Was invited to this place to celebrate a birthday. Very nice inside like the decor, wasnt busy at all for a Saturday evening. Our waitress was nice but service was extremely slow. Arrived at 6pm our order was taken toll after 7. That was just the drinks and appetizers. At the point I was ready to go. We were made aware that they were short staffed although there where plenty of employees walking around doing nothing. We had the pork burnt ends fir the appetizer. Do not recommend they were not prepared properly at all. I ordered the classic burger with no option on how I would like my burger prepared. The burger comes with these huge potato wedges. I will say the burger and wedges were delicious. My husband had the crab cake sandwich with brussel sprouts. He enjoyed it but it was a no for me. He also a smoked old fashion, super watered down. Didn't get to eat here. The restaurant was VERY empty and when my guest arrived with her 4 year old daughter she asked to be re-seated. Due to the overpowering smell of cigarettes where we were seated. The owner has chosen to comment so I need to clarify why we smelled cigarettes. The restaurant isn't enclosed in. Meaning, it's has a nice open floor plan and no closing front doors. As a result the location we were seated in was at the front of the restaurant which is near sliding glass doors of the hotel area. As many people know those who smoke do so right outside of the doors. I guess on our particular visit someone was chain smoking near the doors. Which drifted inside. Because again...there arent doors to separate the hotel lobby/check-in area from the restaurant or bar. My friend had a 4 year old who has a sensitivity to cigarettes and that's why we requested to move. This request proved to be too much for both our waitress and the host. It took almost 10 min and lots of shifty looks and even a walk to the back of the restaurant before my friend walked to the hostess stand to find out what the delay was. The hostess mentioned to her that she was just told we wanted to move (10 min after we saw our waitress talk to her). She said it would be a few min more. My friend was annoyed by this and asked me if we could go somewhere else. So disappointed because I had heard such great things about David's. We decided to leave and go to Eggspecation instead. Sidenote: Destinee from Valet is amazing!!!!! She's the most amazing attitude! They do free valet here which is amazing. Save a few $$ for a tip. read more

Quite disappointing overall. We've enjoyed the Sunday brunch at David's in the past, but think that we will be trying some other brunch places going forward. First, David's no longer includes coffee or juices in the buffett price and they must be purchased separately....What?! Second, the brunch menu items have been pared down to look more like a Denny's brunch rather than a high end brunch location. The french toast was way under-cooked, the oysters had an off taste to them, the shrimp were overcooked, and no mushrooms in the make your own omelet station....What?! The best part of the food offerings were the desserts for sure. Finally, the bill nickel and dimes you with fees. facility fee, mandatory gratuity regardless of party size, and state tax that made no mathematical sense at all. It's a shame that our fav brunch place has gone downhill recently....time to find a new Sunday Brunch location! read more

I went by myself to have a relaxing lunch on 8/16 at 3:00. There was only one other couple there. I ordered the turkey Cristo. The sandwich was grilled on the outside, but was so wet that it fell apart in my hand. It tasted like raw egg. I looked inside and it had been soaked in egg and was extremely soggy. I ate some of the inside and the fries were fine. The waitress looked at it and offered to take it back. I did not want to wait because I was getting very nauseous. This was a horrible experience. This was a nice little find, in the way back of the casino inside of the hotel. My friends and I only stumbled across this place because the Cheesecake Factory wait was RIDICULOUSLY long. We only waited here about 10 minutes before we were seated and the staff was very friendly. The one complaint would be that it look quite awhile for the food and drinks to come out. Also, this establishment is a little pricey, but it was still a good experience. I ordered the two pounds of shrimp and definitely got my monies worth. I really was excited about coming to this new restaurant at Live. But I'm so disappointed to have to write this review. We came here for dinner before watching the KC and the Sunshine band show. It was pretty busy there that day, and I really wanted to try their food. Also, the ambiance was beautiful so we decided to sit at the bar. Big mistake! We received the worst customer service ever, by the bar tender. He did not smile, did not welcome us. When I flagged him to signify I was ready to order, he did not ask what I would like. He just pointed at me, without a word to have me place my order. He did not ask how our food was. We waited over 45 min for our food. We had the rockfish and the crab on crab. They had good flavor, but both dishes were barely warm in temperature. When we were done and asked for the check, our bartender did not say thanks. He just threw down my check and credit card, by the way that I had waited forever to get the check. I even over heard his fellow waiter say, "Name of bartender, you need to pick up their check". That was the worst customer service I've ever encountered. I think that one has to actually try to come off as so rude. Kia was our server and she made this 1st time experience pleasurable. She was really attentive and visited us frequently to make sure we were okay. I really appreciate her for making this first experience a good one. We started off with the crab dip which was accompanied by tasty pretzels. We then ordered a flight, along with the two crab on crab entrees. The flights were great especially the grapefruit option. The crab on crab was good but it was not great. There was a lot of filler and there was backfin crab meat for the market price of jumbo lump. The actual crab was also raw and extremely mushy. Yuck! Our entrees were also missing the coleslaw which is mentioned in the dish description box. I later asked our server for both coleslaw and lemons. Overall The flavor was good I must say. My friend ordered the chicken and waffles which looked really appetizing as you can see and she had nothing but great comments about it. I would definitely return for the drinks. read more

