I went there last month (December 2013) and wow was it the worse experience I've had at all the places I went to dress shopping. I had an appointment and arrived 15 minutes earlier. Right when I walked in, I had to wait for 20 minutes to be "checked in". After the lady finally asked me for my name and my appointment time, she told me to go just go look around the store and pull dresses because they did not have any consultants available yet. Ok so I pulled the dresses I liked (took 20 minutes) I already had all the styles I wanted to try on. There was still no consultant available or dressing room. So 40 minutes later someone FINALLY came to "help" me and let me try on the dresses. All the consultant really did was show me to my dressing room and left. MY sister had to chase dress clips to clip on my dress and chase the consultant to get me a veil. After she brought me the veil she disappeared again. Then after that, we did not see her again for the rest of my appointment. David's Bridal has affordable dresses but they really lack on costumer service. I was at David's bridal in Dedham as a walk-in today. My best friend is getting married in a month and just set the date. She is out of state and is having a destination wedding. The staff was so helpful when they didn't have a dress they looked everywhere! The called many stores and found the dress the bring picked via text! They were even. Willing to hold it for me to go try it on tomorrow. They really went above and beyond. Thank you for making this easier than I thought it could be. read more

I recently made an appointment with David's Bridal in Dedham, MA as I was in search of my wedding gown - let me say up front my experience was horrific. Going into the appointment I was hopeful that I might find something as the chain is known for carrying many different styles and sizes, but that's far from the experience I had at this store. I would never recommend David's Bridal to another bride-to-be. I was assigned a sales associate who asked what style dress I had in mind, and when I mentioned an illusion neckline she had no clue what that was... My first red flag. She then let my mom, sister (MOH), and I pick out a few dresses in the first 2 isles of the store. She carried 2 of the dresses to the back fitting room leaving myself, my mom, and sister to bring the rest. She was eager to get us into the fitting room, and made mention that we had enough dresses for now (at this point we had picked about 6 or 7 dresses) needless to say I never had a chance to see what the rest of the store had to offer other than those first 2 isles. We were put in a tiny fitting room with no place for my mom and sister to sit, but there was really no time for that since they had to help me into every single dress... I thought that's what the sales associate was for, but she was MIA the majority of the time I was trying on. Red flag #2. I had no luck with the 6 or 7 dresses we picked out, and when the sales associate finally re-appeared she explained that they only had "so many dresses in my size" - leaving me to feel completely discouraged. She offered to pick out a few more dresses she thought I would like, and returned with dresses that were not even remotely close to the style dress I had talked to her about at the beginning of my appointment. I was willing to try different styles, but the dresses she picked not only looked awful on the hanger, but they looked terrible on! Red flag #3. Finally after about 2 hours of frustration in the store, we called it quits. My mother, sister, and I were literally left to hang up every dress I tried on and were about to walk out of the store when our sales associate re-appeared one last time to ask which 2 dresses were my favorite... Are you serious?! You wouldn't have to ask if you had helped during ANY of my appointment! I was furious. Leaving David's Bridal completely disheartened and thinking that I would never have "the" bridal gown experience that everyone talks about, we then drove to Marry & Tux in Nashua, NH (http://marryandtuxbridal.com/). There I not only found my gorgeous gown, I found incredibly kind sales associates that helped me into every dress I tried on, and made me feel like a beautiful bride! I ordered online. I know for a FACT that I can be put into a junior's 13, tight and a little uncomfortably snug, but all the same. I ordered a women's 16. Cannot get the zipper up. I realize all clothing brands are different on sizing, but really? That's outrageous! Now it's 3 days before the event, shipping came late, and I can't fit into the stupid dress. Well, I bought my gown somewhere else. I went to davids to pick out dresses for my girls, I was assigned Emily she cared about every detail about my wedding so my girls looked perfect in the photos. She also made sure all my requests were met and the dresses were respectful for my culture. She helped some of my girls get dresses that fit their budget and feel comfortable because they were top heavy. She was great when answering questions and helping my girls of sizes 2 - 18 perfectly. She was kind and wasn't pushy in anyway. However an OLDER women kept jumping in pushing SHOES on us when I already explained I had shoes picked out for them somewhere else. Emily understood, but not this women ! I wish they realized consultants shouldn't jump into other parties conversations BECAUSE THEY HAVE NO IDEA What they are talking about. What impressed me the most was she gave my tips on center pieces, cake ideas, and how to make my maid of honor stand out while wearing the same dress as everyone else. I can see why the store gets bad reviews, because they interrupt the consultants through the HORRIBLE OBNOXIOUS INTERCOM, I cant tell you how many times Emily was called to the desk, when she was already working with 2 people and my group of girls. She didn't neglect me or her other clients at all, just made us wait the most..... I would say 5 Minutes if that. ! I went in not knowing style, length, color ANYTHING. And this young girl got it all down for me and my 5 girls within and hour and a half. She got us everything we needed always with a smile and didn't give up. I stopped here by chance as I drove by one day. I had never planned to make a purchase from David's but I was curious. They were polite enough to allow me in without an appointment but that was about it. I was harrassed constantly about filling in all of the pertinent details about my wedding, location, grooms name, plus giving them my email, phone number, and home address... JUST TO LOOK. (i have received LOTS OF SPAM NOW) I did look and picked up two dresses to try on. No one helped me. No one asked if I needed anything. I had the mother and daughter next to me in the changing area giving me feedback and zip me up. I was completely ignored. I finally tracked down a sales agent to find about the price of the one I ended up REALLY loving. She told me the price and said that today was the last day of the sale to get 20% off... so I better buy it NOW! I really did love the dress so I bought it. But when I go to the counter to pay for it, that particular one was NOT on sale so I had to pay full price. That was back in July. I just yesterday, Oct 12, received a call that I had 5 days to pick up my dress or they were sending it back... "because they are not in the business of dress storage." I asked if I could pick it up in two weeks (as I am leaving the country tomorrow.) He complained that the dress has been sitting there waiting for me since JULY. But they did not bother to call me until YESTERDAY. So I agree to pay shipping to a friends house. Yet when we were talking I realized he kept talking about my Vera Wang dress... but I did not buy a Vera Wang. So I had him double check, and sure enough he was ready to send me the wrong one. I had to get my receipt and tell him which dress I really did purchase and need shipped to me. We will see. I am not impressed. read more

