My best friend is getting married so we trekked to David's Bridal in Dedham last weekend to begin wedding/bridesmaid dress shopping. She had made an appointment at a January bridal expo for March (how did 2 months go by so fast?!). We arrived at 11:30AM on a Sunday and were turned away at the door because they open at 12. Behind the glass was a group of about 10 frenzied looking employees. I took that as a sign of things to come. We went down the road to Dunkies and returned at 12. The place was a ZOO. Parking spots were gone and there was a huge line at the door. "Ooof, thank god we have an appointment" I said. Which was good because the line of girls registering and making same-day appointments was out the door. Acccckkk. We were teamed up with Henrietta who got to work immediately on the bride. The dresses/racks are organized by size and she started with 3 for my friend and got us set up in the main dressing room. I hunkered down with my camera and stuff and waited for the runway show. My friend tried on the first three: loved 1, hated the others. I gave critical advice much to the horror of everyone in the room, I'm sure (hey, that's what the maid of honor is for, right?!) My friend decided to try on a few more, nothing clicked, so she ended up buying the one dress she loved. To the tune of $350, wicked cheap I say. Next up: moi. I tried on a bunch of dresses, sizes here are messed up I've decided but Henrietta really helped us out with them. I loved only one of the five I tried on. So much we decided on those for all the bridesmaids as well. Long story short - this is not the place I would ever shop for my wedding dress (my style is more upscale, designer, boutique type dress) but I was happy to go and support my best friend. God awful. I'm in two weddings this year, and after dealing with David's Bridal for one I can happily say that I've convinced the other bride to steer clear. I work as the Marketing Director for a women's clothing store, and would never allow my staff to be as ignorant and unhelpful as the women that work at David's Bridal. I first visited the Dedham location a couple of months ago to try on dresses for a wedding this August. My roommate and I both live in downtown Boston, and neither of us keeps a car in the city. Another bridesmaid was visiting us from out of state, so we road tripped to Dedham to face our fates. The fitting rooms were a zoo. The carpet was a mess, the staff was sloppy and disorganized, and there were children crawling around on the floor. The sales girl who was in charge of helping us fill out our order forms screwed up twice recording our sizes, and then convinced us that we need to order a size up because "so many people have tried these dresses on that they've gotten stretched out." Uh, okay... gross. We were told that they didn't know when our dresses would arrive and that they couldn't be mailed to us. After two of us had already paid, the third was told by the cashier that she needed to be measured. When she asked "why," the cashier ignored her. She asked "why?" again, and the woman said: "It's a 12-week order." The next five minutes were wasted by us asking "Why is it a 12 week order?" and the cashier responding, "You need to be measured for it." We finally decided there was some sort of communication barrier, and our friend got measured... because it's a 12-week order... only, mine wasn't, and neither was my roommate's. We're still awaiting a clarification memo on why one dress was a 12-week order, when my roommate (who wears the same size) did not have to be measured. Flash forward a few weeks and my roommate's dress arrives. She gets an e-mail from David's Bridal informing her that she has two weeks to pick up the dress, and that they won't hold it any longer than that, even though she's already paid for it. When I called to ask where mine was, they kept telling me the dress was brown and a size 10... even though I ordered a blue dress in a size 6. After this issue was finally resolved, I was informed that the dress was on a truck, but that it could arrive either within the week.... or anytime between then and April 26th-- a pretty large time window. My roommate called and asked if they might hold her dress until mine came in, they were incredibly rude to her on the phone, asked why she couldn't get in before that and treated her like an annoyance. Today, we headed out to Dedham to retrieve our dresses. Upon arrival we discovered that the dresses were of course too big... No surprise, since I tried on a four that was loose enough to be tailored, but the girl insisted I order a six anyways. We then discovered that the flower that is supposed to be attached to my roommates dress had not yet arrived. It was somehow on a different order and will take at least two weeks to come in. Explaining that we both have really tough work schedules and that someone should have let us know it was back-ordered because we could have saved ourselves a trip, the woman shrugged and said: "That's the way it is for the other girls in the wedding party too." The other girls live in other cities though, and have David's Bridal locations at easier access. When we asked if they would mind mailing us the flowers, the woman informed us that shipping was $15. Now, $15 is not a lot of money... but it's 150% of the cost of the flower... for it to be shipped less than 25 miles. We explained that to the woman and asked, given the circumstances (that it should all have been on the same order and that it was their mistake), if they might waive the shipping or hold the flower longer when it came in. Our question was met with a huffy attitude and a number of comments implying that it was our fault that the flower didn't arrive and that it wasn't her problem. Here's where it is THEIR problem though, I don't respond well to poor customer service. I'm 22, have two younger sisters, a sizable social media following, a number of friends getting married within the next couple of years, as well as, contact with a lot of other young women because of my job... I won't recommend David's Bridal to any of them. read more

