I had a very wonderful and enjoyable wedding dress shopping experience at David's Bridal in Paramus this past weekend. I had an appointment for 12:30 on Saturday afternoon, but was in the area earlier and stopped in at 11:00 to see if they could take me earlier, which they immediately did. Everybody we dealt with, from the women at the front desk to my bridal consultant and floor manager were all incredibly friendly, patient and knew exactly what dresses to pull. I was prepared to share my consultant with another bride, as the website says you will probably have to do during a weekend appointment, but because we were there early enough and it wasn't crowded yet, I had my wonderful consultant all to myself. By the time we left at 12:30 it was starting to get crowded, so I would recommend going early in the day on weekends, as it was much less crowded when we started. After my bridal appointment, my maid-of-honor wanted to try on some dresses, and we were able to pull our own dresses and try them on easily without any issues. Separately, I was at this same David's Bridal in August to order a bridesmaid dress for another wedding, and I had the same lovely experience; I went around 4:00 PM on a Wednesday afternoon, and there was hardly anybody there. A consultant pulled the dress I needed in my correct size and within 1/2 hour I was out of there with my order placed for that dress. I love that David's Bridal has beautiful and AFFORDABLE dresses - I'm one of those brides that can't fathom spending a ton of money on a dress I'll only wear for one day, and was so pleased with their selection of affordable dresses. My consultant knew I wasn't going to buy a dress that day - it was my first time trying wedding dresses on and I have a lot of personal decisions to make before buying one - but she still treated me with respect and her entire personal attention. She seemed to truly care about me finding the perfect dress and being happy, instead of just focusing on sales and commission, which I greatly appreciated. So I've been to a couple of bridal places that were so-so. I went to Camille La Vie first and although I fell in love with one of the dresses, the associate helping me wasn't the nicest, so that deterred me from purchasing the dress. Next, I went to Bijou Bridal and the associate was nice, but I was underwhelmed by the selection they had. So I decided to book an appointment with David's Bridal and I'm so glad I did! It helped that I knew the type of dress I had in mind, so it would be fairly easy to see the selection they had. It was joy at first sight when I met my stylist, Mollie. She was an absolute delight who was eager and excited to help me pick my dress. Her energy was infectious and as we were looking at the dresses, she made me feel like a princess finding her perfect dress. She was attentive and listened to my needs. Would you believe that the first dress she picked for me, it turned out to be the one!! Came today to try on a dress for my friends wedding this month. I called before coming to make sure I can try on dresses without an appointment. Joseline (I think this is smelling of her name) helped me. I'm pregnant and since David bridal doesn't have maternity dresses (so not cool) I had to try on different sizes to figure out which one to order (which is why I'm ordering the dress now to get the right size). I only go to this David's Bridal, even though there are two others in my area that I can more easily get to. The staff is competent when you ask them significant details like arrival time of the dress and approximate dress alteration time. They were also knowledgeable and consistent to know that I had a profile made up at that store and put all my bridesmaids and flower girls under my name to make for easier information storage. I did not buy my dress here so I can't speak to the wedding gown process. Bottom Line: If you want to use a David's Bridal in the northern NJ area to take care of outfitting your BM's, Jr. BM's and flower girls, this is the place, especially if you want them to get your order right and delivered before the estimated arrival date. Such a different experience compared to the experience I had in the Manhattan location. They were so welcoming and we got two ladies helping us try amazing dresses from the Vera Wang collection. My consultants Ashlee and the assistant store manager Arlene were fantastic and efficient. They were so warm and friendly and it felt so familiar. While the Manhattan location told me it'll take 18 weeks to get my dress, this location will be here in 3 weeks so I'll have plenty of time for alterations. I has placed an online order with David's Bridal, who ended up canceling my order because they did not have the piece. I then contacted the store, who said that they did not have my size, but because I had been there just the day before, and saw the dress, it seemed unlikely that it would have been sold already. So, I called again, and the person checked in store, found it, and held it aside for me. I then proceeded to go in store to try my dress on and purchase it, but there were many issues with the dress. A lot of the beading was not properly on, there was a small stain on the back, and the zipper kept getting stuck. I was still in love with the dress, however, so I asked the manager to give me a discount because there were just so many issues with the dress. Her reply was the standard 10% you get when you sign up, and that it couldn't be combined with any offer. I was willing to take a damaged dress off their hands, but the store manager did not give me a good deal! The employees, however, were very helpful, and nice, this the two star review. Update: Reply to business manager- Right, but the dress I did buy in store was the same one I would had originally ordered online, which should have shown that there was 1 in stock, but because that dress wasn't put in the system, it didn't. If it did show that it was in stock the representative would have placed an online order for the dress and given me the discount on it. read more

