The service made the experience even worse. The blonde waitress was rude and very slow. I tried to give her the benefit of the doubt because the restaurant was busy, but after dropping off the food, she never came back to check on us. When I eventually went to complain about the food, her attitude was negative rather than apologetic or helpful. I understand that mistakes happen, especially when a restaurant is busy. What really disappointed me was the combination of poorly prepared food, the long wait, and the attitude when I tried to address the issue. Which just added to the overall disappointment. It was satisfying enough, except the breading for the chicken was SO SALTY that it overpowered everything. I really was struck by the large amount of salt used. After Ed took some bites of his it became apparent it wasn't a Cuban Sandwich but rather the Cali Chicken Sandwich, confirmed on the bill. Jenny, the owner, greeted me with a smile, took my order herself, and made me feel welcome right away. She had a great attitude, explained the menu options, and genuinely seemed to care about her customers. The food came out hot and quickly, and it was absolutely delicious. You can tell they put effort into both the quality of the food and the overall customer experience. From the cleanliness, to the friendly service, to the excellent food, everything was top-notch. I was surprised that the bacon were just small little pieces with what looked like tater tots. You pick up the food at the counter and seat yourself. The eggs were cool to the touch. Biscuits were pretty good. The gravy made it better! Not what I was expecting but still ok. I only had a few bites and brought it back to my friends place. He enjoyed it ALOT more than I did! Manuel was friendly and helpful but the lady was was not very welcoming (Putting that nicely! ) It's retro inside and also serves beer and sodas along with coffee and other items. I was hoping they had some premade breakfast croissants but only saw breakfast burritos. The girl that waited on me was pleasant, and the coffee menu had alot of iced and hot options. The iced coffee was good and was satisfying while driving. There is no inside seating but they do have some outside seating. They also had some muffins and the menu offers breakfast dishes to order. Nice stop for a early Sunday morning when there is limited options open in Colusa.