The more weddings you're in/go to.. the quicker you get to heaven. Just an opinion. I stopped into David's Bridal because bride wanted her maids to wear shoes that were "Apple" red. The dyeables look on the cheaper side, so I was on the excited side when I saw shoes that were already the shade she wanted. Can they do that with every shade? At least one shoe available in whatever style so that you don't have to wait and have them dyed? Oh no.. that would make things easy! They'd be for chicas like me that don't care so much about style because they're totally taking their shoes off right after the ceremony. Anyway.. I didn't deal much with the workers.. but like most David's Bridals.. they didn't seem to happy to be there. Well, except for one sassy woman in the back who complimented me on my sweatpants/bride shoe combo. She gets 2 stars. Otherwise.. I hope I don't have to come back for awhile. Oh.. and thanks to Alli T. for restraining me from buying the "Apple" red percussion set next door at Daddy's. I went here not expecting much from the previous reviews, but let me tell you, I was blown away by my experience here. I did stop in on a weekday which I think helped my experience, and I would suggest this if possible, since the consultant did say weekends could be quite the mess. I worked with Dee, who is an absolute pleasure. To start, she had already printed out some of the dresses I marked as favorites in my profile, and had already picked out some dresses she thought I would like, saving a ton of time. She completely listened to how I felt, and what I thought, and adjusted the dresses she brought in. If she's telling you that she's going to go out of the box in terms of what you would think you would like, go with it. After the first 4 dresses she brought me, I liked 3 of the 4. She accessorized when appropriate, and really helped make suggestions where she thought things could work well. She was working with two of us at the same time, and did a great job juggling two brides and two mothers! Neither of us had to wait long at all to try on the next dress. I had a really professional and (dare I say it), fun experience, and I walked out in under 3 hours, under budget, and really satisfied with this experience I had somewhat been dreading. I went here to order a size 2 bridesmaid dress in their color Jade. I had the sku/ID number whatever of the dress, all I needed to do was pay for it. I approached a woman sitting at the front of the store and explained this to her. After being given the most EVIL look I had ever seen, she turned her head and snapped at another employee, "Can you help this PERSON? She needs a bridesmaids dress or something." This was a year ago, but still the most memorable customer service experience I ever had. The woman was evil. When I get married, I will go elsewhere. Also, this might be common sense and not really all that related to the company itself but: If you are a bride picking the bridesmaids dresses for your bridal party, please see the dresses in person, and don't just base it off the website. The color always will look different in person. Our bride picked the color off the computer and the grooms vests didn't match ours due to her mistake, and neither did any of the wedding decor. ... read more

I had an appointment, Saturday January 17th at this store. It was a Saturday in January so I understand that it was an overwhelmingly busy time to have an appointment for trying on wedding dresses but the experience was absolutely horrendous and this store is an embarrassment. I knew going into the appointment that it was going to be busy at the store and that the person I would be working with would have another bride that she was assisting at the same time. When I arrived I was told that appointments were running behind schedule but was not given any more information than that. An hour after we'd arrived and 45 minutes after my appointment was supposed to start my sister inquired very politely about where we were on the list and how much longer we might need to wait. The response from the employee was a nasty "I told your sister she wouldn't get in right at 1pm." We almost left the store. We should have left the store. When we finally met our consultant (I'm using that term loosely) she did little more than carry the dresses I'd already picked out into a tiny dressing room and then left. She never asked when I was getting married, where I was getting married or what my wedding was going to be like. While I liked the dress I came into the store excited about I will never give this company any of my money. I got no assistance from anyone at the store with anything that I wasn't capable of doing on my own. I know they are a large chain and are very busy, and I know they make a lot of money so perhaps they're not concerned with making people feel welcome. But the attitude the staff presented was embarrassing. It's not that hard to make people feel welcome and like they're being served. That was the exact opposite of what I experienced. read more

The only redeeming factor about this David's Bridal is the nice women working in alterations. Having been in two weddings in the past two months, not only am I tired of the whole gown-fitting, shower-planning, spending-tons-of-money thing, but I'm really done with this David's Bridal. I decided to get both bridesmaid gowns, the shoes and the alterations done here, and every time I went in I found the employees to be generally unhappy, curt and prepared to make everyone wait for long periods of time. You'll realize pretty quick that you're on their clock, not yours. I had to go back one last time recently to pick up some shoes. When I first ordered the shoes -- which I was discouraged from doing because they want so badly to sell off all the beat-up shoes they have in the store that every girl and her mother has tried on -- I was told I would be contacted when they arrived to the store. I had forgotten about them and frantically called the place with just a few days to go before the wedding, almost certain the shoes were not going to be found. The woman on the phone put me on hold for 10 minutes (about average wait time for a David's Bridal call or check-out line), found the shoes and said I could come get them. (Nice that they called ME.) When I got there, I had to wait in line just to ask for the shoes and then wait another five minutes for a person not working behind the counter to go find them. They really need a triage to get people in and out of there quicker -- and some lessons in customer service. read more

