So my review is super late, but I wanted to go through everything before I posted my review. I had my bridal dress appointment, bridesmaids appintment and bridal alterations all done at this DavidsBridal location. I loved Juana for my bridal dress appointment, she was super patient and amazing. I had two appointments with her and I went to the first appointment completely unprepared. I had no idea what type of dress I was looking for but Juana was able to lead me in the right direction. I was able to find my dress at my second appointment and Juana was super supportive the entire time, which I needed as my crazy mother was rejecting every dress I liked. My alteration process was also wonderful. I had to get my dress drastically altered (i purchased the dress precovid and then lost a lot of weight during covid). I cant remember the names of all the wonderful ladies who had helped me but the person I spoke to the most was the Korean lady (I want to say her name was Sunny?) I told her I was still dieting and she helped squeeze me in in last mintue appointments while being realistic as to what they can finish in time so I would have a dress that fit me perfectly. My only reason for not giving 5star was the bridesmaid appointment. I was really disappointed and left that day without finding a dress for my BM. We went prepared this time, did some reasearch online and had specific dresses/specific styles that I wanted my BM to try on. Again, I dont remember the name of the consultant that we had the appointment with. I had asked her if they had the specific dresses instore, which she told us they didnt, and then asked her if she can recommend some in a specific style. She picked out one dress... Also the dresses she told us they didnt have instore, we found them while browsing. When I asked her about it, she said "it was in the clearance section and that she doesnt know whats in the clearance section." hmmmm... ok.... I think we just ended up with an unmotivated consultant, it was also snowing pretty heavily that day so I can understand if her mind was elsewhere. I saw other consultants that were being friendly and helpful with their appointments so I can say its probably not just a blantant difference between bridal appointments and bridesmaids appointments. read more

So I probably tried on 15-20 dresses before coming to the Paramus David's Bridal and I was not optimistic. I had been to the David's in Long Island City and the store was small and most dresses I found on the site and pinned they didn't have. I went on a Saturday which is probably why it was so crowded but after I met my stylist Ruth, I was put right at ease. Not only did she listen to what I asked for and showed her on my pins but she got to know a little more about me and my personality and looked for dresses that matched. I brought my crazy family along but even with all of their questions she kept calm was exceptionally helpful. She kept saying "we're a team" and that helped bring my anxiety down a ton. During all the other appointments (before this one) my mom barely smiled at dresses but I stepped in the Melissa Sweet and she was exuberant! Ruth styled me with a head piece and adjusted my hair to make the whole look come together. Magically, she even got me in a smaller size! She made me look so good, the 3 other girls trying dresses on around me tried on every one that I did! Ruth was AMAZING, professional, sweet and put me at ease during this really stressful process. I can't commend her enough- RUTH, YOU ROCK!!! I think my future hubby will be floored by the dress that is to her :-) read more

I was one day over the return policy on some minor items. The manager stated that she would only let me exchange the items for something else in the store. I do not need another item. I recently purchased a 150.00 flower girl dress from them and I also purchased a wedding dress from them too. I would expect them to bend a little for a customer who has spent a decent amount of money in their store. I will never recommend them again. They lost a customer over something that could easily have been managed better. read more

As both a previous bride and now, a sole bridesmaid shopping for one dress without the bride present, you really get to see the discrepancy in treatment based on how much money DB thinks they will make off of you. After my experience at Paramus, I went to the Totowa location instead because I was turned off (for my review on Totowa, see that location). Two years ago, I bought a bridal dress at this location. At that time I had an assigned stylist who was very helpful. One of the managers here is rather pushy and (to this day) is IMO too micromanaging and disrespectful of her own staff, but I digress. What helped with the last experience was that I knew exactly which dresses I wanted to try, and I was given the time and space to make my own decisions. I had the dress altered here as well with no problems. The one thing that I found ridiculous was that they charged me $10 for a garment bag that was flimsy cloth and not even waterproof! Oh well. That was my experience as a bride. Going back as a bridesmaid was another story. Even though I had an appointment, I had to wait 15 minutes for someone to be assigned to me, someone who was already assigned to two other parties. I gave her a list of dresses, and she couldn't even be bothered to find all the dresses, and I had to remind her to get the last one. No apology and no customer service - she essentially left the dresses with me and disappeared. When I needed another size/color, I went out to look for it on my own. I saw my stylist wandering the nearly empty showfloor, and when she saw me the first thing out of her mouth was, "Sorry, you can't pick more dresses, we're closing in 10 minutes." Why would you not tell me this earlier? Why didn't you come by my dressing room to check on how I'm doing, and if I needed another size, or at least to let me know I'm closing? My guess is because she knew she wasn't going to make a commission from me as I had told her today was a day where I needed to take pictures to show to my sister, the bride, for her to decide. At the end, she asked me half-heartedly if I was going to buy a dress tonight. I told her directly that I will be going to the Totowa location instead because I hadn't made a decision. She didn't care and just said, "Ok, good night." Clearly, she had zero passion for her job, but her dead-in-the-eyes expression just deflated any energy and goodwill I had left over and left me feeling exhausted and dissatisfied. Look - I think for affordable dresses DB is a still a viable option, only because they don't have a lot of competitors in the area. But I would only go back with the assumption that unless I'm a bride I will not be helped, I will have to fend for myself, and I won't be treated with the same attention and kindness. I know that's the reality, but it doesn't make the shopping experience any nicer. I am now looking at online and NYC options (such as J Crew and BHLDN) for dresses that will meet my needs and where, visiting their B&M stores, I get much better service. read more

