Juana took care of me for my bridal appointment, and she was absolutely wonderful! She was friendly, kind, and very attentive to the styles that I liked. She was also very nice to my mom and my aunt, who came with me to find my wedding dress. Juana let me try on 5 dresses, and she let me try on the two that I really liked twice. She put various veils and headbands on me to help give me an idea of accessories that I would like. She gave me advice on shoes and undergarments for my dress. She had me walk around in the dresses and look at them at different angles and under different lighting to really find the right dress. I ended up saying "Yes" to my dress, and I can easily say that I did because Juana was super-helpful and lovely to me and my family! Overall, it was a great experience! read more

Ok so I bought my dress over the weekend (7/27/19) to be exact and I had THE BEST experience w/ Juana!!! SO here are the basics, if you are going to ANY David's bridal boutique, you should most definitely make an appointment. Yes, it's only 90min, but it will help make your experience run smoother!!! Also, to help your stylist, I would suggest choosing your favorites on their site so that they can have them ready for you to look at. My experience at this location was everything and more and honestly felt just like the movies!!!! (just w/o the Champagne....deff should've brought some though) After reading the review of this location prior to going, I basically spoke Juana's name into existence because I was SOOOOOO hoping that I'd get her as my stylist and I DID!!! AND SHE WAS THE BEST!!!!!!!!! (Fun fact: you CAN request her! You can request any stylist that you want.) Juana had all of my favorites that I made on the site ready on one rack with some suggestions from her as well. I looked through those, picked my favorites, and on to another rack I went and then another and another until I there was none left. From then on, it was time to try on dresses. Now, did I try on every single dress that I said that I liked? No, but what I did realize after the day was done, was that from the ones that I did say that I liked, she took that info and based her selection off of the ones that I chose, because honestly...90 mins would not have been enough time to really try on every single dress that I liked. And the dress that was the winner....wasn't even one of the "favorites" that I picked on the site and wasn't one that I was too crazy about on the rack either, but I WAS intrigued. So technically after everything...Juana ultimately picked my dress and IT IS BEAUTIFUL!!!!!!!!!! Something that I would have never picked out on my own and it fit like a GLOVE!!!!!!! It was PERFECT and she knew from the very beginning that was the one before I even tried anything on. So more about Juana....She is incredibly nice, super-efficient, a little fast (but it makes sense when you think of it), understanding, approachable, gave great advice and didn't give me any negative or pushy vibes. She knows what she is doing and will not waste your time. Also...fun fact about the dress that I chose. On their website, it is shown as a plus size dress and I am sooooo not plus size so I completely overlooked it on the site and that's why I never took a second look. So if you aren't plus size and you are looking through the site to pick your favorites, keep your mind open!!!! All of their dresses come in so many different sizes and can be tailored to your liking. Like, you can take the sleeves off, open up the back, cover up the cleavage, or you can open it up some more if you want....they will try their best to make it happen so please keep that in mind. read more

To say my experience here over the past few months has been atrocious is an understatement. I pray that future brides, bridal parties, and anyone else who dares to step foot into this store finds this review helpful. I would give it negative stars if I could. I have been in multiple weddings so I am not new to the bridal gown / bridesmaids' experience. First, let's talk about the way the bride was treated. The staff, minus Celest and Joclyn (who were nothing but courteous and helpful), is beyond rude. They made comments about the bride's mother not being present during one dress fitting (which is absolutely out of line) and did not listen to anything the bride said based on the type of dresses she wanted to try on. When she was then deciding between two dresses they LIED TO HER and told her that there were only 2 more of one of the dress available and that no more were being made by the designer which means she would have to buy it on the spot or possibly lose it. We later found out that "Oh no, there are many in stock" so said a coworker after the dress was ready to be picked up and we found a huge hole in it. They suggested them just fixing it but it was possible to get another one since there were many left. The second time she went to pick up the "discontinued" dress, they did not provide us with a private dressing room space for her to try it on before taking it home. We were put with another large group of people which ended up stepping all over her brand new, beautiful, and now dirty dress. The bride proceeded to order a vail from them as well. They first tried to convince her to take the floor model yet she protested and demanded a new one. She has gone back THREE times to get the vail because each time there was a problem with it- a hole, missing rhinestones, pieces glued together, etc. She still doesn't have her vail- it's been 3 months. The bridesmaids experience for trying on dresses wasn't terrible- a typical series of dresses before ordering the one the bride chose. When they arrived at the store to be picked up, I watched as a worker DRAGGED them across the floor, thus getting these light pink dresses dirty BEFORE even leaving the store! They also did not steam the dress or provide assistance with checking the sizes of the dresses prior to leaving. They just wanted your signature and for you to go. When we asked to try them on to check sizes, they rolled their eyes, huffed, and made it seem like we were causing a huge complication for them. The store was empty. There were maybe, 3 other people there in total. I also had the misfortune of purchasing a pair of shoes online from David's Bridal. It turns out that if you want to return what you bought, you cannot do it in stores, and have to pay to ship it back AS WELL AS not get refunded for the originally shipping charge. So I ended up spending approx. $20 just to try on a pair of shoes. I will NEVER EVER shop here again nor will I let any girl I know (family or friend) do so in the future. I do not care if their dresses are beautiful and significantly cheaper than a bridal boutique. I much rather pay for an overpriced dress than to ever go through this type of hell ever again. The bride and her party / guests deserve to be listened to, treated well, and not have their expensive dressed be dragged and ruined by unhappy, nasty workers. read more