Yelp reviews were one of the reasons I avoided David's Bridal, instead visiting a number of other local boutiques. It was my mother who finally talked me into visiting David's, because my cousin had gotten her dress there and had been raving about it. I thought they were very nice and down to earth, and I the third dress I tried on was just perfect -- I liked it much better than the dozens of other dresses I had tried on at the smaller stores, all of which were at least double the price of the dress at David's. The dress arrived on time, and the consultants were very nice and helpful both times I visited. It is a bit of a factory, and you lose the local/idiosyncratic/designer charm of the smaller places. But what can I say? I had a great experience, and of the $1000 I had budgeted for a dress, I only spent $399. I'm very happy with it. read more

I'm confused by all these bad experiences people had... I actually had a pretty good time there. I was cost conscious and was looking for something simple. I found just what I wanted and my dress was perfect! We also ordered my veil, the undergarments, and the bridesmaids' dresses and shoes through them. The only caution I would have is that if you order bridesmaids' dresses, make sure you have your bridesmaids measured and leave plenty of time for ordering and tailoring. Trying on the samples isn't a good way to check size, because lots of bigger girls all try to cram themselves into size 2 and then you end up with samples that are really stretched out. This happened to one of my bridesmaids, where she tried on a 2 and it fit generously, and when it came in, she couldn't even get into it. We ended up getting a 4 that was also too small but had to suffice - I think a 6 would have been best but it was already the day before the wedding (!) read more

It might have something to do with the fact that this was my third stop of three wedding dress appointments, but I was pretty disappointed with my experience and was anxious to get out of there. My appointment was at 3:30pm - I got there a little too early and was told it would be a bit of a wait so I came back closer to my appointment time. Well - my mom and I ended up having to wait another 40 minutes before we were assigned a "back-up" consultant who didn't really know what she was doing, and didn't speak a lot of English. Our official consultant, Suzanne was around sort of, but was running around crazy helping two other brides at once. In addition, I was shoved into two dressing rooms and didn't realize until the last dress I tried that there is a big pedestal area with multiple mirrors to get a really good look at the dress. I was happy to try on the pre-selected dresses I found online, but they just weren't the same quality in person like the designer dresses I tried on in wedding boutique shops. For example, the lace corset ballgown dress I was excited to try on, had a zip up followed by a corset. The consultant said to me that they will all be like that (which was not true, because one of the dresses I had pre-selected was a real corset). When I was happy with at least one of them, but just unsure of the fit on my boobs, I felt like the seamstress and the consultant were teaming up on me and saying that it's how the corset is tied and if I had a corset bra it would fit better, etc. I found it all frustrating because I had already found some beautiful sample size dresses in other dress shops where I didn't feel I needed a "corset bra" to make it work. I was pretty excited about this appointment especially since the dresses are so affordable and had the styles that I want, but I felt so anxious and overwhelmed here, it just ruined my experience and wanted to get out of there as fast as possible. I'm realizing now that I can get a much better quality dress and just an overall more pleasant experience for LESS money buying a sample size in a bridal shop than at David's Bridal. read more

Absolutely the WORST customer service I've ever experienced!!! I went there on Friday to try on bridal gowns, my sister and my mom went with me. I called a few days in advance to book an appointment. When we arrived, the ladies in the front desk pretty ignore us, no smiles, no greeting, nada. I sat down at the customer service table and told the lady at the desk that I have an appointment at 7pm --- the first thing they did was trying to sell me things..."We have photographers, videographers, invitations...you want to look at those now??" I was like --- "Maybe, but I want to find my gown first." ---They were NOT friendly... The person who was supposed to help me with my appointment name is Kristy, she was NOT helpful at all...and she was just plain RUDE!!! We ask her nicely that we would like to see the following dresses (I did my research in advance and I know I want to try different styles to see which one is the best fitted)...She just left the dresses on the hanger then just sat there with her arms crossed on her chest. She didn't even attempted to help me getting a dress out of the plastic cover...My mom and sister had to help me get the dresses out and help me zip up. The gowns I was trying on was very "poofy", so my mom had to put the gown on the chair first before she can help me zip up my dress...That Kristy was like "You need to put the gown on the hangers...." Excuse me?? THIS is YOUR JOB...Fine, we have manners, my mom just said "Oh, sure, sorry --- let me help my daughter in the gown first." Then when I told her I want to try on the evening gowns, she just gave us an attitude and said something like "Well, you're skinny anyway, this dress you're wearing is fine..." Then I said "But I really want to try on this evening gown, can you please get it for me?" --- Then she *roll her eyes" and said "Oops...don't come in size 2..." ---- I was speechless. The RIDICULOUS part?? She let a GUY just walk in and out of the bridal fitting room and didn't say anything!! I was half naked and she let a GUY just walk into a bridal changing room?? What the iff??? I will never go back to David's Bridal --- This is the first stop and looks like I've alrady experienced the worse. My next stop ---- I'm heading to Newbury. FYI - the gowns they have are all cheaply made, materials were scratchy, ALL the gowns I tried on (I tried on 10+) are either missing buttons or non-working zippers. Even the Vera Wang ---- Apparently they only used the design from Vera Wang, the materials and cutting are nothing like you see on the website or magazines. Awful. My friend and I made an appointment a month in advance to try on one or two bridesmaid dresses (that we had to go in store to get since they didn't sell them online). We arrived for our 1 o'clock appointment and literally waited for half an hour to see an attendant who had to reserve a fitting room for us. When we complained they told us they were just "super busy". What's the point of an appointment exactly? Finally Kathleen came over and offered to take us back even though she was already helping several other people. She appeared to be the only person in the entire store who gave a shit that we had been waiting. My friend and I tried on dresses and were ready to get out of their in 5 minutes flat. If someone had actually helped us on time, we would have been in and out insanely quickly freeing up more time for other people. I ordered my dress at the front counter and made sure to double check what they ordered numerous times since, quite frankly, no one helping me besides Kathleen appeared to have any idea what the eff was going on. It saddens me to know that I have to return here to pick up my dress. Ugh. read more