What can I say. I came into this store with no expectations and looking for styles and colors for my bridesmaids only to get an impromptu appointment with Thea who took her time to get to know ME and my style when I had no idea what my style was. After 2 dresses in...she got a feel of what I like and what looked good on me. I felt like a model and I felt fabulous. And then I found the dress. I'm not an emotional person but my sister and I were tearing up because from the moment I saw myself in the mirror...I knew that was it. That THAT was the dress I'm going to get married in. My final update: I got the dress after the alterations, and it was fine. The difference in the dress was refunded to me. So overall, they made the situation right, but I feel like we had to fight at every turn. I will never shop at this location again and I don't suggest it for other people. Went in for my six o'clock appointment about 15 minutes early and they were able to assist me right away in a fitting for a bridesmaid dress. I would not recommend this store to any bride, MOB/MOG, or bridesmaid. I went into this store three times between December 2019-January 2020 to look at dresses for my mom and MOH prior to our May 30, 2020 wedding. Associates in the store were super inconsistent with how they handled our presence. On time, we were allowed to shop and look around on our own without any pressure, another time we were stalked as we went around the store and questioned every 5 minutes, and another time we couldn't find someone to help us when we had questions and wanted to try on items. The dressing room area for non-brides is awful. It's literally a room of full mirrors and the individual stalls have no mirrors inside, so you have to leave your changing stall to see what you look like, and then walk out into a singular, entirely mirrored room. So heaven forbid you are self conscious and don't want to get the first look of yourself in a dress in front of a bunch of strangers gawking at you. Also, on one visit an associate incorrectly measured my MOH, told her dresses didn't come in colors that they did, and gave her the wrong timeline for ordering, so basic competency of employees is quite inconsistent. My MOH did end up purchasing her MOH dress from David's Bridal in mid January, and it was supposed to come in by early April. Our wedding was May 30th. Things have been shut down and delayed for a while due to Covid, and she has heard nothing from them about her dress, despite trying to get updates from them several times since early April, when the dress was due. She reached out to them when everything started to shut down in late March and they said her dress was right on schedule, and then heard nothing from them throughout April and May. She last reached out to them early last week (May 26th) to check on the status of her dress and no one would answer the phones or communicate with her. Then on May 30th she got an email from David's saying her dress was at the store and they would ship it to her. Keep in mind, when David's orders your dresses they record what the wedding date is at the time you place the order, so they had on record that the wedding was that day. She told them the wedding was that day and she didn't want the dress anymore, but they said she couldn't return it until the store she purchased it from opened back up, and then she'd have just a 14 day window in which to return it. She asked when the store would open, and they said they didn't know, and she asked if she would be notified when the Paramus store opened and they told her no, she needed to call back and check regularly on her own. I understand that these times are unprecedented, but companies can and should do better keeping customers informed about time sensitive items they have already paid for. It is completely unacceptable for a store to just hold hostage items and then not offer an easy returns/refund policy for items received well after they were promised. My MOH ended up not having anything that went with our wedding colors so her look actually clashed with everyone else's and she didn't even look like a part of the wedding party for our event. Her dress was delayed by nearly two months and she got zero communication from David's. I'm so glad it wasn't my wedding dress and feel really awful for all of the brides getting screwed by this chain. They really don't care about customers at all. The only reason I'm not giving it one star is because the Paramus store does have a wide selection and has some budget options, so I would still recommend shopping here just to see if you can find something on sale to purchase off the rack. The store seems clean as well, and has a lot of accessories to choose from at different price points (although a lot of items are overpriced at full retail price), so it's good to look at if you are just getting ideas. If you want a full bridal experience and are planning to order your dress, I honestly think you are better off going to other retailers or purchasing online via another store. This chain just doesn't care about customers as people. Some of the sales people were fine, but the company as a whole just does not have a culture of exceptional (or even adequate) customer service and brides-to-be deserve much better service leading up to their big day! read more