I thought it was just me, but after 3 visits I know this store is always dirty. Also, why bother with appointments if I have to sit around and wait every single time I'm here? read more

My review is strictly about alteration since salesperson didn't really help picking out ny gown. My gown had open back and I wanted to cover it up a little since the wedding is at church. My first alteration lady was korean, sorry dont know her name but she helped decide how to do the back and I was really happy with it. However, once I saw the finished gown after 4 weeks, I was horrified. It looked nothing like what she explained shell do. It looked like she slapped a patch of lace onto the back to just cover up the skin. Thats not what we talked about. When I went there for second fitting, Francesca helped me. I told her I want everything removed. Francesca showed how she would do the back and it was perfect. She promised me she'll do exactly like we discussed by next day! And today I went to pick it up and I fell in love with my dress again! Francesca didAMAZING job altering the back of the gown. It looks so graceful!!!!! Francesca saved my gown!!! Thank you so much Francesca! read more

Let me start by saying how happy I am that I did not get my bridal dress here because of the sheer chaos and unprofessionalism of the people who work here. I have two separate occasions to share. We came in about a month ago on a Thursday night with an appointment for bridesmaid dresses and it was a total nightmare. Right off the bat the service was lacking. The consultant we were assigned was nowhere to be found at any point since she told us that she had another appointment upstairs in the bridal salon. Its a good thing that we pretty much knew exactly which dress we wanted because we had no help. We then spent a little time looking at the mother of the bride dresses- didn't find anything we loved. We approached the front desk area to place the orders for the girls dresses and were received with total chaos. The girl at the desk was so confused at one point she brought over a consultant to take us to look for dresses. Then when we told her that we already picked the dress and just need to place the orders she spent 15 minutes staring at the computer since our consultant didn't leave any of the information for the dress we picked out. Instead of calling our consultant over we had to literally go track down the dress and information ourselves. The employee then whips out a tape measure to take the girls measurements at the front desk in the front of the store and we were literally standing halfway out the door. So now its winter time, and my maid of honor is 7 months pregnant, and the employee wants to measure everyone. The girls were upset, I was upset, my mother was mad and our consultant was nowhere in sight. If she had taken the time with us earlier she could have measured everyone in the privacy of the dressing room. On top of the lousy service and utter confusion at the front desk, the overall experience was just so unprofessional. A few days ago I called the store to see if they had a pair of shoes in stock that I had seen on the David's Bridal website. I called the store and was put on hold for 3-4 minutes before someone picked up and hung up on me. I called back, was placed on hold again for 9 minutes before I got aggravated and hung up. I called back a third time and the phone just rang for 3 minutes, Someone finally picks up the phone and I tell her what I am looking for. She comes back a few minutes later and says they have the shoe, but only in a size 7 ( I needed an 8 1/2). At this point I had already arrived at the store myself. I walk inside and three girls are standing at the front desk doing nothing. As to why I was on hold so long- I guess I will never know. Sheer laziness probably. I go upstairs to look at the shoes, and behold they have them in every size - including the size that the girl on the phone said they didn't have. I ended up not getting the shoes because they were too uncomfortable. Overall I'm just so disappointed in how this store is run. It seems that no one cares about their job or helping customers. Its unfortunate that there aren't other stores comparable to David's Bridal because maybe then they would try a little harder to service customers. read more

This was an unpleasant shopping experience that makes me have a strong distaste for the bridal industry. I would strongly recommend against going to or buying anything from this David's Bridal. I experienced: a) A long wait in which I was left to look at a book, even though I had already selected more than twenty gowns of interest using the website b) A chaotic shopping experience- the store was loud and there were people everywhere c) A consultant who did not listen to me- she kept trying to put me in a poofy dress with a veil, neither of which I wanted d) Being pressured by a manager e) Staff who will say anything, including fabricate the truth, to get you to put down a deposit An additional word of warning- do not believe the managers if they say the deposit is refundable. I tried on a dress that was ok, but my mom wasn't with me. The manager GUARANTEED that my deposit would be returned to me if my mom did not like the dress. My mom and I went together to see the dress and she told me I looked fat in it, so naturally I called and cancelled the dress. That was a month ago. I've called four times and written a request on their website. I have yet to have anyone get back to me and I have still not received a refund. I regret the time I spent here and will never return. read more