I'm not sure why there are so many negative reviews -- we had a pretty great experience. Although they were running late, everyone was very nice during our visit. Magdalena, the woman who helped us find and try on dresses knew exactly what style would look good on my body type, did not try to push a sale on me, and was more than happy to keep going back to get smaller dresses until we found my correct size -- none of the stuff I heard of in other reviews about trying to make a sale and get you to buy a larger dress. To boot, none of the staff members seemed weirded out that my fiancee is a woman and let us both try on dresses and even took photos of the two of us together so we could see how our dresses looked together. Very professional. Yes, the dressing rooms are small and not the prettiest/most private. And the dresses aren't exactly in pristine shape. But, I'm not sure what people were expecting -- this is not an upscale bridal boutique. If you are honest about what you are walking into -- a discount bridal store for those on a budget -- then you will not be disappointed by the products or the service. And, one of the staff members whispered a helpful piece of advice she wished prior brides and their entourages had heeded: "treat others kindly and with respect and you'll get treated that way back." I recently went here to order a bridesmaid dress and once again had a horrible experience. My bride told us we had to order our dresses by Sept 1 which is the date Davids Bridal gave her. I happened to be due with my 1st baby on Sept 1. So around August 16 I went to this Davids Bridal to order my dress. I went up to the woman who was at the front and told her I needed to order a bridesmaid dress. She asked if I wanted to try it on and I told her that I was 9 months pregnant so didn't really see the point. She told me that she didn't recommend buying a dress unless I tried it on. A new woman came to help me to try on the dress. So I tried on a dress in my normal size which obviously I could not button. the 2nd woman disappeared so I took the dress off and went to find her. She was disappointed that I had taken the dress off. I talked to her and just ordered the dress in a size bigger than me. The dress than arrived on Sept 1 which was after I had the baby. The dress was too big. If I knew the dress would have arrived so quickly I would have waited to order the dress. Once again I do not recommend this location. read more

I cannot put into words exactly how disappointed I am with my entire David's bridal Dedham experience. I got my gown, 4 bridesmaids dresses, and my mothers dress from this location. The dresses themselves were beautiful. However, the day of the wedding all the clasps on the bridesmaids dresses were broken within seconds of putting the gowns on. The employee who was helping me at the time of shopping was not helpful and was missing in action for almost all of the appointment. When I went to alterations I was told by the only person back there "I speak little English". How am I supposed to get help from someone (especially when they are the only person working back there) for alterations when the employee doesn't speak English? Giving one star was being too generous in my opinion because they definitely do not deserve it. I couldn't be more disappointed. read more

I went to David's on a Tuesday. So it was less busy and awesome. I met with the dress consultant, Pattie, and she was AMAZING!!!!!!!! My experience was just so perfect. Pattie let me browse on my own at first, because that's what I wanted to do. And after I picked a few, she helped around with suggestions. I of course picked dresses with laced backs and she helped me in and out of all of the dresses very patiently and eagerly. I picked the dress I liked the most and she didn't pressure me buy anything I didn't want. She was just so supportive She was so friendly and genuinely was so happy for me. It was amazing and I would highly recommend this place and Pattie to anyone. I would just avoid weekends :) read more

I live in Dedham, and thought I would start my dress shopping here, just to see what they have. I'd heard mixed things, and thanks to the reviews here I knew not to expect much. The dressing room was a bit gross, the curtain on the changing room was barely clipped on the rod, torn and dirty looking. The dresses were worn and damaged, one had a broken zipper that prevented me from even trying it on. I did find a dress that would have worked, but didn't get it for the following reasons. 1) Customer Service. The woman who helped was not at all friendly. She even made me feel bad a couple of times, with judgmental comments about my style and vision for a dress, even something about my skin tone. She was pretty upset that I had my fiance with me, even though there were no other women trying things on that night. Then when we were leaving, I wanted to pay for a swatch of fabric ($1.00). We had to wait an intolerably long time for the woman at the register to finish counting her cash drawer before she would even look at us. It was at least an hour before their closing time, so I'm not sure what the deal was. 2) Spammy, spammy, spammy. Do not give these people your phone number or email address. Do not register on their website. I have been inundated for 3 weeks now with spam about photographers, honeymoons, wedding websites, florists, you name it. I've also received the call about the "bridal package" the reviewer below mentions. To me, this is unacceptable. They have clearly sold my info, and I'm so sorry I even went there. Needless to say I found my dress elsewhere (Alfred Angelo just down Rt 1 from there - they were 100% awesome and just as affordable). It's amazing to me that David's Bridal could treat customers the way that they do and stay in business. My advice is to avoid them at all costs. read more