Horrible experience. I went here to just get a veil, thank god I didn't even think to get my dress here! I started out being told to wait in a line to look at veils instead of browsing on my own. after 10 minutes I got to the counter, told them that I wanted a veil and then was told to go look at them on my own. Oh great! As I am looking over the dismal selection of limp veils a sales woman approaches and asks if she can help. I tell her I want a two tier, ivory veil. She tells me that they don't have 2 tier, so I'd have to buy 2 veils and wear them together. I pick out a veil I like and she goes out back (For 10 minutes) to see if they have it in stock. Nope. I pick another (these are the only 2 cathedral length on the rack) and again 10 minutes and she comes back empty handed. She tells me that they can order them for me and because I didn't really like them anyway I tell her thanks but no thanks. Suddenly she says "Oh, there's a few more over here..." She brings me to another section and of course there is the 2 tier veil I wanted. I actually really like this one and despite being lied to I let her go check stock again because I really want this one. Of course they need to order it. I told her I live an hour away and don't want to come back nor do I think I should have to pay $15 for them to send it to me since it's not my fault they have no stock. I ask her if I can buy it on their website, she assures me that I cannot so I place the order. I go home and of course it is the first veil to pop up on their site and the website offers FREE shipping! I was so angry I called to cancel the order and was told I would have to come back to the store to cancel and would have to get store credit!! This place is just awful with a bunch of cheap and tacky merchandise sold by liars trying to get all the commission they can. read more