I would not go to David's Bridal to find any kind of dress. When you walk in the door you are greeted by three people and that's all they do. It's like you are doing them a favor by walking through the doors. After looking through the dresses and helping ourselves to veils and shoes, my sister, the bride, was happy with her selections. We went on Saturday to pick up the dress, shoes and veil. We were practically shooed back out the door. No one pointed her in the directon of the filtting room to try it on nor did they suggest steaming the veil for her. We walked to the dressing room and on one came to help after I said to the three ladies at the door where we were headed. It seems to me, if I were the store manager I would convey to my staff the importance of customer service. This is the happiest event in one's life, why not treat your customers accordingly? I have been in hospitatlity for 25+ years and would never treat a guest this way. I will never go back to this store or recommend anyone else spend their money there. read more

I purchased my dress at DB in Florida and brought it in to Paramus for alterations. I can't speak to the quality of the alterations, since I left before agreeing to any work. I waited 20 minutes past my appointment time to be taken in and I had made the appointment weeks in advance. I had decided based on the smell in the store and the amount of people in the alterations room to not wait any longer. When I told them I was leaving, they immediately ushered me into a dressing room and had me put the dress on. There was no place to stand as there were 2 other brides in the tiny room and a group of bridesmaids being fit with 2 only seamstresses on hand. I feel really badly for these overworked women. Before the very nice seamstress started hurriedly pinning my dress, which overall fits really well to start with, I asked her how much she thought the alterations would come to. She quoted me a price of $120 for the hem, $100 for the simple bustle and $40 for additional cups added into the dress. This was quoted as the "at least" price. I may be naive when it comes to this stuff, but to spend almost $300 before taxes on a hem, a bustle and to tack a couple of foam cups in seems a little high. Again, I can't review their work but they seemed proficient based on the dresses I saw being tried on. If you have money and time to burn, I guess this place is fine. It wasn't for me. read more

Pros: My sales person was great. She listened to what I had in mind and pulled the best matches right off the bat. I am a size 18, which can very easily make shopping for a wedding dress both difficult and depressing; my trip was neither. There were plenty of options for my size, which was awesome. My sales person was friendly, exceptionally helpfully with dressing and undressing, and gave great feedback. HUGE CON: All I can guess is that DB pays their sales team peanuts unless a sale is made. We were literally pestered to make a sale "today". This was my first time trying on wedding dresses. I'm not going to try on 4 dresses and buy that day because I'm not an idiot. I found a dress I liked, but it wasn't my dream dress. However, I was pressured that if I didn't buy it today it could be gone when I want it or that the wait time after ordering could be substantial. (my wedding isn't until next June). When my mother and I left the store the ONLY thing we were talking about was the pressure to buy; not the dresses. This is not how it should be. We couldn't have been more clear that we would not be buying today, but had to restate it no less than 10 times, and I'm not exaggerating. My mom said it totally ruined the experience for her, which makes me sad. I understand how commission works, but your clients should be able to take the time they need to find the dress that is truly perfect for them. If your sales team feels like each time they let a client walk out the door without buying is time wasted, this is what's going to happen. read more

I hardly ever write a review nor write negative things but oh man.... this place is awful. It's not the dresses that make this place awful.. It's the people that work here. I don't remember who my attendant was because no one introduces themselves. They just stare at you (I've noticed some girls looking up and down on their customers) without a smile or asking if you need help or not. The only name that I remember is Stephanie or whatever it is who just left the dress in the dressing room without an instruction or saying anything to you.... (Did i mention that she didn't say a word? If you are miserable at work, go somewhere else) oh man.. The list goes on and on. They don't make you feel special nor like a bride. Brides, don't ever go here because you deserve so much better!! read more

