I've been here twice, both times I left very unimpressed by the food, having leftovers and not really wanting to take them home with me. Maybe it's just my taste, but I've had way better italian food at a variety of other restaurants. My husband and father was also not impressed with their food, although my mother enjoys it somewhat. I'm wondering if it has something to do with their sauces..? Anyway, In my opinion the best part about eating at Da Vinci's is the bread and the dinner salad. Never, ever again!!! After I had specifically asked if there was any pepper in the dish, I was told by the waitress (who checked with the kitchen) that there was no pepper in the dish. Food comes... One bite, and I'm done. It may not have been pepper, but there was SOMETHING hot & spicy in the dish! Then someone comes out from the kitchen and starts swearing there is no pepper in the dish... Sir ~ it is NOT cool to stand there and argue with a customer!!! Even my husband, who LIKES hot stuff, had problems with his Shrimp Scampi... far too many chile flakes in it... WTH ~ Isn't Shrimp Scampi supposed to be all about Garlic?!?! Salads ~ VERY limited choice of dressings... The ONLY good thing about the place was the bread. but they certainly can't take credit for that ~ it's imported from NY! We won't be going back, nor will we be recommending the place. read more

Have always had great service and great food at Davinci's. The hot fudge brownie dessert is to die for.

Just went to happy hour at daVinci's in Eagle, ID. Food is average and therefore overpriced for the quality. My daughter ordered a chicken parmesan sandwich without bread from the happy hour menu. The bar tender rang it up as a dinner entree which is $10 more. When we pointed this out he said it came with a salad (normally a $2.95 side) and refused to change it. The wait staff did the bare minimum during our visit. Needless to say we will not be back. read more

Not terrible but not that great. It's the small details that makes the difference in the overall experience. The clams appetizer was overcooked and way too salty. Clams are supposed to be plump and juicy and slightly steamed. Not an exciting menu and the food lacked luster. Nothing really separates this place from similar Italian food chains. 3.5 Stars. Went there on a week night during a snow storm and got a booth with no waiting. The bar was packed so that seems like a good sign. Wanted to try some place more casual and easier to get in than Gino's in Meridian. The booth was a bit tight so if you are on the larger side ask for a table instead. Wife ordered hot tea...server brought a selection of teas but they were all kinda foo foo flavored teas. Server first brought just a coffee cup of hot water but later returned with a small pot of water without us asking for more.I had a Coke and got plenty of refills. We both ordered a side Caesar salad. It came all in one large bowl and we served ourselves. Plenty of extra salad for seconds. The dressing was a bit too lemony for my taste. We only got a small plate to put our salads on and no plate for the bread so the one plate acted for both salad and bread. Speaking of the bread, we loved it! We are originally from the SF Bay Area, home of sourdough bread. That is the one thing that we have not been able to find in Idaho...this was the best bread we have had in Idaho! Wife had Shrimp Fettuccine Alfredo and I had Spaghetti and Meat Balls. Pasta dishes need to be served with a large spoon to spin your fork on italian style...daVinci's needs to provide them. Wife said the Shrimp was cooked perfectly but said the noodles were the wrong size....thought they were too big. My dinner was good, plenty of large meatballs and I actually struggled to eat it all. Overall it was a good meal with attentive service by our waitress. We will be back soon to try other things on the menu as well as more bread! read more

We had been dying to try this place, however, as newcomers to the area, we didn't realize that it was only open for dinner; 7 days a week. On Father's Day; our Cat Henry decided that he would like to treat his "Dad" for dinner and so off we went. We loved the historic atmosphere at the bar where this restaurant serves cocktails and appetizers from 4:00 - 5:00 PM. When it was time for our dinner reservation, we were seated in the dining room where Hayden introduced himself as our waiter and explained a bit of the historic charm of the building; which used to be a bank in 1910. He brought us menus and took our drink orders right away without rushing us to make a decision. The salads before the meal were crisp and fresh (it's difficult to find a great Ceasar Salad) and the pasta dish we both ordered was out-of-this-world! Called "The Roman," it was a generous portion of pasta with a spicy seafood tomato sauce. We are avid Italian cuisine connoisseurs and found this dish amazingly tasty and authentically Italian. Hayden did an excellent job of caring for us throughout the meal. Dining here was a wonderful experience. We will definitely eat here again, as a couple or with friends. read more

