My sons and I ate here! We had the potstickers, fried chicken, ramen and soba noodles. We enjoyed all of our choices. The service was great and fast! The restaurant is clean and there are a variety of options!
summary: Kajiken is a relatively new spot located in a shopping strip across from Arundel Mills and it impresses on all counts. From the moment we walked in, the service staff stuck out with the level of attention and care they presented us with. They were very kind and accommodating throughout our visit. The decor was beautiful with booth and table style seating. The menu itself was organized very straightforward with appetizers and the different types of noodle offerings in an easy-to-read way. Most importantly, the food was great. Everything was really well balanced with a great depth of flavor. The noodles had a good bite/chew to them. My only nitpick was that the chashu was a bit tougher than I typically like, but it wasn't that big of a deal. It was my first time trying an arubasoba style noodle dish and I tried one of their local flavors in the old bay eki. It was very bright/fresh and had great pops of cajun flavor from the Old Bay. Very well done. The chicken karaage seemed like a great deal for $8 and it was also done very well. Very juicy and tender pieces of chicken with a great fry to them. A very good experience through and through and would love to visit again soon.
3.28.26 I was near Arundel Mills Mall and looking for an Asian restaurant for dinner when this spot came up on Yelp. Given its strong overall rating, I decided to give it a try. I reviewed the menu in advance and already had my mind set on the Sukiyaki Don -- a rice bowl with marinated beef, onions, and scallions. When I arrived, I initially planned to place my order at the kiosk for carryout. However, a staff member promptly acknowledged me, so I opted to order directly with her instead. My food was ready in record time--less than five minutes later, I was on my way. At first glance, the container seemed quite small, but once I plated the contents, the portion felt more substantial than expected. The beef was flavorful, tender, and nicely fatty--just how I prefer it. That said, the ratio of meat to rice was a bit unbalanced, with significantly more rice than beef. As a result, I found myself wishing for more sauce to better complement the rice and ended up adding soy sauce. Overall, the service was quick and friendly, and the entree was enjoyable. A slightly more generous portion of beef and/or sauce would have elevated the dish further.
I have been here 2 times and both times were just ok. The chicken curry lacks flavor. It's not bad, but it definitely needs additional toppings. Toppings are free in the restaurant but they charge extra for them in delivery. The inside of the restaurant is designed like a traditional ramen shop. It's not bad but don't expect to be wowed
10/10 for me. Everything was tasty, my household had the roasted beef & chicken ramen. I'd also recommend the pork dumplings & karaage as appetizers.
A solid 4.5 stars The ambiance was inviting, cute place but a little chilly. The service was fast & efficient. The food was really good! Fresh, flavorful and filling! My husband enjoyed it so much he almost ordered some to take home. Can't beat the price either... We'll be back!
Finally able to try Kajiken with friends. The space is minimalist and more tables in the back. It didn't feel like a chain to me. Our server was Caitlyn and she was wonderful. We ordered appetizers for the table. We ordered the fried oysters, octopus balls and chicken. I really enjoyed the oysters and chicken. For our entress, we all ordered the roast beef brothless noodles. I was skeptical at first but I have to say it was delicious. The noodles were soft and fresh. The sparkling plum is delicious, not too sweet of a drink. They were kind enough to let us bring dessert since we were celebrating birthdays. I will definitely come back and try other things on the menu. The price point is the same as other ramen restaurants.
I was in the area for work and looking for dinner. This restaurant is near my hotel, so on my first night I decided to come by. I walked in, but they were pretty busy (and I was starving). I knew that the next night I would be able to arrive earlier, so I opted to come back. Having some work to do, I was going to get takeout. On my ride back to the hotel, I tried to order through the app, but unfortunately, they don't take credit cards (only Apple Pay); having a corporate card, this wasn't an option. When I arrived, I walked in and saw a kiosk to order to go. I was greeted immediately and let them know that I was going to order something; they offered assistance if needed. I ordered the Tebasaki: Nagoya Style Fried Chicken Wings and the Tonkotsu Shoyu: Thin Noodles in Soy Sauce Pork Broth, topped with Pork Belly Chashu, Soft Boiled Egg, Menma, Nori, and Scallion. I waited for the food to come