Very unhappy with my experience at this store. I visited the NYC location and had a good experience. The sales person assisting me really seemed to know what she was doing. I fell in love with the first dress I tried on, but decided to wait a week and purchase at the Paramus location closer to my home. At my first appt at Paramus, I was ready to purchase the dress. The sales person assigned to me was OK, but really just seemed interested in making a sale. I purchased dress, veil, and shoes. I took home the shoes and she told me the veil would be shipped to my home, and they would call me in a few weeks about the dress. Fast forward a few weeks, 10 PM at night, my fiancé asks me "What's this big box sitting outside in the rain?" MY WEDDING DRESS WAS SHIPPED TO MY HOUSE (I was not informed of this) AND LEFT TO SIT ALL DAY IN THE RAIN. Wouldn't you require a signature upon delivery for such an expensive item? I made an online complaint and received no response from David's Bridal. The dress seemed ok, so I let it go. Fast Forward-- I had bought a bustier from David's Bridal online. It didn't fit and Paramus refused to return or exchange the item because it was an online purchase. I also purchased 2 slips from the Paramus store in case I needed a bigger size. I ended up not needing it, and thought no problem -- I bought this at Paramus they should accept the return. NOPE- The store refused to accept my return and only allowed exchange for store items. Ended up buying a silly T-shirt and bag that I did not want/ need. Also, when you show up for an alterations appointment, the front desk will direct you to a set of chairs outside a curtained area. You might think (like me) that you should sit and wait for someone to greet you for your appointment. No, you must enter the curtained off area while other brides are getting fitted and announce your arrival a few times before anyone will come to help you. However, I was happy with the ladies in alterations as they seemed to know what they are doing and are very hard working/ talented. It almost looks like a sweat shop in the back where they are working!!! read more

Absolutely terrible experience from start to finish. Nasty customer service. Nasty alterations service. Would never recommend this place to our worst enemy, nobody deserves the low service this place provides. They hawk on you with dresses attempting to get their commission, with no respect for your personal wishes. They'll attempt to overcharge you I a dress which may be cheaper by hundreds from their own website, as they did to us. They'll scam you and force you to add unnecessary accessories and then refuse to allow you a return. The only way you'd get decent service here is if you cause a huge fuss and demand the managers, who are of no help. read more

I chose David's Bridal because I have bridesmaids living in three different states, and it was the only place I knew that I'd be able to make sure everyone would be able to get the dress I ended up choosing. I went in to look at wedding gowns on a Saturday. Perhaps not the smartest choice, as they were super busy and I ended up having to wait beyond the time that my appointment was supposed to start. However, I only ended up waiting about 15 minutes, so it wasn't a big deal. And honestly, that was the only "negative" I can describe about this experience (and the only reason I gave 4 instead of 5 stars)! While I was waiting, though, I spoke with Ana, the woman who greeted me at the door. She was so sweet - she was really interested to hear how my fiancee proposed, and even got teary-eyed when I told the story! She made me feel so welcome, and comfortable! My consultant was Nuska. She was very warm and friendly, and seemed absolutely certain that I was going to find the dress of my dreams that day (even though my wedding's not until 2012). I said I wasn't so sure. She pulled a dress I'd been eyeballing in their catalog and on the website, although she was almost certain that I wouldn't like it on me (turns out she was right - I didn't even need to try it on; seeing it on the hanger was enough for me to realize it wasn't the right one). She pulled another one that was similar (it was okay), and then a third one that was completely different. She knew that my dress was going to be one of these. I only ended up trying on one dress, the one that was completely different from what I was envisioning, and I knew the moment I saw myself in the mirror that it was the dress I'd been hoping for since I was a little girl. Nuska had pegged it on the first try! She said that when she saw me, she could tell what would look good on me, and what kind of style I'd likely be going for. I can't believe how right she was!! (And, on a side note, the dress was not expensive, like you'd expect from someone who works on commission!) The whole process was done and over so fast, but I never felt rushed, and I never felt pressured. In fact, I felt as though Nuska (and many of the other assistants in the store) were as excited about my wedding and my selecting my gown as I was - I got lots of hugs, smiles, and high-fives from the staff (especially Zoe!), and even though the store was crazy busy, I felt like I was their only customer! Even with the wait at the beginning, I don't think I could have had a better experience! I'm really not the kind of girl who needs to be the center of attention, but I have to admit that that's exactly how they made me feel, and I really appreciated and enjoyed it! I can't speak highly enough about the staff at David's Bridal in Paramus, and I'd recommend them to anyone looking for a great experience shopping for their bridal gown!! read more

I purchased a beautiful dress in May of 2012. The sales person, whose name I think is Leticia told me that the alterations would be free. I wanted to have straps made on the dress, it is a halter, the alterations manager said that I could have the straps made. I made my fitting appointment today, I was not told that I was supposed to bring my shoes, and lingerie. I drive from Queens New York into New Jersey, to go in for my alterations appointment, the manager says my appointment was not even written down. She asked if I brought my shoes and lingerie, I wasn't told to bring those things so I didn't bring them. I called the Paramus NJ store and told the manager about the alterations appointment that I was not told to bring my shoes and lingerie. She didn't apologize or make the situation any better. I said that my salesperson said I could have free alterations. She said that alterations are not free. I was told FALSE information the manager did not make the situation any better. You need to tell your sales people not to lie. The Paramus, NJ manager had absolutely no manners, and she did not make ANY attempt to make my situation better. What kind of business is the David's Bridal in Paramus NJ? I have spent a small amount of money in other businesses and I get excellent customer service even if I have a complaint, the situation is rectified. The Paramus NJ David's Bridal Store just said nice things while I was thinking of buying the dress. Now that they have my money, they don't care about the promises they made during sales transaction, that the alterations were free. The Paramus NJ store is the WORST business I have ever been to. It 's a shame that store turned purchasing a wedding dress which is supposed to be a smooth, positive experience to a totally negative, infuriating one. read more