I'm a bride preparing for her wedding. Take this with a grain of salt, as I'm only 2 months away from my date, but if you're reading my review it means you're probably bride too, getting ready to shop for a dress. You'll be in my place eventually. This particular store can only be described as dirty looking. It's old, on top of Rt 1 and the building looks like it's seen better days, both inside and out. It just looks tired in there. Not the staff's fault. What is the staff's fault is their general demeanor and lack of organization. You could wait for your appointment, but that can happen in any salon. Crazy brides make appointments run over. HOWEVER, how the staff handles it is a sign of refinement and there is none here. If something goes offline you can tell because the manager has a befuddled look on her face and walks in circles. Just let your customers know that it might be a bit of wait because there's an emergency, you're unexpectedly short staffed, an appointment ran way over... WHATEVER. Just let us know you're handling the situation... letting people sit and wait while purposefully avoiding eye contact or communication is NOT ok. I tried on dresses here and was not impressed with my consultant. Like a prior reviewer she couldn't help in terms of style with my body type, had a fairly sullen look on her face the entire time, didn't smile once. That was back in November. I liked some dresses but felt compelled to go elsewhere because she was just not that helpful. Wouldn't you know I had a much more pleasant experience elsewhere and spent my money there. Tsk tsk. Well I saw her again today when I stopped in to get lingerie and she was the same exact way in another appointment. Yikes, almost feel bad for her if she's eternally miserable. I think she could probably be good, but it may have something to do with the way the place is run. As far as dropping in, I might have been wrong to do that (didn't think lingerie required an appointment). Thank you for squeezing me in. However after the befuddled manager tossed some bras at me that were the wrong size, no advice and promptly left, I tried them on. Well I tried one on, because upon inspection the second item was so filthy on the inside I couldn't bear the idea of putting it against my bare skin. SOOOOOOOOOO gross. Big surprise, they didn't fit and I handed them to a consultant passing by (she was much more pleasant). I told her they were filthy, and she said "well they're just samples." Doesn't matter, get a new sample for your store. When there's visible brown streaks on the inside of a bra, that's vomit worthy. During my entire visit the phone rang non stop (no one was answering it) and some poor women came to pick up their items they had placed on hold which the store had put back already. I could tell they were upset and no one apologized. It was just "Oh well." I went elsewhere today to get the lingerie and had a much better experience. I know this isn't their specialty but every experience has to count. I don't want to bash DB. They have a good market share with dresses and have so many options, plus I have a lot of friends who have had good experiences... but very likely at other stores. I was in another DB a few years ago and the store looked wonderful and the staff was cheerful and excited to help. My advice is avoid the Dedham location. read more

Avoid this place at all costs!!! Especially for alterations. I paid a total of $160 in alterations, went in three times and they could not get it right. They also almost ruined my dress in the process of trying to fix all their mistakes! I ended up taking my dress to a REAL seamstress on Newbury St. and she fixed all the mistakes for $40! BTW she was horrified at what Davids Bridal had done to my dress. Besides all this, the staff is rude and not helpful at all- they act like you are annoying them by being in their store giving them business. read more

I have been in this store several times recently looking for various things for my wedding. Their customer service is a bit terrible, and they almost always treat you like they're too busy to help you. In fact, they probably are. I have never seen a store so understaffed on a regular basis. I bought my wedding shoes online and brought them to the store to be dyed on Dec. 15, 2013. They told me they would be ready to pick up Jan. 31st. I stopped by on Jan. 23rd since I was in the neighborhood, just to see if they were ready early and they said no. Actually, the woman who checked for me acted totally put out by my inquiry, went into the back room and checked, then came out and said they weren't ready as she walked right past me. So I waited until today, Jan. 31st and called to see if they were ready. After twenty minutes on hold I was told they weren't ready. I asked why, since they had six weeks to dye them, and they responded with "what time were you supposed to pick them up?" Then another employee got on the phone and said they would be ready later today. I asked what time and she said "well, when do you want to pick them up?" I said " I was hoping to come now." And she said they're not dry yet, so they will be damp when you pick them up but you can come. I could be wrong, but I got the impression they dipped the shoes in the dye while I was on hold. So now I am waiting to pick them up, since I would like them to be dry and to not mess them up the second I get them. If you are looking for a good dress shopping experience, I would highly recommend Alfred Angelo, just down the street from this David's Bridal. You will get 100% of your consultant's attention, and their dresses are of much higher quality at a comparable price. read more

If there was a way to give negative stars I would. Pretty much everything that was said in the other reviews..,. Had an appointment but that was useless since they didn't even have it in the system. I told the lady I even had a confirmation email cause I scheduled online but she HAD to see the email to make sure I was telling the truth. My appointment was for 3:30pm and I was only called at 4:30. This very rushed lady told me to pick three dresses and they only had two of them(very disappointing because I really wanted to try on the third one). I thought she was gonna be the one helping me and instead she brought me to the dressing room with the dresses and told me SOMEONE ELSE was gonna help me with that. I waited another 15 minutes until the lady who was helping these other two girls asked me IF I wanted her to help me?? WTF??? Of course I want someone to help me. Isn't that what I'm here for?? She started sort of helping me but would be gone most of the time helping the other girl which I'm ok with cause she was there first. But the last straw for me was when I told her that I wasn't buying the dress that day. She freaking DISSAPEARED!! Didn't even help me get out of the last dress. Honestly I had a waaaaay better experience at Alfred Angelo across the street. Don't go to this David's Bridal. Try the one in Denver's, it is much nicer and organized and they don't overbook appointments. read more

