Barb knew EXACTLY what I was looking for and was able to find me the most stunning dress and I even canceled another bridal shop appointment I had as a backup because I knew she found me the one. Allegria was a wonderful experience to find my wedding gown a few days ago! Compared to other stores, it was so much easier to focus here as we were the only party in the store at the time of my appointment. The staff let me try on as many dresses as I could find in the store, and were so knowledgeable about adjustments that could be made to each style. My one piece of constructive feedback is that the inventory here is on the smaller side. For me, it was incredible because I knew what I was looking for, but for a bride who wants a very wide selection of styles and designers, this could be a drawback. I was visiting Boston in September 2020 and decided to visit this bridal store. I went in and was instantly impressed with Julie, so much so that I purchased my dress from them. I knew that would mean another trip back up north from Atlanta, GA but I didn't care. I went back in March and all the staff were very friendly and accommodating. I was able to get all of my alterations completed within the week I was up there. They offered to ship my dress to me (for a nominal fee) so I did not have to worry about dragging it through the airport. Since I was getting married within 6 months, I quickly researched multiple bridal salons. I knew I had a short time frame to find a dress, so it would be ready on time. I asked a couple of friends for their suggestions/tips, and as they recommended, I went to no more than 5 places. Most of the dresses either did not fit my body type or where not my style, which was very frustrating. I reached out to Allegria based on reviews I found. Within a few hours of contacting them, they booked an appointment that worked with my schedule. They were the 5th and final place! Once I was there, Barb made me feel so welcome and at ease. There was no pressure to find a specific style, but rather she listened when I mentioned what I did and did not like. I tried on 4 dresses and the second dress turned out to be the ONE! The minute I tried it on I felt so comfortable and so much like myself in the dress. It was a simple silhouette, off-the-shoulder, with beautiful beading down the back. I wanted just a touch of embellishment/embroidery and Barb help me select the perfect belt that accented the dress. I also really enjoyed working with Lucia, the seamstress recommended by Allegria. I came home to Boston to shop for a wedding dress for my April 2021 wedding in Los Angeles. I had an image in my mind of exactly how I wanted to look on my wedding day, but I couldn't quite find it at any of the three salons I visited. Allegria was my last stop, I described to Barb what I wanted, and she nailed it! I was looking for a long-sleeved, lace A-line, and had previously refused to put on a strapless gown. Barb had the vision and creativity to put me in a strapless dress and then show me how the designer could make a long-sleeved bolero to go on top. The gown and bolero ended up absolutely seamless, including the buttons we had added on, and I never could have come up with this piece on my own. Barb went out of her way to make sure I was 100% satisfied and I'm so grateful that I trusted her with my dress. The pictures speak for themselves! I also can't write this review without mentioning Luciane, the alterations expert! She worked around my schedule (I flew back to the East coast for the alterations process) and accommodated me by having my fittings and completing the alterations all in one week. She is friendly, detail-oriented, and masterful at her craft. Lastly, I'll note that Barb and the whole Allegria team made the cross-country shipping process so easy--my dress arrived in perfect condition and in plenty of time for my wedding. I'm so happy I got my wedding dress at Allegria, because it's not just about finding the dress, it's the attention and dedication they have for every bride that makes the difference. The salon is much less hectic than other bridal salons I went to (sometimes you feel rushed, or feel like you have to race the other brides to the racks!). I went to Allegria Bridal yesterday for the Eve of Milady trunk show. It was an absolutely perfect morning: the salon is beautiful and quiet, the staff is friendly and helpful, and the selection of trunk show gowns was just exquisite. It was my first time shopping for a gown, and the beauty of every single Eve dress literally took my breath away! Barb was so lovely, she let me and my 3 guests pick out as many dresses as we wanted, made a few suggestions and was conscious of our budget. After trying on at least 7 or 8, I narrowed it down to 3 dresses, and tried each on for a second time to help make my decision. Fantastic! I'd been to 2 other salons before I got to Allegria. Their selection is fantastic, the staff super helpful . I didn't think I'd find my dress their because alot of the dress were above what I wanted to pay. But the consultant helping me, pulled a dress from their sample rack that I had missed, and it was the one. And such a fantastic price! I got a beautiful A-Line/modified fit and flare, silk organza with alencon lace and my catherdral veil, and custom belt for under my budget, so I should come right in budget with alterations! I called to make an appointment to try on dresses with some close family members last December and they had plenty of availability. We came in the morning and had the whole place to ourselves. Upon arrival Barb was so helpful with showing us where everything was and letting us go throughout the store to choose which dresses I should try on. She patiently helped me try on 6-7 gowns and even suggested I try on the first gown again, as I knew it was "the one". I did some custom