If I could give zero stars I would. I bought a dress online to wear for my wedding reception. When I received the package I opened the box and the dress was scrunched up in a cheap plastic bag with a "Made In China" sticker on it. When I took the dress out it was the cheapest material and looked nothing like the photo online. I tried it on and it was way too big. I used their sizing chart when purchasing and also measured the dress I received. The measurements did not match what is on their sizing guide. They were MANY inches bigger. I never got my dress and when I asked for a refund I was told I was going to get one and an email confirmation for the inconvenience and it's been almost a month and still no dress and no refund. I filed a police report like I was asked and now they're talking about taking legal action on me when I was just asking for a refund. This is a completely fraudulent website!! There are three styles on this website that are listed as our company's designs, but they are cheap copies. They steal product images directly from Anthropologie. Customers then have a disappointing experience which they attribute to the brand, when it is really a cheap knockoff. This gives the brand a bad reputation. I sincerely hope that customers realize this before they waste their money. Online Buyers Beware! Even though Camilla's threatened me with legal action if I spoke in any capacity of defamation, I cannot let another bride purchase online without reading this first. If you order a standard size, they consider it custom. So if you order a 10, but the dress appears to be a size 6, you cannot return it. If the dress you choose looks completely different than the dress you receive, you cannot return it. They have multiple areas on their site saying 14 day returns, even 30 day returns, but if you skim over the fine print you will miss that they only take a return if the dress is damaged or apparnetly under $100. I have never reviewed a company before, but the experience I have had via emails with this company has been so negative and disappointing that I had to share. If it saves another bride from having the same experience then it's worth it to me. Luckily my credit card company refunded the cost of the dress after reading the shared email history between Camilla's and myself. The pictures of the dress alone were enough evidence that I did not receive what I thought I was buying. Camilla's will state that each dress is handmade so it is not unusual to see some differences, guess "differences" that can be left to interpretation. read more

Scam!!! I ordered their lace mermaid dress custom to size, giving my exact measurements. The website is completely fraudulent advertising beautiful gowns custom made to size, showing impeccable quality in the photos. As you can see, what I received is nothing like the advertised photos. The dress is completely see through, even showing the cheap round bra cups inserted clear as day. The dress is not even close to fitting me right and isn't even the same design as what is advertised. To top it all off when I sent the photos to Camilla's Bridal requesting a refund, they took no accountability and had the audacity to include their legal team to try scare me off saying they don't accept refunds on custom orders. After some further digging I found the exact same dress on AliExpress, so it's now clear this was not custom made at all and came from a cheap Chinese factory. I will be reporting them to the local authorities and the USA federal trade commission asap. Fraudulent companies like this deserve to pay for getting people's hopes up on their most special day, it's absolutely disgusting. I will not rest till they no longer trade. SCAM! Wow I ordered a dress from them and they send you an email where you have to confirm it in 12 hours or they'll ship it out as is. Within 2 minutes of ordering, i realized the wrong color was selected and they confirmed they would update it to the correct color. Customer service was very quick at responding, and confirmed in less than 10 minutes about the color change. Well my dress arrived and it is the wrong color. I emailed them with photos and they have not responded. I even paid an extra $45 for expedited shipping. The dress does not even look like photos on top of that. This is a Chinese store fronting and pretending to be a US company. They respond quickly at first but when you need actual help, they're scammers. read more

I had an absolutely wonderful experience at my Bridal appointment at Camilla's Bridal. They have a beautiful selection of wedding dresses that I was excited about and the owner Nivia quickly helped me find the style that I like and fit me. I shared my dream dress I found on the designer's website with Nivia. Unfortunately it was not carried at Camilla's; however, she actually suggested to me that another store carried the dress so I could go try on, which turned out to the dress I decided to choose. Even though I didn't end up going with the dresses at Camilla's (they were so beautiful), I want to say thank you and cannot say enough wonderful things about Camilla's. Highly recommend. read more

