Visited in December 2021 for oil change. Noticed the plastic shield under the car partially fallen off due to missing screw and was scratching the ground a month later. Since I was only driving for grocery once a week during Covid, I did not notice earlier. Went to DCH Paramus Honda to repair and was told to pay $200 for parts. Clearly it was caused by inappropriate installation during oil change, but was told it may be caused by driving in storm and it cannot prove their responsibility. Although they patched up the cracked area with sponges, still I was extremely disappointed and utterly speechless to the service they provide, to the way they treat customers. Bought a car there in 1998 and when I took it in for the first service they stole a personal item out of the car . Swore I'd never go back. Fast forward 23 years later. I had my car towed there , asked them not to leave it outside because the window wouldn't close. Was told it wouldn't be, got the car back and there are signs it was left in the rain. Then I was told the part I needed was backordered. They kept the vehicle two weeks, found out it was because they had to fix and paint what they damaged. I can clearly see where it was repainted. But of course I have no way to prove it and they won't admit to it. So my advice to you is stay away they can't be trusted. read more

In all the years of having dealt with Honda I have never dealt with such unprofessional service. My brother went to take his car with an appointment for routine service and not even 5 minutes there he was greeted by Natasha Need..... now normally all prior experiences within my family with Honda were positive and pleasant except yesterday! She was rude and curt! I 'm not sure what her problem was or she just hates her job but just maybe she shouldn't deal with customer service! My husband had to wind up going down there because they were giving him a hard time as the car is in his name..... not sure how or why that matters because ive allowed my brother to take my car for service before! Since 2006 I have been leasing my cars through Honda and I've never dealt with such unprofessional behavior. It then became an argument between Ms. Need and her co worker over who would attend.... after several snarky remarks and bickering my family was told we can come pick up the car the next day today.... now we're being told the car won't be ready until Monday! Talk about horrible customer service! There is definitely no team work at this dealership! As close as this Honda is I prefer taking my business elsewhere.... there are currently 4 family members leasing in my family leasing Honda not sure we would ever recomend this dealership as a reflection of Ms. Need! It can be considered but for that I will have to come to the showroom to which I agreed under the assurance. After driving for more than an hour, I was shocked to be offered $10,000 markup on MSRP despite the discussions. They totally denied the previous conversation. I had no option but to call out their unethical behavior for making people to come into their store on false information assurances that they cannot commit. Went there for a tire rotation and oil change. Left with my emergency brake a loose and wobbly. At the beginning, I paid no mind to it since it wasn't too bad, however about 2 weeks later, I was able to pull the emergency brake practically all the way up (over 12 clicks). I went back and was told that my rear caliper may be going bad. When I asked how was that possible on a car that is only 4 years old with less than 46k miles, they did not know how to respond and just said parts get old and brought up the "extended warranty" bs, which I am pretty sure still doesn't cover the caliper. Anyways, went back to try to get the problem fixed and they denied they did anything to the emergency brake, however, somehow they were able to adjust it just a bit. About 4 days later, the wobble and looseness came back, so its pretty obvious whatever they did was temporary and half-assed. During that week, I spoke to a mechanic whom I work with and was told that they most likely hyper-extended the emergency brake whenever they parked the car or rotated tire causing a misalignment in the braking system. Brought it to another mechanic and he confirmed the diagnose, further showing me where the problem may be. (Showed me how the cables were uneven under the parking brake console) They should take responsibility for their screw-ups and be more careful with people's cars. Many people pay these cars with hard work, sweat and tears to have someone "qualified" break them out of carelessness. Update: 5/25/2017 They have just refused to fix the parking brake that they broke. Spoke to Service Manager Bruce Laga and he just keeps saying that he stands next to his mechanics work, literally said he doesn't care what other mechanics that I have diagnosed the problem with have said. Goes to show the professionalism in this place. Everything is good until they break something. Then, all bets are off the table. First and last Honda I will ever buy, especially from this place. read more