alterations, so it took a little longer than expected to come in, however Allegria was always quick to respond to my e-mails requesting updates. I do wish they were more proactive in keeping me updated, as I had to inquire multiple times about the dress status when it was late coming in, and then had to email them when I waited for 2 weeks while they were waiting for new straps. But, every time I emailed them I got a quick response back, usually in less than 24 hours, so I can't complain. I recently received my dress and it is beautiful and fits great! Thank you Allegria for making my wedding dress shopping such an easy, wonderful, and special experience! I visited a few other bridal salons in the southern Maine area after going here and their selection and experience was nothing compared to Allegria. Had a wonderful experience bridesmaids dress shopping at Allegria's yesterday! Went in with a vague idea of what my daughter's vision of what she wanted her four bridesmaids to look like thinking we'd just take a look and get a better idea. The selection was amazing, almost overwhelming, but with Kaitlyn's expert help we had it narrowed down and were happily trying on dresses in moments! The boutique has a curated and thoughtful dress selection of the most beautiful gowns. The process of trying on dresses felt amazing which, for someone who is not a size 6, is not always the case. Jen, my consultant did a remarkable job of getting me into each dress and clipping the back with whatever it needed so that i could really see what the dress looked like on. I have been to several bridal stores, and I must admit that Allegria is on the bottom of my list. I was extremely disappointed with the service. Actually the only way to get any service is to get an appointment. If you walk in they fail to acknowledge you which really angers me. I'm sure they are the nicest stuck-ups in the world when they are assigned to you because they want you to buy something! They carry some of my favorite designers: Judd Waddell and Rivini but they prices were out of my league, starting from $2000 and up. They offer a sale rack and also a sample sale which can be found online but there's a reason for those dresses to be on sale...because no one wants them. I do not like that they don't provide the price of the dresses on their website. It certainly would have saved me the trip of coming into the store. I did like the fact that they also had bridesmaid and flower girl dresses but again they were so expensive. Both kinds of dresses were around $200 and up. There is no way that I would pay $200 for a 3 year old kid to wear. I mean, come on here, I can certainly find an Easter like dress for the kid to wear that is at least half the price! Parking is plenty on the street so don't worry about that. If you want to be noticed though make sure you make an appointment. Before I forget, I have also made phone calls to the store prior to my entry. I asked the girl on the phone if they did alterations for wedding dresses that we not their own. She blatently told me a lie. She said that there was a two year waiting list and that they do not do alterations for outside dresses. Well how the heck can they have a two year waiting list if they have people currently buying dresses from them? Are these brides not getting their dresses altered either?? read more

This place saved my friendship with the bride! Long story short, the bride of the wedding I'm in, asked everyone to get their dresses at Alexandria's in Fall River. I live in Cambridge and found out I could get my dress nearby (at Allegria's) and it would be cheaper than from the other store. So I assured the bride that the dye lot difference wouldn't matter (I've been a bridesmaid 9 times, it's never been a problem) and that I would get my dress closer to me. The bride told me to get violet, so violet I ordered. Fast forward, the dress came in a couple weeks ago and I came to get it and had them take a pic of me in it to send to the bride. She came back saying it looked a lot darker than the other dresses. Texts of dress photos went back and forth and I wasn't sure if it was the lighting or the actual color. So I planned to meet up with another bridesmaid to compare colors. The dresses WERE significantly different. This was not a dye lot variation, this was a totally different shade of violet. I freaked, and then tried to figure out what I could do to fix it. I called Allegria and they said they could order another dress but it would be the same shade as the dress I already had, which was violet. They had showed me the swatch card and verified it was violet. The more I looked at the swatch care and the other dress color, the more I started to think the other dress wasn't violet, but frosted violet. I called Alexandria's to see if they had ordered frosted violet, and they were rude on the phone, but confirmed they ordered "violet" dresses. Next step was to call the designer, Alvina Valenta, directly. When I called, conveniently their customer service line was down. How lucky that was, as I got someone directly on the design floor instead. She took pity on my sob story, that I said I was afraid I was going to have to drop out of the wedding, and that I think the other store was lying about the color dress they ordered. Well she said she would look up the order, call both stores and as she wasn't supposed to talk directly with customers, she would have my store, Allegria, call me back and follow up. and 2 days later the most amazing thing happened. Kate from Allegria called me and informed me I was right! Alexandria's HAD ordered frosted violet dresses from Alvina Valenta. AV emailed over (on AV letterhead) a letter confirming Alexandria's frosted violet order, NOT VIOLET, and then Kate told me that AV and Allegria were going to put in a rush order of a frosted violet dress for me (I