This was my very first experience trying on a wedding dress. In the past I had accompanied friends but never done it myself. Needless to say I was nervous and anxious to see how it would go. From the second we (my mom, sister, and I) stepped in the shop I felt totally taken care of. Nivia owns the shop but that day I was taken care of by the assistant, whose name I regretfully didn't catch. She greeted us and showed us the racks. She said we could go through them ourselves and select what we liked. The selection isn't massive but they have a few of at least every style you could think of, all mostly under $1,500. She hung back while we went through the dresses and, based on the feedback I was giving to my mom and sis' picks, was able to steer me to dresses more my taste/style. Super helpful. As I tried on my 7 picks the assistant and her magic hands helped clip and bustle and adjust the dresses so they FIT even though they weren't my size. She helped me see how every single dress would have looked if it were true to my size. That is skill right there. Let me just digress here, a lot of my anxiety around trying on dresses came from knowing the sample sizes at Camilla's were around an 8-10 and I'm more like a 14 so I thought I wouldn't be able to find anything and that even if I did, nothing would fit or it would look awful. Clearly I was wrong because I found 7 lovely dresses that were size 10-12 and not terrible to wriggle in to. Add that to the assistant working her magic and my fears went away immediately. Another thing I LOVED about the assistant, that I was super anxious about, was that everyone there looking at me would push their opinions on me about each dress: this one is more flattering, this one is more stylish, this one is really popular, this one is our fave, etc. She never did that, she gave very impartial advice noting helpful things like where certain dresses could be altered, different additions or subtractions that could be made, how a dress would look in my actual size. She was thoughtful and neutral and never imposed her own thoughts and opinions. She was just fantastic. I had a great, great experience here. The racks are very neatly organized, everything looks lovely, the whole store is very inviting and not intimidating like a Priscilla's or insane running of the brides. The samples are pretty ravaged but they are samples. I actually felt better that they weren't in mint condition because then I didn't have to be so delicate whipping 7 heavy wedding dresses on and off on a 90 degree day. My friend Melissa C. (who has also reviewed Camilla's) recommended I go here so I will pass on that wisdom. If you are getting married and need a dress, go here. First the title, $400 to go backwards. 1- The dress came back from the dressmaker 3" too small in the waist. 3" is a lot. It barely even buttoned. I fixed this for Marina. But when taking in the dress I realized that the the dressmaker sliced the fabric so I had to darn the split when I let it back out. 2- The skirt was hemmed 7" shorter on one side than the other. And the lace was 6" longer on both sides. 3- When bustled, because of problems in #2, one side hung 6" longer than the rest of the dress. Which meant it dragged on the ground. 4- They added netting for straps, it was skimpy and tight. 5- When we tried to get this fixed, the dressmaker suddenly no longer spoke English. It was like a bizarre sick scene in an independent movie. 6- the owner does not in any was take any responsibility for any work done by the dressmaker. The 3 weeks before the wedding were a nightmare and Camilla's didn't help at all. $400 to destroy a dress & there was only a cold, professional "we aren't responsible for the work done by the dressmaker". Camilla's recommended this women and then completely distanced themself from the work done. 7- add this to my previous comment, which follows and I'd advise avoiding this place like the plague. First the title. "Say Yes to the Dress". Now the shop. I have walked past and enjoyed their windows since they opened. Camilla's has a nicely curated selection of dresses. In fact one of the best I've seen. I used to make dresses so I know this. When my step Daughter wanted a dress I said I haven't made one in years so the quality of anything I made would not be appropriate. And, with excitement said try Camilla's. She looked at several stores and bought a dress here because the selection, as I said, was the best. Both for variety and for quality. The price is also very competitive. Not the cheapest. But perfect for the quality. So the visit. The owner's mom should interview "For Say Yes to the Dress". It was all drama and eye rolls. My step daughter was down to 4 dresses and invited me because she wanted an honest assessment of each dress. I have the honest pots & cons of each dress. After all, I had made dresses professionally. There were surprises. For instance, One dress was great from the front but was cut poorly and the seams in the back bunched weirdly. You'd have thought I had just told the woman that her youngest girl was a bully. Or that I had just called favorite pug dog fat. Finally, the problem: What they were doing was bringing out all the dresses that weren't selling and trying to convince my stepdaughter to buy them. And some of them were ridiculous. She is 5'2" and although not fat she climbs competitively and is not skinny. They brought out a dress that was suitable for twiggy. They brought out an elegant beaded Downton Abbey dress, not exactly attractive on a short muscular climber. The brought out a see through corset dress. They brought out the dress from above with the wonky seams. We bought a dress that was one in a million. Perfect for a climber. We added puffy straps to tone down the super muscular climber's shoulders. Because the dress was traditional rather than the currently fashionable mermaid the price was great. But I was in tears from the cold shoulder from the owner's mom and the constant bickering she kept trying to start. My step-daughter was confused and unhappy that what should have been an enjoyable start to wedding planning was turned into a TV sit com. I now hate this place. I went with my friend who was the bride. The service was amazing and all the dresses were beautiful. They have a nice selection of dresses that I would buy - it made me want to get married again just so I can buy one! It is a little awkward because the size of the viewing room is the size of my living room which isn't even that big at all. The 2 dressing rooms are next to one another and so when your looking at Your bride... You can't help look at the other bride next to her. They basically share one mirror. Especially if the two parties are sitting next to or behind you. This can get really weird when it's a busy Saturday and there's back to back appointments. read more