I was worried about going to this shop because of all of the bad reviews and once I got there I could see why There are many ladies there that could come out a little strong when you walk in. There tone of voice and their lack of availability can be disturbing since they are working in a bridal shop. If you dont like to attend brides in their search for the dress of their dream then dont work at a bridal shop However, I have to say I was very lucky during my visit because a very polite and dedicated lady took care of me Her name is Alexa D. She really took the time to find out what type of dress i was looking for. She selected a few dresses that ended up being my favorites. Alexa was honest and did not push any dress on me. She wanted to make sure i loved the dress I made a second appoinment and she even came on her day off to make sure i was getting the dresses we previously selected. Talk about caring and service!!! A+ The 4 stars are for the variety of dresses and for Alexas service The shop has a wide selection of dresses and they are well organized do just make sure you ask for Alexa and you will have a great consultant who cares about you and your special day. Brides and bridesmaids beware! I did not buy my bridal gown from here. 1) I did not like their styles. 2) the girl helping me had no clue what she was doing and had zero sales experience. She didn't offer to help even zip up the dresses for me and kept bringing over styles that were not what I asked for. I did, however, come here for bridesmaids dresses. They have a variety of colors and styles to choose from and I'm letting my girls choose their style in a color I chose. I ordered a dress for my maid of honor and asked that I come pick it up when it arrived so she could try it on and then take home...they shipped it to my house after leaving a voicemail the day it arrived. Okay, fine. She ended up returning it because it didn't look right (they did not have this dress in a sample for her to try). We ordered another dress and I said "please do not ship the dress- we will come in when it arrives. Perfect. It came in, we went there, she tried it on, it looked great. When we were ready to leave, I said "Do you need me to sign that I'm taking the dress home?" Their response: "Nope, you're all set." Seemed odd, but okay, we left. I get a voicemail this morning that the dress is in, and they are shipping it to me. Funny, because the dress is in my dining room. I call the store to advise them of this.... 14 calls, and got hung up on before anyone even said "Hello, David's Bridal"... on the 15th time, someone finally answered. I asked for a manager on duty since I have now called 15 times to be hung up on. The girl on the phone was "unable" to get a manager because they were busy and I must have been hung up on by accident because they were busy. I feel that someone there just didn't want to do their job, but that's my opinion. Okay, fine. I told the girl that I received a voicemail this morning that the dress was in, and could she please check for me to make sure it was in fact at the store...she typed into the computer, and sure enough, she thinks the dress is there. I told her that I had picked it up and no one even asked to see the receipt for me to take it and they told me that I didn't need to sign that I took it. I advised her to have her manager call me, and have not yet gotten the call, I don't think that I will. I advised her also that I could have walked in last night and said I was anyone and taken home a dress for free. Bad business happening at this location and I will NOT be ordering my other bridesmaids' dresses from this location. Go 20 minutes away to Totowa- the store is cleaner and their staff is much nicer! 2 stars for the quality of the bridesmaid dresses, 0 stars for customer service and store quality. This location in dark and dingy, definitely needs an upgrade! read more