only have 6 weeks before the wedding), waive the rush fee, AND give me a 25% on the dress. Absolutely amazing! So I'll be getting the correct color dress with enough time for alterations and they also gave me a swatch card to show the bride. And show the bride I did. She realized, too late, that she DID pick violet, not frosted violet, but Alexandria's ordered frosted violet instead, and then tried to lie about it, but labeling all the dresses that came in as VIOLET with their own label. So the bride can't change the color now but basically only found out about this because of Allegria and the designer going ABOVE AND BEYOND for me. thank you thank you thank you. If I hadn't found this out, and didn't get a new dress, the bride would have always thought the color difference was my fault and it could have really damaged our friendship since I had insisted about going to another (cheaper but better) store. As soon as the bride gets her wedding dress from Alexandria's, I'm going after them to pay for my initial dress since it's their fault I ordered a violet one and not frosted violet. I called to make an appointment to look at bridesmaid dresses and told them very quickly that I was actually a bride but was looking for a much simpler wedding dress. Ok, I said I would report back. Fumi, the main seamstress there is AWESOME. I love her. She's not only really great at what she does, she's just really, really nice. Also, just wanted to echo what someone else said about the bridesmaids dresses. They have a large basement room devoted entirely to bridesmaid's dresses (they carry Jim Hjelm, Amsale, Siri, Alvina Valenta, and Anna Elyse). When you make an appointment you get the whole room to yourselves. I found the staff very helpful and we picked a Siri dress that I love, plus extra matching fabric to make matching ties and other odds and ends. One note: the only way to get to the basement is down the stairs, so definitely not wheelchair accessible. read more

I purchased my wedding dress in May from Allegria. I absolutely loved it here. It is a gorgeous salon that has high ceilings, perfect lighting, and huge mirrors. Plenty of seating for the people you bring as well. I was trying to purchase a gown on the more affordable side, which they have a reasonable selection of, and was in the section with budget appropriate dresses while my bridal party and mom were looking at far more expensive gowns. My mom insisted I try on a pricy dress, and my stylist was so awesome about the whole thing. She showed me the dress and told me how much it was and said if I put it on I would leave the salon in tears - either tears of happiness if I went way over budget, or tears of sadness because nothing would ever compare to it. She did not pressure me to go out of my price range at all which I really appreciated. I did decide to try the gorgeous Matthew Christopher gown on anyways, and fell completely in love. When I showed it to my bridal party, everyone knew it was the one and my mom surprised me by paying for the whole thing. It was truly a beautiful day and the staff made us feel comfortable, and took great care of us. The service at this salon was A+. Its by appointment only which they tell you on their website but that ensures that you will have someone there who is able to focus directly on you. The range of prices is about $1000-7000 which is not cheap but not crazy for bridal and they frequently have trunk shows. Once my dress came in, their alterations manager Fumi was a JOY to work with. My family is all from out of town so I was there on my own but she talked about the different choices of alterations with me really focusing on what I wanted and what would look best on me. She was very enthusiastic and helpful. On my wedding day I had more than one person ask if the dress had been custom made for me because it was perfect in every way. We went on a Saturday morning and the downstairs was super-crowded, despite the place being appointment-only. Although we were told dresses ranged from $150+, we didn't find a single dress less than $230 in their decent selection (we were looking for short; long, you're looking at $265+). Claire was very helpful in trying to find some things that might look good on my diverse-bodied bridesmaids, and in the end we found one dress that looked nice, but couldn't stomach the price (they're diverse in income, as well). Note, however: If you buy your gown at Allegria, your friends get 15% off their dresses. Re: Gown, well, I had a very lucky day. Claire had a cancelled appointment and so could help me try on some of the dresses upstairs. I said I'd look at the samples they were selling as-is (I am so very cheap), which included about 25 dresses ranging in size, and she identified one I'd have passed by as worth a try. Her choice was ... awesome. I never want to take it off again. They were very accommodating in making another appointment early the following Tuesday so I could show the dress to my mother, and I walked out the door with it. They recommended an alterations shop down the street (Jeanette's), but I'm a few months away from that. This was the first bridal salon I went to, and while I went to 2 other bridal salons, I returned to Allegria to re-try on the dress I ultimately ended up buying days later. Julie was my consultant and she was GREAT! She allowed me and mother, aunt and BF to pick out dresses while she pulled options as well and the first dress I tried on (pulled by Julie) ended up being the one! When I went back to purchase the dress with my mom, Debbie helped me out and was equally as great. She was very considerate and helpful and made the entire process so easy. They just renovated their entire salon and it's gorgeous. It's clean, bright, easy to shop in, the dressing rooms are great and the main salon has a spacious seating area for your friends