I purchased a car from this dealership in September 2025 for my son, and there have been red flags from the very beginning. The day after the purchase, my bank account was compromised. Someone called me pretending to be GEICO and claimed they were adding my son to my insurance policy and explaining the premium increase. This person knew every detail of what had happened at the dealership, including my son's information, my insurance details, and my home address. The scammer was able to withdraw $548 from my bank account. Given how much confidential information they had, it strongly suggests that someone with insider access may have been involved. Unfortunately, my son was later in an accident, and the vehicle was declared a total loss. Thankfully, I purchased GAP coverage and an extended warranty. The accident occurred in early March, and it is now May. The dealership still has not completed its part of the process to apply the GAP and extended warranty funds toward the remaining loan balance. I have spoken with the warranty company, and they confirmed that they sent the necessary funds to the dealership back in March. Despite leaving multiple messages for both the finance department and management at the Nutley location, I have received no response. As a result, there is still an outstanding balance on the loan that should have been resolved months ago. I strongly urge anyone considering purchasing a vehicle from this dealership to proceed with caution. My experience has been extremely frustrating and concerning. read more

Went for a 16,000 mile Kia recommended schedule service, which is oil change, cabin filters, tire rotation and inspections of multiple things. I didn't even get out of my car and he said it would be $685 because they recommend doing a wheel alignment because of potholes. I regret buying from Nutley Kia due to serious failures on the management and registration side. I'm a Pennsylvania resident and purchased a vehicle here (Toyota Rav4 2020). From the beginning, I was told I was not allowed to handle my own PA registration and plates and that the dealership had to do it. I trusted that process. They issued a 30-day NJ temporary plate, then a second 30-day temporary registration when the first expired. That second temporary tag expired on Tuesday, January 13, 2026, and I still did not receive my Pennsylvania plates or registration. I was left with a car I cannot legally drive. I want to be clear that my salesperson, Karim, was polite and genuinely tried to help. This does not appear to be his fault. The real issue is with management and back-office handling of registration and accountability. I have been trying for four days to reach a manager, and no manager has responded or returned my calls. I am still trying. The lack of urgency, communication, and responsibility from management is unacceptable--especially when their failure directly left me without transportation. If you are an out-of-state buyer, be extremely cautious. Make sure registration timelines, responsibilities, and backup plans are clearly guaranteed in writing. Unfortunately, my recent experience on December 13th was deeply disappointing. I had a 10:00 AM appointment and arrived early at 8:30 AM, expecting to wait until my scheduled time. That was no problem. However, I ended up waiting until 10:30 before anyone addressed me. Positive recognition: Colleen, who always provides me with 5-star service and knows me by name, once again showed professionalism and care. Rainey also stepped in to assist me when things stalled, and I am grateful for both of them. Chad, on the other hand, failed to communicate clearly, ignored my request not to receive an estimate, and repeatedly delayed my service. He even asked me to stand in his office only to leave me waiting while he assisted another customer. My paperwork was incomplete, my keys misplaced, and ultimately, Colleen and Rainey had to finish tasks that Chad neglected to complete. There was no oil build on the ticket, they had to call parts to make a list and there was no MOA or LOA. It was his intentions to make me wait that long. All because I spoke up and informed him that I was tired of sitting. He pulled me in the office, pointed to a spot towards the floor and said stand then while I get my paperwork done. I thought he was talking about my paperwork but no, he picked up his tablet. went out the office to check in another customer and conversate thereby taking his time and wasting mine. As a senior and a long-time customer, I felt disrespected and disregarded. The unnecessary waiting, lack of communication, and dismissive attitude were unacceptable. If it weren't for Colleen and Rainey, I would have been left sitting indefinitely. I am asking that you review this matter seriously. One week later the car still was not ready so they said that they would give us another car, which, after much prompting, they agreed to deliver. The service department is full of scam artists. They don't follow the factory recommended maintenance and will up-charge you at any opportunity. My recommended maintenance on a car with 18k miles was oil change, tire rotation, and a cabin filter plus the FREE checkup for a little over $200. They tried to add on a bunch of things I didn't need to up-charge me to $650. On one visit, the service tech recommended extra charges after first asking where I lived. Should the up-charges be based on where you live? Nutley Kia thinks so. The services they do provide are ridiculously inflated compared to outside options. $500 for a battery that I can get for $180. Also, a new battery after 18k miles?? Do the recalls there only if you absolutely have no other choice. Otherwise, service your car ANYWHERE else. Go to Nutley FIRST! We went to a fancy Kia dealership local to us and they were awful liars. They told us that it was impossible to order vehicles and what we see is what we get/ first