After losing all of our money in the casino we decided to eat breakfast here to cheer ourselves up! The decor was beautiful and our host/waitress Precious was an absolute sweetheart. We got here about 10ish in the morning and there was only a handful of people in the restaurant. I mention this because our food took such a long time after we ordered to arrive to the table. We ordered pancakes and waffles, nothing too complicated for the kitchen to make. The table seated next to us arrived about ten minutes after us and their food came out when we were leaving. I am not sure why the kitchen was so slow, but at least we had no complaints when our food finally did arrive. The pancakes and waffle were so good! The three egg breakfast that we shared as a side to our meals was good as well. Overall our breakfast managed to hit the right spot after a depressing loss on the slots. Horrible service. Sat down at our table and waited 20 minutes for someone to even give us water. We would've been sitting longer if we hadn't said anything. Finally ordered drinks and our dinner which took quite awhile to get the drinks and had to ask where our dinner was. Never was offered a percentage off our bill or comped drinks. David's was just OK. While the prices were fantastic based on what we were expecting (considering it's in a casino), the food itself was average and the service was a bit lacking, Everyone was polite but the fact that maybe a third of the tables were full would make us think that we'd have our waiter bugging us constantly. The opposite was true - he came over just occasionally to make sure things were OK. Could have done better. In addition we had a Visa gift card that was supposedly worth $40. They only allowed us to use $32, telling us that the bank "normally" takes a percentage off the top. We got this as a gift. I'd think that a $40 gift card would be worth ... hmmm ... $40. I don't know how Visa gift cards usually work and I will assume that the restaurant wasn't taking advantage of us, but it did unfortunately leave a bad taste in our mouths. May or may not go again. Even though we live quite close, it's just TBD. Maybe if we happen to be in the neighborhood with nowhere else to go. read more

We went for Sunday brunch. $55 for everything that was promised on the online menu seemed pretty reasonable, and the $15 bottomless mimosas was a good price. The server was great. The issue was that what was on the buffet was definitely not what was advertised. Everything on the online Sunday brunch buffet menu sounded amazing, but when we went, a lot of things promised on the menu were missing. There weren't yogurt parfaits, Chesapeake smokehouse salmon, eggs benedict, and potato hash were not there. There was a greasy catfish and gelatinous grits dish, but almost everything, including the catfish, was lukewarm. That said, the pastries were amazing and the omelette station was good as well. The service and atmosphere were great, but the quality of the food was not what I would expect for a $55 buffet. read more

Venue is modern & trendy. Very limited seatings. Best to make reservations. They have live music on weekends. Menu is only 2 pages long. They serves breakfast all day from the look of the menu. This restaurant was exceptionally underwhelming. That's the only thing I can think of to describe it. Where do I start, where do I start. Sloooooooooooooooow, slow slow slow. And the food was cold. We ordered a range of things (Old Fashioned's, Sangria, Cesar Salads, Calamari. Fried Oysters, Salmon, Motz Stack) and only one or two of the dishes could be classified as warm at best. Just to be clear - AT BEST. The place wasn't crowded, and we couldn't understand what was taking so long. Our party was charged for things we shouldn't have been, and again, things were just slow. I can't see a reason to come back. We would have ordered more food, but we just didn't have the time. This was just pure disappointment. We asked for the check and it took close to 30 minutes for the check to be cashed out. May I add again, it wasn't crowded. After waiting, they then brought a small p.o.s. machine to the table to cash us out at the table - which was insane. I've never seen anything like it. read more

I went with a group for brunch, the restaurant was not busy at all however the service was soooo slow. It was crazy how long it took the food to come out and the refills for drinks.(45mins) Once the food finally arrived everything was deelish.(which is why I gave it 3 stars) I don't know if the service is better during dinner hours, because strangely enough brunch is only 2 hours (12 to 2). The food taste fine and it's not so pricey considering it's a restaurant inside a casino. The Meatball is a bit smaller than a tennis ball. It is not the same size as Olive Garden's giant meatball that's the same size as a small plate. The Giant Meatball & Spaghetti was the best part of our orders though. I shall return. Our meals were beyond expectations! I had the best chicken sandwich I've ever had! It was hot, juicy and the toppings were all fresh. My husband had a seafood pasta dish that was exceptionally flavorful and cooked perfectly. 5 stars to the chefs, Nate, Rajib and Nick!! If I could give 10 stars I would! Cool place, good food, and a great staff. Atmosphere: the place itself is really nice and modern. it's stylish, clean, and very bright. It took us a bit to navigate the casino floor to find it which kind of sucks. There is probably a better entrance to the hotel/restaurant itself that doesn't require traipsing the slot machine jungle, but I couldn't find it. We visited at about 4 p.m and had the place to ourselves. Food: Awesome food. We had the fried cheese stack to start, which was huge, hot, and delicious. Definitely sized to share. We also ordered the cornbread and chicken and waffle to share. Both were hot and very good. Service: legit. The hostess was very friendly and professional. Our server (Sean I think), was awesome, super friendly and professional in a genuine way. Staff was attentive and food came out quick. Overall experience was really good. Only downsides are the location with the casino and somewhat small menu. read more