out, which took about 20 minutes total. The restaurant was clean and had a comfortable feel to it. The food coming out looked great, and the service seemed to be very good (from what I could see). Once I had my food, I took the 3-minute drive back to my hotel and unpacked it. Everything looked great and was still hot (I wouldn't hold that against them if it wasn't, as it was about 15 degrees outside). The wings first, I took a bite and the crispy exterior was great and had a great flavor. The glaze was good, but it was lacking on much of the wing itself. I definitely would've liked a more even coating. But they were good nonetheless. While I ate my wings, I placed my noodles and other ingredients in the tonkotsu (they come separately when ordered through takeout, which is really smart). I took a bite, and it was as good as I would've hoped for. A silky flavor from the tonkotsu, with a slightly salty flavor from the shoyu. The pork was great, but the standout for me was the soft-boiled egg that was marinated in soy. The noodles had the perfect chew on them. Very good ramen, not the best I've ever had, but better than most. I'll be coming back here and will try more items. Maybe next time I'll dine in, but honestly, when the takeout is so good, and I can get work done in my hotel while I eat...I may just do takeout again.
Tried Kajiken in Odenton for the first time and really liked it! The place has a chill vibe -- clean, cozy, and easygoing. The staff were friendly and quick, which made the whole experience even better. I got the beef over rice and spicy tonsoce ramen, and both were awesome. The beef was super tender and flavorful, and the rice had a great texture -- not too soggy or dry. The scipy ramen was the star though. It had a nice kick of spice, and the noodles were spot-on -- chewy and satisfying. You can tell everything's made fresh. Only tiny downside: I kinda wish the ramen had a little more broth or sauce, but honestly, that's just personal preference. Everything else hit the spot. Definitely coming back -- perfect spot for a cozy dinner or a quick noodle fix!
We love Kajiken. I'm obsessed with their traditional ramens, they're so rich and delicious. Their spicy miso is nice and spicy, but I like getting their chili paste and kicking it up a notch. My fiancé loves their broth less noodles. They're creamy and unctuous. And their takoyaki is also amazing. You can't go wrong coming here! The food comes out quickly, it's super hot at fresh. The service is great. The vibes are modern and cool. It's just a great place to stop by!
Food: 5/5 abura soba is so delicious! The chewier texture of the noodles is exactly how I like them, and the sauce is very savory. There are a few toppings at the table to add to your bowl if you need. Gyoza was yummy as well. I will note that the edamame was pretty mediocre and somewhat soggy compared to what I prefer. Service: 5/5 our server was quick and very kind. No issues. Ambiance: soft music playing in the background. Dimmer lighting than the average restaurant. 2 single stall restrooms that were clean.
recently had lunch at this new ramen spot and really enjoyed it. They offer some unique brothless ramen options, which I was excited to try. I ordered the beef ramen served with sauce at the bottom and a raw egg on top. The bowl was beautifully presented, and once I mixed everything together, the hot noodles gently cooked the rare beef while the egg yolk added a rich, silky texture to the sauce. I was a little wary about the raw egg at first, but the staff let me know that their eggs are pasteurized, and I had no issues--just a delicious meal. The restaurant is new, clean, and the service is friendly and helpful. They also offer traditional broth-based ramen and a variety of appetizers that I'm looking forward to trying on my next visit.
This spot absolutely worth a visit! I've been twice the first time I got the pork ramen and it was very good. Second time though I opted for the sukiyaki and this was amazing! The fatty beef, the chili oil, all of the flavors were so good. The service is also always so friendly. Highly recommend! I'll absolutely be back.
I cannot recommend this place enough. As a lover of noodles and sometimes I don't want broth, this place is perfect for me. The roasted beef was so super tender, very creamy, and perfectly tangy from the vinegar. I personally would like to have it spicy but didn't order any extra toppings, but definitely a recommendation if you like your food spicy. The chicken curry was also delicious and had the typical Japanese curry flavors. I liked how the chicken wasn't breaded as well. The noodles have the perfect chewy texture as well. Service was superb. Our waitress came by multiple times asking how we were doing and filling our waters. Another waiter came by and gave us napkins unprompted and he wasn't even our server. Interior is super cozy and felt like a Japanese stall on the streets of Japan. read more