Note: this is most likely just part 1 of my DB review (wedding dress purchase), since I will also probably be getting bridesmaids dresses and alterations done here. After reading all the reviews beforehand I was nervous about going here. But I decided to give it a try because I didn't really know where else to start, am on a budget and wasn't looking for anything super upscale, and had been to a (different) David's Bridal before as a bridesmaid and had had a decent enough experience. Also, since my bridesmaids are spread around the country, I figured using a chain like this would be the most convenient thing. To set the scene, I arrived with my mom and aunt at about 5pm on a Monday in mid-March (read: prom season), not having an appointment or any idea what to do. At first when we walked in I almost wanted to walk out again because there was a crowd of prom-dress buying girls by the door and didn't seem to be anyone who worked there around. However, within a minute or two a nice woman came and greeted me and had me sit down at a 'welcome table' and fill out my basic information. She was very pleasant and answered all my initial questions about how the process works at David's Bridal. She then set us loose to browse dresses and said someone would be with us soon. We spent about 15 minutes looking through dresses. Since I had a bridesmaid dress from here already, I knew generally what size I would be and picked out 3 dresses I was interested in trying on. I think it was made pretty easy for me because I already had a strong sense of what I wanted and had browsed their website looking for dresses I liked within my price range (under $500). There was then some confusion as to whether a consultant was going to come help me or not, so I went back to the welcome desk where another associate immediately greeted me and seemed distressed that I hadn't been helped yet. She pulled the 3 dresses I had chosen and took me back to a dressing room area somewhat crowded with prom-dress seekers. I put the dress on and then was in search of a mirror when the sales woman came back and introduced me to Janice, who would be my consultant. She immediately helped me move my things to an empty dressing room area where there were big mirrors and those pedestals to stand on. (By the way, all the dressing rooms I saw were in good condition and clean.) Janice was wonderful. I could tell that she had done this MANY times, and she was certainly going through a (slightly corny) script with me, but she was sweet, helpful, and knowledgeable. She brought me a tiara and veil to try on and while I knew she was trying to sell me the stuff, she was not overly pushy (I wasn't afraid to say no to shoes and underwear) and I think she was genuinely trying to give suggestions of what would work together. I tried on my 3 dresses, stood on the fun pedestal while she talked about the specifics of each one, and was overall very pleasantly surprised by the experience considering all the bad reviews I'd seen and the fact that I didn't have an appointment. Janice wasn't hovering over me every second--which I liked, since my mom and aunt were there too--but she was there when I needed her to answer questions, find a different veil, or help lace up a corset-backed dress. I ended up buying the third dress I tried on (it was actually the one I had seen online when I first got engaged almost 2 years ago and fell in love with!) for $350, along with the veil she had successfully sold to me (hadn't been planning on having one). The woman who cashed me out was also incredibly nice and helpful, and I didn't have to wait at all there even though there was again a crowd of prom-goers at another register. I hadn't even been planning on stopping in at the David's Bridal that day, let alone walking out of one with the wedding dress of my dreams. While there were a few moments of awkward waiting and uncertainty, my experience was still special, especially given my lack of planning for it. The one thing I would say that I think really helped my experience was that I went in having a sense of things I liked and wanted to try on after looking at their website. Also, I'm sure I got much better service on a weeknight than weekend. This might not be the type of place for some people, but it was perfect for me because it was low key, had a ton of selection, reasonable prices, and good service. I would not hesitate to recommend it to another bride with a similar mindset. read more

Obviously, these reviews reflect on when folks go and who they get. All I can say is that I had a FANTASTIC experience this past weekend. The staff were wonderful. The selection for the larger sizes was excellent (lots), and the care and attention I received was beyond great. I found the dress at a discount ($345) and when I got to the register, it was even cheaper. Being on the heavier side, the woman who helped me put me at ease (Kristey) and the styles were really flattering. Yes, you can look beautiful in a size 22, and they made me feel that way. I'm recently engaged and I have no experience whatsoever with wedding dresses, so I made the mistake of showing up at this David's Bridal by myself just to get a sense of what styles I like the most. After standing around for like 10 minutes at the front of the store, none of the employees offered me assistance. They were too busy talking among themselves or needlessly chatting with customers who were already being helped by someone else. Being a novice at this sort of thing I began to look at dresses on my own and I was not approached by a single employee for more than half an hour of browsing. Finally I choose a dress to try on and, while I'm in the dressing room, one of the employees starts to question me aggressively about trying on a dress without one of their staff. I felt humiliated and needless to say I left with my feelings hurt after being scolded in public. I had no desire to try on any of their dresses after such terrible customer service. Those employees need a serious attitude adjustment. Being there felt like being in a high school lunchroom, talked down to by cliquey "mean girls". Also, these morons allowed men to waltz in and out of the dressing room looking for whomever they arrived with. This was very uncomfortable as the curtains to the dressing rooms are cut in such a way that you can peer inside. Never going back. read more

