I hate to write a negative review of a small local business but in this case I must. The service is atrocious--the lady taking orders always seems annoyed that you are bothering her by being there. The food is okay. I've had the breakfast sandwich and a salad. They were certainly edible but nothing to write home about. If the owners are reading this: please look into your staffing because the woman up front is doing you no favors. read more

Been here a couple times during work in the past year, the only thing that was good was korean fries, everything else was just disappointing. Now the fries is horrible too. Overly fried and salty as hell, plus salty meat and salty sauce. Please fire people who know how to make food! Clean cafeteria style with a twist along with the wonderful ambience makes the experience even better. Food is delicious and freshly cooked. All I had was the best grilled cheese sandwich. Toast was crunchy and melted cheese was just right. I noticed that everything was freshly cooked and in view of the customers. We will be back again! read more

I drove 3 hours early in the morning and didn't have anything to eat. I wanted to quickly grab a banana before my meeting, and the lady on the counter just offered it for free. I was so thankful and decided to order lunch here later in the day. I ordered as a side dish, their Korean fries. I'm Korean and I'm not too fond of fusion dishes... but I decided to try this since I love fries. Wow!!! The Korean fries were AMAZING! Huge portion. Best flavor. This is the place to go. It's modern and clean style matches the inside esthetic. I wouldn't have thought this place existed inside the cal-trans building. Food is so perfectly flavored. On different occasions, I've had the Teri chicken, biscuits and gravy, as well as the yum corn beef hash, which was a spicy and amazing surprise. My go-to fav is the Clara's favorite omelette. It never disappoints with ample amounts of bacon, mushroom and avo. I love the living room Style cozy seating options. I feel that I stay longer than I should when seated there. 2 Bits Express is my go-to for breakfast and lunch at least twice a week. I love the Early Bird Special and the Skinny Chicken Salad as well as the daily specials and rotating soup of the day. I was at the cafe on 11/5/2024, the same day as David K. The cafe was inundated with about twice the normal customers due to a large meeting being held in the building. It took longer than normal for the food to come out, but the staff remained friendly and professional and handled the very large lunch crowd. If you happened to be there on that day and experienced a long wait for your food, you should really try it again as the food is delicious and served generously and this was not a normal day at the cafe. read more

I have been exploring places to lunch at or grab dinner to go on my way home. I work in this area and this place stood out to me after looking at pics on Yelp. First, it is part of the CalTrans building, but it easy enough to get to and you can see it from outside on the first floor. In fact, they have outdoor dining which is nice. It is cafeteria style where you order, pay, then sit down. I got the melt sandwich. That's not exactly what it's called, but you'll know it when you see it on the menu. It comes with avocado, cheese, bacon, tomato, and then your choice of sandwich meat. I got it with corned beef. Overall, it was good, but a little gready for my taste. Then again, it is a melt, I think I just ordered the wrong thing for myself. Nothing wrong with the dish. It came with fries that were good, too. Lots of space inside and out. Fast service. Can't complain and I'll return if I'm looking for a spot to have lunch with a group. read more

New to the CalTrans building, the 2Bits Express is perfect. The breakfast items are all fresh, the biscuits and gravy are good and abundant. I can't finish a breakfast burrito that is scratch made to order. The scratch salsa is crazy good! The Ruben sandwich is perfection. Some places think if you pile on ingredients, soak the bread in butter and grill it up and send it out that it will be a good sandwich, not so. There has to be a balance and 2Bits has got it! Best Ruben outside of my own I have had in Marysville. I also love the little extra items they have for sale for the people in the building, gum, chips, a travel sewing kit in case you drop a hem. Omg, I can't even....the farm to table concept is really important to me. It's my opinion we live in an area severely lacking in "whole food" options and an over abundance of Sysco boxes food. Every item on 2 Bits menu is jaw dropping. Literally, you take the first bite and your jaw drops because it can't believe the perfection that just hit it and it waits to chew so as to keep the delight lasting as long as possible. Have no fear, mouth, the next bite and every bit after will be just as perfectly satisfying! We eat here at least three times a week. I'm one of those people that really appreciates convenience and getting in and out quickly. The patio dinning for breakfast was amazing. Nice covered area plenary of space between tables and the service is perfect. Food came out too oily and potatoes was cold and burned, avocado was old with black spots all over, the bread was burned. The whole dish looked unhealthy and looked like from yesterday. We got breakfast today. Absolutely amazing French toast. I like my milk really cold and said I would like some ice in it. The gentleman ( I assume the owner or manger) put it in the freezer while the food was prepared and it came out freezing cold! Just what I wanted and in a huge glass. We also got biscuits and gravy but they were just ok compared to the French toast. We plan to go again in the morning.