I don't think I'm saying anything that hasn't been said before. It's disorganized in there and the staff is rude. It's a big pet peeve of mine when people seem annoyed to have to do their job. I called to make an appointment a few days prior and actually had a pleasant conversation with whomever was on the phone. I called the day of to switch my time and the woman said it was good I called because I wasn't even on the books. Meh, no big deal. When we showed up, the woman who checked us in was rude. She picked up a ringing phone while I was mid-sentence and yelled, "WHAT?!" at the person on the other end. They proceeded to bicker and then she slammed the phone down and said, "It's not my fault her clients have all been crazy today. She'll be right with you." Great. When our assigned consultant arrived 10 minutes later (it was now 20 minutes after our appointment time), she was annoyed that we had pulled more than 3 dresses each. Um, no one told us not to. She immediately said, "We're closing soon, so I don't know if you will be able to try them all on." Um, they weren't closing for 40 minutes and she didn't show up for the first 20 of our appointment. Anyway, we are efficient and got through the whole lot in 20 min. We went back out and I pointed out three more on the sign that I wanted to see. A big sigh from our consultant. Again, she said they were closing soon and she didn't know if we could try them on. Listen, lady, don't make an hour long appointment for the last hour the store is open if you don't want people to ask for stuff. Again, we were able to try them all on and I asked her to write some styles we liked down. What a pain is the you know what that was. It was like I had asked her to part the red sea. She started cleaning out old dressing rooms and I had to ask 4 times to get her to write stuff down. The only time she was "helpful" (read ironically) was when I was talking to my bridesmaids about getting their hair done and she chimed in that getting your hair done is really expensive. Thanks, lady. Mind your own business. You've done it the whole rest of the appointment, when we actually needed your help. read more

I was a little wary of my appointment at David's Bridal. I had heard bad things so I braced myself to try some dresses on to see what styles worked for me and then go somewhere else to actually find my wedding dress. The appointment went far better than I ever expected. First, I knew this wasn't going to be the same experience as going to a smaller local bridal salon, but I didn't exactly have a budget for that experience - which was fine. I'm not a princess-y, "it's my day" kind of bride. I just wanted to find a dress I felt good in for a day. It was a Sunday afternoon appointment when they first opened. I had my mother and 4 of my 5 bridesmaids with me. I was worried it'd be too many people, but it was no problem it seemed for my consultant or the space we occupied. Even though the place was busy, there seemed to be plenty of staff and I never waited long for a new dress or to get clipped in. I worked with Pattie who was amazing. She was so patient as I tried to tell her what I liked and what I didn't want, pulling dresses based on my feedback. I ultimately narrowed it down to 2 and hemmed and hawed before picking the 5th dress I tried on that day. Couldn't believe I found the dress on the first try! I'll be back for bridesmaid dresses and anything else I might need. read more

It seems like this location might be hit or miss because of the other reviews, but my experience was very pleasant. I made an appointment the day before I was set to go in, and it was no problem. When I got there, I folded down some pages of dresses I liked and my sales associate got the ones I wanted plus a few others. She was incredibly helpful and polite, and not pushy at all. The store was clean, and well organized to my untrained eye. I have two recommendations though: 1. Go early, and on a weekday (I went to shop for my dress on a Tuesday at like 11 and it was very quiet. I went back to get some swatches on a Saturday and it was INSANE...some of the complaints here might be because people went on busy times.) 2. Make sure you read the contract carefully and opt out of contact with third party vendors -- I missed this and get calls, email, and mail incessantly. read more