Nivia and Maria are beyond words. I came into Camilla's bridal over a year ago not knowing what to expect. My family and I were simply browsing. I found my dress on the first visit. The selection is great! Extensive and with many varied styles. The selection alone set them apart from other bridal shops. But the icing on the cake for me was the genuineness and familial feeling the women exude to their clientele. I never felt like a client with them, more like family. I've visited often this past year. Sometimes alone, sometimes not in the best mind set. And The ladies offered more than just dress services to me. If you think you've found "the" dress at this store, do yourself a favor and SLEEP ON IT before you sign the dotted line. Maybe even check out a few more stores (there is a wonderful new/consignment place in Danvers, check out VOWS in Watertown, definitely check out Bride'N'Belle in Medford). The Good: - The exterior of the store is nice; their window displays certainly add cute character to Arlington Center - It's good to support local business. Arlington doesn't need another empty storefront! The Bad: - Unimpressive, monotonous, uninspired selection - Very pushy - Very focused on the sale and cycling people through the door - Not very personable - I strongly recommended going to Bride'N'Belle in Medford instead. The exterior and layout are not as "charming" but their selection, care, and guidance are much, much better. My Story: I really wanted to love Camilla's. I live in the neighborhood and was excited when it came time to buy my wedding dress because I had the opportunity to support a local business in a significant ($$$$) way. Long story short, I bought a dress from them because I was pressured by the disinterested saleswoman (who puts on a sweet exterior but is clearly only focused on the sale), even though I made it clear I was unsure and wanted to think about it. I ended up buying a replacement dress from Bride'N'Belle in Medford - they were much kinder, more sincere, and had a better eye. A quick anecdote: I live in the neighborhood, so peek in when I walk by to get coffee. I've seen them put multiple brides (read: at least 6!) in the same, bland A-line dress time and time again. It seems when a bride is feeling down because their selection/style is so narrow (think predominately all lace, strapless, fit'n'flare, sweetheart necklines) they recommend the one "classic" dress they carry. The dress is "fine"; it is universally flattering and will make anyone (even my 6'2" hairy husband) feel like a bride. The brides I've seen in it all look beautiful, but unsure. Like the store, the dress is nice enough, but it certainly doesn't make you feel as special and beautiful as you should on your wedding day. read more