When I walked in, I was greeted by a friendly host, and then we were introduced to Donna. At first all was well. She asked the girls to pick out some dresses they liked and we followed her up to the dressing rooms (which was one of the biggest David's bridal dressing rooms I've seen btw since rt 22 is very small and seems packed) everything was great until we started to ask her about other dresses. I had asked my girls to go online and pick some dresses they liked so when we get there we wouldn't spend So much time looking around and we could just get the dresses we liked. So when we would show her dresses, she would always be making up excuses. It was "oh no, we don't have that dress here, it's new" when it really wasn't because we had tried it on in January. Or "that dress is a prom dress, so it's sold Out" when online it was clearly in the bridesmaid section and came with all of David's bridals colors. I highly doubt a prom dress can come in 46 colors. Then I should her another dress and she responded with, "no, you can't pick that one because it's not David's bridal, it's dB studio. The shade is different. Stick with your shade." And then I had enough because not only did she not want to be honest with me and do her job, she was being rude. So I said "I don't care if it's the wrong shade, I want to see it." And then she comes back and says "it's sold out" like lady are you serious? (And no, it wasn't sold out because I found it later with the help of another stylist.) Then when 3 of my girls couldn't find a dress they liked, we went back downstairs and looked some more. Then I laid my eyes on dB studio. I got a dress in wine (which is my color) and a dress in Cabernet (which is the dB studio version of wine) and I put them next to each other and guess what? Little to no difference. So I told my bridesmaid "you know what, just take it. I Don't care for a little Difference like that." So then we went back upstairs and while I was going up, Donna was coming down and she stopped me and said in the rudest tone, "I'm doubling up your girls because they're not purchasing anything and I have a group coming in who is actually going to spend money here." I was so shocked that she had said that and it automatically put me in a bad mood. The 4 girls that we're still trying on dresses, were basically all picking between 2, so we would've been like 10/15 minutes tops. My friend who had picked the dB studio dress puts it on, and when Donna sees it, she basically yells at us and says "I told you! That's not the right shade! You can't pick that one." So this was when I gave her attitude back and I said "I let her. It's my wedding and I get to pick. She can wear it." She then leaves and when she comes up, she starts to rush us because another group is coming in and she looks at me and says "I need the rooms. How long did they tell you? Each appointment is an hour and half so you guys need to finish." I responded with "actually I wasn't told a time" she doesn't respond to me and simply barges into one of my bridesmaids rooms while she is putting on clothes. With no respect whatsoever. No knock, no "hey can I come in?" She just opens the door and took all the dresses out of there. THEN (yep, there's more), when all of my bridesmaids finally finish, one of them goes to put all of the dresses she didn't want Onto the hangers with the other dresses, Donna comes in, snatches the dresses out of the girls hand and makes her drop everything. She looks back and gives one of my girls a rude "oh, sorry." Then to finish, when one of my girls went to order her dress and Donna was filling the slip to bring to the register, she goes "good, you're buying. I don't understand why the others aren't" in a snobby tone. And As we walked out, the other group was starting to try in dresses and one girl (not mine, but from the other party) was looking through the dresses we didn't want and Donna says, once again rudely"what do you want?" When the girl is trying to answer donnas question, Donna answers "can't you see I'm busy? I'm doing something I'll be back in 5 seconds. Wait" Obviously I spoke to Jennifer, the manager, about how Donna was rude and disrespectful and she told me that when I can back to give her a call to make sure I don't get the same stylist. But I will NOT be coming back here. I have NEVER IN MY LIFE been treated with such rudeness and disrespect from someone who is providing customer service. She completely ruined that whole experience for us. It was stressful because of her, it was rushed because of her, and everyone left in a bad mood because of her. In short.. I won't be coming back here. And if I ever do, I refuse to work with Donna again. She either woke up on the wrong side of the bed or she's always like that and needs to be fired. David's bridal, you should hire people who like working with people. Not those who are rude and seem to hate everyone they come in contact with. read more

First and foremost, I would like to thank the DB Paramus store for taking the correct measurements to ensure customers safety during this time. I visited the location last Saturday and my stylist was Juana. Juana was not only accommodating to me, but also to my mom. It is great to have someone who speaks Spanish that goes above and beyond the way to make this an unforgettable mother/daughter experience. Juana listened to my preferences, saw my "favorites" marked on my DB profile and provided options that not only I would love, but also look good on my body type. I found my wedding dress on my first visit thanks to her help. As a first time bride, emotions run high when you find your wedding dress. However, a few day's later, I realized I loved the wedding dress more than the veil. I went back to DB where Molly helped me find the veil I was looking for. Once again, this was a pleasant visit. Molly made my exchange hassle-free. After returning home, I noticed the veil had a manufacturer's defect. I called the store and spoke to Anthony who immediately asked for my wedding date to be able to provide options to resolve my issue. Being a retail manager, I can assure you that this team truly cares about your experience vs making a sale. Between my 3 visits, I have nothing negative to say about the multiple people I've encountered. Everyone around, even if you're not dealing with them directly, is so welcoming and friendly. My wife liked a dress on David Bridal's website. We went to the Paramus store to check if the store has it or has something similar. We went on Oct 10th and the store did not have the dress of any size. So the sales representative told us he could order it for us and ship it to our home and he mentioned the return should be within 7 days. We received on Oct 22nd (12 days after we paid) and it did not fit my wife and she did not like the quality so we went on 10/24 to return it. The manager refused to return saying that it is 7 days from the purchase, not delivery?! We asked how to return something we have not received she told us you had to call and cancel it?! She limited our options to either take the dress or issue store credit?! I refused to go with any of these options and left the dress and the store credit at the store - contacted customer service this morning and the representative keeps repeating that the policy is 7 days from the purchase day. The 7 days policy from the purchase makes sense if I walked out of the store with the item but in my case, it was delivered to my home so the online policy should be applied in my case. Also, one employee told us that she checked on the system and found the dress was delivered to the store on 10/20 and then shopped to our home - so if you knew the item would be delivered after the 7 days period why you did not contact us and let us know if we want to have the item or cancel it. I have never experienced something like this before and I feel very frustrated - and their customer service keeps saying we have to be consistent with all customers which sounds like we want to be unfair to all customers. read more