My sister, mother, niece, and I walked into David's Bridal at 10:00 AM we were asked if we had an appointment, we did not. The lady at the front desk informed us it is by appointment only and the next available appointment was at 10:00 AM. She informed us we were only to browse, but can't remove anything from the rack until an associate was assigned to us . We waited 30 minutes and no one called us until my sister went to the front desk to inquire. We were finally seen. This wasn't our first time visiting this location - a few years ago we purchased two dresses for my sister's wedding. I don't know if management changed, but this place was just awful. You will not be seen if you don't have an appointment, no chairs are available in the fitting room, the sale associate can NOT call another store to check for inventory - you must call yourself - the managers (two red heads) stare at you up and down - and don't say anything, sample shoes are NOT available and you can't take shoes into the fitting room that are purchased. All their floor sample dresses are falling apart and attitude is given when you ask a question. Our experience was awful, unprofessional and unpleasant. Also, the sale associate that was assigned to us forgot about us and went to go help another customer that ARRIVED after us. Christina called me and made it happen. If you ever need someone on the phone for assistance, Christina was professional, and so helpful. Kate was the bridal expert for me. She was beyond stellar. I described to her exactly what I was looking for (I'm eloping on the beach, and wanted simple, and lightweight, strapless... what am I a saying reviewer doesn't care what I wanted). I would give this location 0 stars if I could. This was supposed to be a special occasion. Trying on wedding dresses was something I had been looking forward to since I was a little girl. My mother, my MOH and I arrived 15 minutes early for our 4:30pm on Saturday. We were told to wait for our consultant in the main lobby area, filled with bridesmaids dresses. First thing that should have let me know this would not be a good experience was the bathroom. There was no toilet paper and it was dirty. Secondly, after looking around through the bridesmaids dresses and playing with accessories, I looked at my watch and it was 4:45pm, 15 mins past our appointment time. I approached the "host" to ask about the delay. She said she had just paged my consultant. When my consultant found me a few minutes later, she was dressed in sweats and had her hair in a messy bun. I know I was not going to Kleinfeld's, but I expected my consultant to be presentable. Next, she took us upstairs and asked what kind of styles I liked. I told her I hadn't tried anything on yet, so was open to different styles because I know things look different on different body types. The older woman at the computer at the top of the stairs interjected rudely "well we can't pull styles for you if you don't know what you like". This should have been another sign that this was not the experience I had thought about for so many years. We started to look through the racks, and my mother mentioned she felt very hot. The consultant told us the air conditioning was broken, and the system was blowing heat. Fine, this was out of their control, but they could have provided bottled water or at least let us know about this issue before our appointment. When we got to the dressing rooms, I noticed the dressing room itself was filthy. The rug on the floor was black from ware, and had obviously not been vacuumed recently. The walls had faded and were stained. I was handed a dress and told she could "zip me" when I was ready. She did not offer to help me into the dress. The dress was so tiny I could not get it over my head. She handed me the second from my pile. At this point, I was drenched in sweat and miserable. I tried to keep an open mind, but there were too many sour parts to this experience. I told the attendant that I couldn't do this and we would be leaving. My mom had already left to get the car. I would not recommend this location or experience to anyone. The icing on the cake was an email the next day, asking to reschedule my "cancelled" appointment. Probably one of the worst experiences I ever had at a bridal shop. The second I walked in, on a freezing cold morning in NJ, they practically grabbed the hot coffee (with lid) out of my hands and sternly scolded me that food and drinks were not allowed in. Then, when we walked to the fitting room to watch my niece's bridesmaids try on dresses, there were NO seats (you heard me correctly), absolutely no seats to sit on and view the gowns. We had to literally all sit on the floor while bridesmaids tried on dresses. It was beyond uncomfortable and unprofessional. There were NO salespeople or "helpers" helping the bridesmaids with their gowns or tending to them in a truly personal way. It was NOT a boutique feel but rather a chain store atmosphere and experience. RUN, don't walk- unless you don't mind a very unfriendly and lackluster bridal experience. PS: bring a folding chair to the bridesmaids fitting room if you do end up going to this place. Lol read more