I found my dream dress, but my MOH wasn't at the appointment, so they were kind enough to let me come back in and try the sample on again. I also had my alterations done here by Violette, and the dress came out beautifully and fit me perfectly. I knew my dress was the one after looking online, and I emailed them to see if they had it in the store. Sure enough, they did, and it was gorgeous in person. It arrived right on time and the seamstress who did my alterations was excellent. They also put in an order for my veil, which I fell in love with and decided I couldn't live without :) They were so accommodating and kind, very good at communication and fast at responding. Well I was amidst a Bridal Nightmare!! My dress was getting ruined by David's Bridal and their seamstresses! Well with less then 4 weeks til my wedding day I was at my limits with Davids Bridal and their lack of skills in alterations. I was emotional and stressed and now hating my wedding dress entirely. I found Camilla's on YELP... with all their great reviews I gave them a call. I spoke to Nivia on the phone and I'm sure she could sense how stressed and frantic I was. She reassured me everything was going to be OK and scheduled me to bring the dress in the very next day. When I walked into Camilla's I was greeted with smiles, a welcoming Hello and was instantly put at ease. She guided me towards a dressing room to put my dress on. Inside the dressing room I looked at myself again... with tears in my eyes hating not only my wedding dress but I picked apart my every flaw. I felt yucky instead of feeling beautiful in my wedding dress. Still teary eyed I walked out of the dressing room the seamstress looked me up and down walked around me a few times and was actually in shock what David's bridal had done to my dress! She comforted me, considering I probably looked like I was about to go over the deep end... She sweetly stated "There Are No Tears Allowed Here" and told me she could fix it. As she circled around me... She pined and tucked and took out stitches... and within ten minutes... I was in complete awe of how she transformed it back into the dress I fell in love with. I was completely amazed how she worked and knew my figure and curves and where actually needed what. Well its two weeks later I just returned from Camilla's with a smile from ear to ear. My Wedding Dress looks perfect ... it looks like it was meant for me... And not that I'm a 12 year old in her mothers dress.... Absolutely Gorgeous!!! I wish my experience at Camilla's was in line with the others shown here, but let's just say that I created a Yelp profile just to write this review...not so good, eh? Having just come from my first bridal boutique experience at Precious Memories in Malden, where I was pleasantly surprised at the customer service experience I had despite the somewhat bland appearance of the interior, I wasn't sure if this "defied expectations" theme would continue when I entered Camilla's quaint, cozy interior. Lovely decor, comfortable seating, etc. However, despite the fact that I had an appointment, the dressing room area was extremely crowded with other brides and entourages who were looking at me as if I was encroaching on "their time." At Precious Memories, I had been the only customer in that time slot and had a staff member, changing room, and 3-way mirror all to myself. After I informed the sullen, 16-year-old-looking salesgirl that I had an appointment, she half-heartedly attempted to help me find gowns for about 2 minutes. Trying to be helpful, I looked through the racks as well and found a gown or two, only to turn around and realize that she had apparently interpreted my helpfulness as complete independence, and had returned to her position behind the counter. I then had to go BACK to the counter and tell her I was ready to try on the gowns. Instead of helping me, she sort of looked at a co-worker who was helping another bride as if to say "I guess this customer wants the dressing room", and the other employee sort of exasperatedly responded "Okay, I'll move these gowns." God forbid I actually KEEP my appointment! I went in to try on the gowns thinking I would have the proximate attention of this young whippersnapper (Donna at Precious Memories was by my side, answering my questions and helping with rigging of gowns the entire time). Oh no! How foolish I was. As soon as I slipped on the first sample (now I am a bigger girl, size 14, so I was going to need help rigging the gowns to simulate fit so that I could see if I liked them or not) and peeked out the door to find Li'l Miss BACK AT THE COUNTER AGAIN, I realized that I was just not going to get any attention at this place (am I too fat? Do I look too poor?) and there was simply no way I was going to give them my business. I am glad that others had good experiences there, and they clearly are not hurting for business, but my experience really irked me. read more

I called Camilla's about two weeks before I was ready to go shop. I asked them specifically about short dresses and was told they had some. I was also told I didn't need an appointment if I came on a weekday during the day. I arrived on a Thursday around noon with my mother and aunt. I told the woman that I didn't have an appointment because I'd been told on the phone that I didn't need to. She said "Is that so?" and kind of raised her eyebrows at me. She had me fill out a form and asked what I was looking for. I explained that I was looking for a short dress and that my wedding was in June (3 1/2 months away). They weren't sure that they could help me with something that soon. They showed me the single short dress they had, which wasn't remotely something I'd wear. After that, they basically told us to look around and pointed out a dressing room we could use. That left us, three not-very-tall women, sorting through gigantic wedding dresses that were hanging 6 feet off the ground. The people at Camilla's provided no additional help in finding dresses and we had to carry most of the dresses to the dressing room ourselves. They provided me no help in trying on the dresses aside from occasionally clipping me into and out of things (although my aunt had to unclip me at one point when none of the employees were paying us any attention). Needless to say I didn't end up getting a dress there. They had some beautiful things but they were pricey and not what I was looking for. The service, while not bad, was completely disinterested in us and completely different from the service we received at the other places we went (Bride n Belle in Medford and Sabella in Boston). There was another group there who did seem to be getting more attention so perhaps if you have an appointment, someone will actually help you. read more

I had been on my wedding dress search for quite sometime when i made my appointment at Camilla's. I was so frustrated that I hadn't found I dress yet I was so unexcited about going to another store. Then I arrived at Camilla's and everything I previously felt went to the wayside. The family owned business has a great location and nice and relaxed atmosphere. I had my appointment at 3:00 on saturday just before they closed and had the whole store to myself. The mother and daughter owners (i never caught their names) were so helpful and friendly. I would go back ina second. I ended up finding the perfect dress for me, for less then $500, with very good quality and eveything I needed. They didn't mind us taking pictures and we all had a good time. I would highly recommend Camilla's I would schedule an appointment when no ones is there as the store is a little small. So I have one more thing to add. If you don't want to or can't bring your dress home with you. They store your dress in a heavy duty bag until you are able to pick it up!! read more