I had an okay experience here- first the good: * Selection was pretty good with lot's of choices in lot's of sizes *I found my dress, and I love it. I absolutely L O V E it. *Pricing was reasonable and fair The not-so-good: *It was hotter than hell in there. I shopped in March, so it wasn't a hot month, but it was scorching in there. I was sweating like a whore in church. *I had an appointment, and they were 40 minutes late. WTF. *The dressing room was crappy- small and cramped and I felt like I was ass out for the whole world to see. *There was no real service. Nothing to make you comfortable. It was a long appt and it would have been nice to have been offered water. They had nothing there. * They charge for a garment bag. I booked an appointment for 12pm Friday afternoon for wedding dress shopping. I was running terribly late (30mins) and tried calling but the phones were down, I later found out. No biggie. I was greeted at the front door with no hostility due to my tardiness. Tracy helped me instantly. She was so peppy and great. I had NO idea what I was looking for. I am a "full figured" woman and didn't think I could find anything flattering but boy was I wrong. Tracy found several dresses all not containing "puffiness" as I had specifically asked. I tried on 7 or so dresses and never felt uncomfortable, rushed or pressured to buy ANYTHING. She fitted me with undergarments, shoes and vails. I did find two amazing dresses but didn't buy my #1. I wanted my mother's option who was not present that visit. I am actually headed to a Davids closer to home tomorrow after such a great experience. Thank you Tracy you're a doll!! Had an appointment on Sunday at 2PM. I got there a few minutes early and checked in with the lady at the front and she showed me to where the bridesmaid dresses were and told me that a consultant will be with me when it's time. I showed her a photo of a gown that the bride sent me and asked if they had it in stock and she told me they did and the consultant will help me with it later. 2:15, after getting bored of waiting, I went to the front again and turns out they didn't even notify them that I was there or anything. So I waited for another 10 minutes before I was taken to the back to try on the dresses. I don't get the point if there's so many empty rooms why I even needed her because I already told the lady at the front that I knew what I was looking for already. At most my consultant only helped me with zipping up the dresses and checking the stock. It takes like 2-3 months for it to ship so I just ordered it online instead, which only estimates 1-2 weeks to arrive. They didn't seem to have much in stock, sizes or color. Luckily I found the styles I needed, but they didn't have a lot of smaller sizes so I had to size up when trying them on. In the end I forgot to ask about my photo again but I don't see why the lady didn't just tell me which dress it was. And she didn't relay it to my consultant either. read more

I bought my wedding dress at the David's Bridal in Natick and had a pleasant enough experience, but I was really unimpressed with this store, in particular the saleswoman who assisted us. She gave the bride conflicting information and offered an "I don't know" and a shrug when questioned about it. Our bridal party was about the least demanding ever, so I can't imagine how this saleswoman deals with bridezillas. If you have a choice, go to the one in Natick instead. At least you can enjoy all-you-can-eat sushi next door or go shopping at the mall across the street afterwards. read more

I've had a few bad experiences at this specific David's. The customer service has always been the worst, and they seem fairly unorganized. It's as it they really don't want to sell you their merch. Very odd. Last summer, I went out to purchase my bridesmaids dresses. The person helping us was helpful enough, but really wasn't very attentive, so we basically did all the work ourselves. When I went back to look for shoes, no one wanted to help us, and instead pointed us to a disorganized pile of old shoe boxes and nasty looking used bridal shoes. Needless to say, I ordered from somewhere else. Recently, I had to go back to this location with a group to shop for a bridesmaid dress for a friend's wedding. Even though we had an appointment, we ended up pulling our own dresses and sizes, and doing our own fitting. I have no clue where the woman who was supposed to work with us went, but I'm sure she got credit for helping us. Yesterday, I went back (with an appointment) hoping to actually get fitted for my bridesmaid dress and purchase it. When I arrived, no one greeted me, but a few people walked past me and stared. There was someone at the front helping someone else, and after a few mins, she finally acknowledged my presence. The whole visit was disorganized and off-putting, but they all perked up once I pulled out my credit card to order the dress (of course). I don't think that this is an issue with all David's though. I ordered my wedding dress from a location in MD, and couldn't have been happier with the service from the whole team. I just think that the folks at Dedham are too busy looking bored to actually provide proper customer service. read more

Even after reading the Yelp reviews, I thought I'd try David's Bridal. It was a mistake. I went on a Monday night so it wasn't busy which was great, but the person assigned to assist me me didn't help much at all. Once she found out that my budget was around $400 and I wasn't looking for a $10K ball gown and was willing to try bridesmade dresses and short wedding dresses, she disapeared. When I saw her again, she looked flat out shocked when I tried on a short black dress. My friends ended up getting/returning dresses for me, zipping me up, putting them back on the hangers, etc. I did find one I like (t-length white Audrey Hepburn style - very cute) but have not bought it yet as I want to see what else is out there. The prices are good, but if you want anything special, alterations, different colored ribbon, etc., the price jumps right up to the tune of $70 to $120 per addition. This is all before shoes, veil. . . if you are going for all the bells and whistles. The dressing rooms are horrid (stained, crumbs on the floor, spills on the carpet and walls, etc.) and the dresses I tried on had stains, rips, zippers that were stuck and wouldn't slide, and beading that was comming off so it ripped your arms to shreads when trying on strapless dresses. The associate came back when I was leaving and asked, "so how'd we do". I thanked her for her time and said that though I found one I really liked, I wanted to look around a bit more before I made a decision - mind you my wedding is October 2nd so I'm running out of time. I'd say David's Bridal is a good practice place if you don't know what you want. It gives you an opportunity to try lots of styles for a decent price and gives you a better idea of what looks good on your body. Be prepared to do the work yourself as the staff will not offer you any opinions as to what looks good on you or what styles will compliment your body, that is if you can find your associate. read more