One of the worst experiences I've ever had at a restaurant. Save your time and money and eat at one of the many other options in Hanover with better food and service. We had a large party of 16. My friend made reservations for her birthday brunch several days in advance (had to sign a contract and everything). When we arrived we found out that the person she spoke to scheduled the reservation for the wrong day - a day early. The restaurant was completely dead, so they were able to accommodate us, but it was almost a full hour after the reservation was supposed to start. Please note that it didn't take an hour because there weren't tables available (as you will see from my pictures). The food was average. I had "chicken and waffle". The chicken was good but the waffles were super dry. The waitress was very good (Kia). Around 2:30 the manager Paige came over to tell us that we were supposed to be done by 2pm (we weren't even seated until 1pm). I've never been at a restaurant that tells you when you have to leave the restaurant. Then she told us that she would give us until 3pm to leave (as if she was doing us a favor). When we gave her feedback about her poor service she rolled her eyes as she walked away. I'm also posting pictures so you can see how empty it was. It was this empty when we arrived and when we left. I've never been told I had a time limit when eating at a restaurant...even more mind boggling considering how empty it was. I will never ever eat here again!!!! read more

On November 17, 2024 Had diner at David's where I and 2 others were charged 23$,28$ and 23$ for one glass of wine. When we questioned the bill was told by the waitress that all were charged for 9oz glass of wine because were out of 6 oz. glasses. This explanation added insult to injury, was condescending and woefully ridiculous. As a wine drinker I am acutely aware that the same glass is served whether one is getting 6 or 9 ounces of wine. Bottom line what occurred here was barely short of fraud-the wine list noted each glass of wine and the price for 6ozs, yet we were charged for 9 without explaining why or that this would occur before we ordered. Our option to choose was abridged in an egregious manner. (was fraudulent and deliberately misleading. There were multiple ways we were told this would be mitigated, first lie told was that 20$ would be put on our Live playing cards, did not happen. Our hosts followed up and received no relief, more vague promises. It should be noted that these kind of practices are not about transparence and indeed about price gouging. In a case like this when the restaurant has been caught at fraud and misleading practices the simple solution would have been return our money/issue a credit the one of us who used a credit card. I will search or try to ascertain a way of getting in touch with corporate headquarters for this restaurant-need to know who made this decision and if made at the location why management staff was not given the independence to do the right thing which was to return the xtra money paid for a glass of wine-My name is Beverly Spence my wine was listed as 16$ 6oz-paid and additional12$ for 3xtra ounces which I did not order, total being 28$ which is patently absurd without disclosing this fact so that I was afforded the option to say No, which I certainly would have said. For these reasons I cannot recommend this establishment to anyone-could have been this was a one time occurrence exploiting the fact that Gladys Knight was appearing in the Casino-ONCE IS MORE THAN ENOUGH. Our host Veronica Lipscomb is pursuing the return of our money-I will attempt to memorialize this issue with corporate headquarters. read more

I was part of a party of 4 with a small child. We ordered 5 pounds of crab legs, one cheeseburger, a half rack of ribs, two appetizers. The appetizers came out fairly quickly. The entrées NEVER came. We waited for over 40 minutes AFTER GETTING THE APPETIZER before we finally left. Our waitress was incredibly apologetic. My family was visiting from out of town and had to leave without receiving their food for them to catch their flight. I will not be back. read more

As a regular at David's, I was surprised to see the menu and uniform change. People loved the Chicken & Waffles and the management team should have conducted research prior to changing the menu. The bartenders know what the customers like and their opinion should matter. After all, they have a direct ear to the customer. Also, the uniforms with the cleavage exposed is too much. This is not a sports bar like Hooters but an upscale bar. Why exploit these young ladies and expose them to unsolicited advances. I love David's and the food, drinks and service is always good. Also, I was informed that they were going to remodel the bar area and remove the partition that separates customers looking on the other side. Several customers were discussing it last night and that it was a bad idea. We don't want to sit at the bar and have to look at the customers on the other side. Once again, this is not a Sport bar. However, the customers are always right and the atmosphere need to remain upscale. If it changes into a sports bar, I will no longer be a customer. read more
