Visited May 15 2026. I met my girlfriend here as we were going to go shopping at the mall in Yuba City. It's a very small restaurant but they have plenty of outdoor seating. DOG friendly outside. I didn't give them 5 stars because they seemed engaged with the locals. Slow service. We split the breakfast sammy which was good but nothing special. Best Huevos rancheros I've ever had. Absolutely incredible. The chorizo was perfectly spiced, beans, perfectly cooked, beautiful avocado on top. I brought mom here after her doctor's appointment to have breakfast. I've been here a few times and most recently I've had the chance to try their sourdough pancake. As my kids would say, O.M.G! The crispy edges, soft center,and the tang of tasty sourdough, pure heaven!! I also had their traditional sausage, bacon, egg and hash browns. Yum. Lots of food for a big eater but for me more than enough to take some home. The place is a standard cafe in size, cute and cozy. They have booths and table seating. Delicious! 5 of us had breakfast here this morning. The food was delicious! I had chicken fried steak with eggs over easy. Nice piece of tender beef deep cried crispy with a nice milk sausage gravy poured over the top the country potatoes were ok but when mixed into the gravy and popped yolks of the eggs, they were delicious! Two people had the avocado toast, one had the breakfast burrito and the last had steak and eggs. Everyone liked their meal. Please see pictures and let your eyes feast! The decorations of the restaurant are very comfy and friendly feeling. The service was good, but lacking just a bit in friendliness. Coming from the Bay Area I always look forward to visiting small private owned restaurants. They are generally more friendly and welcoming than the chain restaurants. You can't miss it when passing by cute planters outside with string outdoor lights. Cute simple design which adds to the welcoming atmosphere. As soon as you walk in it's loud but a nice loud. You hear people talking with voices of enjoyment and music. There is a sign to sign in on a line paper note pad and wait to be seated. While waiting there's a menu on the wall so you can look at what you want while waiting. On the shelf to sign in there are local businesses and games and fun things for the kiddos. There are booths, bar stool table, tables for two, and tables for bigger parties. The menu is specific and has something for everyone, Very diverse. I was feeling like a simple small breakfast and there was a lovely selection for someone feeling more peckish than looking for a full meal. Which simplified it for me. Drink menu had so many nice options and there's a cute non-alcoholic Mommy mimosa which I was feeling like treating myself this morning so I asked and the waitress was very sweet, and attentive. Gave me a lovely recommendation for a sweet mimosa and it was perfect. Avocado toast was great every thing so fresh and egg made nicely. There were so many great raving reviews and this place did not disappoint. Even your simple very day coffee was delicious. Even though it was loud it was not disturbing I was able to read my book and make my notes in peace ( but I also have six kids at home so that could just be me) haha. The service has been pretty mediocre now when we come in, when it's the mom and daughter working we can hardly get menus or even acknowledged for drinks without waiting for longer than 5 minutes. When we came in there were only 3 tables of a party of 2 already almost finished up plates pretty slow. We sat waiting at the door for at least for 4 minutes to start barely acknowledged. Normally I don't mind because I'm a server my self and understand. We haven't been back for a while because of the service alone, the food is always great but I can't help but to sit and be treated poorly with an expected tip. Lambert House Cafe is a homey, eclectic cafe with cute decor everywhere. Our waitress was friendly and our food came fast. My egg white omelette was fluffy and filled with spinach, mushrooms and onions. It was served with perfectly cooked crispy hash browns. I subbed my toast for a sourdough pancake. I been eating at Lamberts for years and I love this place. I highly recommend this place for breakfast and lunch. I was not disappointed, every visit is awesome, the staff was super friendly, and the food was delicious I definitely will keep coming back for more. This hole in the wall place is kind of unique in every way. The food was very good and the prices are average fair and reasonable compared to all other places. What I have loved the most is that you get a pleasurable smiles and greetings upon entering through the front door. You always get the feeling that your so glad you ate at Lamberts cafe. Oh my!! Upon entering this establishment I noticed a terrible smell- burning old vegetable oil. But my party sat down because we had always had good service before. Then we started looking at each other in amazement- the song playing loudly was in fact profanity and lewd language about the abuse of a woman and was encouraging the behavior to listeners. I asked the server if the music was appropriate for a cafe. She asked the cook to turn it down. He turned it up. Needless to say we left and will not be going back. read more

Once you walk in it's a sweet little place but the flies are more welcoming then the waitress. We just moved to the area so we want to try every local restaurant and support the community. Moved to town a few months back and people had recommended this restaurant. I'm can't understand all the positive feedback. I rarely leave reviews, but I'd rather save you all some money. The biscuit was extremely dry (even under all the gravy) and had no flavor. The gravy itself wasn't terribly flavorful either. And in my scrambled eggs I had bits of egg shell...not a nice texture to bite into. Boyfriend's chicken fried steak seemed like it had been previously frozen, and again, not very flavorful. He liked the gravy okay, but we both agreed it was no where near worth the hype or price. Bummer, because the inside is quirky and cute. Oh well. read more

I love supporting local businesses so it pains me to say this. I came across this gem a couple of years ago, and loved the cafe and staff. The food is so yummy. The last 3 times i've came to this cafe have been such a different experience. The waitresses truly have ruined my love for this wonderful place. One experience i had was being brought my bill with my food and multiple stops every few minutes asking if we had our cards ready, then another waitress comes by and drops another copy of the bill off to our table. Mind you there was no reason to rush, as there was no line or wait, it was a weekday. A couple of my last encounters have just been very unwelcoming waitress staff, there is a specific woman who has been around for most of these last encounters, but just overall ruined my love for this place. Well we tired this place today ...service wasn't very well ...food was ok ... def not worth the money spent for breakfast ...

The entire experience was just okay. It's a very small place. The food was also okay. The servers were nice enough. The food took a very long time to come out. So long I was thinking about leaving actually. There were only two people in our party so I don't know what was up with that. The dining room wasn't even at capacity. They do have pretty good country gravy but the biscuit tasted old and was crumbly. I will try again and maybe go earlier next time? I like to give a small shop a chance. read more

Came here again after almost a year because the last time we came the food wasn't too good, came in today and it's still not that great the country potato's were hard and not cooked enough and I added onion and green peppers to my hashbrowns and they weren't cooked just raw vegetables on top off my hash brown very weird. Today...was a terrible experience. We waited 40 mins before we got any food as did the rest of the restaurant, I looked around at 1 point and every table was waiting for food except one, I understand being busy and getting food slowly but no food was coming out. Our waitress never checked on us, our drinks were never refilled and to top it off our food was not good!!! Burnt meat and veggies in an omelet and potatoes so soaked in grease they were inedible.
