The p1 is one of my favorite dishes of all time. Ambience is not the point. Good food, fast service, no ops. Don't get the hot pot.

Snow V3. Sauteed Pea Sprouts with Chopped Garlic

Came here for lunch, note there are no lunch specials. All the same menu. I ordered the snow pea veggie dish, which came with a side of rice. It was spot on. Loved the healthy option this place offered. The potion was gigantic, must've been at least a pound of the veggie. So definitely good value!

WOW. This place deserves 6 stars. If you like szechuan/spicy Chinese food, you NEED to come here. Seriously. Came in half an hour before closing and every single dish was amazing. I'm from NYC, which has no deficit of authentic Szechuan restaurants in flushing and Manhattan, but I can honestly say that this place is one of the best and it's a shame that I don't live in Ithaca to eat here more often. It's the perfect combination of great food and great prices. The prices here cannot be beat. Most of our dishes were less than $20. The food: again, every single dish we got was great. Beef stir fried with hot chili peppers, popcorn chicken with chili peppers (la zhi ji), lamb with cumin, and mao xue wan were all 10/10. The egg drop soup with beef was delicious too. The owner is really humble and came to ask for feedback after the meal and said that he uses customer feedback to improve their food. But honestly, I would come back just for the food alone. Price is a bonus. Note that they changed owners about 10 months ago.

A2. Dumplings in Red Chili Oil

Located in a basement storefront, I'm giving this place 4 stars instead of 3 simply because of the relative dearth of other Chinese food in the local area. We ordered a dry pot fish filet, which had decent spicy seasonings and a mix of vegetables but the pieces of fish filet were on the mushier side. We ended up ordering the dry sautéed string beans after we were told they were out of both the snow pea leaves and Chinese spinach... the string beans were flavored well but were limp and over cooked. The dumplings in red chili sauce were pretty good. Overall, a just-okay meal at just-okay prices

This was such a fun experience!! If you're in the area and are looking for something authentic, unique, delicious, and fun, check out De Tasty Hot Pot! I have to admit we chose this place solely because of the name. I was looking for something good to eat on a girls trip and the name popped out at me. So I looked up the menu and looked good so we thought why not?? The door to get in is downstairs, like down below street level! So at first we thought it wasn't open when we arrived. When we got in we didn't know to ask for a hot pot table versus regular Chinese food menu. So we were at a regular table. Know this when you go if you will want the hot pot. Once we got to our table we ordered the beef combo hot pot because we were overwhelmed with all the different options! We figured this way we would be able to try the specialty. Also it was refreshing to see so many students there of different cultures all enjoying this food! It was like fondue with broth instead of cheese or oil! Everything was good, the beef was delicious, the different sauces were a nice addition so we could make it more for our own flavor. Advise- if you haven't been, ask them to explain! The servers were nice but to the point!

I came here a while ago, but this place has the most authentic Chinese food in Collegetown. The location is definitely hidden from a lot of places and even I will forget about it from time to time. However, if you want good Chinese food, come here. I'm not familiar with their hotpot at all, so I cannot comment on that. Food: They have a good selection of vegetable, meat, and seafood dishes. They were all tasty. Service: It was great! They were attentive and was always happy to help when we needed something. Price: Not too bad and is reasonable for dishes at Chinese restaurants, and even more reasonable for something in Collegetown. Ambiance: Nothing too special and pretty standard for Chinese restaurants. Lighting is somewhat dim.

There is public parking near by, and this restaurant is in the basement. There is plenty of space inside and there are designed table for hot pot. I chose the spicy dishes and they were all very delicious. Their price is reasonable for a Chinese restaurant and tip is already added to the final bill. I want to try their lunch special next time.

The people there do not speak English very well except for this one younger girl. Service isn't the best but the food is so good. I love getting their la zhi ji and the dry hot pot beef. This is a must-go. The portions are generous and the dishes are flavorful and perfectly spicy.

Tofu vegetable casserole

Absolutely authentic Chinese restaurant!!! Very easy to pass by this restaurant and missed it because it locates in the basement ! This tofu casserole dish very delicious and satisfying with lots of different kind of vegetable and plenty of tofu, all the ingredients are perfectly balanced with each other , make sure to put the gravy on the rice too, highly recommend if you are vegetarian !

東北涼皮

The 8 of us were there on a Wed for lunch. The food was pretty authentic and delicious. We didn't order from the lunch menu. We ordered from the dinner menu. The restaurant owner treated us the hot and sour soup that normally only comes with lunch. The dishes we ordered were mostly Sichuan flavor. Considering the restaurant is in Ithaca, NY, it's very special to be able to get authentic Chinese food there. The restaurant is located in the basement with a slightly steep stairway, and the hot and sour soup was too salty, which were the two minor drawbacks. If I am in Ithaca again, I will definitely go back to this restaurant.