I've never been interested in David's Bridal & during my own wedding planning, didn't even think to come here...good move on my part. I know a lot of girls who've purchased their dream dresses from DB & they were certainly beautiful, but after my one & only visit this past year, I don't care if the place was going clearance at 80% off everything, I wouldn't go back. My mother & I were looking for mother's dresses & shoes to go with my bm dress...the selection was pitiful. The so-called "MOB/MOG" section should be called the Grandmother Section instead, based on their hideous inventory. We wrestled around the bridesmaid dresses & found a lot of yuck yuck & more yuck. I was temped to go check out the bridal gown section just because it looked way bigger, but there were actual bridal consultants over there assisting clients & I didn't want to give them the wrong idea as to what we were there for...none of them helped us in the other sections. We even had to go up to the front desk a couple of times to ask questions of the woman sitting behind it, who proceeded to shout our inquiry across the front of the store to a fellow employee because she was unsure of the answer. So, my husband and I eloped last summer, but I didn't want a traditional wedding dress. I wanted something in my favorite color, purple, but I was having trouble finding any dresses in that color. And then it dawned on me--bridesmaid dresses! I didn't want to spend a lot, so I figured this would be the place. I looked at all the dresses online, confirmed that they had the color I wanted, and then went to the store to try on some dresses. I found one that I really liked, and brought it up front so I could order it. Unfortunately, since it was only about 8 weeks or so until the wedding they told me that it wouldn't get there in time unless I placed a rush order. And I was totally willing to do that, until they found out that I wasn't with a bridal party (and therefore not ordering any other dresses), and suddenly the clerk told me, "Oh, I forgot, we don't do rush orders anymore. Sorry." How's that for customer service? I ended up finding a much nicer dress, for less money, at another bridal shop. read more

Yes, the prices are rock bottom, but the shopping experience here is pretty lackluster. It's to be expected and it wasn't that bad, but the whole store was a lot smaller than I expected for such a large retailer. I didn't have the disastrous experiences I read about, and I would call my experience "fine." You should note that you cannot try any of the online dresses on before you buy them under any circumstances. Another thing is that while most dresses (of higher quality) come with plenty of material in the skirt to make it full, you need to buy lots of separate things like petticoats at David's to make it look like its supposed to. I bought my dress at VOWS in Watertown for $500. Used, but a designer dress of much higher quality and no add-ons required. read more

I found the perfect dress here. I bought the first one i tried on. The prices were also very reasonable.. I could never see myself paying $3000+ for a dress to wear for one day. I do agree the sales people werent so friendly but you have to understand 99% of the time their dealing with stressed out indecisive brides. Do what i did..create an online account with them and save some dresses to it. When you walk in they can look them all up and u can try them on right when you get there. I dont know for me this was a fine and easy expierence, just what I wanted. read more

My mom, sister and I went here one weeknight to look at bridesmaid dresses. As I have 6 in my bridal party, I wanted to narrow down the selection before bringing in everyone to make it easier! I made an appointment a month and a half in advance on a Sunday for the party of 6 and made sure to nab the first appointment of the day thinking it would be less stressful on the employees. We showed up and there was a line out the door. We were assigned a sales associate who told us there were only 2 dressing rooms available for the 6 girls-- meanwhile, I see a girl who was behind us in line who asked if she needed an appointment get in another dressing room, no problem. When the associate started asking the girls in my party what sizes they were there were a couple that did not know and needed to be measured which the associate responded with a snippy: "It's too early for this, I'll get back to you". It's your FIRST appointment of the day and it's 12:00 noon give me a break. She came back with 5 dresses for the 6 girls. I had to ask her to get another dress for my Maid of Honor to try on--we came here to try on the dresses they would be buying, not to just look at each other in different dresses. After about 45 minutes of standing around in our huddled 2 dressing room area, two girls from my party started to grab dresses themselves. I finally asked if we could use the other 2 rooms next to us that were completely vacant agreeing to get out if the people who had "reserved them" showed up. Of course, those people never showed up at all. At the end of the appointment the associate admitted it was her first time doing a big bridal party. I do sympathize but her complete unprofessionalism was ridiculous. When one of my bridesmaids went back to order her dress, they no longer had my information in their computer system with the dresses I had picked. I understand 6 girls is a bigger bridal party--but you are David's Bridal, you should be ready for this kind of thing and not make faces about it. And the fact that I called ahead and made an appointment for the first appointment of the day... I hate to complain and I normally wouldn't but I wanted others to be prepared what you're in for! I will definitely be searching for my own dress elsewhere. read more

