I love the ambiance of this place, I came here with a friend on a Tuesday and the dining room was about half empty around 6:30pm. We were quickly greeted and seated right away. However, the attentiveness did not continue onto the rest of the evening. Drinks and food here were great, but the portions were on the smaller side. Prices were on the expensive side coming in around $18-$25/drink and $25-$40/entree. +1 Vibe +1 Taste +1 Presentation +0 Service +0 Value

A cozy little place! Had some aesthetic looking food but the best part is the cocktails! One of the top cocktails I've had from all the places I've been to recently. Plenty of people just come here and chill at the bar area, ordering just the drinks! 4/5 because the flavor of the food was not quite there but everything else was great!

Hands down the best empanadas in my life. Even better when it's 20% off during happy hour. Highly recommend this cute spot!!

Great chill vibe! The server was working overtime as host, bartender, and everything else. While we didn't eat, we grabbed a few cocktails and enjoyed the relaxing environment!

Cool bar with an interesting concept. Dead Line is one of the many hip places in Pioneer Square. It gets its name from the history of Yesler Way. Back in the day it was known as the line between Seattle's poor and wealthy areas. The bar features a generous happy hour for cocktails, along with small bites and plates. Best part about it is there's opportunities to save money every time coming. It's got an everyday happy hour. This is between 3 and 6, weekdays and weekends. Good prices after including it. It's about $11 for most cocktails, but of course that's at regular. Got us a couple including the Flora & Fauna. This is made with Cachaca, guava syrup, lime peel, orange, rose water, and soda water. It's about $7 for snacks. We got Spiced Nuts and shared this. Basic. This of course had a good spiciness. Has limited vegetarian friendly choices. The Crispy Potato Tacos are good, but they're $17 and small for tacos. Good bar in a pretty busy area. It's located on 1st Avenue close to Yesler Way, which has quite a history as mentioned. They have a happy hour, and while the food menu is pretty expensive, there's a few things for vegans and vegetarians.

This is some of the best food I ate in Seattle! Their vibes are immaculate and the food was beyond delicious. Literally cannot go wrong with anything you order from their menu. I also really loved all of their drinks as they were super delicious. The staff at this bar/restaurant was also very interactive, paid close attention to detail, and rectified a dish when the inner portion arrived frozen on the beef arepa. Nonetheless I had an amazing experience and really want folks to give this place a shot!

A true hidden gem in Pioneer Square. I was walking around Pioneer Square before a Mariner's game and stumbled upon Deadline. Once you enter you feel transported into a beautiful elegant space. The staff was friendly and made sure we had what we needed. For drinks, we got Chatty Kathy, Tarragon Negroni, and a Paloma. All the drinks were delicious and made to perfection. For food, we got the Charcuterie board and the Garlic Parmesan Fries. The Charcuterie board was perfectly curated. I loved the mini pickles and pickled peppers that accompanied the meats and cheeses. I think the star of the show was the Garlic Parmesan Fries. They were so crispy and covered the garlic parmesan perfection. I still think about these Garlic Parmesan Fries to this day. I can't wait to come back to try new drinks and order those Garlic Parmesan Fries.

Popped in for dessert & delighted to find seasonal pumpkin cheesecake on the menu. Great old-timey Seattle brick building in a cleaned-up rejuvenated Pioneer Square. Check it out!

We had a dinner - date night and enjoyed our meal here. It had a speakeasy type of ambiance and was relatively quiet. We ordered the braised pork arepas and the charred octopus. The food had great texture and flavor particularly the arepa. It had a deep fried corn base with tender pork on top and bits of juicy pear. A very nice contrast and something we would recommend

Came in for dinner and cocktails and loved the ambiance and decor. Saw about 5 tables of people on dates so very intimate and romantic. The bar has a large selection of liquors and has a great cocktail selection, made with fresh ingredients. The customer service was excellent. They checked on us often and gave great recommendations. Food was delicious. We got the chicken sandwich and the jumbo shrimp. Shrimp was on the pricey side for 3 shrimps. But it was huge. The chicken sandwich was crispy and juicy with perfectly cooked fries. Cocktails, we got the old fashion and the Casamento. Both wonderful made and tasty Parking is a little difficult,

The First Gentleman was attentive and we got our drinks and an appetizer timely. We ordered our second appetizer with our first server and thats where the service deteriorated. I could hear the table next to us ordered the exact same appetizer as we did 10-15 mins after we did and a new server who must had just clocked in brings them the order literally within 2-3 mins later and the male commented, "oh that was fast" and I thought to myself they got our order. Another 10-15 mins go by and I had to ask "do you know how long our order will take to which she seemed to get annoyed. It could have my energy because by that time I was annoyed. I'm not sure what happened to our original server but he must have gotten off. About 5-10 mins goes by and here it comes. That confirmed the table next to us got our order because of how long it took. They never apologized for their mistake. Doing all that time they never came back to see if we would like another drink. I had to flag someone down. The clincher was we got our bill and there was 22% service charge. That was on me because if I would have seen it I might not have gone. I'm not a fan of automatically charging a service charge. I'm a great tipper but it must be earned. By than I was really annoyed and thought to have a conversation with the manager but let it go. I would not go back. The craft cocktails are spendy but I had no problem with that because they're creative and they earned it by being creative. But the energy and the environment wasn't like the other speak easy bars I visited. It was boring and to top it off the service charge of 22% and the service that came with it sealed it for me. Make sure to read the website on their thought around the 22%.