The hotpot taste is good. However, food is not that clean and baby flies dancing around the source bar.

I've never been to a hot pot restaurant before - Can they accommodate gluten free?

If you're celiac, I think it would be risky - lots of soy sauce in play. If you try to avoid gluten but aren't super sensitive, you would probably be safe getting meat and vegetables to dip into the broth.

We discovered this place last year when my son started at Binghamton University, and now that he lives at UClub, it's incredibly convenient since the restaurant is right there. The restaurant is beautifully decorated with a traditional Chinese theme and feels spacious, clean, and comfortable, with plenty of seating. The staff are always friendly and welcoming, which makes the experience even better. We consistently order the spicy beef noodle soup, the regular beef noodle soup, and the spicy fish fillets with tofu. The broth is rich, deep, and full of flavor, and the beef is perfectly tender. The spicy fish fillets with tofu is my go‑to dish. Just think of a spicy fish version of mapo tofu, and you won't be disappointed. If you're visiting the Binghamton area, I highly recommend giving this place a try!

It's one of the most authentic-tasting Szechuan meals I have ever had. My only negative is I got fried rice for $2, and it was very lackluster. The dishes we had were unlike anything we've had, and so memorable! Intense flavor with lots of depth and spice, and all the vegetables and tofu in the dry pot entree were cooked so well. I wouldn't get this as take out- the dry pot presentation was half the fun! Our other dish was chicken soupy style, which had an incredible spicy chili oil sauce that went well with plain rice. It was nicely decorated with the decor continuing into the restrooms. For those interested, it had a very family-friendly restroom with baby changing station. I learned that they have a location in Syracuse as well. Definitely give it a try and go for something special!

The service is another issue, the main issue I have is they givve you the check in just under or just over 30 minutes That means if you want to add a beverage you have to get them to take back your check and add the drink to it, It's really a suggestion to finish up and leave. I've talked to them about it, and it still happens. The other issue with service is mainly only one time out of the six times I've been there have they cleared away my dishes after I've finished them. And the odd thing is both with them giving you the check after a half hour and not clearing away the dishes, one of the staff who is an older woman and doesn't speak a lot of English will come up to you if you don't leave a tip or don't leave enough of one and ask you/ tell you that she wants a better tip. Now I always do tip, If I'm not using cash then the tip goes on the card at checkout and if I am using cassh I do put it on the table and I tip the casheiers too. I'll be honest with you. if there were any place that i'd be tempted not to tip it would be when being served by that one older woman who tries getting you out in a half hour and speaks just fine when she feels that she's not eating tipped enough I've been there about 6 times now, the food when it's good is good, but not spectacular but you also have to keep in mind that its all you can eat for under $20 and on that basis alone it's worth going if you ignore the suggestion to leave when they present you with eh check just 30 mi9nutes after getting there

While visiting on a cool night, the Dan Dan Noodles sounded really appealing to me, and they did not disappoint! The bowl was a large portion with a good amount of noodles and tender, juicy ground pork. The broth was hot and spicy, but also flavorful...the heat was not too overpowering for me. I was very happy with my meal, but also happy to taste some other items we got to share. Edamame always seems like a good way to start a meal...these were overly salted for my liking. The scallion pancake was okay...a little small with just four thin pieces. More successful were the namesake dumplings. I really liked their versions of Xaio Long Bao - both the original pork and shrimp varieties contained delicious broth and fillings. We also shared the pork and chive dumplings, beef dumplings, and pork and corn dumplings...and we would order all of them again! The orange chicken was also an enjoyable dish to share, and good way to add some variety to the plethora of dumplings. I'm sure they get a lot of young customers from RIT and UofR, and the music catered more to this audience - it was a bit loud for my preference. But, service was very good and it is a fun casual environment to enjoy some good, reasonably priced chow with friends!

Good Jajjangmyeon in Ithaca!…read more My parents recommended this spot to me- and they are very particular about their Asian food. They absolutely hated Kimchi. I finally got around to trying Asia Cuisine though must admit I was a bit hesitant given their extensive menu (I feel like if a restaurant offers too many types of cuisines the quality takes a hit). However, I was pleasantly surprised! I had been craving jajjangmyeon (I had it once at Koko's but it was not good) and ordered Asia Cuisine's C3 green tea noodle w jajang sauce. The noodles were delicious! Al dente and the slightest hint of green tea flavor! The jajang sauce was a tad oily and not super traditional, though I still enjoyed it- especially the addition of onions! Service was okay. Nothing exceptional. While I haven't tried any of their other menu items, I would recommend their green tea noodle jajjangmyeon!