No one ever picks up the phone. Tried 4 times over the course of the day and let it ring the 4th time for 3 minutes. DO NOT GO HERE. I went to David's Bridal with my niece, who was visiting from overseas. At the entrance, I spoke with Cynthia who said we had to "register". When she asked for our contact information, I told her that my niece was just here for a few days and I did not want to receive promotional flyers, catalogues, letters, etc sent to my home. I reluctantly gave my information after her ASSURANCE AND HER WORD that my name and info would not be distributed and that I would not be placed on the mailing list. Within 2 business days I started being inundated with mail about weddings. I went back to have this corrected, but needless to say, it was not. The whole David's Bridal left me with a bad taste in my mouth. The staff lied, was harried and only partially attentive, just an unpleasant experience. read more

What a terrible first experience. While looking through different dresses my consultant disappeared. While she was gone I was aggressively approached by Sarah, another consultant I suppose, being told I cant look through those dress without supervision. I was not informed of such guidelines or any for that matter. So I excused myself to head to a dressing room My consultant, Thia, left to another client while I was in the changing room with my maid of honor. When I step out to asked if she was still helping with our appointment, Her responds was, ugh we are very busy and then walked off. I had an appointment scheduled. I had also had a few dresses set aside which were taken away because our consultant left our appointment before even putting me into 1 dress. It's a shame because there were a few dresses that caught my eye but I will certainly not be returning to this Paramus location. Poor management and rude consultants. As Gere responded, There was no information regarding consultants within the confirmation email. I hate to argue with you. That said, it would have been professional of Thea to let me know she was tending to another guest instead of leaving me standing in a dressing room in my under garments waiting for a dress. I understand it was a busy evening but there was just a lack of respect shown from the staff toward my party. There was nothing special about this experience. read more

I am the MOH in my sisters wedding 11 days from now. My experience at you Paramus location has left the the bride extremely upset and myself livid and WITHOUT A DRESS! I ordered my dress while I was pregnant and the girl helping me advised me to get a size 6 based on the fit at 8 months pregnant. I picked it up and tried it on 2 weeks after the baby came and it was never going to fit. I called and they told me to come in and pick a different dress at the same or higher price. I ordered a new dress size 12. The person helping me told me it would be there no later than October 5th but no worries, I could pay $25 extra to have them alter it in store with such a short time frame before the wedding. Not long after ordering, they called to tell me the dress was in and to pick it up. They then called me back to tell me the dress was damaged upon inspection and that they would order me a new one. I called on Monday 10/3 to check on the status and the woman I spoke to told me there was no dress on order. Another woman called me on 10/4, and said that there was a dress there waiting for pick up and it was marked as I received a call (I did not). I don't know if the dress was there for a while, but no one called me. I went to pick up my dress today and tried it on. It was too big but I expected that and planned on getting it altered as discussed when ordering. After inquiring with the sales person, she said someone from alterations would be right over. While I was waiting, she helped me pick out a $60 waist cincher that I was going to purchase. 5 minutes later the sales person asked if I could get someone else to alter my dress because they couldn't do it. We went up front to speak to the manager (who should have been the one to have the conversation about not being able to alter the dress with me, not an associate), and she was less than accomodating not offering any solutions. She flat out told me "I don't know what to tell you but we are not altering that dress". I then asked for a refund and she said she needed corporate approval. I asked to speak to a District manager or Area Director and she said there were none. I am doubtful that she is the be all tell all in that store. Not once did she smile, apologize for the inconvenience, take accountability as the representative of the employee who gave misinformation, or provide an alternate solution. I would have been happy if she offered to call a different location and asked them to accommodate me. I had no problem spending money on a $170 dress, $60 corset, and alterations. I also intended on purchasing accessories for the bride's bachelorette and honeymoon. I would like to speak to someone regarding my experience. Thank you read more

We were so excited to begin our shopping experience at David's Bridal, but were greeted by a rude saleswoman who adamantly insisted that the 10 AM appointment we scheduled in advance by phone was a 9 AM scheduled online and that we had missed it. Her inflexibility, lack of professionalism and sour attitude insured that we would not be returning or rescheduling. Don't waste your time at this store that very clearly cares more about profit than customers. read more