come, first serve. They insisted that's the way it was across the board, so we didn't think to go elsewhere. Until... I was desperate for a Telluride and I was tired of getting calls from them with options that weren't what I wanted. I'm paying tens of thousands, I want what I want. I don't need to it to be exact really, but they weren't even close. Finally, my husband and I went to Nutley just to check it out. The website always showed they had quite a bit more inventory and we were curious. We walked in just before closing and Bronco (spell? sorry!) sat us down and took my information. He hopped on his computer and built me exactly what I wanted, told us to give him a deposit, and we'd see him again probably around March/April, maybe earlier. We left happy, but skeptical because of what the other dealership had told us. We got the call from Peter (covering) this past week that our car was in. We worked out financing over the phone and email, he contacted my insurance. We were all set for this afternoon for me to pick up the car. As 100% transparency, they do owe me tiny little fixes, but they were really on top of scheduling and making sure we were happy. Matt in finance was fantastic. He was quick and friendly, and we enjoyed talking to him. Peter showed me around, took the anxiety out of what to do with a service appointment, got us scheduled for 1 out of 2 free oil changes, taught us everything we needed to know about the vehicle. He was wonderful. He also defended me when I couldn't remember where the blinker was, which was very gracious of him and I appreciate that. We had gotten there about 11:50 and we were finished by 2:00pm - and I drove out of there in the *exact* vehicle that I had wanted, no bs attached. They are rude, curt, unsympathetic, and extremely unprofessional. They could not figure out why a BRAND NEW CAR purchased from THEM, (only 9 -months old, with 5000 miles)....continues to die and conk out, repeatedly every week. The service manager, Randall Ellis,, is incompetent and also rude and unprofessional. He actually told me he is "embarrassed" that he could not figure out what was wrong with my car. Ann, the owner, said to me very rudely in a text message and email, to pick up my car or they will charge me for the loaner and for storing my car. I told her she was so disrespectful after waiting patiently for 5 weeks for them to fix my car and never called to complain...even though it was over the holidays. After all of those weeks, they admitted they did not have a resolution. A few weeks later, the same issue came up. I called to explain the tow truck is bringing the car back. Jim, the other owner and Ann's husband, called me to told me, very rudely, not bring the car back, again with no resolution. He was so nasty to me, my husband had to interject about the tone he used with me. He said he has the right as a private business to not service my car, even though it was purchased from them. Overall, they failed over and over as a business. They did not show any empathy for me as a customer, they did not recommend another dealer / service center that had more experience, they did not offer any suggestions for a resolution, they did not offer to change the battery that kept dying, and they did not test drive the car to try to duplicate the issue. I filed complaints with Kia Corporate, BBB, and NJMVC. DO NOT patronize NUTLEY KIA. They do not deserve your time or your money. read more

I purchased a new stinger 2022 and a couple month later got into an accident with the front left wheel hitting a curb. I brought the car back for repairs and had to pay out of pocket. The sales rep that I purchased the car from was great. 10/10 service from Andre. But the service department has given me the run around. After the diagnosis that was done . The parts were orders and I paid that amount they asked for parts+labor. I then drive the car again and notice a vibrating feeling throughout the car. I can feel shaking from the floor of the car to my steering wheel. Nobody properly test drove the car . Because when I brought it back, they tried telling me that nothing is wrong with the car ... I was furious. I drove the car for 3k miles already . I know what it's supposed to drive like. They then test drive the car and confirm that NEW PARTS need to be orders and add 900$ cost to the total repairs. Bad diagnosis Bad service The total repair cost for the car is now 6700$ read more

And let me tell you, they really treat people like scum here. Back in July, I went looking to purchase a vehicle, as i'm looking around the lot, a guy comes up to me, on the phone, with a cigarette hanging out of his mouth and then continues to follow me into the place. I sit with him (as he is still making calls on his cell phone and saying "referrals, you know?", they run mine and my mother's credit report, once they see how good it is.. THEY START SINGING TO US!!! the most creepy, weird thing ever... turns out their deals aren't good at all, so I take my happy self somewhere else to purchase my vehicle, where I in fact, got the car and deal I was looking for.. FAST FORWARD A FEW MONTHS, my car now needs an oil change. Nutley is literally a few towns over, maybe a 10 minute drive. So, I decide to give them a call to schedule a service. The lady tells me that they "AREN'T REALLY ACCEPTING NEW CUSTOMERS" ... okay so you don't want money, cool. Then she goes "I actually don't even have anything for like 3 weeks out. You can try the Kia in Clifton, or better yet, TAKE IT TO WHERE YOU PURCHASED THE VEHICLE" I explained that where I purchased the vehicle was out of the way and she then proceeded to tell me that "It wasn't too far for you to purchase the vehicle there". A+++ for customer service and professionalism, lemme tell ya. It's crazy how they want to charge you an arm and a leg for vehicles but push money away for servicing LOL I really wish I would've