Feeling very indifferent about my experience at Debbie's. We were out of town guests, tourists if you will, in the cute little town of Paradise and showed up here at lunch time. Based on the parking lot, we knew it would be busy- and it was. This place is not large, but most of the tables had people sitting at them already and only a few open spots at the counter seats were available. We thought it would be fun to eat somewhere local with a small town vibe; we also assumed we would need to wait a bit and totally didn't mind... The problem was that after 20 minutes of standing in the doorway not even one employee acknowledged us. No greeting, no smile, no waitlist, nothing! The small town vibe was basically "get out." Eventually we went up to the counter and attempted to get someone's attention to get an estimate of the wait time. She rudely said, "I'm really busy here, it'll be maybe like 30 minutes. Could be less." Then she spun on her heel and turned her back to us as if we wasted her time. I have a difficult time giving this place a low review after all the town of Paradise has been through. I want to support the rebuild and convince more "tourists" like me so show up in local places just like these. Unfortunately I also can't fake that I had a good experience here. We didn't end up staying for the food, but I will hopefully get to try it next time we are in town. read more

I had a Chicken Fried Steak Sandwich which was very good, but a bit dry. Good large portion. Delicious fries. My lovely wife had a Grilled Roast Beef Sandwich that was excellenr as well. Could have used a little mayonnaise. It was very similar to the discontinued Carls Jr California Roast Beef Sandwich. read more

Very down-homey feel to the restaurant (if 1980 and a country flea market had a baby...) but that adds to its charm. Amazing pancakes - they were huge, thin, and cooked to perfection. I could only eat half of my meal. Definitely worth repeating. read more

I love this place. The biscuits and gravy are awesome. Probably eat here about twice a week now. Most of the folks working there are super friendly. There is only one that seems to be bothered that she has guests. I look forward to not having her be our server, cause that is the only thing that dampers our visits. Normally we love Debbie's, but lately they've been very slow. Getting there as their fifth table (others already having their food) we immediately ordered as we sat down. But after over 45 minutes of other tables walking in, ordering, and getting their food quickly we tried to signal a waitress to ask how much longer it would be but we're ignored so we had to go up to the counter and they said we were the next ticket. read more

Came here walk in not one of the workers said a word to us. There was a place to put your name in we did still no word. Than they call our name. Most places I been too if there a child they bring Crayons and paper we had to ask. Our waitress had a attitude. We had our menu close she brought coffee and water than walk away. We had to wait for her to Come back. And when she took are order the Attitude came out again. Even made a comment about how she was running out of room on the tablet she was writing on. The food is good here especially the pancakes. I don't come here often cause I am A visitor to the area but it seem to me they need to work on there customer service. Best pancakes in Butte County. Thin and chewy with a crispy edge. Food is always freshly prepared and served as ordered. Over-easy eggs come out as over-easy, not over-medium as in most restaurants. Always a treat to come here. read more

After a couple year hiatus, we went back and overall a big improvement. Food was served hot, and was tasty. Service was much better also. Blueberry pancakes are crepe like and very flavorful. Really enjoyed them! We met friends here for brunch. Service was slow, then when food arrived everybody's was warmish, except my whole meal was cold, the butter wouldn't even melt on the pancakes. They took it back to re-cook me a new hot plate. Our table had almost finished their meal and mine hadn't come back yet. I told them to just cancel mine since everybody else was finishing. Just then they brought mine back out and left it. This one had a hot plate, but again the food wasn't warm enough for the butter to melt. We told them to take it back and I wasn't going to eat here, I'd figure something out. My husband had half a cold plate but didn't send his back. Overall, it was a huge disappointment. This place is great and also just celebrated their 30th anniversary.I went in for brunch with my family and the experience was fantastic, with good sized meals at a decent prices. I ordered the Debbie's special biscuits and gravy, it was to die for! The gravy is made each day from scratch with two pounds of bacon. I barely finished my meal of mouth watering biscuits and gravy, home style potatoes, two eggs over easy, and two good pieces of bacon. The service was great and the employees were very kind. Best pancakes I've ever had. Iv'e been around to just a bout every place in paradise with pancakes either re-heated or like concrete or some other funkiness like forgetting to put enough baking powder in or none at all. A pancake ought to be like a ballet - light and fluffy and warmly flavorful. They are crispy and a bit thin like crapes but don't let that fool you. They are satisfying. I'm hooked! read more

Since moving to Paradise a year and a half ago, I can say I have now tried just about every place around here for breakfast. Nothing even comes close to Debbie's. The food is fresh, prepared correctly and the service is spectacular. Other reviewers have mentioned that sometimes the food here is to "plain". Well America, that's what happens when you're busy shoveling down grease soaked butter stuffed triple fried omelette's and hash-browns from the likes of Kalico Kitchen and Cozy Diner etc. Besides that the prices are really reasonable here compared to say Black Bear Diner, and the food is better, so it's a win win. So next time you need some more flavor, maybe lay off of the popular trans-fat swathed cooking of the 70's and 80's and come enjoy a FRESH consistent breakfast in a great atmosphere. read more

As a breakfast connoisseur, I have tried literally EVERY single restaurant that serves breakfast in the area. Debbies is the best around and I found it right in my beloved town of Paradise. If you are not a resident, it is worth the drive. The pancakes are phenomenal. Thin and crisp. The hash browns are crisped to perfection and cooked to order. I've tried a lot of their menu items but in trying to take it slow. I will be eating at this restaurant as long as their doors remain open. Which hopefully is for a very long time. It doesn't get better. Ingredients are fresh, prices are fair, waitstaff is fast and friendly, and the food is crazy good. read more

The manager is horrid, and doesn't like children apparently, so if you have kids dont bring them to eat with you here, you will get terrible service if you do. I recommend Donna's kitchen over Debbie's anyday! read more

Ordered a Denver omelet and added tomatoes. Saw a few pieces of ham (very few) and a couple pieces of tomatoes. Just assumed they would use cheddar cheese but it was covered inside and out with American cheese - yuk!! Would be nice if they let you know in advance if they're using fake cheese. I would say the omelets at Denny's are better. read more