**UPDATE: Dear Geri, I understand the stores "sales policy" however a) I was exchanging and told by several different people that I could exchange and that it had been done before and b) the discretion of the store upon my conversation was that they COULD exchange it. If the issue was the actual store location, then I should have been advised of that before I made the trip. I don't know about you, but my time is valuable and I can only go with the information I'm given. Additionally, my point to this review is the lack of customer service that I have received, especially from the Paramus store. To minimize MY experience as a "lack of understanding the sales policy" is extremely insensitive and offensive. I've been buying dresses from DB for several years - however, as a bride, a dress issue shouldn't have to cause me tons of stress and I should definitely NOT be receiving pushback from the store employees. Thank you for responding at least. ** I previously yelped the Totowa DB location about the mixed experiences I had received while there, however, I must say that THIS location is by far the WORST location I've ever been to from this store chain. And let me tell you, I thought Totowa SUCKED. First, every time I go there there is one girl that no matter what I ask for is never able to assist or comes with a ready attitude - she must have rich girl complex and be dirt poor because she acts like people owe her something, even when you are asking a question pertaining to her job. Unfortunately I don't have her name but I wish I did, all I know is she's a streaky bottle blonde latina girl. In any case, I have refused to go there although everyone told me that they have had great experiences at that store. Against my better judgement, I was forced to go there as a favor to one of my bridesmaids because she lives in NY and works in Paramus - so this location is closer to her. In any case, we had previously purchased a dress for her for my upcoming wedding and due to some unexpected issues with another bridesmaid dropping out, I decided to change her dress color to that of the maid and matron of honor. I contacted Totowa and spoke to Jackie, explaining the issue and she stated I could exchange the dress out for the other color. Great! So I decided to go to the Paramus store the next day. I drove from work 90 minutes away, to go to this store, in rush hour traffic, no less. As soon as I walked in and was greeted, they told me flat out that the dress was 'final sale' and that they couldnt help me. After I explained that I spoke to someone in the Totowa store, they said that I would have to go the totowa location to exchange because I "purchased it from that location". I didnt realize that this DB location was special and they would only take exchanges from their location. After a little more back and forth in terms of the information I was given, and the pushback I was receiving (and I was pretty nice, considering how pissed off I was); I went outside, after they ignored me and greeted the customer behind me, and I contacted the Totowa store...I was questioned there as well until I finally told the young lady who picked up, listen, I want to speak to a manager because I need to get this done...and she got me to Celeni. Let me tell you, Celeni couldnt even believe that they were giving me a hard time, and asked me if I wanted to go to the totowa DB. At that point, i was looking at another 90 minute drive, which I did NOT want to do. She even called the store and they gave her push back, because they 'didnt have that dress in the store' - no kidding! I wanted to ORDER it! Long story short, she finally escalated to the manager of the store, Jennifer. Jennifer agreed to do the exchange but came downstairs with the biggest attitude that I had to bite my tongue. She did the exchange - took 5 minutes! Now they call me and tell me that the dress is there and that I NEED to pick up on Friday, no exceptions. This store is absolutely horrible. I cant wait to be done with buying for my wedding...I've spent over $3K at DB and they are despicable. HORRIBLE, HORRIBLE, HORRIBLE, HORRIBLE! Terrible service and even worse employees!! Will NEVER come back to this store again - even if I have to go out of my WAY to go to another location or better yet, entirely different bridal STORE! read more

This was my first wedding dress experience, and I am so glad I didn't waste my time going anywhere else. I was a bit nervous walking in, as I had mixed ideas of what I wanted. First off, the consultant who welcomed me had my wish list from the site printed out and ready to give to the consultant who would be working with me. I came in with a binder full of dresses and ideas, so that probably made her job a little easier. I absolutely recommend doing your homework before you get there so you can better utilize the 90 minute appointment. Marlene pulled 3 dresses for me, one of which I had requested, and two others that resembled some of the inspiration dresses I had shown her. She was very clear in saying that if I hated a dress to let her know right away and if I wanted to hold something to speak up. This made the appointment run extremely smooth, as she set the tone early on and helped me be decisive. While I fell In love with the second dress I tried on (and ended up buying it), she encouraged me to try everything I came in hoping to put on Marlene could have made it a quick sale and told me to stop, but she was simply good at her job. I should say that while I am very organized and know what I like, I was open to trying on different things, and you really have to be. Marlene made entire experience easy and exciting. I was no longer nervous about making a big decision; she made me understand that, much like when you get married, when you know, you know. I will absolutely be bringing my bridesmaids there and having the guys go to Men's Warehouse for their suits. I was given discounts off my bridesmaids dresses and coupons for percentages off for the guys. Overall, A+ experience. read more

