I am so happy i found this place! I don't know why it isn't more popular or I haven't seen much tiktoks about this place??? It is a bit hidden imo but deserves more recognition. I made a dinner reservation around sunset for 1 and immediately got seated however it was a while before I was approached. I am not sure if there was a confusion with how many people were going to be in my party because the host set 4 menus and a waiter finally approached me and asked the eta for the rest of my "party"? Once I mentioned i was having dinner by myself, the service i received was amazing. The server made my experience! His name is Lopoka if i'm spelling that correctly. He was very friendly, helpful and relatable. Don't get me wrong, obviously the food brings back people but it's also the customer service and because of him, if i'm ever in town again, I will be stopping by! I appreciate him putting up with me being a picky eater and being patient + answering my many questions. The food was amazing and the drink??? 11/10!! I have never had a mai tai before and this drink did not disappoint. Since I was having dinner by myself and my hotel was a lengthy walk, I stuck to one drink but I would've had more if i could've OH and the views???? I would totally recommend dinner at sunset or night! The little light/lamp at your table truly makes a difference. Lopoka also volunteered to take a couple pics of me without me asking so I really appreciate him! He would do constant check ins and again, was very relatable and I love this place!

The Deck is a great find on the south side of Waikiki. No ocean view here, but Diamond Head shows up in full glory and honestly steals the show. It feels calm, tucked away, and just far enough from the chaos to breathe. This is also the first breakfast spot where I've found a true Japanese fluffy pancake. The real deal. You do have to wait for it since these things take time to cook, and having made them myself, I respect the process. It's not fast food, it's pancake craftsmanship. My food was excellent, and judging by the plates around me, my neighbors were winning too. I'd absolutely make the trek back to this side of town for breakfast again. Worth it for the view, the vibe, and that cloud-like pancake alone.

To my surprise, on a Sunday evening after having dinner nearby at Maze, my wife and I walked over to Bar Leather Apron and we were able to get seated right away! In fact, around 7:30 p.m. when we stopped by, there was actually a ton of seating available in the bar. Who would've guessed. If you're in the same boat as me and are unable to find a reservation for your upcoming visit, I would encourage you to stop by and try a walk-in. The first page of the menu lists a wide variety of whiskey based cocktails. Most -- if not all, of the cocktails are pre-fixed with BLA (Bar Leather Apron), and represent a collaboration with the named distillery. If you're fan of whiskey, you'll definitely have a difficult time picking only one. I ultimately ordered their "Take Warning" -- 2021 BLA Knob Creek BLA Single Barrel, Cynar, Carpano Antica, Mezcal, Bergamot Salt. Drinks here are not cheap -- averaging $20 to $25 per drink. Although my drink was very spirit forward, it still felt very well balanced. I appreciated the hint of smokiness from the mezcal that rounded out the end of a sip. Service here quick and friendly. When we received the check, a cute small chocolate snack was brought over as well, borrowed from the menu at Maze. Overall, I can see why Bar Leather Apron has earned so many accolades in its field. Definitely worth a stop by if you enjoy the art of mixology.

I went with the Barreled Old Man, a smooth, layered mix of bourbon, rye, and brandy that just worked, while my wife's Sesame Veil brought a nutty, balanced flavor that stood out. For round two, the Espressing My Love was a great take on an espresso martini, and Michael built my wife a custom drink off her favorite flavors and nailed it again. We paired it with the smoked mozzarella and salami grilled cheese and Ho Farms tomato soup, and this is where it really hit.
