This has been my most WORST experience ever at a car Service station. I called in place for an appointment I waited ONE Month for my2015 KIA SPORTAGE to be serviced and each time I had called the Service Departments for Updates on my car no one was calling giving me any information regarding the issues on my car. My car stayed at that horrible Service for two weeks. The service person named JOELLE RIVERA she was not POLITE nor knowledgeable or respectful to me as a customer. I explained to her I would prefer to speak to a Mechanic about my car, she said that is unlikely they don't speak to customers on phone. I asked for the Manager. she said that she was the Assistant Manager.ONE of the reasons that was giving my car not being ready a Mechanic had been hurt on job, I sympathize about worker. Now here is NIGHTMARE I picked my car up after two weeks JOELLE RIVERA started my car up and it made loud sounds and it was shaking terribly, she explained it had been sitting for while, I said that had never happen before I brought it here. I went to this Kia dealership since it had the best ratings in NJ. I had an idea to use my car for credit to get a new one. Valerie Valejo was the sale sales person available so I sat by her desk. I told her what I was looking for and she gave me a tour around the dealership to show me the cars that where available. I was really impressed with how patient and determined she was to help me. I had purchased a used car that had a severe problem after the first 200 miles/6 days of owning the car (car could not be driven afterwards), which requires an expensive repair. In the contracts, it stated if the car doesn't pass inspection, they will make the repairs. I had it towed to the dealership. I spoke with the sales manager and he said the repair was my responsibility. I said I spoke with the inspection agency and if the car can't be driven there, it won't pass inspection. He refuted. I asked to speak with his manager, which he said was the owner, who he also told me wasn't there. After speaking with the owner at a later date, the owner said, "oh yes, I remember hearing your call to our sales manager that evening." So either the owner was there and the sales manager was lying to me, or the owner wasn't present and just going off of what the sales manager told him. They refused to cover the repair (which they sent the car to another dealership for diagnostics and said the cost would be $1500), so went for legal advisement. AFTER I told them this, I was told by the owner I would be charged with storage fees and was responsible for the diagnostic costs, plus I had to remove the car from the dealership (being told I was responsible for these fees because I went to a lawyer). And although I was never told the car was originally taken to another dealership for the diagnostic, they also said I was responsible for the tow they authorized from their dealership to the other and back. All they would say was the issue was my fault... After only 200 miles. I ended up having to pay to get the car towed from their dealership and to my mechanic for the repair. The cost of the repair ended up only being $900... That's 40% less than they quoted me! This was while the dealership was still Nutley Buick Chevrolet. While it appears the sales manager is gone, the dealership is still under the same ownership and the owner was the one who threatened me with charges after only speaking with a lawyer. Also, at the time of purchasing the car, the sales person tried to show me a Carfax report for a different car (I looked it up ahead of time and asked some questions about some repairs made on the car). He told me the car didn't have such issues until I noticed the VIN number was different. He apologized that they had a similar car and I took it as an honest mistake. Afterwards, from the circumstances, I question the validity of that excuse. While it seems some people have had good experiences (which is fine), I know mine was one of those that makes people dread going to a car dealership. read more

She is so concerned about the bottom line of the company that she even told us performing a warranty repair would cost more than they'd be reimbursed...as if that's my problem!? PLEASE READ BEFORE PURCHASING ANYTHING FROM NUTLEY KIA This business practices with no integrity and in general is ethically unsound and overall misleading to its customers. I was coming up to the end of my lease so I called them to verify that my car was due at the end of the month. I was told by the receptionist that my lease was up June 30th (it was june 6th when I called). I was told I could come down today as they were offering great incentives and a few weeks left in my lease would not matter. When I got there I was told I could get into the same car ( only newer) for 15 dollars more a month. I explained that I did not have my contract as I had moved since I got my car and was not sure where it was. I had always had three year leases so I assumed it was coming to an end at the end of the month. Both the sales man and sales manager stated that my contract was up and they would take care of my last payment. I wanted the same exact car and was told they had to locate the car in white ( which is what I had already). I signed the paper work and thought everything was fine. I got a call a month later from the sales man saying I had a check at the dealership. I asked why and he was unable to tell me but stated there was a huge staff turn-over and a lot of paperwork had gone under the radar due to this. I was told to call Kia to ensure the payment was made from the dealership on my behalf. It was not. I called back and I was assured that they would call and ensure it did not go on my credit as it was now late and not my fault. I got a call a few days later saying "sorry nothing we can do your lease was not up for a year". Their response to telling me it was up when it wasn't, "our mistake, however the paperwork has gone through and there is nothing we can do". It gets better, my husband and I never signed any paperwork saying that we knew that we were returning the car early ( because we did not , in what world would it make sense to bring a car back early to pay 4000 for the exact same care at 15 dollars more a month intentionally). Jim the owner refused to speak to my husband (although he cosigned for the original car and had every right to ask for answers). Jim stood up and put his hand in my husband's face to silence him and stated he refused to talk to him. If you know my husband you know he is the calmest person in the world and this blatant disrespect and overall animal like behavior that Jim displayed was appalling to say the least. I could not help but wonder if his inability to talk to my husband stemmed from the guilt of him being a dishonest businessman and that it would be easier to manipulate a "vulnerable woman". This was clear sexism at its finest. After discussing this with a friend who worked there in the past I was told I am not at all crazy to feel this way as this is his MO. HE IS A SEXIST DISPICABLE MONEY HUNGRY MAN WHO DOES NOT CARE ABOUT CUSTOMERS AND WILL NOT ACT IN YOUR BEST INTEREST. INSTEAD THIS DEALERSHIP WORKS ON DISHONESTY TO LURE CUSTOMERS IN AND TAKE THEIR MONEY. I did think it was odd that they kept pushing the survey on me only to find out from the person that used to work there that they are continuously rated low due to their unethical and borderline illegal business practices. I have a lease ending in a couple months... I received about 5 phone calls from the dealership asking me to come by because I have very low mileage and we can trade my lease for another car. After so many calls, we figured - let's check it out. The second we walked into the door, we received hostility at the concept of trading our lease for another vehicle and getting some value against it. (Exactly what was told to me multiple times) In the end, I was frustrated that my time was wasted as they weren't even willing to entertain what was promised to lure me in. When I raised this concern, I got - "sorry, this our marketing company and there is nothing we can do". If your marketing company is falsely luring people, you should own that - apologize and do something about it. I was not happy overall with the service. Initially Nick provided good service and a good test drive. When we started to discuss the vehicle price, he went to the sales manager for even an initial price. He came back at $25,995. The internet price of the car was $25,000 on the website. When i stated that his price was $1000 over what was listed on the website, the sales manager remarked 'i'm just going off what he told me...' It gave the impression of dishonesty and moreover, that they were not informed about their inventory. Seemed like they just wanted to take advantage of an unsuspecting and uneducated buyer, which I am not. They were very friendly and had a good family feeling, which is why they received 2 stars. The place is unprofessional, I was coming from out of state to look at a used vehicle, the vehicle had 6,000 more miles than listed on the ad, their excuse was "the managers were driving the vehicle," the maintenance wasn't done since who knows when. It had different rims than listed, interior was in a lot bad shape than the normal wear and tear, the engine was dirty, fuel gage was on empty. After inspecting the vehicle for 10minutes I didn't even wanted to take the vehicle for a test drive. Over the phone they would tell you anything just to get you to go to the dealer.