Terrible customer service in store and through communication with corporate. Fiance's wedding dress was nearly ruined a couple weeks to the wedding. The tailoring was severely done incorrectly. She was rushed out the store initially the first time picking up her dress, while the store manager and head tailor was nowhere to be seen. We eventually had to go back again to get it fixed and it is still not perfect. Still in talks with a customer service rep over email and their lack of concern or accommodation is baffling. They tried to charge us again for additional tailoring even though it was their mistake. Never again. read more

Nanhee was amazing! She really took in all the information i gave her about how i wanted my alterations go look and she was so patient because my dress is big! In the end when i picked it up it was perfect in size and everything. Seriously recommend this Davids Bridal and Nanhee herself! But all the staff is very sweet and helpful. read more

It was my first time ever trying to find a wedding dress and I didn't know where to start. The person who helped me, Juana, was really nice and made me feel comfortable. The people working there were really nice and helpful at the same time. I also got to meet the manager and she was also helpful and giving us advice on our choices. The prices on the dress weren't so bad either. I got to be able to find one with my budget. Overall, as this was my first experience for finding a wedding dress was a success!! I stopped in on Saturday evening at this location and when I approached the front desk the lady with dark long hair asked what was the occasion I was shopping for and when I told her it was for a wedding dress she said I needed an appointment even to browse around. She had a bit of attitude when I asked a question about looking at dresses. It wasn't welcoming at all and as a bride to be I'm trying to find my perfect gown at the right place. I don't recommend this David's bridal location at all. Staff isn't nice and welcoming. read more

This store is a nightmare. On my first day of wedding dress shopping, and with very little idea of what I might want beside simple and not too flowery, I made the terrible mistake of stopping by this David's Bridal without an appointment on a weekend. We'd been to a department store that morning where we were in and out quite quickly, finding only one or two dresses to try on when we'd been promised dozens, and so stopped at David's Bridal on a whim, not realizing that looking at the dresses on the rack was forbidden and that weekend appointments book up months in advance. The coordinator at the desk was kind enough to offer us a canceled appointment if we waited, however, and so I set about filling in the four page intake survey and picking out dresses I might like to see in the catalog . . . We were finally sent upstairs to meet our consultant, who immediately launched into a prepared speech about layaway and credit card offers. My mom gently broke in and told her that she didn't need to go on - if we were going to get a dress, we weren't planning on using layaway. Rather than stopping her presentation, she merely glared at my mom, telling her that, at David's Bridal, "only one person speaks at a time, and that's me." Needless to say, that set the tone for the rest of our time there. We listened to the end of the layaway plan speech, she looked at the dresses I wanted to try on and told me I wouldn't like any of them and she'd just bring out what she though would work, asked my size and then told me bridal sizes ran bigger and so she would get me something about 7 sizes above my street clothes, and then asked about my bra size. I told her I didn't want to buy a special bra there, and I was fine with mine, but she yelled at me that I wasn't allowed to try on their dresses without their bras . . . and so I told her my size. They didn't have that cup size, she said, so she'd just bring me whatever cup size she had and increase the band size from 34 to 42. That would work, right? Against my better judgment, I followed her to the dressing room, where she yelled at me for putting my coat inside - it was for her to put dresses in, not for me to hang things in! She tried to force my sister (my maid of honor) out of the room as well, telling me that she would be the one in charge of zipping and judging fit. However, after bringing the first dress, she left, nowhere to be found. The first dress was terrible, and so I took it off right away, but when she came back, she demanded that I put it back on so she could see. When I said I hated it, she actually yelled at me through the dressing room door, threatening to cancel the rest of the session if I didn't put it back on for her to see. I was near tears, but wanted to see the one dress I'd come for. After several more size 24 dresses that were not only hideous but huge on me, she finally brought the one I wanted. It looked nice, but was falling off on top. As soon as I came out of the dressing room, my mom shooed me back in, telling me it was indecent! But the consultant took one look and told me she knew what was wrong - it was the fit, and the dress was TOO SMALL! She would have to special order the 26. SERIOUSLY?! Oh, and I wouldn't be falling out like that if I was wearing the bra she provided me. You know, the one with the size 42 band? With all the nastiness and the pushing me around, I was done, even though I did like the dress. I told the consultant I was giving up, that I hadn't seen anything I liked, and she followed me into the dressing room to help me out of the last dress (though I hardly needed help . . it was kind of taking itself off at that point). Just as she took the dress she turned to me and told me that she wasn't surprised I hadn't found anything I liked, since I didn't know what I wanted. She had talked to her manager, in fact, and they had both tried to find something I'd like, but I was the most difficult customer she'd ever had, and no one had any idea what might please me. And the kicker? She asked if we wanted to schedule a follow-up appointment on the way out. Um, I'm going to go with no. read more