I had an excellent experience with my bridal party picking out bridesmaid dresses at David's Bridal in Paramus! Our attendant Joslyn was excellent! I walked in a couple of days before my appointment and she helped me pick out some dresses that look great on all body types, which I have in my bridal party. My appointment was on a Saturday and it was a little busy, but Joslyn made sure we had every dress and size we needed from the ones we picked out and the girls chose a dress and had them purchased within an hour! Joslyn even made some room for me to try on some wedding gowns at my bridal party request when I did not have an appointment. Our attendant Joslyn and the store manager were very personable and overall my ladies and I had a great experience. read more

Do not go here if your planning a wedding and plan on taking your bridemaids to choose dresses . One associate was extremely helpful and then she left to change shifts and Jen replaced her which was the worse thing that could've happened to us . She's lazy and not helpful at all . she didn't even care about what we wanted . Don't work somewhere if you don't like dealing with people . Your job is to help us and make our wedding plans easier .. sorry but Jen either has to get a new job or appreciate were she is now ... Unfortunately she ruined it for all of us and we don't plan on going to any Davids bridals ever again !!!!! read more

Bridesmaids beware! Both my sister and I are in two different wedding parties right now and were asked to purchase the selected dress from David's bridal (two separate styles). Since the Paramus location is the closest for both of us we went on two separate occasions to try on our dress and order it. We each tried on two sizes that were close to our normal everyday size. We were both instructed to get a size larger as they run small, which is normal for formal dresses. For my sister, she decided to order the smaller out of the two sizes that fit. I was there when she tried it on. It fit, but honestly could use a little more wiggle room. In the time it took for it to be shipped, she happened to lose 15 lbs, so she was excited to try it on again and see her progress. To both of our surprise, the dress was nowhere near zippering! Fortunately she had time to swap the dress and reorder the next size up in time for the wedding. The saleswoman told her that the samples were probably stretched out from other girls trying them on. So when it came to my turn trying on my selected style and placing my order, I was extra careful and ordered the exact size that wasn't tight in any way. AGAIN, the dress came in MUCH tighter than what I had tried on.. And this was shipped within 2 weeks. I didn't gain a pound during this time. So my complaint is that sample sizes are not true to size at all for a variety of dresses in store which is very frustrating. Why bother try them on? This can lead to big problems if the dress is rush ordered for a wedding to begin with. I am engaged myself and while this store offers a great selection, I am hesitant on choosing one of their dresses for my girls. I may just ask around about experiences with other locations because I will not go to Paramus again. read more

This is a great store. Very helpful and attentive staff and stocked well for the most part. An employee, Samantha helped me find a dress a few days ago. She was very kind, patient, and attentive to my needs and style. It is important to have someone work with you that makes the time enjoyable for the customer and ensures that the experience is a positive one. Thanks David's Bridal and Samantha. read more

If I could give this place 0 stars I would. What a dump!!! I came here with one of my friends so she could look at bridesmaids dresses and we had the worst experience possible. First of all, our attendant melissa did no attending what so ever. She seemed so unsure whenever we asked a question. When we were trying on dresses, she was also no where to be found. She was too busy talking to other attendants and paying no attention to my friend at all. The dressing rooms are grotesque and dirty and the doors don't lock. All of the dresses on the rack either have holes in them or broken or torn in some way. Why would someone want to come in and try on dresses that are completely destroyed??? Melissa kept on telling us that the dresses my friend was trying on came in every size and color, we made sure that they had a size 0 and in the color wine. When we went to go pay, she goes "whoops problem, we don't have the dress in your size or color" LITERALLY WTF!!! We were there for an hour and a half and this never came up in conversation. She knew nothing and seemed dumb as bricks. Stay far far away from this place. read more

Another day another wedding ( rolls eyes)! Ever have that feeling that everyone is getting married but you? I digress...came to my favorite David's Bridal (Paramus) to get a dress for a wedding Im going to. Love this place!! Always someone to greet you and point you in the right direction, Assisted when needed without that "are you stealing" hovering that other dress places do. Always my come to place when looking for a special occasion dress, or (yet another) bridesmaids dress. Think I found my wedding dress, gorgeous dresses on the mannequins on the first floor....now off to find a husband read more

Got to the store today with one hour to shop for a specific color and Donna was AH-MAZING!!!!! Donna was so helpful, so accommodating, so wonderful! The whole store is great - the staff is amazingly helpful and knowledgeable! read more

Thea was amazing! She was so patient and found me the perfect dress. Great experience

