I am not a regular shopper at DSW but walked in here to do an online return. I was amazed to see how big the store is, with vast variety, huge inventory and products beyond shoes, like socks, accessories, scarf, bags and more. First floor is mainly women and some kids shoes. Second floor is men and clearance items. Sizes are easy to find as they are stored right under the display item. Prices decent. There were additional discounts for Black Friday. I found the store to be very neat and tidy. They had lots of people in the store and they were equally staffed to handle the rush in checkout lane. At this location, we had an exceptional shopping experience. We sought to purchase a shoe that was not available in our desired size. I approached the checkout counter, where I encountered Kymora, who was attempting to assist me. She contacted another location in Wayne, but the representative there did not thoroughly check and informed Kymora that the shoe was not available. This was surprising, as Kymora had verified its availability on their database. She promptly informed manager Kaitlin of the situation, and Kaitlin promptly took action by calling the other location back to ensure a proper check. To our delight, they did have the shoe in stock and agreed to hold it for us. I commend Kaitlin's professionalism and her dedication to accommodating our request. She went above and beyond. Additionally, I observed her effective management style, as everyone in her team was friendly and professional. The store itself was well-organized and clean. Wow, how have I never been to a DSW before? So many options! As soon as you walk in, you're almost overwhelmed with all the options. The first floor is all women's, one side sneakers and the other heels and sandals. The second floor includes clearance and a pretty decent men's section too. Everything was very clean, neatly organized too. The only thing I noticed is that what they have out is it. If they're out of a size you can order it online and they'll ship it to the store for you to pick up. Not super inconvenient but if you want something on the spot you might have to wait a few business days. I can see why they run out of shoes quickly, they're very busy. Interesting store with lots of choices. The challenge? Going there on a weekend and sorting through the mountains of boxes on the ground. The store was such a disaster that I saw a young boy actually "playing" by cleaning up the aisle and putting the boxes away. I saw two employees working. This store used to have problems with customer service, but now it's got a great manager and her team is great, too. If it hadn't been for excellent customer service by Brianna, we would have left empty-handed AND frustrated by an item with no price tag. Not only did she find the price, she coordinated the price with the manager so that when we checked out, there was no need to explain again. A very rare pleasant retail experience. Just know that if your toddler has to go to the restroom while you are shopping they will NOT give you access. The bathrooms need a code and while my toddler was screaming he had to pee- the DSW employees refused to give us access to use it because "it's only for employees". Thankfully we made it outside just in time for him to pee on the bushes infront. I'm sure that's wayyyy better than allowing a toddler to use their restroom. The customer service in this place is a joke. The person at the register falsely entered my email and told me that my discount was applied when I corrected her she told me it went through and she couldn't do anything more. Absolutely the worst store of any kind I've ever been in. The store on a Tuesday afternoon at 1pm, looked as if it had been robbed and ransacked. Plus dirty! Garbage on the floors, papers, wrappers, gum and other crap. Shoes out of boxes and boxes in every aisle not put away and piles stacked everywhere. Even the shoe boxes in their compartments were all messed up, open and sideways. And the cherry of it all...the freaking smelly garbage can in the middle of store! Wtf is wrong with you people??!! This place is a nightmare every time I come here. Long lines - never moves and don't ever ask a question otherwise you get an attitude. I try to avoid the Paramus location like the plague but needed to get a particular pair of shoes quickly for my child and ordered for pick up for the first time. I went into the store not sure if there was a specific pick up area like most stores have and when I asked the older man working here he immediately gave me an attitude and told me to "blame the pandemic". All I asked was "for pickup do you still have to wait on the regular line?" A simple "no, sorry, it's just one line" would have sufficed. Unbelievably rude. read more

When you get to the line , it's a standstill even with three people, and it's not just once it's ALWAYS. One of the customers in line behind me asked the manager working the aisles if she could call up another employee to help out. I like shopping with dsw online but sometimes online shopping can be deceiving. The shoe arrives and the colors and/or fit isn't what I expected. Thank goodness there's a dsw store nearby where I live. I come here often to see what sales they have and usually hit the clearance aisle. Most times, I find a good pair of boots and sneakers for reasonable price. Today, I looked for a new pair of uggs. It was on sale for $99 for the mini boot. They don't have my size in store so will order online. The other boots I find it cheaper to purchase them at Nordstrom or Macy's (plus Nordstrom has a wonderful warranty and return policy. Macy's may allow you to use their