My rating reflects the level of service and how much I enjoyed my bridal dress consultation at this location. Molly Knee was such a pleasure to work with during my appointment. She was so attentive and a great listener. She made my mom and I feel comfortable during our time there and I found her easy to talk to and relatable. I did not end up getting my wedding dress from David's but I would 100% recommend Molly to any bride trying on dresses. read more

Dated, cheap-looking store with terrible service. I ordered my bridesmaid's dress in December and needed to have it shipped to my home. They told me it would arrive at their store by March 1st and that they would then ship it to me. March 2nd: I followed up with them. The dress hadn't arrived. March 7th: They called me to confirm my shipping address and said they would ship me the dress the next day - already a week later than they had originally promised. March 11th: No dress. I followed up and was told someone would call me back. March 15th: A rep called me and gave me a tracking number for my package, which had only been shipped that day. The dress arrived YESTERDAY, more than 3 weeks late. The wedding is in 1 week, so now I have to scramble to get alterations on this way-too-expensive-for-what-it-is dress and pray that everything is fine. Don't bother. Neither the stress nor the dress is worth dealing with this place! read more

This store is ALL about making money and not about making you happy or getting what you want as a bride. Corporate is also no help at all, the whole organization is so mismanaged. They should realize that this is about an experience that a woman will only have one time in her whole life and should not be treated as just another sale. DO NOT work with Rita as your consultant and if at all possible go to another David's Bridal location or better yet ANY other bridal store possible. The 2 stars are for the dress styles and color choices-- there are plenty of styles and colors to pick from, even more online, but this store had a fairly decent amount to try on and see in person. Major points lost for the amount of people in the store-- especially in the fitting room. It was absolutely horrendous. The layout of the fitting room on the first floor was awful and way too crowded. There were so many people in there that you literally could not take a step without bumping into someone, and the noise level was way above comfortable. There is no room outside the fitting room, so anyone who wanted to see how dresses fit had to stand inside the fitting room area. Saleswomen were overworked trying to help too many people at once. After you got your fitting room you barely saw your saleswoman. There was no one to help with sizes delivery dates or advice on how the dress should fit. We ended up looking things up on the internet. We made an appointment, as I'm sure everyone else did, but so little personal attention was give. that I don't know why the store bothers with appointments. Bottom line: What should have been an exciting and fun experience was stressful and loud. I understand that they're the only DB in quite a big area but store management really needs to address these issues. I can't imagine anyone working there for very long, I definitely could not...as a customer I couldn't wait to leave the store just to be able breathe and hear myself think. read more

My experience at David's Bridal in Paramus was horrible. I would not recommend this place to anyone. Customer Service is terrible. To keep a long story short. I have a tight budget and didn't want to spend so much money on my dress. The consultant ended up bringing me a dress that was $150 over my budget. This was upsetting to me because I made it clear to her that I had a specific price point. She was unhelpful and she was pushing me to get a more expensive dress than what I could afford. I asked what else she had in my size and price point and three UGLY dresses was all she had... and she said mostly everything they had was in size 4-6 and they didn't have anything in "my" size. I'm a size 10. Guess that makes me fat? Now, I got my beautiful gown at a different store for a wonderful price. I don't have any shoes. I'm simply trying to call the store in advance to see if they have a specific shoe on their website in stock at the store. I keep being placed on hold and the first time I called I got hung up. So incredibly rude! I don't even know why I bothered. Save yourself gas, time and money! Avoid this store at all costs. Or at least I hope your experience is better than mine. read more

I found two dresses that i liked (and i was willing to pay more), but because of the "pushy" salesperson i didnt want to get the dresses from your store. Another thing is that in your company's privacy policy it says " David's Bridal may also choose to share, sell, trade, or rent your personal information to other third parties for direct marketing purposes". So whether somebody pays attention to fineprint, or not (and im absolutely certain that i opted out from any unwanted emails/calls) your company still guilty in soliciting. read more

Sad to say that after my great experience at this Paramus location on With CHOOSING my daughters dress with Cassandra, I am here today after the wedding event to give a One star because I had no choice!!! THEY REALLY DONT DESERVE ANY STARS WITH THE QUALITY OF DRESSES. Let me make all brides aware that their dresses are CHEAP!! There prices for alterations are ridiculously out of control with spending $1500. On dress $175 on vail and another $592.00 on ALTERATIONS alone.. You would expect to have your dress in one piece right? "WRONG" My daughter's dress after THE wedding came home with 4 HOLES DUE TO THEIR BUSTLE JOB. (Again $162.00 in bustles alone) i spoke to "manager" Jen today who explained that a dress does " NOT LAST OVER AND OVER AGAIN" and it happens 60% of time, when dress is stepped on.. Mind you MY DAUGHTERS DRESS DID NOT REACH THE FLOOR... What a disgrace!! The NERVE with such a response from someone who is a so called Manager.. "All sales are final" over something like a clearly unused tiara or pearl necklace? The expense of accessories, they really should accept returns instead of just exchange. Also, you can find a great, seemingly very gently priced, but then alterations come up to over half the price of the sensibly priced dress you bought. Might be "the way it's done", but seems excessive to me. I think it would be a more honest system to simply include alterations in whatever they charge for the dress so you truly know what you're getting into in the first place. read more