If you can afford it, don't come here. Two stars for the vast off-the-rack selection and decent prices. The 3 missing others are for horrendous service and dishonest marketing (which, in other wedding literature I read, is not new for David's Bridal). I came to the store because of a supposed blowout "$99 dress sale" that I heard about, but once I got there, it was impossible to find the $99 dresses, which were not only scarce (I saw two or three tacky ones) but also buried/unmarked within the SEA of other poofy, white dresses. I got my dress here for a decent price ($350) on my first shopping trip, but despite their vast selection I vowed to never come back (even though with the coupons from the wedding dress purchase the bridesmaids' dresses would have been a pretty good deal). Why? I can only describe the sales service there as deplorable. My sales "consultant" Janet was wandering around helping multiple other customers at the same time, which was okay... but the worst part was just how fake and insincere she sounded. I firmly told her multiple times that I was in a hurry and was not interested, but she completely ignored me and kept pressing me to check out their discounted tiaras and other accessories - which are on sale only on the day of purchase of a wedding gown. Next I told her not to enter the bridesmaids' dresses that my bridesmaids had looked at into the computer system, because I already knew that I wouldn't come back. Even though I said multiple times how much of a hurry I was in, she refused to make my purchase for the wedding gown until she entered each one. These small things, though, merely reflected the overall ambience of not caring about the customer. Never before have I been in a store in which I could so assuredly know that I was not a person, only a checkbook. read more

So, I must say that I was not looking forward to DB, I guess because I had my own misconceptions and wanted the "Kleinfield experience"; however, my pocket book dictated otherwise. I was pleasantly greeted by the woman in front who graciously printed out the pics of the dresses I wanted to try on (yes, please do this to have some direction with your consultant). I then was lead in the back to check out some dresses until my consultant came (T-minus 5 mins) My consultant was Patty, she was GREAT!! I love her. I felt that she really cared about me finding "the dress" and didn't give any attitude to any of my requests. I did not end up purchasing the 1st day, as I wanted to check out a couple of places more (including high end bridal stores on Newbury...so I do have much to compare my DB experience to...felt more pressured to purchase at these places). Nonetheless, I ended up coming back to DB a week later to try on a couple more dresses, and without hesitation they requested Patty to be my consultant again (which was GREAT since she knew my style and what I was looking for!) I ended up finding "the dress" and loooooooooooved it (I cried and I don't cry)!! I loved Patty's attention to detail, her overall care (as I was down to the wire to find the dress, completely stressed since my mother was not able to be there....and NEEDED to purchase a dress ASAP), and the other staff at DB were just so nice and accommodating, I felt like I knew them forever. I LOVE DAVIDS BRIDAL! I would encourage brides drop the misconceptions and def check them out. They really do carry beautiful dresses at a fraction of the high end stores, trust me, I checked these stores out!! AND they are super nice. Check them out my yelp brides! read more

WORST PLACE EVER! Don't come here. My friend came here for a prom dress, first off the selection was SCARCE. then when we tried to try on the dress we had to wait 30 mins before someone told us we have to sign in to try on the dress. After waiting another 30 mins we went up to the staff and asked how much longer, she says Ohhh wait sorry I forgot about you. Mind you we only had 2 dresses! There were literally 30 staff working that day and half of them were just sitting on their asses doing nothing and when we asked for help, they were extremely snotty full of attitude and it was just one of the worst customer device experience ever. I SAID YES TO THE DRESS. I worked with Joy today. I had been to a few Bridal shops, (Cristina's in Andover, MA included, didn't go back because it was the most racist shop I've ever walked in) .....but today was my second visit at Davids Bridal in Dedham because I couldn't make up my mind at my first visit. With the help of Roberta at my fist visit and the amazing help of Joy and my wedding Godmother that went with me I said "YES" to a Cassini dress. Joy was very helpful in getting what I needed and made sure I saw myself from different angles and assured me of how beautiful I looked and when I doubted myself she would have me walk around and take me to different mirrors and sides, and before I left the store manager checked in with me. I got great attention for a being a busy Sunday. Cant wait to wear my dress on my big day :) :D .... If you go ask for Roberta or Joy. My two visits were worth it!!! read more