OK Eagle eatery.......found the food was what I expected, which isn't always the best indicator in places where you don't expect to be wowed. Having come from NYC to Idaho, maybe I expect a little more individuality in eateries...didn't find anything to set them apart of any other OK restaurant available for a $30-$50 tab w/ a drink and all accompliments.... Am certainly glad to have businesses survive in such a small township, we've gone for dinner only maybe twice in the past three years......definately better choices not that much further to drive, but for any easy evening eating in town, I would recommend to anyone not expecting to be "blown away" by any one thing they eat..:) read more

Food is fabulous!!! Every time we have been there we've tried something different and been thrilled with the results. However, we don't take our kids because it's not kid friendly with the menu from what we've seen and the bar traffic. Service is LACKING at times, even when it's not busy. The Wait staff seems to disappear into the back and just don't seem to care that drinks were empty, bread needs refurbished, etc. read more

Walked in for an evening dinner. Sit down at our table and the dialect thing I see is lipstick on my water glass. Dang. Oh it's free wine tasting they say. While waiting in our booth I see food on the wall next to be and food under the glass in the table. Not a pleasant sight. Wine guys comes and pours our firsts free sample and says he will be back. Never comes back and is just hanging out at the bar when we leave. Just poor service on that wine reps part. The salad was brought out and they asked if we wanted Parmesan. Yes and they brought out a pizza shaker of it. Cheap pizza joint style at an Italian restaurant. Then the floor is so dirty it's beyond describable. The food i had was really good. The Sicilian. Very very good and disappointing that all the other stuff ruins the food. My wife enjoyed her food also. The wine was served and came out in extremely cold glasses and the red house wine itself was cold. Very cold which made it taste bad. Just so you know, I realize that some people can just have an off day, therefore I usually give businesses multiple chances to do good. This was my forth and last visit to this restaurant. I went by myself as the family was out of town. The setting, a bar full of people, 4 families dining and 5 waiters. 20 minutes later, someone takes my order! 45 minutes later I get my dinner; spaghetti and meatballs. ($16.00) No offer of cheese or anything else. The noodles were so over cooked, a piece of gum would have been better. I told the waiter the problem; he responded, "I'm sorry you feel that way." I cashed out and left; didn't even finish my meal. When walking towards the door, I see the waiter hugging some girl in the bar. Real professional! Done with this place! This is a very friendly neighborhood type Italian restaurant in an old bank building in Eagle. It's very casual and the food is good. I especially like the Chicken Parmigiana and the Fettucine Alfredo. It's just a nice place to come on a spur of the moment dining out experience. Very small and intimate space! read more

Visiting from CA and I have to say we have been there twice and we have been here three days. We loved he nice atmosphere and great service from the waiting staff. Not as fast here but as far as food delivery and water refill etc, but the bottom line is the quality of food. The chicken parmesan is amazing with the angel hair with garlic oil. I highly recommend. My wife is a spaghetti fan and she loved it. And you can't argue with kids meals with drink for around 5$. The house red wine was actually really nice and we spend a lot of money on wine at home due to being near Napa. Great value and great food. I'm sure we will be there again. read more

I think the positive reviews of this place were put there by the restaurant staff. This place is like the IHOP of Italian food and a total dive. Dirty tables, rude staff and greasy appetizers on stale bread. There are much better places to dine in Eagle, for the same price, with much better food and ambiance. I would suggest going to Bardenay, which is next to the Hilton Garden Inn just a few minutes away. Don't waste your time or money here........you will be disappointed! read more

I have been to this establishment 5 times over a six year period living in Eagle Idaho. We were there over the weekend of July18 & 19. We came in around 9:30 pm on a Saturday night, sitting in the bar. I am sure we sat there for at least 8 minutes with the squatty bartender looking at us and not moving toward us and two servers young and blond also looking at us with no intention of helping us. So I got up with my wife and mad as hell told the bartender I guess you have made enough money for the night and the service here stinks. We went across the street and had an enjoyable night cap and dinner. My last experience was just as bad believe me sitting on the sidewalk outside the restaurant I had to use my cell phone and call inside to get some service. This will be my last ever attempt to eat or drink in this poorly serviced establishment. read more