Having a lot of friends getting married during this wedding season, recently I have been to more bridal shops then I care to admit. Even though she was pretty sure she was not going to purchase from them, one of my BFF brides decided to go to David's to see what silhouettes look best. I arrived EARLY. Informed the receptionist/manager I had arrived and she directed me to some chairs to wait. I believe our appointment was for noon... at 11:59 the receptionist/manager asked if my friend was coming... well she wasn't late yet... friend walked in at noon exactly (it was her lunch break). The rest of the minus one star: My BFF had called up earlier in the week for her appointment, she was told to go online and pick her favorites, so they could pull her favorites for when she got there. Even though I had arrived at the appointment an hour early, they didn't pull the dresses... they didn't pull the dresses while I sat waiting. They only pulled the dresses when my friend showed up. However, she only had an hour - her lunch break - to try on dresses, so pulling dresses cut into it. Our consultant was super nice and super helpful. She was sensitive, which was something I was concerned about for my BFF... and part of the reason we didn't go with her mother the first time. Our consultant took into account that we had a time constraint as well, and was very good about trying to stay within it. She paid attention to what the bride was interested in, what her [body] concerns were, and she seemed to know how to address these issues. She not only allowed us to take pictures, but took a couple for us (so we could see the silhouettes). When I mentioned my BFF is super into tiaras, she ran and got one for us, so we could really picture it. The bride and I both really enjoyed our experience, and if we hadn't been looking for a more designer type gown, we totally would have probably stayed here. I did not order my wedding dress, rather the bridesmaid/flower girl dresses. By no means, am I high maintenance.. Just needed a few basic things... My experience here, compelled me to write this review. SERVICE (or lack there of)- I made a Saturday appointment- I am not sure why I even had an appointment, because they will continue to take walk-ins which makes the store very chaotic. I knew Saturdays would be busy, which is the reason why I made an appointment in the first place. The person who helped us, JACKIE, was not very knowledgeable about the dresses, and would disappear for 10-15mins at a time to assist other customers. When she would come back, she would not remember what we size/style we asked her to get. We were given 1 tiny dressing room for 4 people who had to try on, plus 4 additional people with them. I was so grateful for the other people with me, because they proceeded to pull dresses on their own. PRODUCT KNOWLEDGE- I had a very specific color palette and Jackie did not know her colors very well. My sister was able to grab swatches and we figured it out on our own. Also, we had questions about straps for one of the dresses. Did it come with it? The answers were always "I DONT KNOW". CHECK OUT- It took about 45 minutes to check out. The line was getting longer and longer behind us and we were the ones that were holding it up. Our person messed up the order and our patience was getting very thin. Finally, someone else took over, which helped the process. DRESS DELIVERY- I live about 4 hours away. We were forced to sign a form that says we will pick up the dresses within 14 days. I told them that I cannot take a trip to NJ for every piece that comes in (6 pieces total). They said id have to talk to the receiving department to coordinate that, and was not given a definite answer. PHONE CALLS- The few times I had to call, takes me about 15 minutes to get to someone. The average hold time is anywhere from 5-7 minutes.. If its answered before then, it is usually someone who picked up the wrong line. After 7 minutes, I usually hang up and try again. No one is apologetic, or even knows who I need to talk to. Very frustrating to get an answer from someone. OVERALL-The dresses really weren't that cheap,and for the service we received, I would have preferred to give my business to a small boutique, even if I paid $50.00 more. Don't expect to get any clear answers from them. Also, I have decided that once the dresses are in, that I will take them to be altered, by someone else. The sooner I can get David's bridal out of the picture, the better. DONT WASTE YOUR TIME OR MONEY! read more