family and friend coupons depending on the show brand) Getting back to dsw, yes, I find good sales at times. You just have to be at the right place and right time. I do notice that not all dsw priced their items the same price. The best branch is located in Edison nearby Menlo Mall. If you love dsw, open the a free membership club account to collect points. You get coupons on the points collected and can redeem the coupon on your next purchase. Plus, they always mail you a birthday coupon. Love DSW! . Huge inventory, massive selection and variety with many high end designer brand names such as: Madden Girl, Joseph Seibel, Joan & David, Cole Haan, Etienne Aigner, etc, etc. My favorite part though is the rewards program. You receive a $10 coupon just for signing up. Then, every 1,500 points you earn, you get another $10 coupon. You will get 10 points per dollar on regular prices items, and 5 points per dollar on clearance prices items. I registered online and I can keep track of my points. Recently, when I received my "coupon" in the mail, I had the option of scanning it to my Iphone so I didn't have to remember to bring the paper coupon to the store, I can just show my scanned coupon at the register. Love living in the 21st century!! lol When I initially signed up for the rewards program in the store, my "paperwork" wasn't processed correctly so I called customer service. Not only was the rep I spoke with the nicest human being ever birthed, but because of the error, she awarded me 500 extra bonus points! I also love that if they don't have your size at the store you go to, just go online....and since you are a rewards member, they will ship your shoes for free. I had the worst service here. I used the "online order" option to pick up in store. When I arrived at the store the shoe box was completely torn apart and when I asked for a new box they said "we don't have another one" I then proceeded to check out the shoe and saw there was a scuff on the shoe. I asked is there anything to do to get a new pair and the worker told me "this is the only pair we have they were in clearance." (When I did not pay a discounted price for these slippers.) Today, I received the "best customer service" in my entire life at DSW, located in Paramus, NJ. To make it short, I was at the register, trying to order 2 shoes with my size which they didn't have, and I had $100 gift VISA card. The problem was that the register won't recognize this gift card. An associate helped me at first and when it got complicated, a manager name "Bari" came and started helping me out. She was phenomenal. She tried three ways (trying to run it as gift card, visa card, and as debit card) and it didn't work. But! we found a way and it was to buy DSW gift card with that gift VISA card and use it for my final transaction. And everything worked out perfectly. I am blown away by FOUR qualities that Bari had. 1. Excellent Attitude - She was NOT rolling her eyes and passive aggressively sent a signal like, "Why did you come to our store with this card, I hate you!!" She was genuinely there to help me and work this out. 2. Excellent Communication Skill - Whenever she did something, she always let me know and what she is trying and why she is trying what she is trying. 3. Excellent Managing - Even when she was helping me, she was "managing" the entire store through the earphone she had. She was giving orders to other associates in the store and directing them what to do. And she did that to the point it would not bother my transaction. 4. Excellent Work - She really knew how to work the register system. Let's be real. Part of the customer service is being nice but what good is it if the service doesn't get anything done? Bari was very smart and at the end, I was able to put an order for my two shoes and use that $100 gift VISA card. AND, the manager gave me 10% additional discount for the time I waited. Trust me, I don't usually write review like this. Who does this often? But I really felt like Bari deserved this review. I love this DSW location in Paramus. DSW in Paramus offers a wide variety of shoes for both men & women. The first floor typically has in-season shoes (i.e. wedges for summer, boots for fall) which takes up about half of the floor and dress shoes for women on the other half. There is a VERY large selection of each. The first floor also has a small section of accessories (purses, jewelry, wallets, socks, etc). The second floor includes sneakers for men & women, a large clearance section and the men's section. It's worth checking out the clearance section when you go- you never know what you'll find! The store is always clean & organized (which is surprising due to the amount of crazed shoe-hunters digging through boxes) and the staff is very friendly! Shout out to Jeanine who is super friendly and helpful! She was working the last two times I was here and was just a pleasure. The only time to shop here is during any promo. If you're seriously looking to upgrade your shoe game, like going from Bostonian to Mercanti, then DSW is where you make that transition. I went to buy a pair of shoes for an event, someone told me to go to DWS for great prices. I did not find fantastic pricing but what I found was no one in the dept. to help me. There were signs stating to ask for help if you can not find your correct shoe size . Where is the help?!? So I find a pair of shoes a size larger (hoping they fit) and go to the register. There was a sign stating line starts here, and guess what the line started some place else! So I waited, and found out two out of the three registers were doing returns. I waited 10 minutes and left.
