This is my second time eating here. My first experience was positive, i decided to create my own which turned ok. This time i decided to try something from their own menu, i got the ricotta white w/ garlic and gorgonzola ( sorry cant remember the exact name). The pizza was very delicious and definitely stood out. This is one of the better personal pizza restaurants in DC, its just as good as &Pizza! Ive often prayed that an &Pizza establishment would open near my job, located in Farragut Square. While this place is not &Pizza, they are a very close. They offer the same "chipotle of pizza" concept. Instead of placing your order directly with a staff person, you're given a card to select your toppings. There's an assistant there to help you along the way. We were greeted and assisted by the sweetest young lady who walked us through every step of the way as first-timers. Lucky for us she happened to also be a former &Pizza employee. The topping offerings are similar to those of &Pizza however, they have slight variations. For instance, there's no option for the type of dough you want, you're allowed your choice of cheese, two meats, 4 toppings anything over these standards, will cost you extra. I went for the basil pesto sauce, two blend cheese of mozzarella and provolone and fresh mozzarella, sausage and pepperoni, mushrooms (which are sliced rather thick), artichokes, topped off with spinach, garlic and oregano oil. They don't offer shrimp or caramelized onions which I happen to love. Our assistant told us that she's been advocating for them to add shrimp to their list of proteins so hopefully the owner likes to read Yelp reviews and takes it into deeper consideration. Pizza was in and out in less than 4 minutes. Edges of the crust was toasted to perfection. The size of the pizza is smaller than &pizza but surprisingly I was unable to finish the entire pizza! Anyone who knows how I feel about my &Pizzas know That's a first for me! I was satisfied and full! The total cost of this pizza was around $9 which is a tad bit higher than its competitor. My only gripe would be that there's no where to sit inside. So that means in the meantime, while we still have a bit of warm weather left to enjoy, you can eat outside. Fast, easy, convenient. Plus, their ricotta sauce has great texture and a mild taste that complements many of their fresh ingredients. This is basically &Pizza without the endless toppings. I must say, I felt really appreciative, I have a Dairy allergy and am always careful, I explained to the gentleman that greeted me and they were all so great!! They changed their gloves and kept my pizza separated and not to mention they have my favorite Daiya fake cheese!!! Even though it just opened, they seem to already have their ducks in a row. It's cheap, fast, and a large cut above fast food pizza chains in quality. Is it the best pizza I've ever had? No. But it's hot, crisp, and a perfectly good lunch to bring back to the office. A personal pizza costs about $9 as long as you don't add more than 4 toppings. The system makes sense: you walk in, fill out a form with all the options, put your name at the top, and then hand it to the first staffer in line. They have an assembly line method that works well: sauce & cheese, toppings, oven, finishing/box-up and you're done. The whole process runs in about 5 minutes, once you hand your sheet to the first person. The best thing is the list of 'finishing' items that go on post-bake, like gorgonzola cheese, sun-dried tomatoes and a variety of oils. I've added Rosemary-Garlic Olive Oil to my pizza, and it's delicious. Oh, and the cookies are good too, though a bit small for the price. Small criticisms: -The sheets you fill out don't match the full toppings option list perfectly yet - they need to get things in sync. -They greet you right AT the door with the papers, and then people plant where they are and fill them out, so you wind up with a group blocking the door. Simple fix would just be to usher people into line and then hand them the paper. -Adding gluten-free and wheat dough options would be good, but I imagine that's coming. read more

I think it's the best fast casual pizza place in DC, yeah the competition is tough with the likes of &pizza, blaze, custom fuel, and the like all thriving in and around the district, but the little things like the crispier crust, sauces, and the provolone in the cheese put DC Pizza over the top. It doesn't go for all the thrills and marketing that other places do... they focus on the product and it shows. Tried this place shortly after it opened on a whim. I was very pleasantly surprised! You basically build your own pizza (sort of a Chipotle concept for pizza). The ingredients are fresh and there is a good selection of toppings. You get a cheese pizza for $6.50 or a 4 topping pie for about $9. The portion size is good and the topping quality is excellent. The crust is thin and just right. The line moves quickly and the staff is very friendly. I'll definitely be returning! read more