I spent two very long days here. The first time I visited, it was in the middle of a weekday and I had an appointment. DB was the last place I was visiting after checking out Vows and several smaller boutiques, and I was tired of looking and ready to make a decision soon. I had the full attention of a great consultant (I wish I remembered her name) and decided I may have found "the one." The shopping experience was overall terrific, with the consultant not pressuring me whatsoever and helping me find great options within my budget. The only problem (and reason for a docked star) is that when the dress arrived to my house it was all wrong! The fabric looked awful and the style was entirely different from how I had had it clamped down to myself in the store. I was so upset and afraid I would be stuck with it. I walked in with my dress and tried to explain the situation without crying. The staff went above and beyond to help me find a even exchange. My consultant Suzanne happily spent over 4 hours with me making sure I found the exact dress I wanted. The REAL one ended up being a Vera Wang that she picked out for me, and it was on sale for $500! Since my other dress was $850, Suzanne patiently continued to help me figure out exactly how to spend the difference while I was in the store and make sure everything I went home with I absolutely loved. She was so patient and had great taste. Thank you Suzanne! read more

UNLESS YOU WANT TO BE INSULTED AND SCREWED AROUND - FEEL FREE TO SHOP HERE! The staff is totally unprofessional, rude and careless. Our dresses have been there for months and i received no call or email from them. I asked if i had a deadline to pick it up and the staff told me it had to be soon bc my dress had already been there for months. I call repeatedly and get attitude from the staff telling me i have no email on file. I DO have an email on file bc i continuously get your crappy emails, EXCEPT for the one you didn't send about our dresses being available. The STAFF, and customer service is disgraceful. They are insulting and inconsiderate. This is not a desirable way to start celebrating a wedding. I have about 4 friends getting married in the next 2 years and NONE of them will go to David's Bridal! NONE!!! read more

I don't understand why David's gets such poor reviews. Are people just stressed out and nothing will make them happy? With that being said... here is my experience: I made an appointment for a Saturday afternoon. (It's not ideal to walk in, definitely make an appointment). When I got there 15 minutes before my appointment I was greeted by a few ladies sitting at a desk. They gave me a clipboard to verify my information. Once I did that my consultant (Patty) met with me a few minutes later. She asked me right away what I was looking for. I told her I was open to any style, but I was on a tight budget. She pulled down a few dresses and then as she was setting up the dressing room me and two of my bridesmaids started pulling more dresses down. We made our way to the dressing area. The whole place was really clean. The consultant was very helpful with helping me get dresses on and asking if I needed any shoes or garments to go with trying dresses on. I fell in love with one of the dresses and tried it on a second time. Patty asked if it was my dress and when I told her "yes", she brought over a bell for me to ring. It was a really neat experience. Once I made my wish and rang the bell I could hear cheers from throughout the store. Even though there were other girls in the store and consultants were busy helping other people, I truly felt special right then and there. My bridesmaids looked for dresses too and the consultants were helpful with them as well. All in all, I had a fantastic experience. The only reason I gave it 4 stars is because of the location. There's not a lot of parking out front and it's kind of a pain to get out of the parking lot. read more

Awful and unpleasant don't even begin to describe our experience at David's Bridal. We went to look at bridesmaids dresses so that we might find an affordable option. I called ahead because we were running 30 minutes early and they said it was okay that we come ahead of our scheduled time. When we showed up the woman was rude and barely looked at us. She told us to go look at dresses while she got us a consultant. The dresses were crammed into a small section, falling all over the place, and there wasn't a wide selection or anything close to what you find on their site. After 20 minutes, including a good 5 minutes of just standing out in the open, I went up to the woman at the front desk to tell her that we had made our selection and would like to try on the dresses. I was dismissed and told to wait. Eventually, someone came to help us. We went to the dressing area that was dirty, cramped, and full of people. The dresses were no good and the look on my bridesmaid faces turned from one that was so happy in the previous store to completely unhappy and uncomfortable. I told them to pack up and we left. Overall, the store lacked organization, customer service, friendliness, options, and cleanliness. If you have too little consultants don't tell people that they can reschedule for a different time. You couldn't pay me to go back in a David's Bridal again, especially that store. read more