This is now my 4th Honda lease, the first 3 being at a different dealership. Since then I had moved but also had a pretty lousy experience and decided to search elsewhere. Came through DCH Paramus Honda and met Daniel back in December. Long story short, it was not the right time for me to switch out of my lease. Nonetheless, Daniel was great in keeping a soft communication about every 6-8 weeks to touch base and see if anything had changed. Nothing crazy, just a nice "Hello, how are you" type of thing. Fast forward to this past week where we touched based via email and he already had notes from our previous meeting and a little back and forth, come this past Saturday morning and I am driving off in new 2017 Civic. Daniel was awesome. Super personable, not at all pushy about selling any additional products or features, and very mindful of me as a customer and what I needed and wanted out of the car and my overall experience. What I appreciated the most was that he treated this entire process as a long-term thing and not something short-term. I don't know that I have ever walked out of a dealer and still have communications with them even months after an initial meeting. On the pleasure scale I'd put buying a car somewhere between root canal and a colonoscopy. A real pain in the, er, neck. I was looking for a late model used car and was perusing dealer websites and came across what looked like a really nice 2016 Honda Civic with about 30k miles on it. So I got on the little chat bot and asked if it was still available. It was. I told the bot lady that I'd be there by 7:30 or so and, after she took my name, phone number and email address, I was assured that the car would be waiting. I pulled into the parking lot at precisely 7:40. I looked at my clock before I turned off my car. Anyway, I walked into the building and noticed there were an awful lot of empty desks and it was eerily quite. I don't know if anyone was actually in the building, but certainly no one was talking to me. Which is, you know, unusual for a car dealership. I walked around for a minute or two when I saw this, er, less than professional sign, printed on copy paper, informing me that, "[Their] brand new, state of the art showroom is just across the street from the building you're in." or words to that effect. As I'm walking out the door, in the rain I might add, my phone rings. On the phone was Tiffany (alias maybe?) the one actual bright spot in what is turning into a colossal waste of time. She was empathetic and commiserated with my plight and told me to meet her at reception...but never really told me how to get there. My fault I guess for not asking because there are apparently two reception areas. They were right. It is a beautiful showroom. So I walk up to what I thought was reception and there was an older lady working with someone and on the phone. While I'm waiting, a salesman came up to me and asked me if I was being helped. I said I was looking for Tiffany. He said, "Oh the 2016 Honda Civic. Progress! By now it's been about 15 minutes since I walked into the first building and, what, 20 minutes since you started reading this review. Anyhoo he tells me he'll be right back. BTW, no introduction. Never got this guy's name. No welcome to DCH Honda. Can I get you a cup of coffee, nothing. So he trundles off and I'm left waiting. Talking to myself. Not unusual. After a minute or two he comes back with the deal jacket (technical term I used to sell motorcycles) and says to me, "The car is in the service building, let's go take a drive." I said, "But the chat bot lady told me it would be waiting." And he was like, oh it's just across the street. Now in my head I'm channeling Lewis Black. To him I said, "Nope, you lost me." And as I'm walking away he was like "WAIT! Alan!" That was the first time, other than Tiffany, there was even a nod at an introduction. So I turned around. He said, "Give me 10 minutes. I'll drive over and bring the car back." I looked at my phone and said, "10 minutes." I waited 15 and then walked out. 20 minutes after I get a Voicemail, "Hi. This is DCH Honda just wanted to let you know you're Civic was here." Sheah, I'm buying a car from you. Now, if you come this far in the review you may be saying, and not without justification, "Geez, this guy's kind of a jerk." Yes and no. I wake up at 4:30 every morning like many of you. I work a 10 to 12 hour day, like many of you. I have to be in bed by 9:30 or I get cranky. So when a chat bot tells me a car that I might buy will be waiting, I don't think it's beyond the pale to be a little annoyed. I've never seen anything like this. They tried to sell me a car $5000 over MSRP. They tried to sell me a car that should be $34,500 out the door (at regular MSRP plus all state fees) for $41,600. When I called them out on it, they said: "well, cars are at a premium, we can charge as much over MSRP as we want. If you don't buy it, someone else will". I understand the supply is low and demand is high, I was even willing to go up to $1500 over MSRP, but the prices this dealership and the one in Union gave me is immoral. read more

Are you kidding me! What a joke please stay away!!! The salesman was so rude passive and inappropriate. Their sales manager was condescending we were treated as they were doing us a favor. Waited over 4 hours to buy a car and when we went to cashier she actually asked if my cash was separated she was rude ! She criticized the finance representative and wanted to bad mouth him in Spanish I am so beside myself I will never ever do business here. Final note as I went to pay I was told there on the spot they couldn't put more than a certain amount on my card so after waiting over 4 hours I then had to drive back home (40 minutes) and bring back my check book. These people are terrible wish I could give them zero star!!! read more