After waiting for over an hour (even though I had an appt.) I asked to speak to the manager and told her this: The customer service was lacking since I first walked inside. Receptionist didn't acknowledge me because she was bitching with her co-worker. I told the receptionist twice I was here. But only when I asked if I can be seen now did she do something. Receptionist told me to go to the back where someone would greet me. I waited over 45 minutes and felt like an idiot waiting for someone to help me or "greet" me as the receptionist said. No one acknowledged me or greeted me once I arrived at the back. I told her this was my first and last time at David's Bridal and they will not get my business. I walked out. I would give it 0 stars but 1 star is the minimum. read more

I'm a little bit mixed on my opinion of DB. At the end of the day, I was really happy with my bridal gown and I felt the price was reasonable. Nelly; my sales associate, was nice. The alteration ladies were incredibly helpful even when I may have been slightly neurotic. They have a variety of payment options; such as layaway. However, no apology was given when my appointment didn't begin until 1 hour after it was scheduled. It was a busy day in the store, but the women checking customers were not really focused on what they were doing - they were distracted on discussing how eating Funyuns made your breath smell like butt. (I wish I was making that up.) Also, I am 5'8" and apparently should have been informed about the option to order an extended length dress, but it was never mentioned. My dress length was fine because I wore flats, but I could see how another bride might not be happy with that option. My sister lives out of state and asked to see my dress in another DB so she could compare the color for my niece's flower girl dress (cream vs. white) and the store refused to show her the dress. As I said, I was happy with my dress in terms of comfort and appearance - and really happy with the service provided by a few select employees. However, I was frustrated that service overall wasn't more customer centered. read more

My bridesmaids and I (8 girls total) were just here yesterday to pick out their dresses, which was great. Everybody found something they liked and the prices were really affordable. The customer service, however, wasn't so great. If I had been shopping for my gown I would've been really upset with how little attention we received, but with such a big group of girls it was fine. We didn't see our consultant until everyone had picked out dresses, went into fitting rooms, tried on at least 2 each and then put their clothes back on. Again, it wasn't a big deal, and to be fair it was a Saturday so they were busy. What really upset me was how the consultant had each girl announce their size in front of one each other, in a big circle like in kindergarten, then afterwards each girl went into a fitting room to get measured. Why couldn't they have asked for everyone's size quietly during the measuring? The dresses were pretty, in the colors I wanted and somewhat inexpensive, so for the most part shopping here worked out well, but I didn't care for the customer service. read more

I understand that David's Bridal is selected mainly for its low price points and many locations. However, it can barely deliver and is disorganized. - I could barely find the Dedham location, since the complex is undergoing renovations and there is minimal signage. - The staff selected and had me try on the wrong bridesmaid dress. They didn't realize this until I was at the cashier purchasing the incorrect dress, until the saleswoman double-checked and realized she had given me the wrong one. I was too frustrated from the entire experience to go back to the dressing room to make sure the correct dress fit, since the saleswoman kept wandering off during my fitting to watch the brides try on their dresses. - The bridesmaid shoes gave me blisters and made one of the other bridesmaids feet bleed. - This is the worst part: When I finally came to pick up my bridesmaid dress, it was wrinkled. How can a bridal store give wrinkled merchandise to customers? All the other bridesmaids suffered the same problem, so everyone was frantically trying to steam the dresses just prior to the wedding. By the way, the dresses weren't exactly cheap, either. As I said, I get that people go to David's Bridal for the prices rather than the quality/experience, but you'd at least expect they would be able to provide the wedding party with the correct outfits and ensure the attire isn't wrinkled. Made me incredibly greatful I was just in the wedding party, rather than the bride, since this place makes no effort to give a memorable or even positive experience, but instead treats customers like cattle. read more

Disappointing trip. I won't be going back. I was shocked to see that the bridal store I've heard so much about turned out to be a junky mess. I did end up buying a few "shoe gems" to attach to shoes to add some sparkle, but as I pulled them off the wall, one fell and broke right there in the store. They did have a few Vera Wang dresses and shoes, but the selection overall was mediocre. While quality was lacking in general, the prices did seem to match the caliber of the goods ($6 for the breakable shoe gems). To note--no returns (EVER) according to store policy. Service and location were nothing to be impressed about either. It took me 10-15 minutes to get back to the highway (less than a mile away) on a Saturday afternoon. read more

I ordered and altered my wedding dress at this location. I guess I was very lucky because I didn't have any issues. This was probably because I was an easy sale, as I had already tried on several dresses at the David's Bridal in San Jose, CA. (SJ was the closest one to my Mom and one of my bridesmaids) When I purchased my dress, they gave me several coupons for $ off bridesmaid dresses, shoes, accessories and the gown-saving box and service. The coupons came in handy since I ended up picking my bridesmaids dresses from David's as well, because all my bridesmaids were located in different parts of the country. I ended up with a simple strapless ivory gown for our outdoor wedding. I love that dress, and the way the altered it for the bustle (they used the French bustle where you tie it using ribbons across the back of the gown). read more