I went there with my daughter to help her pick out her wedding gown. Being a little overwhelmed by all of the choices of gowns, and all....We were instantly at ease when we were fortunate enough to have Elvis work with us. He helped my daughter pick out the most beautiful gown - that looked like it was especially designed just for her! Elvis is very professional, but at the same time makes you feel as if you have known him forever. I would definitely recommend David's Bridal...But especially recommend you schedule your appointment with Elvis! read more

Very disappointing. We had a scheduled appointment and after waiting for a half hour we had to be in their face to get a consultant as they call themselves. You are harassed the minute you arrive by a skeevy videographer, which I think is really tacky to even have to deal with that. We finally get a consultant and she takes the pile of dresses that I picked out while waiting and that is the last of her. She never checked on me or was helpful in any way. Basically she could have cared less and it was obvious! Don't you people want to make a sale?? I left there totally disgusted and feel bad for brides that have to deal with your low class operation. read more

I was a David's Bridal bride in May, 2014. I fell in love with my dress on the website. When I went for my appointment to try the dress on, it was even more beautiful then in the picture. I had a wonderful experience at David's Bridal. Everyone was very friendly and helpful and made me feel very special. From having such a wonderful experience, I decided that I wanted to be part of their team. So instead of a honeymoon, I was actually interviewed for a CSR position and have been happily employed there since May 2014. read more

I went into my appointment with a terrible attitude, based on the views I had read here, especially because my appointment was at 11am on a Saturday. Based on the reviews here, I was in for a long wait, terrible service, and dresses that weren't too impressive. Well, luckily my attitude was changed quickly. I arrived about 15 minutes early and after checking in, I was sent to look around at some of the dresses with my guests while I waited for the woman that would be helping. About 20 minutes later I started my appointment with Julie. We looked at my list together and she walked me through the clearance section first to get an idea about what I was looking for and to see if they had anything that would cost a little less. We found a couple of the dresses I had on my favorites list and brought them back to the dressing room. She grabbed one of those longer bras and a petty coat to wear under everything since I hadn't brought one with me and then we began trying things on. After I tried on my first dress, she disappeared for about 15 minutes, but she wound up coming back with a few other dresses for me. The first dress I tried on wound up being THE dress, but I tried on 7 dresses, before realizing that I was going to keep on going back to the first one. The dress was a little tight in the back so I ordered a size up. My dress wound up being delivered to the store a few weeks earlier than it was supposed to and shortly after receiving my dress Julie called and left me a message checking to see how everything was going with the dress. My only complaints about the appointment are how long I had to wait in line to order my dress and the dressing rooms, which weren't very private with their curtains that barely closed. The person at the front desk was pretty slow, as was the person who helped me out at the front desk once I went to pick it up. Alterations will be a couples months. I hope they go as smoothly as finding my dress. read more

I came in on a Monday afternoon for a bridesmaid dress. I had looked at them online and already knew which ones I wanted to try on. The employee at the check-in desk gave me a considerable attitude because I didn't have an appointment. She kept saying how "busy" they were and said no one might be able to help me. When a consultant did finally come to help, she led me to a dressing room, left me there, and never came back. The rest of the dressing rooms were completely empty so I'm not sure how this store qualified as "busy." I tried on dresses by myself and chose one. I stood alone in the middle of the dressing room waiting to tell my consultant I would buy it, but she never came. Other consultants walked by while I was clearly standing around waiting for help, but they never even looked at me. After 40 minutes of this nonsense, I gave up and left. On my way out, I passed two consultants having a nice chat in the back of the store and another group of consultants standing around and talking in the front of the store. So much for busy! Horrible customer service doesn't begin to describe my experience. Brides: Do your friends a favor and pick your bridesmaid dresses out somewhere else! read more

Some of the David's Bridal locations do a better job than others. I dropped off the bridesmaid dress for a complimentary pressing 5 days before collecting it. It had not been done. I went back in 30 mins and collected the dress. No one came to me and apologized. I could not tell if they had really worked on it. I was so unimpressed. read more