gotten that ladies name, it's mind blowing how rude she was. I visited Nutley Kia again after losing my car in a flood (Hurricane Ida). I knew that I wanted to do business with them again because of the great experience I had and that my mom had when she went for her car. I knew there was a car shortage and was nervous they wouldn't have what I wanted on the lot. Chris was great about listening to my wants and needs and showing me several different cars that might fit what I wanted. I ended up leaving there with a 2019 Kia Sorento which I am very happy with. Chris was extremely personable, patient, and had a great sense of humor. He was also great in helping me clear out the belongings I was able to save from the flooded car (it was parked on their lot). I also met with Pete to discuss difference insurance/warranty options and he was also personable and knowledgable. I appreciate Anthony, the finance manager, for assisting with this process as well. The sales team at NUTLEY KIA were AMAZING. My salesperson was Peter Zamora and he was AMAZING. He took the time to answer any questions I had. He showed me an assortment of cars and never once pressured me into leasing or buying. He let us test drive the car I thought I might like. He made the TOTAL experience stress free! Thank you Peter! I ended up buying a Kia Sorento and I absolutely love it! When I went back to pick up my plates I asked Peter about certain features I was not familiar with and he happily went out to the car with me and explained everything. Horrible customer service. Their staff straight back to the owners have an entitled attitude and do not treat the customer with respect. I could barely get on the phone with a representative after several attempts, left on hold, hung up on, and then basically told to spit out the problem. I gave them the benefit of the doubt after a horrible sales experience when purchasing my lease over 2 years ago. I did it again after a rude service experience a year ago. This was the final straw. I can't even call the dealership to ask a question. It was difficult to even reach a person and then to be treated poorly because of their lacking. Lose the attitudes and do your jobs correctly! never go to nutley kia. upon lease expiration we decided to buy out the lease. was going to finance buyout with kia finance. nutley kia added over $2000 in additional fees and doubled the registration and title fees charged by the dmv. oh they said if they overcharged we would eventually get a check back. no reason to ever overcharge/charge double for reg/title fees. they are plain as day on the website. they obviously are not customer friendly or loyal to kia owners that have multiple kias. read more

Very unprofessional dealership. Workers treated my brother unfairly and tried to just make money off of car repairs. Charged him an initial price for his accident and when he brought it back because it was driving horrible after the so called "repairs" they charged him thousands for, they started to ignore him and blame him for the car not driving right. Horrible place to get a car from and do not take it here for repairs as they will charge you an arm and a leg and not even fix it. My wife had a great conversation with the gentleman Chris Martino who sold the car to us. Because of our work schedules and their service schedule we had to wait 2 months to come in to check the brakes. The brakes are slow to respond and it is dangerous. We took the car in and are now being forced to pay for the replacement. They threatened us by telling us it is not a safety issue that our breaks are at 5mm. If we wanted new brakes - which should have came with the car when w.ourchased it - we had to pay 500. We spoke to the manager and owner who all held the line that the brakes that they admitted were st 5mm did not need to be replaced and it was not a safety issue. i just bought my used car about 6 months ago, a kia sorento 2016. everything started falling apart and KIA's blames it all on "wear & tear". Whats the point of having is "certified" Both Brake lights went out 2 months after i bought it. Kia autopalce charged me $200 to fix it, which is ridiculous because i JUST BOUGHT IT I get a flat- $100 to fix it. its not even 7 months both my front headlights go out now, now $300 to fix it. I've bought three cars now from Nutley KIA. The first one got flooded out during Hurricane Sandy, so I had to buy two cars that year. After my replacement car was past its usefulness (over 115K miles and my friend cracked the front end) I came back and purchased one of their used cars--it was a fantastic deal with the warranty! Plus, the sales person came to Manhattan to pick us up on the day of the sale (in a Pandemic, mind you). That's the level of kindess and service this place delivers. I have had mildly bad experiences with the service department over the years, but their covid procedures were the last straw. I dropped my car off for an oil change and nobody in the service department was wearing a mask. I kind of tossed my keys to an employee to minimize contact and was laughed at. When I came to pick up my car I called ahead and asked to be met outside with my paperwork and keys because I didn't want to be exposed to covid. An employee did come out to do this, masked, but seemed to think I was being silly. I wrote an email to Kia corporate about the experience and they said their only policy is that dealerships follow local guidelines. Which Nutley Kia wasn't. After going to many dealerships and getting pricing information, we decided to visit Nutley Kia. Our salesman, Ken, was outstanding. He was very thorough as he showed us the features of the car. He and Tony, the GM worked to make sure that we ended up with the exact car that we wanted. Even after the car was purchased, Ken sat in the car with us for an hour helping us set everything up and showing us other things the car could do.
