    Within two weeks of purchasing, the check engine light came on. The code that came up was P0430: Catalyst System Efficiency Below Threshold (Bank 2). When I brought the vehicle in, I was told by Lawrence that he would "make it right" or "get me into a new vehicle." I was so happy to have this reassurance, and felt confident the problem would be resolved. I came to your business for a reliable car, and trusted those that assisted me. This replacement was completed by your service department on 12/20/2025. I was so thrilled and grateful, that I actually wrote a hand-written note sent via snail mail thanking the team that worked with me through the process. Now, I feel like an idiot for thinking they cared about anything other than money. Since then, the check engine light came on again. The code that came up was P0340: Cylinder 4 misfire Detected. When I brought it to my mechanic, he found the wiring to be less than optimal. Nearly negligible, considering your service department had this vehicle, looked this vehicle over, and then even did work on this vehicle. The wires that were next to nothing, hanging by a thread, should have been seen. The wire caps that were found were meant for electrical wires in a home, not in a vehicle. This should have been fixed prior to selling, regardless of the "condition" it was being sold as. The engine of this car could have exploded on my drive home. My mechanic fixed the wiring that was neglected by your service department with the proper wires and parts. The check engine light was cleared. It has now re-appeared, with the same code as the first time, P0430: Catalyst System Efficiency Below Threshold (Bank 2). Less than 2 months after being replaced. While working on the car, my mechanic noted that the plate for the catalytic converter did not fit properly, giving him the inkling that it was an after-market catalytic converter that does not contain the proper amount of platinum to operate properly. I understand that this car was purchased "as-is," but there is a fine line between making things work to sell them and ignoring very detrimental issues.

    BE CAREFUL!!! My recent purchase on 08/30/2025. After carefully reviewing my signed Buyer's Order, I discovered that several additional products and services were added to my contract without my knowledge or consent. The unauthorized add-ons include: Lifetime Oil Change - $1,500 Nitro - $399 Theft Protection / ETCH - $499 Perma Plate - $1,023 These products were never explained, discussed, or approved by me at the time of purchase. This is a serious concern, as these unauthorized charges have increased the total cost of my vehicle by $3,421. **Update 9/13/2025** Last week, I visited your branch to pick up my license plate. I spoke with the Finance Manager and Ms. Erinda, and they told me that all the charges taken without my knowledge would be refunded after 30 days. Now, as requested, I have emailed Jay Jaber again yes, again, because when I first left my review here, I had also emailed the entire company, but never received any response. Let's see if there will be one this time. I will share all updates here.

    Long story short DCH Montclair Acura sold me these tires a mere 43 days ago. These tires have 3 different brands, all different tread lvls AND gashes missing out of 2 of the tires. I have attempted to call the manager 3 times now I will update accordingly. Update: it has been almost a month since they asked me 10 phone calls 10 voicemails later nothing. They suppiled a "dumbie number" to help with thier public image.

I paid $3,807.24 for a repair that started at $3,484 and was hit with a 3% credit card fee that wasn't disclosed on my invoice. Yes, there was a sign, but no one mentioned it verbally, and the charge wasn't itemized on paper. What's worse? Over $1,200 of the total was listed as "internal" work with no explanation, no transparency, and no breakdown of labor vs. parts. The actual parts added up to about $542. That means they billed me over $3,000 for labor and vague services. That's dealership robbery dressed up in a clean folder. No courtesy. No heads-up. Just an expensive surprise when the bill hit. If you care about your money and want transparency, take your car somewhere else. I won't be back and I'm letting folks know. The service advisor, Tony, lacked basic communication and courtesy. I had to reach out myself just to get a status update, and when he finally responded, the tone was dismissive. After telling me the parts had just arrived and the car wouldn't be ready, he called back later the same day to say it was done minutes before closing and made no effort to accommodate pickup. The interaction felt rushed and inconsiderate from start to finish. I don't know what Tony's job is but if customer service is part of it, he missed that whole module in training. The only thing smoother than their invoice game was how fast they swiped my card.

    Wanted to buy my daughter an inexpensive reliable car. Purchased a cheap high mileage used car at a…read morevery affordable price. I knew being an older model with high mileage that I was destined for future and possibly frequent repairs. I got the car home and within a short period of time the alternator broke. I priced out the job for a new alternator and it was quite expensive and shocking, so I happened to mention it to Claridge Motors and they insisted I bring the car back immediately, so they can fix it. Well they didn't just fix it. They also fixed other issues they found during their reinspection. All in all they replaced the battery, the cables, the terminals, the alternator, the tensioner, the ground wire, the serpentine belt and the starter. How much did it cost me? Absolutely nothing! That's right, unheard of from a used car dealer, especially when they could've said sorry, the car was sold "as is". But they didn't, and they were committed to making sure my daughter had a safe and reliable car to drive. If you're thinking of buying a used car, do go check out Claridge Motors, as you won't find a more ethical upstanding used car lot anywhere.

Drove over a loaner car for us as they sorted it out. It took about two months but we were able to get our plates. Tip to other yelpers: skip the headache of talking to your sales rep that doesn't know anything and go straight to the manager. I think internally they should have escalated this to the manager before me having to write the review but seems like a process they should work out internally and properly train their staff.

At this point, the pattern is clear: the dealership is willing to publicly "express concern," but unwilling to provide any written explanation, accountability, or solution privately. To date, DCH Montclair Acura has: -Delivered a vehicle it could not legally title or register -Failed to disclose a title problem at the time of sale -Refused to explain the title issue in writing -Suggested I continue driving with expired registration using a dealer letter, which offers no legal protection -Refused to provide a loaner or any lawful interim solution Asking a customer to "reach out" publicly and then ignoring them privately is not customer service -- it is damage control. If the dealership truly intended to resolve this, it would do so in writing, with transparency and a concrete plan. That has not happened. I am proceeding through formal regulatory channels. This response is for the benefit of future customers.