I finally got around to trying this place for the first time today. I was not impressed. I ordered a pepperoni, sausage and red onion pizza with their original sauce. It was too drippy for me with a pretty bland taste. The sad part is I had been craving pizza for a while and ended up with something subpar. Not sure I would go back anytime soon. read more

I really like anchovies, which is why I came back for a second time. The staff are super friendly and the system -- to order -- is very simple with desired ingredients highlighted. That said, my pizza was missing its anchovies. And, the first time around, my pizza was missing the basil I requested. Extremely friendly team/staff (managers, employees and ownership). They give out samples all the time (I work nearby). The price of the pizza is fair and they offer a great free options for after your pizza has been cooked (they use fast oven, pizza is baked while you wait in line). They move the line fast, much appreciated. They offer solid specials and are a friendly neighbor on 19th street, get on their email list for further specials/prices. Recently tried this spot for lunch and have to say I'm a fan. I don't usually have pizza for lunch, but will come here if I do. I went really late so there was no line which was awesome and the whole process was very quick. The staff were really friendly and the pizza was great. I got a veggie option and it was very filling - I couldn't eat the whole thing. There are also plenty of choices on the menu which is great. I read the reviews, realized I was just across the street, and stopped in on my way to my hotel. Four toppings on pesto base, with three cheeses...it was almost too wonderful. It was fast, delivered with smiles, and I wish I wasn't from across the country. Saved half to eat for later in my trip. The only thing I'd like is more comfy seating. If it were a little warmer, and it will be, it would be lovely to sit outside and eat it in a more ladylike way. I think children would love coming here to pick their toppings. Fabulous! Ordered delivery pizza from DC Pizza. The delivery man arrived very quickly (20min) at our hotel nearby. He was very polite and prompt. The pizza was hot and very good. It was the best mozzarella we have tasted and a good gluten-free veggy pizza for our special diets. I love DC Pizza! I would honestly go there every day for lunch if I could! I won't go through the process since so many people on here have, but the speed from start to finish is pretty impressive. I've been multiple times and always build my own with something different and it's always delicious. My personal favorite: spicy tomato sauce, house blend cheese, peppers, spinach, basil and sausage. I am also one of those people who can't have pizza without hot sauce so I really like the awesome selection of hot sauces they offer. Oh, and it's totally affordable. So excited to have a "build your own" pizza place a few blocks from my office. &Pizza is and will always be my favorite personalized pizza joint because of their great toppings and super crispy crust. The staff at this location are wonderful and very courteous, despite being super busy with people from the hundreds of offices in the area descending at lunchtime. My only criticisms would be that the pizza could be cooked longer (slower setting on the rotating oven thing) to allow the crust to get crispier and the cheese to turn that gorgeous golden color in spots, and that their toppings could use some sprucing up too. Really good pizza: fresh ingredients, generous size, reasonable price. Friendly, efficient staff, with the owners often on the premises pitching in. The story of the 45 minute pizza. While waiting on a friend for lunch I decided to pre-order my meal so that I would not have to wait in line once she arrived. So I mosied over to the website dcpizzaonline.com which which directed me to grub hub to complete the online order. I submitted the order around 1:15 and was told it would not be ready until 1:38 (First red-flag); however I did not question it as sometimes these systems push the time back since the store can be really busy (i.e., chipotle). So I arrived in the interior around 1:30 to check the progress of my order. The clerk than looks through the orders and can't find mine - she yells to the back to ask for any faxes (Second red-flag) and was than brought my order. I was told that it would be just a moment....five minutes later at 1:35 I ask if my order is ready. I was waiting the entire time right by the register so I wouldn't miss my name being called. "Um, let me check...oh what is going on" that is what I got when I asked where my food was. I was then told it would be out in a second. I finally got my order at 1:48 pm. I am 100% absolutely sure that if I had stood in line I would have gotten my food faster. The disorganization and utter lack of concern was very frustrating. Needless to say they will never get my $$ again. So I got to waste my entire lunch break and am now back in my office with food I have no time to eat. Thanks DC Pizza. read more

Office called 4 separate times asking for the ingredients in the pizza dough and each time was told that they couldn't answer for us and that the manager would call us back. We gave our contact information - the manager never called, and still on the 4th call they couldn't give us any information.