I am not the bride but accompanied my friend on her quest for the perfect wedding dress during Feb vacation. This was our fifth store in three days so by this time, our mental capacities were pretty exhausted after trying on so many dresses. She had the first appointment on a weekday which probably afforded us the great experience we had. Maria was so attentive and sweet but realistic. She seemed to know when my friend was not into the dress and didn't push it. She also seemed to know when my friend fell in love with one, but didn't pressure her to buy it immediately. Although the store is small, their selection contains some great designers. Parking wasn't a big deal since there's a lot on Water Street; one hour at 50 cents isn't bad! read more

What a charming boutique! This was the first bridal store I visited and I had a great experience. My mother-in-law found her dress for the wedding and it was the first and only dress she tried on! I had wonderful luck in finding a couple of dress options for my wedding day, but decided on another gown elsewhere, truly because of that cliche, "ah ha!" moment. Camilla's Bridal had so many options to choose from! From beach themed gowns, to taffeta and lace! Lots of styles to choose from. Camilla's mother is by far the most knowledgeable, friendly and helpful within the store! Wishing them a lifetime of success & happy brides! **Note: My only criticism is that they don't have an elevated platform to view the dress, they have a 18" squared x 6" high wooden platform that they seem to have had luck with, but I prefer something more substantial. read more

Wow. This is a one of a kind shop! Went with my cousin to find her dress. Not only did we find it but found several others that were in the running here as well. The shop is very beautiful and they have tons of dresses for every style. Maria was our consultant and I have to say she went super above and beyond for my cousin. She knew her style right away, every gown she picked my cousin loved. She set her up in poses for pictures and hand picked a perfect veil for her. We are happy to find a shop that also has a seamstress they trust and work with and comes to their shop. Was disappointed in my experience here. I accompanied the bride for a fitting here. She had made an appointment in advance, and it was on a weeknight, rather than a "busy" time like the weekend. Even though we had an appointment, we had to wait in the store for over a half hour because they were either behind schedule or double booked. We just sat there, waiting, with no assistance whatsoever, even though several of us had come from all over the place to share the experience with the bride. When we finally received service, it was a bit lackluster. The staff was still busy with two other brides, so we ventured into the aisles ourselves to pull dresses and help the bride try them on. We had to ask the saleswomen for help unclipping/unlacing the dresses repeatedly since they were so busy helping the other brides. In addition, the store is small, so it felt really crowded with three brides and each bride's entourage. Overall, really frustrating that we made an appointment in advance and were forced to wait so long, and then given barely any customer service. One would assume that a boutique like this would provide more attention and customer service, but it just seemed a bit snooty and the staff was not helpful. I wouldn't recommend this to other bridal parties, since therre was no effort to make the experience special. read more

I was REALLY nervous to go wedding dress shopping. I'm not much of a shopper and I didn't like the idea of trying on gowns to be judged by my friends, mother and staff members. But as soon as I came in here, I felt comfortable. The process was speedy and the staff that helped were not pushy at all and genuinely wanted to help. I had printed a couple ideas from Camilla's website and although they didn't have the exact dresses in the store, they were able to help me find styles that were similar. They also let my mom, friends and I browse the store and try on anything I liked. Ultimately, I ended up finding a fairly affordable dress that I love and it only took trying on about 6 dresses. A lot of them didn't fit exactly, but they were able to finagle it so the dress looked like it would look once it did fit. The dress I ended up purchasing has a lace up corset and the woman that was working with me wouldn't accept my objections to the dress until she had thoroughly laced it up. I must say, she was right. Once it was on correctly, it looked so much different and AWESOME. I paid for my dress on the spot and it's one task immediately off my list. I was in and out of the shop in 45 minutes. I chose Camilla's for my first stop in gown shopping because a friend had a great experience there and ended up buying her gown from them. I picked the last appointment of the day on a Wednesday, so my friend and I had the shop to ourselves. The selection is small but not too small--I found more than enough gowns to try. Helping us was the shop owner's mother, and she was amazing. I told her what I thought I wanted and didn't want in a gown as well as my moderate price range, and she was great in pointing me in the right direction, letting me browse and choose, and sitting back to observe what I liked/didn't like/what looked good on me/didn't. With each gown, she was helpful in adding sashes or small pieces of ornamentation that really added something. She wasn't pushy at all. And the best part was that she was honest with me in how things looked on me. I thought I didn't want any sort of fit & flare style, and she pulled a dress for me to try at the last that was fit & flare with detailed lace when I told her I was open to trying anything, even if it was something I said I didn't want. She wasn't pushy with her pick, and it ended up being my favorite. My wedding is in thirteen months, so I'm still shopping and trying on gowns, but I would not be surprised if I ended up back at Camilla's to buy my dress. I went in dreading the experience, and I left really happy about the service I received. My budget is very limited, and I found four of the six gowns I tried on were under it. I felt welcomed, and I felt like the salesperson helping me genuinely cared about my wedding. I would definitely recommend this shop. read more

