This was our 2nd time there and as in the first time, the hospitality and food both were good. We had a kid in our group of 6 and at first they gave us a small table but then after requesting the manager, they gave us a booth which was much more comfortable since we had ordered quite a lot of food. Excellent ambience for an Indian restaurant. No complaints from service as well. Food on the other hand was about decent. Tried Paneer Paratha, Dahi Bhalla, Kashmiri Pink Tea and Shikanji. Dahi Bhalla was divine. Probably the software Bhalla that literally dissolves in the mouth. We asked for our parathas to be spicy but it was still mild. Food was fantastic, but don't go there for their service. My friend and I were ignored at the door, but the couple behind us got seated right away by the guy who appears to be the owner. We had to stop another guy (appearing to he a supervisor or another owner) to ask for a table. Their entire staff seems to follow the "don't make eye contact" rule, and it was extremely difficult to get their attention. Their menu had a wide variety of GF and vegetarian options though, which we were excited to see. They had a constant flow of take-out orders, which probably explains the lack of customer service. The restaurant was loud to begin with, and they also had a singer with his acoustic guitar adding to the ambiance. Surrey has too many "indianized" food joints and I was reluctant to go to another one. But this place was way better! Even though we were not greeted immediately, we were helped with our seats within a minute. The booths are spacious and not crammed which I really liked. Waitresses are very young and you can see they have been asked to dress in a particular way which is well fine but feels like they have been ASKED to wear short clothes. Anyway, that wasn't an issue just an observation. We ordered our food and the waitress recommended drinks. We had paneer paratha, pav bhaji, chicken Kadhai, naan, chicken nuggets with Kit Kat shake. All of our food was delicious! It was delivered by a robot and my kid was super excited. Paneer paratha was huge and very tasty. Pav bhaji was good and came with 3 pavs. Chicken kadhai was perfect spice level and my kids shake was very good. Overall, good food, good ambience. With renovations done this year this place looks fab! Perfect place to celebrate occasions with family. They even have live music and dj in the evenings sometime. The parents were amused by the serving robot, definitely a fun and different experience. Their paratha's are good. We've tried aloo, paneer. My favorite is the methi mooli makai paratha. They seem pricey at first but the quantity justifies it. Two large sized parathas which I've never been able to finish in one go! Chat items and main course is good too! Plenty of parking outside. Management is courteous and we've had them coming to our table a couple of times to ensure everything is fine. read more

Took 45 minutes for the food to come out and it tasted mediocre. Staff was nice but Just sat around. Asked for mild butter chicken but tasted like spicy marinara sauce. Absolutely Terrible ! First and last time to go there Ordered the Saag/Makki roti thali to go. Came home in 15 minutes and opened the bag. Saag and salad was fine but the Makki roti was hard like a rock, could not even break the pieces. It was so rock hard, I tapped it really hard on the counter and still not able to break it ! I called the manager to let him know, I even made a video to show him, I sent it to him and he never even called or messaged me back The roti's had to be a few days old. I stopped by this restaurant for a lunch date with some friends. There was a large menu selection so I found it difficult to decide what to order. Also, the menu needed more photos or item descriptions to better explain the menu items for people not familiar with Indian cuisine. I asked a server about a particular menu item and she was not able to explain it clearly to me. I was able to make my decision after my friend explained some of the menu items to me. I ordered a few items. The chicken nuggets and fries were average. The fries had some seasoning on it, but my child still enjoyed the meal. I really enjoyed the amritsari kulcha with paneer. It was the highlight of the meal with freshly made bread stuffed with paneer. The chickpea was tasty with a spicy kick. The yogurt was just regular plain yogurt. There was a side of butter to make the meal more buttery if that is what you wanted. The pickled mango and onion silvers cut the heaviness of the meal. It was interesting getting served by a robot. My child really loved the experience. I thought it would have been faster to have an actual person dropping off the food. I found food service to be a bit on the slower side. Food arrived at different times. So we had to wait a bit before everyone received their order. Overall, I enjoyed my meal. I found the prices to be reasonable too. read more

Have been wanting to try this spot for a while after hearing only good things! There were 10 of us on a Sunday afternoon. They accepted a reservation in advance even though they are normally walk-in only, which we appreciated because my little guy was with us. We ordered a gang of stuff, including makki mooli methi paratha plate, aloo paratha, paneer kulcha, paneer pasta, gol guppe, spicy fries, mango lassi, mango cheesecake cake and regular lassi. From the things I tried myself, I enjoyed it all. Everything tasted fresh and authentic. The mango lassi tasted well balanced with equal parts sweet and tartness, I just wish it was a little colder as it was served room temp. The makki mooli methi paratha was my favourite. It tasted like my mom made them at home - perfect amount of spices and herbs. The paneer kulcha was light, fluffy and well seasoned with a good amount of paneer filling. The spicy fries were also really, really tasty. Servings were all massive, definitely could have taken home half of each meal. The servers were attentive and very pleasant and the owner was walking around asking how everyone's meals were. The few things I thought could have been done better: the menu is a little overwhelming - I understand it being extensive since they make everything from parathas to pastas, but I think it could have been laid out in a way that read easier. The ratio of filling to gol guppe was lacking; we ordered 25 gol guppe but they gave us enough aloo filling for 10. The amount of achaar and makhani they give you is similarly lacking for the parothay plate and is far less than what you see pictured on their menu. The other thing I really didn't love is the owner started touching my 10 month old's face without asking for permission first, and continued despite us clearly being uncomfortable and pulling him away. I know it's engrained in Punjabi culture to be friendly with everyone's kid but especially after COVID I feel like people should be more aware of personal boundaries. This in no way affected my review; only sharing this in hopes the owner sees and can take note in the future. Staff recognized immediately that our party had a blind woman and an old man with a walker and came forward to assist to seat us. Unfortunately, there isn't a "paper" menu available for seniors who don't use technology. Server made a few suggestions that we went with. But, naan that we ordered to have with the chicken tikka came long after it should have so ended up being taken home. We ordered ghajrela but got gulam jamun instead. The gentleman who might be the owner was quick to ask why we returned the gulab jamun. As a gesture to apologize, he offered the gulab jamun as complimentary. The chicken tikka platter was tasty as was the veggie pasta. Good service overall. The live singer with the guitar was an unexpected treat. He played a good mix of retro and new Bollywood songs. What a disgusting experience!! We visited this place with our 10 months old toddler and family. We ordered our food and waited for 50 minutes. While waiting no one even came to check on us. All other people who came later than us got their food first. Finally when our toddler became cranky I had to go to the counter to enquire for the order and the staff said 5 more minutes. I am pretty much sure they misplaced or order. We waited for 5 more minutes and no sight of food!! We finally gave up and left the restaurant as our baby started crying and becoming uneasy!! Nobody apologized! I asked to talk to the manager and the staff said there was no manager! Worst service ever they had 3 ppl working and the restaurant was pretty sizable.