I came with two friends of mine (one of them was trying out dresses). The experience in the beginning wasn't too bad, but it was after my friend found her dress that the consultant, Maureen, raised her voice at me and spoke to me in a demeaning way and it was honestly embarrassing. After my friend found her dress and was getting ready to pay for it, we were talking about finding veils. I told her that she had time to find a veil because I honestly didn't think that it took time for veils to be ordered/shipped. But once I said that, the consultant raised her voice and said, "Stop saying that she has time! She doesn't have time!" I honestly thought that was so rude and disrespectful and it was truly embarrassing as she did it in front of my friends and other staff were there, and so was another party not too far by. I could've easily responded back but decided not to because I didn't want to ruin my friends moment and didn't want it to be awkward. To make it worse, as I was talking with another friend, and the soon-to-be-bride was at the register talking to the consultant, the consultant was talking to her about how long dresses can take to get to the store after ordering (despite her dress being in stock), and she was looking straight at me and trying to make a point. I thought that was very immature and petty and truly disgusting. She could've handled it very differently by taking me to the side and telling me to not make certain comments to the bride about having time to order a veil, or even saying it in a normal tone and respectful way at that moment, rather than embarrass me in front of others. This is an update on my refund from David's Bridal. I wish the bad experience ended after my first review but am now on the 3rd and it still haunts me. A month after the district manager Geri confirmed here on Yelp that my refund has been processed, it is still no where to be seen (I canceled my purchase promptly in July). She can try blaming my bank for not posting it timely but I spoke to Chase yesterday and they have not seen or heard anything about it. And when does Chase ever take more than a few days to post a credit once the merchant processed it??? Luckily I can trust Chase to resolve this issue for me soon. My takeaways and WHY YOU SHOULD NOT BUY FROM THIS STORE: 1. Sale associates are pushy, not trained properly and/or they could be lying to your face. (I'd like to think the associate wasn't well trained in my case but Geri assured me that she knew about the no deposit policy while telling me otherwise) 2. They won't refund your money when you rightfully changed your mind. If you got into a similar situation, just talk to your bank/credit card company. 3. I went through a variety of emotions with my experience at David's Bridal in Paramus. Buying the wedding dress was great! The store was deserted on a Monday afternoon. I received 100% attention from my sales associate, Thea. I strongly recommend going on a weekday and never on a Saturday. Due to the volume, the sales associates seem to cater to two brides on Saturdays. Since David's Bridal cannot store your dress, I held onto it until I was ready for alterations. Even though my wedding was in November, I chose to start my alterations 4 months early in July just in case something went wrong. I am really happy I did. My dress is lacy and had a couple of layers so my alterations were more than I anticipated. All brides I have spoken to have been quite surprised with their alterations cost. David's Bridal requires you to pay the entire amount at your first fitting. My logic like most brides was that it's okay to pay extra to ensure your alterations are done right. The seamstress guaranteed my dress would be ready at my next appointment occurring at the end of August. When I came in for my second fitting, I was very surprised to find my dress still had pins throughout. I was disappointed but didn't cause a big fuss. Come my third fitting at the end of September, I found my dress was not steamed and had quality issues. There were several holes throughout (more than 8) and the bottom was not cut even. The seamstress dept came up with several excuses claiming it was the machine's fault and it would be fixed by next appointment. I was not thrilled about coming in for a fourth fitting so I asked to speak to the manager who I found out later they never called. My mom ended up getting the store manager. Once I spoke with the manager, Jennifer, she seemed to understand my situation and reconciled it very professionally. I was reimbursed for a good amount of my alterations. My refund was processed within 2 weeks. A week later, I had my fourth fitting and the dress was absolutely breathtaking! Overall the cost was very reasonable compared to a private bridal boutique. My recommendation to other brides is to start your alterations early, bring your pink alterations receipt to every fitting and make sure you really look at the dress in their fitting room before you sign the paper and take it home. read more

With bridal reviews, I think you have to remember what kind of bride writes it. I am pretty laid back and was not interested in looking for the Perfect Dress amongst thousands, so David's Bridal was not terrible. After all, one does not go to David's Bridal for quality because it is a polyester world. However, they have a huge inventory so you can walk out with a gown at the end of the hour. Consultant Rita made my experience pain free. Although I found my dress elsewhere, David's Bridal is a good place for every bride to try on many styles and compare from that price point. hahaha everyone reviewing this place makes it clear she did NOT get her wedding dress at DB. read more

I'm surprised by the low reviews for this place... I had a pretty good experience. They don't let you look through the dresses yourself, although to be honest I enjoyed the personal attention of the store associate who brought me dresses as needed and made additional suggestions. I even found a maybe dress, which was pretty great given that it was my first day out looking (although not the first store I visited). The associate who helped me was extremely friendly and helpful, and made my experience enjoyable. They did try to up sell me on additional services a couple of times (photography, etc.) but the sales pressure was not unacceptable or out-of-the-ordinary. Yes, it's a chain store, but for me this place represents the good things about chain stores (well-staffed, friendly, no pressure, broad range of styles and sizes) rather than the bad... I will mention I went on a Friday afternoon, which is probably a really good time go if you can. I didn't need an appointment and was upstairs trying on dresses within a half hour of arriving. read more