Camilla's is great-- it's small, but it's definitely worth putting on your list of places to check out during your wedding dress & bridal party hunt. I've been there twice now (without appointments either time, which I wouldn't recommend) and they've been more than happy to help me both times. Granted, both times it's been on weekday afternoons and I'm looking for bridesmaid dresses and not a wedding gown, but I've never been the only person in the place. Both sales girls I've worked with have pulled out swatch book after swatch book, pulled dresses from racks. Everything is surprisingly affordable and all of their employees are just super sweet. If you're looking for a wedding gown or want to try something on, definitely make an appointment (especially for peak times like Saturday). I wish I'd found something there. I ('Maid) accompanied my cousin (Bride) to Camilla's on our quest for long, grey, strapless, not-too-shiny bridesmaid dresses. We were being lazy about the whole thing and didn't call ahead for an appointment. Since it was a weekday, it was not a big deal. The staff was too busy to help me try on dresses, but they did set up a dressing room for me and answered our questions. I was actually grateful not to have people clipping me into the gowns, the floor-length ones were so long I looked like a mermaid. So I got to hide in the room with Bride and she was the only person to get a laugh out of the situation. Ultimately, we found the perfect dress! However, we ordered them from someone else who charges less. Although it is a small shop, Camilla's is definitely worth checking out if you're looking for bridesmaid dresses in Boston and don't want to deal with the Newbury Street attitude. read more

I loved Camilla's! Today was my first wedding dress shopping day, and I went to Camilla's, very excited after reading the wonderful reviews on here. My experience was also very positive, and I'd recommend Camilla's to anyone in the area looking for a wedding/bridesmaid/formal dress. I was last minute in making my appointment but they were so nice, and the girl that helped me was so friendly and really made the experience very lighthearted and no-pressure. I browsed the gowns with my mom, picked a bunch to try on, and then it was off to the races, or maybe I should say clamps and tucks and omg-I-can't-breathe-this-is-so-tight! Haha. All of the samples were way too big for me, so sadly there was no chance of scoring a sample gown (though maybe they could alter them a few sizes?), but the prices were fair and I definitely found a couple of good contenders. Camilla's is the type of business where even if I found some of the dresses I tried on in there elsewhere for a little cheaper, I would want to give them my business because they're so nice. I'm sure I'll be back to continue being indecisive! read more