The interior is beautiful. I was really looking forward to try this place as the food looked so good in the photos. Unfortunately, the food was the worse part. We both ordered chicken dishes and could not eat a single strip of it because the chicken was all rubber. The dishes were very bland and lacked the savory flavor I was expecting. The only dish we finished was the dessert, which was excellent. If I was in the area I might try again, maybe try a a dish, but I'll give it some time. read more

Need to give this place a try! The sukiyaki is my favorite - the combo of sautéed onions and sliced beef is so good. I love the tonkotsu for the flavorful broth but the chashu pork is not my favorite - feels like they don't cook it well enough or it's too fatty. The age dashi tofu is okay but the gyoza is good! read more
We got the karaage and the fried octopus to share and I got the homura (added in corn), and everything was delicious! The fried chicken and octopus were fried perfectly. I really enjoyed the soba although it is pretty heavy, I recommend adding in some vinegar to cut through the heaviness. Will be back to try others on the menu! read more
Really nice decor and ambiance! Clean japandi vibes. Well lit (except the bench areas under the woven ceiling section). Our waitress was nice and accomodating, explained to my fam what the items and portion sizes were. Food was pretty good for a Hanover/MD burb spot. Plenty of options. I had their Tori Shoyu. Next time if we come back I'll try their Soba. Recommended! I'd come back just for their nice ambiance. read more

I did not know what to expect when Kajiken landed in my local strip shopping center. What I got was a fabulous restaurant to vastly improve the local food scene. I went with my friend for lunch and we both got the vegan aburasoba. The tofu paste is incredible. I could not stop eating the dish despite how full I was. It was so delicious, fresh, and well cooked. I loved the toppings on the table -especially the chili oil. The service was kind and efficient and the restaurant was comfortable and super clean. Don't miss dessert! The black sesame cake was to die for. I also finally broke down and ordered take out a week later. It was packaged incredibly well. The taste was perfect. The prices are also very good. This place is well worth the visit. I will be back -a lot. read more
Wow, wow, wow! Absolutely loved my experience at kajiken. Stopped in for lunch around 1pm on a Friday. There was plenty of seating available at the time. We got seated and were immediately approached by our waiter. We ordered the gyoza and the Spicy tonkotsu ramen. They offered Black Garlic oil for $1.00 extra, but unfortunately they've were out. The waiter explained they've been out for a few months. Despite not having the garlic oil the ramen was still DELICIOUS! Broth, noodles, pork belly, minced pork...all came together for the perfect bowl of ramen. I have found my go-to ramen spot!! read more

