Cute, quaint B&B lover looking New Brighton Beach and the Pacific Ocean. Beautiful well maintained grounds. Very nice workers. Our room, the butterfly, had all the necessities but could use some updating. The TV, linens and some furniture were a bit dated. The TV, while small, has Spectrum cable with Showtime. The internet was blazing fast. The breakfast is served to your room. I felt sorry for the lady that brought it because the tray was HEAVY. It had a carafe of coffee, 2 OJs, 2 large fruit cups, and a tray of pasties. Real cutlery, plate and cups, no plastic. The fruit cups had fresh watermelon, bananas, strawberries, cantaloupe and more. Very reasonable price. Despite its quirks, would definitely stay here again.

Visited with my partner during Memorial Day weekend to celebrate our anniversary, and we truly had the best time and wish we extended our stay! Romantic, quaint, quiet, inspiring and calming. We immediately were impressed by the property - towering eucalyptus trees wrapped in ivy, monarch butterflies everywhere, large deck with adirondack chairs overlooking the ocean (just bring a bottle of wine & enjoy!!), blooming flowers surround the most quintessential Victorian cottages, bald eagles circling above and clear ocean views. Katrina and her long haired dachshund gave us an incredibly lovely tour of the property (equip with the history of the space + ownership) before showing us to our room. The room was comfortable, adorable and clean and had an ocean view (to our surprise!!). Every morning, the hotel staff brought a platter of breakfast to our room, featuring local pastries, a carafe of coffee, fresh cut fruit and orange juice. Overall, I we felt this place was so magical and are already planning our next trip back!! We also are looking at their wedding offerings

We loved our stay here! The space is so beautiful, peaceful, and charming. Super close to downtown capitola area, walking distance. We stayed in the rose garden suite, and I could stare out at that view forever. You can hear the movement upstairs pretty easily but it wasn't too bad. Bed was super comfy, breakfast pastries and coffee delivered to your door the following morning! We will be back for sure.

Amazing location right on the ocean! Super cuuute old-time house with so much charm on beautiful grounds. A nice walk through the neighborhood and alongside the ocean to capitola village.

What a cute B&B! We stayed here for my husband's bday and we enjoyed it so much! We loved it! The grounds are beautiful, plants, fountains, the beach, free breakfast, and scenic views. We stayed in the Rose Garden Suite and it was lovely. There was a kitchen with a microwave, a fridge, and they had kitchen supplies and cookware. No phone in the room but it was no big deal. The TV was a flat screen and it was perfectly situated in the bedroom. They bring breakfast at 09:00am (they have to enter your room so make sure you don't put the "do not disturb" sign on otherwise you'd miss your breakfast!) Customer service was great and the place was clean!

My husband surprised me with a birthday weekend getaway here. We stayed in the Holiday House because we brought our pup. We had SUCH a good time! Our dog did too the enclosed backyard was fabulous for a pet friendly room. It was a quiet weekend and the service was excellent. I am already looking at dates for next year.

What a hidden little gem!! The grounds are beautiful, so many spots to sit and look down at the ocean, plus a little nestled monarch sanctuary! About a 10 minute easy walk to downtown Capitola, breakfast delivered to your room in the morning, and dog friendly! We will definitely be going back to explore some of the other rooms. We stayed in the Monarch room which was a great size, comfortable, nice firm bed, great soaking tub,...but keep in mind the rooms can get chilly but they provide little heaters. So glad we found this place!

Well this place really goes above and beyond. Their rooms are nice and clean, beds are comfortable with plenty of pillows, and I loved how there were two sinks- one inside the bathroom and the other outside. The location was perfect- accessible to everything: food, grocery store, mall, about a 5 min drive away from the water and the pier. I knew they had a complimentary breakfast but this was a whole new level: make your own waffle station, make your own parfait station with fresh berries in individual cups, granola, chocolate chips, cereal, muffins, bagels, English muffins, and bread. They had little individual peanut butter, jellies, and Nutella. If that wasn't enough, they had the hot food with bacon, eggs, and biscuits with sausage gravy. If you need anything, they text you from number and you can text them with anything you need: housekeep services, requests for towels, etc. Will definitely stay here again if staying in Capitola.

All I got was what card do you want to use enter it here, then here's 2 keys and park in garage. I had to ask where the garage was that's how bad this guy did with checking me in. After we checked in and got to the room it was nice my kids got a kick out the small balcony we stayed on the second floor. The staff that served breakfast and room service did amazing. They greeted us every time we crossed paths with a good morning, or enjoy your day. It definitely made up for the lack of customer service at the front desk. We drove to the civic auditorium and the boardwalk both took just a 15 min drive from the hotel. Is this the nicest hotel you can find around Santa Cruz / Capitola / Aptos? No. Does this hotel have the best beach views? No. Is this hotel the best overall value for family looking for a beach weekend? No. Instead, if you and your partner are looking for a phenomenal location, super cute rooms, great service, and a location that is unbelievable, then you should stay here. The hotel has a bit of a B&B vibe, but each room has its own bathroom, and there is no need to share space with other guests. The rooms are small, but cozy and clean. There is "OK" WiFi, a mini-fridge, a TV, etc. We booked the "Nevis" room, as it is the only room with an Ocean View. (The View is across the center of the village, but still, you can see and hear the ocean. If you want Ocean View / Ocean Front, this is not your hotel.) The main reason to stay at Capitola Hotel is to come to the Village, park your car, and be done with the car for the duration of your stay. EVERYTHING is within walking distance or a short Uber. You can hit the shops, the restaurants, the beach, the bars, etc. with a short flip-flop walk from the front door. If you book early, they have garage parking, which is EPIC in Capitola Village. They also have beach chairs, umbrellas, etc. that you can use free of charge. There's coffee and lite breakfast in the morning, and happy hour in the evening. My wife's comment after we settled in was literally, "OK, you need to book this room, for this weekend, every year, for the next ten years."

I was trying to be very specific with where we stayed as we wanted a great view of the ocean within walking distance of the shops and beach, all without spending an arm and a leg. Check-in was rocky. Their system was declining all of our cards even though we tried four different ones from different banks. Luckily, we had enough cash on hand to pay the balance. The outside of the building was pretty worn down and dirty and the parking spots were SUPER tight. However, Room 6 was absolutely adorable and clean and they had the rollaway bed we ordered ready to go inside the closet. The view was exactly what we were hoping for and we had easy access to the communal terrace! The fireplace on the terrace came in handy since it was chilly and they had latches placed just right on the sliding doors so you could leave it open to fall asleep to the sounds of the ocean, but still be secure and safe. Definitely willing to come back for another trip and would love to check out the top floor!

The little kitchenette was very handy, especially when we wanted to heat up our leftovers. For our room (rm 8) specifically, we couldn't get the TV to work and the plug on the outlet to the lamp was always loose. Thusly, the lamp may or may not work depending on whether I'm paying attention to the plug being on the outlet. Due to our length of stay, we expected housekeeping to come through at some point to collect our trash and dirty towels. However, that was not the case. We had to walk down to the office to request for towels and bring them back to our room. Our trash was also overflowing due to the fact that nobody came by to take it out. There are no outlets near the bed (not a deal breaker but an inconvenience) and shampoo, conditioner and shower gel is provided in those push bottles attached to the shower wall. The building is located near a highway and is easily assessable from the back and front. Some concerns about privacy and security but we had no issues during our stay there. If you just want a place to stay with some basic amenities, this would be the place to be; otherwise, look elsewhere.
