I no longer having De Dutch too often since we moved from BC years ago. But when we're back, we try to ensure we visit a De Dutch when we can. My review might be influenced by nostalgia, and someone visiting for the first time might not be blown away, but in any case, I still love it. The Pannekok is very unique, not easy to find, and they still make them well, served fresh, and with good quality toppings. I wish it was a bit cheaper, but since they keep up quality control and given inflation, they're probably being fair. Since I can't find anything lacking, it's a 5 star from me. read more

Our new tradition when we come to BC. We cross the border and go right to this De Dutch for breakfast. We share the Boer's pancake and then a pancake with fresh whip cream and raspberries. All the meat that came with the Boer's was very good. And the fresh whip cream was so good with the tart raspberries on the pancake. Everything was excellent. read more

I don't actually drink coffee, but you (the reader) maybe interested. Still 40 bucks for 2 plates, but I knew that coming in. Bon apetite Very disappointed in the owner? of this location! Was rude when she noticed that I'd parked my Ambulance at the rear of the restaurant, as it didn't fit in the parking lot. I left the business lots of room to receive a delivery. Excellent breakfast spot if you're looking to try something different and new! I ordered the Hash and hubby the Abby Perrogy while our 1YO had the kids deleuxe breakfast. We spent about $50.00 after tax and tip so expect to spend a little more than usual for breakfast but the portions are generous and you will certainly be left with happy and full bellies!!! The resto was clean and you can tell environmentally conscious with plant based utenstils if that is important to you. Overall, great experience and would definitely return!!! read more

If you're looking for a good, fresh, hardy breakfast or brunch then give this joint a try. Located on the corner of #10 Highway and the old Main Street in Cloverdale it's super easy to get to and easy to find. The parking can be a bit tight at times because it shares stalls with the government Liquor Store, but there's easy street parking as well. The menu has changed over time but I find the quality and consistency in product has remained the same. This time I had the Windmill and a Lemon Drop. I find it filling, for sure. Make sure you ask for Stroop, they'll bring a bottle of it to your table. The interior is warm and welcoming. All sorts of people frequent this location so you'll often find families, grand parents, sometime local politicians, really anyone who wants a comfortable meal without feeling the need to rush out of the place. It can get busy on the weekends so keep that in mind and they're not open for dinner. Haha, so if you're looking for a late-night Pannekoek you're going to be SOL. The older gentleman that works here is discriminatory towards people with tattoos. The first time we came here he was trying to tell me and my mother (we're both heavily tattooed) that it was wrong and we shouldn't be marking up our bodies. Now today I'm taking my mother out for her birthday breakfast and he's snubbing our table; not even making eye contact while were saying thank you. It took 20 minutes to get a refill on our coffee because he kept walking past our table to help other people. The De Dutch on Fraser Hwy and 152 is so much better read more

Definitely nothing special. Ordered The Hash with Hollandaise and came with 1 Pannekoeken. $14 (cheapest thing on the menu basically). Wow, talk about a small portion. The hash was about a fist size, the hollandaise on top was tasteless, watery and bland, the hash itself was also tasteless, no seasoning whatsoever. Overall for 4 people, just coffee's and a meal each, $78 + Tip for what amounts to cafeteria food. Definitely will never go to any De Dutch. Next time I want to spend $80 for eggs I'll just head over and pick-up my own ingredient and season it to taste, which they clearly don't know how to do. PS. They want $4.50 for orange juice ... get real. I went to white spot for hash, the portion was 3x bigger and every bite was great. For $14 I could think of so many other places where I would leave full and satisfied. read more

Where do I even begin with this place.. Specifically this location. I have been coming to eat here for the past 7-8 years after my brother introduced me to it. First and foremost, George: you are awesome!! Not only do you take such great care of Your customers, you make them feel right at home. The food here tastes amazing and gets better & better every time. (Yes it's possible) Just recently we moved away, and I tried a different location seeing how it was closer.. bad idea. The food tasted off.. the service was not as welcoming. Needless to say, I will drive 15 mins more to come to this location than go to the one 3 mins away down the street. Service was fast enough and friendly. Mushroom scramble with sourdough toast was tasty but the hashbrowns were dry and blah. The fruit cup was not fresh at all. It seemed that it had been sitting in the fridge for a couple days. Dry and a little soft. My friend enjoyed the brie, red onion and blueberry toastie but his fruit cup was also abysmal. So for the price of this meal...$37 with coffee and hot chocolate(not including tip) we did not feel it was at all worth it. We will not return. read more