I came in on a Sunday, which was probably a mistake. I didn't feel I was met with a representative of the store in a timely manner, even after I was asked to register. I wandered the aisles looking through different gowns and making notes of some curious ones. I still never got to try on the dress I wanted to, the very nice lace on the front store dummy, or the one I wanted to try on a lark. I didn't get a gown I wanted, and I felt like the sales woman was trying to push me into buying the third or fourth dress I tried on even though I expressed dislike of the fabric the dress came in. I've worked high school plays with nicer fabrics that this gown, which unfortunately, was lovely otherwise. I told her repeatedly that I _didn't_ have a princess complex, and poufy dresses were extremely not what I was looking for. "Tuck the tulle between your knees." Well then, let's have at it. I was shopping with my mother, trying on dresses with the woman who gave birth to me, and even made mention of the fact I would be back with my bridesmaids when they came up to Boston later on. She was helpful with getting dresses that were already in the bridal hall with other women. My overall opinion is mixed, but I'd probably go back just to have my bridesmaids look at the same dresses with me. read more

The pros: The woman who worked with us for our bridesmaid dress fittings was very kind and well-educated about the dresses. The cons: Once you agree on a dress and decide to order from David's, they no longer care about the customer experience. They've already got your buck! They also apparently don't pay for a Yelp account, because look at all these bad reviews! I called two weeks after our appointment to confirm that my dress was ordered because apparently one of the other girls had ordered hers late and the attendant told her that she was the first to order, despite the fact that the rest of us ordered in the store the day of our fitting. First, this phone call took 26 minutes, during which I was put on hold four times. Once I finally got to speak with someone for more than two seconds, I was told that they would never have placed an order without payment, so no, my dress had not been ordered, just my size was taken down. "Okay, so why did you take down my size, name, and telephone number?" Response: "I don't think we did that." Okay... So I order my dress, and the woman asks me "What size?" I don't know - I'm five months pregnant now, I'll be eight months at the wedding, and the woman who did our fittings determined what size I would need and wrote it down, so I have no idea. I get put on hold for the third time. She apparently tracked down our attendant and asked her what size she "wrote down." Okay, so we've figured out my size. Now I need to pay, which I hadn't budgeted for as I thought our dresses were already ordered and that I'd pay upon delivery. I say I'll pay over the phone, and get put on hold again so she can go to a register. I'll receive an email when the dress comes in. But I will certainly NOT be using David's for my alterations. I came here a few times with bridesmaids, we kept coming back because we were so indecisive for their dresses! I have to say, its best to come on a week night. By no fault of the people working here -- the place is a complete zoo on the weekends. I am thankful that they are open late during the work week though! Each time we were lucky enough to land ourself with Erin. I think she is the manager but I'm not sure, but she was being pulled in so many different directions by other customers asking her questions and even a few employees. She was always around when we needed a different style or size and helped make the ordering process so easy for all the maids. Hats off to her - don't know how she keeps her cool with so many people in the store and little kids running around everywhere. Sidenote - I saw a little boy totally pilfering through the jewelry that was for sale and different sales associates kept telling him to go back to his mom. I'm pretty sure you know what you're getting into when you look for a bridal gown at a large chain store like David's. I was pleasantly surprised at my experience. But it's probably important to say that I wasn't looking for a boutique experience let alone a designer dress. I had a budget of under $1000 and I had a general idea in mind of what I wanted so I was in and out. The sales associates were really nice and I appreciated how they didn't stalk me through the store. They let me pull a few dresses I liked and they brought them back to the fitting rooms for me. The best part is that they had lots of sizes so I didn't have to try on a huge size and pull the fabric to imagine how my actual size would fit. They gave me some suggestions but really weren't pushy on anything. I ended up trying on 4 dresses, found one I liked, came back a few days later and purchased it. It was a very easy process and the dress was on sale for $600.They offer a deal on your veil if you purchase it at the same time as the dress as well as the dress cleaning and preservation kit. They offer in store alterations but I chose not to use them because I had heard some bad things about their alterations department. I'd recommend to go in the evenings during the work week if you can. You get more one on one attention and it's less crowded. I imagine weekends and certain seasons would be much busier. Overall, just be realistic with your expectations and you won't be that disappointed. read more

Ok, let me just start off by saying I was not a bridezilla, and I was a relatively calm bride...All my other vendors were amazing, but this one was absolutely AWFUL! I'm not sure if it's just this store, but the customer service was horrendous! When I went in to find my dress, the woman who was supposed to be assisting me kept disappearing. When I went back later to pick up my shoes, I stood, with my son on my hip, waiting for a half an hour for them to just get the shoes from the backroom and give them to me! And the woman helping me, was so rude and completely unprofessional. If anyone should've been rude, it should've been me!! The dress was beautiful and for the price, you can't beat what I paid...But if you are looking for service, this is not the place to go! read more