From ordering my sisters wedding dress in the wrong size, to messing up alterations, to lying about dress inventory, it was the worst experience with any dress shop. All of their mistakes of course costs US money to fix. You would be better off going to Bijou bridal or really anywhere. Are they cheap? Yes but they make so many mistakes it ends up costing you the price of 2 dresses. My sisters dress cost 900 and after all the mistakes they made the total came out to 2k. Do yourself a favor and never go here!!! If you do decide to go, ask to NOT have Maureen. I am updating my previous review: I bought a dress here at the end of June. I liked the dress and so did my mom and the help I received was just wonderful. I ended up purchasing it and, when it came in, I tried it on and took it home. After looking at the pictures I had taken of me in the dress and coming to the realization that I was not comfortable in it (nor was it what I had intended on walking down the aisle in), I asked if I could exchange it. Fortunately they were very helpful and allowed me to. I came back and Thea helped me again. I tried a dress on that I located on the website, and let me tell you, the dress is everything I wanted in a wedding dress. However, I was pleasantly surprised at their bridal services and dresses, and ended up buying my bridal gown there last month. Sheila was my stylist and I HIGHLY recommend her to anyone looking for quality service! She was patient, kind, honest and most importantly, not pushy. I had been to several bridal boutiques before going to DB's, and each time I left feeling lied to and forcefully pushed towards dresses I did not like or I clearly stated were out of my budget. Sheila did not pressure me to purchase any dress, and she even went so far as to pick out dresses that were below budget for me. Customer service here was just as bad as in the Newark location . Manager is horrible with no customer service skills. Leila was a doll and saved my experience. But the manager was useless and rude with no ppl skills. She had no care in the world didn't even sympathize or speak with me. Didn't try once to save my business! As a wedding planner I will be sure to tell all my brides about my experience! The manager couldn't even look at me while speaking acted like I was bothering her. Just sat there twirling her ring. As a manager you should possess people skills and do everything in your power to work with customer and save the experience but she could've cared less. Horrible customer service! I purchased my dress from a different David's Bridal location,came to this location for alterations and was the worst experience of my life. The seamstress Sophia was not so friendly. I kept telling her my dress was still too big and needed to be tighter she said no it didn't, so since I kept having to tell her to take it in tighter because she didn't know how to do her job in the first place my "hour" was up said can you hurry this up your hour is up. When I went to go get dressed in my own clothes I heard her walk back and tell the other seamstress ayiyiyi (not sure how to spell that) what was that and they laughed at me! Juana took care of me for my bridal appointment, and she was absolutely wonderful! She was friendly, kind, and very attentive to the styles that I liked. She was also very nice to my mom and my aunt, who came with me to find my wedding dress. Juana let me try on 5 dresses, and she let me try on the two that I really liked twice. She put various veils and headbands on me to help give me an idea of accessories that I would like. She gave me advice on shoes and undergarments for my dress. She had me walk around in the dresses and look at them at different angles and under different lighting to really find the right dress. I ended up saying "Yes" to my dress, and I can easily say that I did because Juana was super-helpful and lovely to me and my family! Overall, it was a great experience! read more

I went in already a little overwhelmed as I hadn't tried on dresses before and didn't know what I was looking for, or what fit my body. My mom and I were warmly greeted at the front desk where I filled out some simple paper work and awaited our consultant, Wafa. We made our way upstairs to the fitting rooms and lucked out that with an early Saturday morning appointment it was pretty quiet. Wafa chatted with me about my style and truly listened as we explored different options, fits, and necklines. Throughout the appointment Wafa guided me to a style that was perfect for me, but without overwhelming me, or pushing me in any particular direction. To say my experience here over the past few months has been atrocious is an understatement. I pray that future brides, bridal parties, and anyone else who dares to step foot into this store finds this review helpful. I would give it negative stars if I could. I have been in multiple weddings so I am not new to the bridal gown / bridesmaids' experience. First, let's talk about the way the bride was treated. The staff, minus Celest and Joclyn (who were nothing but courteous and helpful), is beyond rude. They made comments about the bride's mother not being present during one dress fitting (which is absolutely out of line) and did not listen to anything the bride said based on the type of dresses she wanted to try on. When she was then deciding between two dresses they LIED TO HER and told her that there were only 2 more of one of the dress available and that no more were being made by the designer which means she would have to buy it on the spot or possibly lose it. We later found out that "Oh no, there are many in stock" so said a coworker after the dress was ready to be picked up and we found a huge hole in it. They suggested them just fixing it but it was possible to get another one since there were many left. The second time she went to pick up the "discontinued" dress, they did not provide us with a private dressing room space for her to try it on before taking it home. We were put with another large group of people which ended up stepping all over her brand new, beautiful, and now dirty dress. The bride proceeded to order a vail from them as well. They first tried to convince her to take the floor model yet she protested and demanded a new one. She has gone back THREE times to get the vail because each time there was a problem with it- a hole, missing rhinestones, pieces glued together, etc. She still doesn't have her vail- it's been 3 months. The bridesmaids experience for trying on dresses wasn't terrible- a typical series of dresses before ordering the one the bride chose. When they arrived at the store to be picked up, I watched as a worker DRAGGED them across the floor, thus getting these light pink dresses dirty BEFORE even leaving the store! They also did not steam the dress or provide assistance with checking the sizes of the dresses prior to leaving. They just wanted your signature