While the food was decent, the price tag was completely unexpected. I ordered the Mona Lisa - pasta with veggies and a tomato sauce. I asked if I could substitute the tomato sauce for cream sauce and was told it would be a little bit more expensive - not $7 more expensive (original priced was $14.95)!!! WTF! I was charged for a regular pasta with alfredo sauce AND then charged for the additional veggies. It was so-so to begin with and certainly not worth an extra $7. Lame. Plus, I hit happy hour and was charged full price for my wine. :( I will definitely NOT be heading back to this join anytime soon and I will NOT recommend it to others. read more

We're new to Eagle and have had dinner here several times, and never been disappointed. In addition to moderately-priced pasta entrees, there are usually three specials each evening. My favorite is their fresh pomodoro sauce - the tomatoes are flavorful, enhanced by the basil, balsamic vinegar and olive oil. My husband loves the sicilian pasta entree. Both always come with delicious fresh bread and plenty of fresh salad. The service is friendly and they serve local wines, too. read more

Based on a referral we decided to go to daVinci's for our anniversary dinner. We were very pleased with the menu, the food and the service. We ordered veal and chicken parm and both of us were very satisfied, although the chicken dish would win out if there were a contest. We ordered wine to go with these dishes and were quite satisfied with that as well. We had reservations, although they probably would not have been necessary on this particular evening. Our server was Gianna and we were so pleased with not only the service, but her willingness to make us welcome and visit with us a bit. The reason I won't go back was not the food. The waiter brought out the salad and some plates. My plate had a few crumbs on it. No problem, but then the waiter took his finger and attempted to wipe the crumbs off the plate. No thanks. I won't be back. I remembered davincis as being the best Italian food around. Great food - slow service. The spaghetti and meatballs here are my favorite anywhere. My BF always gets the chicken parmesan and it is on point every time. The bread is great and I like the simple dinner salad. The prices are a bit high for Italian food but the food is so good we continue to come here for dinner. Drove by and noticed it while cruising the quaint Eagle downtown. It was a small-ish, somewhat intimate environment, nice music and decor. Our server was very polite and attentive, as well as very conscious not to interrupt at an inappropriate moment. Salad and bread was average to below average, should have gone with the caesar salad instead of regular greens. Croutons were a little too crunchy. Entree-wise was very good, we had spaghetti and meatballs and also the seafood lasagna. Low risk high reward there, but it paid off this time. Overall, the salad and bread served with the entrees were blah, entrees exceeded expectations, and the service was above average. Recommend trying it out, as it also has a patio area out front, which is what we should have done because the restaurant was a little on the chilly side. read more

We moved here from New England and had been spoiled by Boston's North End and many other great Italian places to choose from. Davinci's is the best Italian restaurant we have found in the Boise area. It is very low key but with great, simple Italian food. My favorite is the spinach linguini with their Tuscan tomato sauce. But it really is the local uppity "watering hole" for downtown Eagle. Comfortable and roomie seating. Much more emphasis on the bar rather then the restaurant/food. Ordered the meat lasagna and the chicken marsala. The lasagna was oily and filled with carrots? The marsala looked like a tv dinner. For meals over $15 a piece? Wait staff was cordial, but nothing I would expect from a fine dining establishment. More of a fine dining sports bar. The only reason I gave them a 4 is because they ran out of Captain Morgan, but it also happens to be the drink of choice for a lot of us who went, so that may have happened anywhere. read more

I gave this place 3 chances as I know that any business (especially a restaurant) can have an "off day/night" however they totally blew it every time! Terrible service and upon speaking with the owner on the third time he was rude and condescending. It seems that this place is a "big fish" in a small pond of places to eat and we will never be back (despite now living in Eagle) and we will never refer the location. I will admit that my meal was great BUT that is all I can say about this place. Where do I start? The dirty dishes on our table? The empty water glasses? How about the limp, tasteless calamari? The grumpy wait staff? I know, let's discuss the course black hair found in my friends pasta dish and the smirk on the wait staffs face when I told her to remove the cost from the bill, which they didn't. They even added the gratuity to the bill TWICE. They even charged us for the slice of cake for my girlfriend's birthday. With the current economic situation, I feel that if you're going to run a restaurant and charge the prices you charge, you'd better provide damn good service.