I experienced this place for the first time today, and it was nothing short of DELICIOUS! I ordered the sukiyaki with a poached egg, and a side of ichim. The egg and ichimi gave the noodles such a great flavor. The service, atmosphere and presentation of the restaurant was also great! I will be eating here again! read more
On 31 January 2026, I popped into the new Asian restaurant "Kajiken". I love the warm inviting decor and the fact that they greet the customers when they enter the restaurant and wish the customers salutations when they leave the restaurant. I enjoyed the gyoza appetizer (six dumplings for $8) and the chicken curry don over rice ($8)--delicious!!! read more
I've heard about this place before so I was excited to hear that it was coming to Hanover area! I got the vegan nikumiso, it was good and I enjoyed the bounce of the noodles! I also got the wakame soup on the side and that was kind of bland and I wasn't a fan. Wish there was chili oil or chili paste to add some spice but otherwise good experience overall and the staff was nice. I like the vibe of the restaurant too - clean & modern with japandi design. read more
We've ordered out from here 4-5 times and picked up. Finally had time to dine in today and Edward was our lovely server. He was attentive, refilled our waters, and gave us a pleasant dining experience. The interior is well-decorated, modern Japandi style with booths and a clean aesthetic. We had the chicken curry and the homura with the takoyaki appetizer. Food here is visually pretty but also delicious. Noodles are perfectly al dente and if you want to spice things up, there is a traditional spice and vinegar rack on the table. We will be back to try more! read more
I like to try new places so I was happy to see kajiken opening near me! Staff very attentive as they were new and trainees were being sure to refill my water and make sure all good with us! Tables spacious and ambiance nice-I liked the Japanese comic style art on the walls! We had kaki fry (deep fried oysters) which I enjoyed . Then we had the cucumber seaweed octopus salad which was refreshing-little tiny under seasoned but I enjoyed it! I had the chicken teriyaki noodle and hubby had the spicy tonkatsu ramen which were both tasty! Seasoned well and hit the spot ! It was probably not mind blowing best food I have had in my life but I was full and happy to have eaten there! read more
Very fast service. Fast food speed with the luxury of dining in. The servers were all fast and consistently kept our water glasses filled. We got seaweed salad , gyoza and sukiyaki. Everything 10/10 we did not need to go containers it was all gone. read more

no matter which brothless ramen choice you pick, the noodles were soft, thick and curly whirly to slurp. personally, I don't like too much sauce in my food (#texture), so if youre like me and get overstimmy with sauce, then I recommend requesting less sauce (or maybe even on the side) to your brothless ramen because the overall portion is FILL-to the-LING (filling). as they say it is a marathon not a sprint, and over time the sauce will compromise and soak up your noodles. *sukiyaki - the sliced beef had too much fat. I got a side of bokchoy (not under the add-on section in menu but is available) but they did give hella corn and nori seaweed. the soft boiled egg was cold. dish was good enough. *roast beef - has yogurt in it. it's good but would only recommend if you like to eat creamy dairy udon because it gave similar vibes to that. *chicken curry - chicken skin was soggy. chicken had some fat to it (if ur into that). taste overall was good though. note that they have the following complimentary toppings on the table -- so you can add more taste: - sesame chili oil (there's no actual chili in this bt-dubs) - rice vinegar - dry garlic crunchy topping - sesame seeds - white pepper seasoning read more

Kajiken is a new ramen place that opened in Hanover with a clean interior and decent amount of seating inside. The workers were welcoming, friendly and game great suggestions. I got the roasted beef and tonkotsu ramen. The broth for the tonkotsu was very rich while the roasted beef had an egg yolk + multiple sauces that you mix together. The takoyaki came out hot and had a crispy interior with a soft, chewy interior. There was a sauce rack on the side and I recommend putting some into your ramen! Definitely coming back! read more

First time eating here and we will definitely be returning. The staff is so attentive and nice. It's so family friendly as they have small plastic cups and utensils for the kids. The Food was so good you can tell the ramen noddles are homemade. And they definitely stuff the soup with noddles. read more

Tried a new spot today for dinner and it was not good! I got the Teriyaki Chicken Tori and the chicken was so fatty and grisly that I literally couldn't even eat it! Absolutely disgusting! The noodles and the gyoza were ok but nothing to write home about. My husband got the Homura and he enjoyed his. Never again for me. Lesson learned! I should have gotten the old bay shrimp one that I was initially looking at. I wouldn't even give this putrid chicken to a dog! Kajiken near Arundel Mills. read more

No vegetarian ramen options, or ramen with a lot of veggies. J had to pay $1.50 for three small, soy sauce dipping bowl of bok choy, despite not wanting the pork. Overpriced and the bowls are small too. A club soda only came in large was $4.00. Staff is nice, prices are ridiculous. Food taste is fine. read more