So last Monday my faithful 2004 Beetle finally died....or half died....no horn or turn signal...or headlights....or wipers but still could drive. I didn't feel like buying a helmet to buy groceries and my mechanic couldn't figure it out. It was time to say bye to Rawr Car. Now I know nothing about cars and have heard horrible things about car salesmen. My beetle was bought on ebay so I've never been to a dealership before even. (Yes I know I'm insane but I was successful.) But all I knew going into any dealership I had to keep my mouth shut (about our situation and the fact we were screwed without a car and needed something ASAP because I have a kid and upcoming appointments) and go in with a semi-plan. We knew the mileage we wanted, wanted Used within a certain year time frame, 4 doors, something between an SUV and a sedan in size and price range. We were not to budge from this. It was between Honda and Kia but I was advised heavily to go with Honda by friends and my mechanic so DCH Paramus Honda was first. We got LUCKY. The minute we got there, Freddy greeted us outside first. He was genuine, patient, informative and was the complete opposite of the typical car sales guy. He didn't push us into anything we didn't want and let us know every step of the process. Very down to earth and I recommend the hell out of him if you need a Honda. We ended up going with a Fit. The first one was bought out from under us that was perfect but that wasn't his fault. The second one was ours. I was pretty nervous about driving anything that wasn't my Beetle but I really am enjoying the Fit. It met most of my criteria. But yeah we lucked out with Freddy as our sales guy. I'm new to the area and have been shopping for a Honda dealer that had great customer service, and made me feel welcomed every time I came for service. I finally found it at Paramus Honda. I don't remember all the service reps names but i recognize them by face. I have been satisfied with the service for about 1.5 years now. However, things started to change. A couple of new faces working there. I made my appointment for 9:30 for scheduled service and arrived at 9am. I was taken care of by Natasha, and was told it would take about 2-2.5 hours. I mean, I know they were busy, but I thought the reason for appointments was that you have your guaranteed slot to get work done. So after inquiring, i was hit with a bunch of sassiness and attitude. First time this ever happened to me. I ended up waiting at the dealer of a little over 4 hours. In addition, on the invoice I noticed it said the oil grade was 0W-20. I went back to the counter to ask about the type of oil that was used bc that is the incorrect grade for my vehicle. She told me she didn't know the correct code to enter on the invoice so she decided to place a different code. So, at this point how could you trust what's being said to you? I have no idea whether she is telling me the truth or covering up a mistake. On top of all this, the bill came out to be $67?!? This also prompted me to ask whether they put in conventional or synthetic oil, was told it was conventional and that they just "increased their prices". Listen, this is oil, not gold; prices don't jump 2.5 times just like that. Instead of making a fuss and arguing, I bit the bullet on all this, and decided to make my voice heard here. I can no longer trust this dealership with their work, their ethics, or morals. I will be shopping for a different dealership to get my work done or may opt to do it myself. After shopping around I could purchase genuine Honda oil and oil filters from another source for a fraction of the price. read more

My wife and I laugh because we get a 3 year update on the families, but feels like we've been talking daily. I came here with my husband to look for a Honda Pilot to accommodate our growing family and the salesman essentially talked himself out of the sale. He was sexist and disrespectful to me the entire time - continually addressing my husband while ignoring me. The one time he paid me any mind was to ask me if I know how to drive after my husband insisted I test drive the car as well. The car we planned to purchase was intended to be for me! While it's still fresh in my mind, I'll share with you why car dealers have such a poor rep. I've been a customer of DCH for 25 years. This is the first time I've dealt with Paramus Honda. I called this morning to see if a specifically advertised used Honda pilot was available, and if I can go look at it. The person on the phone told me yes, come in. So I drive an hour from Brooklyn, I get there before 11 AM, only to be told that the car is in the body shop getting a scratch fixed. Here are some questions that I have for the GM.... 1-Why? why did you waste 3 hour of my life on a wild goose chase? I wasn't that upset until I'm stuck in bumper to bumper traffic going back to Brooklyn. 2- Why are you fixing the car if it's so clean? 3- The car has been sitting in your dealer for 2 months, and now you're fixing it? I said that I was going to return on Saturday to look at it. But sitting in the traffic coming home made me change my mind. To summarize, there are several other areas that I didn't mention, and I'll leave it out. It has been an unpleasant experience. I don't need a used car that badly, it's a second car, so I don't think I'll be revisiting paramus Honda. read more

Check engine light came on after a severe storm, made an appointment for this Monday at 8:30pm, now it's almost noon without a scrap of info. I wasn't expecting to get the car back in three hours but how could you have no idea on the status of the car. Went to speak with the service rep who brushed me off, then went to speak to the "supervisor." Who brushes me off too, but in a nicer way. I mean honestly. You have my car all morning and you can't even give me an update? When I took my car to another mechanic, they explained what the problem was in two hours. I would've been happy with everything they told me but they didn't even make an effort to check on the status. I've come here for every oil change but not anymore. Honestly feel like they don't care. Can't begin to say how disappointed I am. Ive told other Honda owners about Paramus Honda and hey look like I'm crazy cause it's so far but I've always told them about the amazing service, now I feel like an ass for even recommending this place. Last time for sure. I always want my Honda to be cared for by the dealership but I might have to rethink that. If you need to get a Honda, contact PAUL PARK. He's a saleman there, and not only does he know the Honda models inside and out, he's one of the most honest salesman I've met. HONEST Trustworthy salesmen are extremely difficult to find. They all seem nice at first, but they usually always try to pull little schemes. For example, they will refuse to quote a hard price over the phone and demand that you come into the dealership. They do this because they know that if you take the time to come into the dealership, it's less likely you'll want to go elsewhere due to the hassle. So, they can not only close the sale with you but also they can jack up the price. This is a common sales tactic but Paul quoted a final price to me over the phone. TECHNICAL KNOWLEDGE He knows his stuff. He told me why one year's model was quieter than the other. Which engine had trouble and which didn't. I was impressed with his honesty and knowledge. CHEAPEST PRICE Even though he was completely honest, he had the cheapest price out of the 7 dealerships I contacted. He mentioned that he's rather work on volume by having a reputation of having the cheapest price. And, I guess it works because it did with me!