I have to chime in with the highest of praise for the ladies at Camilla's. Sent here on the suggestion of a friend who got married two years ago (thank you Heather!), I showed up for an appointment on a snowy January afternoon with my mom and sister. The salon is smallish and their selection carefully curated, but I knew ahead of time that they carried dresses by designers I love - and for the designer I ended up with, they were the only licensed retailer in the Boston area. They also limit their appointments to two per slot (and they have two changing rooms), so that there's enough room and seating for the brides and their families. We were warmly welcomed when we got there, and immediately shown the layout of the store. My mom and sister helped me to start pulling maybe about 4 or 5 dresses, one of which I'd tried on at Vows (but was cheaper here!) and really liked. Really really liked. But I wasn't sure it was the ONE. Maria and Nivia were helpful when I needed them to be but not at all pushy or demanding, but when they saw I was wavering a bit the daughter went and pulled another dress she thought I might like, perfectly within my budget. I tried it on, walked out of the dressing room and BAM. That was it. My mom, sister, and I were all speechless. It was stunning. It was the one. Even when we knew it was The Dress, there was still no pressure at all to buy. Which I really appreciated. Fast-forward a few months, and I get the call that my dress has come in! My sister's schedule was busy and my mom was coming in from out-of-state to be there with me, so the owners made a special accommodation and opened the store up a half-hour early for us, so that we could see the dress and have the store to ourselves. She said when brides try THEIR dresses on for the first time she likes them to get to have that moment. Then, I tried it on. The moment of truth. It fit pretty much PERFECTLY - her measurements were spot-on. And the length? Unbelievably perfect. She actually pumped her fists in the air, cheered, and did a little dance she was so happy for me that alterations would be so simple. I only purchased a brides maid dress here, but it was a great experience. The shop is small but carries many designers. Their wedding dresses were gorgeous. To try things on it is appointment only (Not like David's Bridal) ...You just put a deposit down and pay when you pick up your dress You also have the option to use your own tailor. The sales were extremely helpful and very nice. They were not snotty at all-you can tell they love their jobs...........I would put this on your list of shops to check out if you are in a wedding or are the bride. read more

This review is long overdue, but I cannot recommend Camilla's highly enough! I found my dream dress there, but I didn't realize it until I had tried on what seemed like half the store, and then left and gone to another store to try on even more dresses. The staff members at Camilla's were phenomenal and didn't pressure me at all, and when I came back a few hours later without an appointment to re-try on one of the dresses they had picked out for me, they squeezed me in without a problem. Also, since my wedding was only 3 months away from the day of my appointment, they made sure to only show me dresses that could realistically be ordered in time for my big day. I had a wonderful experience with Camilla's Bridal! I had an appointment for a Thursday night, and brought my mom, maid of honor, and future mother-in-law. The staff were amazing! I brought in a few photos of dresses I liked, and they pulled some that matched as well as had us pull ones that we wanted. After trying them all on, I knew the first one was my dress. Even so, Maria told me to sleep on it and call them tomorrow if I want to go ahead. I went back in that Saturday, got measured up, and placed the order. Once my dress was ready, they were great about setting up an appointment for me to pick it up. It all fit perfectly! No alterations needed outside of adding a bustle! And they let me stand and stare at myself in the mirror for awhile...not rushing me out of the way. I love Camilla's Bridal! read more

I wish I could give Camilla's 10 stars! I got married last July and have meant to write a review ever since, better late than never! My search for my wedding dress was... rushed, to say the least. Our wedding was very low key and I originally wasn't planning on getting a fancy wedding dress. About 2 weeks before the wedding, my mom flew into Boston and she suggested that we just go and look "for fun." So to appease my mother, we went dress shopping. we went to a few of the big department stores and nothing blew me away. I live in Arlington and knew there was a bridal shop right on Mass Ave but had never gone in. So we went to Camilla's and poked around. We we're greeted immediately even though there were at least 3 other brides all having fittings at that moment. The first thing I said was "The wedding is in two weeks..." No scoffing, no fussing, Camilla just put a hand up and said "ah! then we are limited to the sample rack." She asked me about the style I liked, my budget, the vibe of the wedding, and in about 5min, she had 10-12 dresses pulled out and got me into a changing room. I spent about an hour and half trying on dresses and the whole time Camilla and one of the tailors assisted me, pinning fabric back or bulldog-clipping the dresses to fit. Lo and behold, I found one that ticked all the boxes and I loved it. It had to be taken in and adjusted but I was assured it could be rushed and ready in time for the big day. I only had to do 2 additional fittings, one at the tailors home, but it was done in about a week; I had maybe 5 days to spare before the wedding! I went from not wanting a wedding dress, to finding the perfect dress 2 weeks before my wedding and having a great time doing so. I cant thank Camilla and her team enough for being so accommodating considering the timing. The experience was friendly and everyone was very respectful of me, my time, and my needs. I have had the nicest experience at Camilla's. I have been to many shops from large to small- this store has the nicest staff (mother and daughter team) and the best ambiance. I am about to purchase my gown and will let you know in a year when it's all said and done. So far, they have let me try on my dress numerous times, bring all my friends to see it, helped me try on over half the dresses in the shop...etc. I've always gone during the week at off peak hours- I highly recommend that time for all dress shops. Also, Camilla's has the best best best prices that I have found in the Boston area, I don't know how they do it. read more