First off, when the "online only" dress was changed by my bride - they made a big stink about it being a "final sale"...how is something a final sale if it was never actually seen or tried on?? Wake up DB!! I had to waste 3 hours on phone calls to the managers at corporate to have it sorted out (they were good). Really horrible service for a Davids Bridal. I have been to another store and this was not the case. There was no warm or friendly greeting. The one lady who was nice, had her commision stolen by another girl - even after I gave the name of that associate over the phone (while placing the order). If I had a choice, I wouldn't support an establishment that does not seem to care about their customers or employees. The number they had in my system kept getting messed up (4x). When I told them I would pick up in store, they ended up shipping the dress (they only give a few days to pick up after the call) - which I NEVER got a call for! They didnt ship it to my address (which I had given them), nope, they shipped it to the bride in D.C. (she had to waste her money and ship it to me)! I think that when you are a bride/bridesmaid, there is a lot of stress thats just part of the process. I would steer clear of this store - it will just add undue stress!! Note: online help to sort this out (and for others who ordered the dress online) was great! read more

This was my first bridal shop experience. I will say that I am glad I went simply for the learning experience. I went into the appointment with a vague sense of what kind of dress I was looking for and left with completely altered expectations. The styles that I liked when I browsed online looked and felt very different when worn. So that was helpful to discover. More specifically about my David's Bridal experience: my bridal consultant did an okay job. One thing that slightly bothered me was that I had said multiple times that I did not want to wear a veil at the wedding, yet she placed multiple veils on me. This was understandable the first few times (just so I could get a sense of how different veils looked), but she did this all throughout the appointment. Most importantly, perhaps, I was disappointed in the way I was pressured to seal the deal and buy a dress toward the end of the appointment. I had explained to my bridal consultant that this was my first wedding dress appointment, and I did not feel comfortable making an on-the-spot decision, but I was made to feel as if my indecision that day could have dire consequences. Lastly, I did not realize this until I visited a higher-end bridal boutique, but of all the dresses I tried on at David's Bridal, I liked maybe 15%. This gave me a false sense of urgency (which exacerbated the feelings of being pressured to buy the dress I kind of liked) because I felt like it was rare to happen upon a good dress. When I visited a higher-end boutique, I tried on only their most affordable dresses, yet I liked nearly 90% of what I tried on. I would probably suggest that unless you absolutely love a dress, maybe consider delaying making a decision until you at least visit another boutique. All that being said, David's Bridal is nice in that that they actually carry affordable dresses. If you're on a budget, and you're averse to shopping online and/or buying used, it may be your best bet. It's a good first bridal shop experience to have before checking out higher-end bridal boutiques. My experience taught me what kind of dresses I actually liked on my body. This, in turn, makes me more confident about what I like and what looks good, so at this point, buying online has actually become a more viable option. read more

Didn't end up buying my dress here but the space is beautiful and my attendant Maureen was great!

The staff here are amazing. I went in on a Saturday afternoon in hopes to find my dream dress. I was hesitant to go there because of all the reviews but my consultant, Sana, made my whole experience amazing. She listened to what I needed and bought what she had. She's very friendly and sweet and actually cares about you instead of just making another sale. Sana interacted well with me and my family. She made me try on different dresses(other than the style I wanted) just to be sure of my decisions. After 45 minutes I finally found my dress!!! If it wasn't for her I probably would've went crazy. Overall it was a great experience. I will definitely recommend going to consultant Sana. read more

This has got to be the worst Davids Bridal ever! The ppl are fairly nice, but it runs very poorly. I called @11:15am asking if I had to make an appt to try on just one dress. She said no and that I could come in any time. I told her i'd be there in 15min. She said no problem. I arrived in 10min and another woman said I had to make an appt for 1pm that day. I came back @12:45pm. It is 1:21pm now and I am still waiting. Apparently the consultant who is supposed to meet with me is not even here yet!!! I am so mad!!! (8/23/2011) read more

Let me start by saying I work in High end retail and I know the business very well. This place is unprofessional and is selective on who they treat with respect and good customer service. I came here excited to get my first wedding dress arriving at 11 am when they open. When I get there we were turned away at the door because we didn't have an appointment. We begged and ask please to see someone because we came from Manhattan. She said come back at 2pm. We come back 3 hours later and was paired up with an associate who was our race. I say that to say when I get upstairs every associate is paired with their race, interesting. Found my dress. Alteration department made the experience a little better. They were patient and nice. Overall I DO NOT recommend this place if you want good customer service. These girls are probably just as miserable as the people they work for :( read more

This is the first time I have ever stepped into a David's Bridal, or any wedding dress store. I was taken care of my Yasmein who was very energetic and friendly. She was also very attentive and asked me many questions I had not really thought of before, like veils, headpieces, etc. After asking me what I liked and disliked she picked 2 beautiful gowns that basically nailed what I wanted. She also ran to grab head pieces and accessories to let me try on with the dresses. She was not pushy and honored my budget. The fitting room was filled with lights and mirrors that helped me see the dress in every angle. They did not have my size in any of the dresses i tried on but she did a good job clamping the dress. I had an awesome first time trying on dresses and I am so thankful for Yasmin for helping me get the ball rolling on my wedding dress search. SHE'S SO SWEET! read more