and for you to go. When we asked to try them on to check sizes, they rolled their eyes, huffed, and made it seem like we were causing a huge complication for them. The store was empty. There were maybe, 3 other people there in total. I also had the misfortune of purchasing a pair of shoes online from David's Bridal. It turns out that if you want to return what you bought, you cannot do it in stores, and have to pay to ship it back AS WELL AS not get refunded for the originally shipping charge. So I ended up spending approx. $20 just to try on a pair of shoes. I will NEVER EVER shop here again nor will I let any girl I know (family or friend) do so in the future. I do not care if their dresses are beautiful and significantly cheaper than a bridal boutique. I much rather pay for an overpriced dress than to ever go through this type of hell ever again. The bride and her party / guests deserve to be listened to, treated well, and not have their expensive dressed be dragged and ruined by unhappy, nasty workers. read more

Ok so I bought my dress over the weekend (7/27/19) to be exact and I had THE BEST experience w/ Juana!!! SO here are the basics, if you are going to ANY David's bridal boutique, you should most definitely make an appointment. Yes, it's only 90min, but it will help make your experience run smoother!!! Also, to help your stylist, I would suggest choosing your favorites on their site so that they can have them ready for you to look at. My experience at this location was everything and more and honestly felt just like the movies!!!! (just w/o the Champagne....deff should've brought some though) After reading the review of this location prior to going, I basically spoke Juana's name into existence because I was SOOOOOO hoping that I'd get her as my stylist and I DID!!! AND SHE WAS THE BEST!!!!!!!!! (Fun fact: you CAN request her! You can request any stylist that you want.) Juana had all of my favorites that I made on the site ready on one rack with some suggestions from her as well. I looked through those, picked my favorites, and on to another rack I went and then another and another until I there was none left. From then on, it was time to try on dresses. Now, did I try on every single dress that I said that I liked? No, but what I did realize after the day was done, was that from the ones that I did say that I liked, she took that info and based her selection off of the ones that I chose, because honestly...90 mins would not have been enough time to really try on every single dress that I liked. And the dress that was the winner....wasn't even one of the "favorites" that I picked on the site and wasn't one that I was too crazy about on the rack either, but I WAS intrigued. So technically after everything...Juana ultimately picked my dress and IT IS BEAUTIFUL!!!!!!!!!! Something that I would have never picked out on my own and it fit like a GLOVE!!!!!!! It was PERFECT and she knew from the very beginning that was the one before I even tried anything on. So more about Juana....She is incredibly nice, super-efficient, a little fast (but it makes sense when you think of it), understanding, approachable, gave great advice and didn't give me any negative or pushy vibes. She knows what she is doing and will not waste your time. Also...fun fact about the dress that I chose. On their website, it is shown as a plus size dress and I am sooooo not plus size so I completely overlooked it on the site and that's why I never took a second look. So if you aren't plus size and you are looking through the site to pick your favorites, keep your mind open!!!! All of their dresses come in so many different sizes and can be tailored to your liking. Like, you can take the sleeves off, open up the back, cover up the cleavage, or you can open it up some more if you want....they will try their best to make it happen so please keep that in mind. read more

I didn't wear a bridal gown when I got married many years ago to my first husband, who passed away a few years ago. So last year, the second time around, I decided I wanted one. I went to David's Bridal in Paramus and was helped by the loveliest young lady, Stephanie B. There were many beautiful gowns to choose from, and she helped me find the "gown of my dreams" that I had never even dreamed of! In addition, with her help and the help of some other store employees, I was able to find the perfect necklace and earrings and the perfect veil, and we were able to figure out a way to add just enough fullness to the front of the dress without adding a crinoline all the way around. Last month, one of my daughters bought her wedding gown at the same store. She, too, had a very good experience and found a dress she absolutely loves. My husband and I joined her for her appointment, and Stephanie B. was there. She remembered me from last year and greeted me very warmly, and chatted with me briefly. So, when I realized that I needed a mother-of-the-bride dress, I called and made an appointment with her. I don't normally go shopping for a dress by myself, but Stephanie B. was just so sweet and so helpful that I didn't need to have anyone else with me. She helped me find a dress that I really love, and she made my shopping experience absolutely delightful! read more

There are a lot of mixed reviews here, which made me nervous about shopping at David's Bridal for my wedding dress. But overall my experience was pretty positive. I haven't done alterations yet, so I don't know how that will go. My second time trying dresses I had Megan. She was not a typical sales person, which I appreciated. She was not pushy, or trying to butter me up. She was honest and straightforward, asking me what I liked or disliked. I got the sense that she really wanted me to be happy with my dress. She even warned me when a dress was out of my budget! She was so helpful & ultimately I ended up buying one of the dresses she picked out for me. My advice is to go on a weekday. You will have their undivided attention. It gets packed on the weekends. Also don't buy the first time.