I also had El Boho (flavorful but not overly sweet). The staff are always friendly and very knowledgeable when it comes to recommending drinks. The prices are on the higher end, but personally I think they're totally worth it for the creativity and overall experience. This is the spot I bring all my out-of-town friends to because the ambiance, vibes, and drinks are just that good. Truly one of Seattle's gems.

Roquette was a surprisingly small space with a wonderful vibe serving up "destination" bar-worthy cocktails. It reminded me of some of the neighborhood gem cocktail bars that I'd frequented on the East Coast. I grabbed a seat at the bar. Roquette's lineup of cocktails were varied in flavor profile using a wide range of spirits. They also served non-alcoholic offerings which looked equally intriguing as their boozy selections. I started off with the 99 Problems ($28), which, unfortunately, I forgot to note what was in the drink. It was boozy, clever, inventive, and most importantly delicious. My second drink was the Imperium Old Fashioned ($24) made with Westland Whiskey "Roquette" Barrel, Clement Cask Strength Rhum, Old Delicious Apple Brandy, Pineapple, and Spice. It was an excellent, boozy, balanced update to the classic Old Fashioned. Although I went with drinks off their menu, I have no doubt that any of their skilled bar professionals could've crafted me a wonderful cocktail if I had simply requested a classic or something on the fly based on my choice of spirit and desired flavor profile. Yes, the prices on the two drinks I ordered were pretty steep, but they were comparable to prices I've paid in Las Vegas. Plus, I don't have a problem with paying a premium for a well-made cocktail made with premium ingredients in a comfortable, welcoming setting (the drunken guy next to me who tried to engage with me in a political discussion excluded). Bottom-line: Roquette was a revelation. It served up two of the best cocktails that I've had this year. I can't recommend it enough and it'll be at the top of my list of places to hit the next time I'm in town.

While reservations aren't technically required, let me save you some heartbreak, make one. They only open reservations six days in advance, and this place fills up faster than brunch spots when the sun comes out in Seattle. Totally worth the planning. The experience starts downstairs at Tavern Law restaurant, where you let the host know you're headed to Needle and Thread. From there, you're directed to a mysterious locked door next to a telephone. Yes, an actual phone. Pick it up, give your reservation name once someone answers, and bam! You're buzzed upstairs like you've just passed a very classy secret test. Once inside, you're greeted and escorted to your seat, and the magic really begins. There's no drink menu because why limit creativity? Instead, the staff plays cocktail therapist, asking about your favorite spirits, flavors, and moods. Based on your answers, they craft a completely custom drink tailored to your palate. Every cocktail we tried was spot-on. Balanced, intentional, and clearly made by people who treat mixology like an art form rather than a guessing game. Bonus points: You can request the coaster they took your order on, which lists the ingredients so you can attempt to recreate it at home (results may vary depending on your confidence and liquor cabinet.) Not to be overshadowed by the drinks, the Sockeye Salmon Crostini was a fantastic fresh, flavorful appetizer and the perfect companion to a night of bespoke cocktails. They have other heartier food as well, but we had dinner reservations elsewhere for the evening. Between the immersive entrance, outstanding service, thoughtful drinks, and authentic speakeasy atmosphere, this isn't just a bar, it's an experience. If you're in the Capitol Hill neighborhood of Seattle, Needle and Thread is a must try.

Instagram : @yeapeats…read more I was excited to try Needle & Thread since it's often described as a speakeasy, but the "hidden" aspect didn't quite live up to expectations. Unlike other speakeasies that feel truly hidden, you actually just walk into Tavern Law, check in with the hostess, and let them know you have a reservation. They then guide you to a telephone where you repeat your reservation name before being let upstairs. It's a fun concept, but not especially secretive, and they're pretty strict about not letting you up early unless it's very empty. Once seated, we actually waited almost 20 minutes before being served with no acknowledgement. We ended up having to flag down the manager just to bring attention to our table, which was disappointing given the experience they're aiming for. The waitress asks a series of questions about your preferences--likes, dislikes, and flavor inspirations--so the bartenders can create custom cocktails for you. If you're knowledgeable about alcohol, this is probably a dream. If you're not (like me), it can feel a little intimidating, but our waitress was patient and did her best to guide us through it. The drinks themselves were excellent. Even the shots were customized, which was a nice touch. The vibe upstairs is chill and relatively quiet, making it a great place to relax and talk. Food is the same menu as downstairs at Tavern Law, so nothing new there. The only downside--and unfortunately a noticeable one--was an interaction with the female bartender (not our waitress). Based on the questions we were asked, my friend gave a mix of savory and sweet preferences, since we were told these were just inspirations. However, the female bartender came over sounding visibly annoyed and said, "So do you want savory or sweet? You're giving contradicting answers." The tone felt unnecessarily rude, especially since we were just following the process as it was explained to us. Overall, the drinks were great and the concept is unique, but between the delayed service and that negative interaction, it definitely put a damper on the experience.