and family to watch you in the full wall mirror. They have great designer collections there and their prices are definetely resonable for major name brand designers. I'm so happy I purchased my dress here, the staff really listened to what I wanted, didn't pressure me to buy my dress the day I was there and just made the entire process so easy and stress-free. I went here to look for Bridesmaid dresses because of their extensive Jim Hjelm collection. You definitely need an appointment if you want someone to help you. Tracy was extremely helpful. We went during a trunk show and the girls tried on a few dresses. With each dress Tracy showed us different ways we could alter the dress to make it look completely different. (we are talking minor alteration here, nothing expensive) We ended up buying the dresses through Allegria. When the dresses came I had one of the bridesmaids pick up for everyone. When we got the dresses home and tried them on we realized that the hem wasn't straight on any of them. We immediately called Tracy who had us bring the dresses back. She ended up sending them back to Jim Hjelm to have them fixed ( no additional charge) and made sure that we had them back in time. She kept me up to date on the progress of the dresses, and in the end they were beautiful. One of my bridesmaids was in NY with the dress getting it altered before we realized the hems we all messed up. Tracy paid for the alterations to fix the hem! Of the many bridal boutiques I've been to all over the country, Allegria was hands down one of the best. I found my reception dress here, and wish I had found my ceremony dress here too. Unfortunatly I fell in love with that dress at a Waltham store (that I won't mention here) who lacked quite a bit in the customer service department. Allegria was my saving grace. I also got my bridesmaid dresses here - from a Jim Hjem trunk show. They were and have continued to be OVER the top helpful with my large (9) bridal party. With 9 girls things can sometimes get a little crazy. For example, one girl paid more for hers to be shipped to her house. When I told her I was picking up everyones, she was super apologetic. I was more concerned that she paid more then she needed to...trying to make sure the girls didnt spend any more then they had to. Because the order was not placed yet, Allegria had no problem refunding her the shipping charge. It's so nice to work with friendly, accomodating people! They also have sent me reminders about when it's time to do things - such as plan for alterations for my gowns. They won't have anyone in store for the time of year my wedding is (May) but passed on a list of recommendations. What else can I say? The store itself is gorgeous. I usually don't leave reviews but I have to say Allegria went above and beyond to help me find my dream wedding gown. I visited over 50 salons and Allegria Bridal had amazing consultants and beautiful dresses. They were patient and very accommodating. I ended up going with a Matthew Christopher wedding gown, custom straps and a custom veil. Everything was perfect. Thank you to all of the staff!! read more

I would really recommend to brides etc...to not go here!!!! The owners and women who work there, are rude and stuck up. They want your $$, and will do everything possible to get it. Starting with answering the phone and with barely saying hello they immediately say.."we don't sell anything less than $2000" aka if your budget is under that don't shop here. ( let me insert my eye roll here ) because I know for a fact they have some gowns there that are under that!! Also, if you're slightly bigger than a size 16, they will make you order a bigger size and charge you way more. Which is not ok!!!! I guess I can kinda get extra fabric and extra length can cost more...but I'm sorry, that's just rude to flat out tell women, well right when you're over a certain size you need to pay more!! I've been to other bridal places who do not say / do that!! All that being said, these women DO NOT care about you, they want your $$$! they think since they're in Belmont they are some really high end classy bridal salon. Just because you're in Belmont, doesn't give you the right to be stuck up snobs who think they're sooo much better than other bridal salons! So yes that being said, I would avoid this salon!! There are many other laid back / great bridal salons out there!! End rant. read more

I didn't actually end up getting my dress here (it was such a close miss) but I did think the store and my consultant Erica deserved a review either way! They were amazing and my experience here was so inviting and relaxing. It wasn't over crowded and I felt no pressure when trying to find the right fit. Even though I didn't end up buying here I would 100% send friends here in the future and will probably be back for my bridesmaid dresses! read more

I had a very good experience here lately. I was a little worried, because Belmont has quite the fine reputation (Mitt R. lives there, of course) and I thought the prices might reflect that. Figuring I would get to see some nice dresses, though, I made an appointment. Once I was there, they allowed me the time to try on several different dress styles. My sales person, Barbara, definitely steered me towards the right look for me. They won't allow you to take pictures, as is customary. However, they have a webcam! My parents live out of state and this allowed them to view a couple of my favorites. Without question, they picked the same one Barbara did... and it was a sample on sale! It was actually ALOT cheaper than I had expected, but was by far the best quality I had seen yet in any bridal salon. I was impressed that they pointed me towards the discounted samples. I will recommend friends in the future to go here! I also definitely think they should advertise the webcam more! read more
