Finished shower, with two types of tile, niches, seat, grab bar, and glass in place.
Mike L.

We recently got the master bathroom remodel we've always wanted--but way sooner than we thought. We had some gradual water damage, and were worried that it was a lot, since we saw signs of it on the floor and the shower wall. We spoke with a few contractors, but Dave's calm, down to earth manner, and his vast knowledge told us he was the right one. His quoted price was fair as well, and the project stayed within that budget. Once he and his brother Keith tore everything out, we found that the damage wasn't as bad as feared, and easily fixable. The installation of our old jetted tub, decades ago, was the cause. He replaced the damaged part of the plywood subfloor, and took measures to ensure that water would not be able to travel down or up through the subfloor. He also used products that created a reliable moisture barrier around the walls and floor of the new shower enclosure. I really appreciate his attention to the structural part of this job, the part that you don't see, but is critical to the success of a bathroom. Once the structure was rebuilt, he then created a beautiful bathroom. Created a new shower enclosure, with a bench seat and wall niche (for soap, shampoo, etc.). Moved the drain to the center. Installed two kinds of tile on the walls, and a third one on the floor. Installed all hardware. Redid the entire bathroom floor tile. Installed a new toilet, with a bidet seat (hey, we decided to go a bit upscale). Installed a brand new bathroom fan (we wanted to get rid of steamy mirrors and protect our investment). The standout part of all this was his attention to detail, and fit and finish. Completely professional and modern. Dave worked well with the Sacramento County inspector too, to make sure that everything is up to code--although Dave's work already is up to code. He didn't need to be told what to do. He also recommended a great glass company to put in the glass door enclosure for us, and a great resource for tile, Floor And Decor. On a side note, Dave was downright fun to work with too. He's got a great sense of humor, which is a plus when you're working through something as invasive as a bathroom remodel. We ended up with a master bathroom that is a real showpiece. I will happily recommend David Wilson Construction to anybody who needs work done in their home.

If you want to hire the nicest guy in the world, who also happens to be extremely skilled and knowledgeable, Dave is your guy. He got our bathroom done in a very reasonable amount of time, and was very conscientious of the fact that it was our only bathroom and the inconvenience that would cause us. He gave us sound advice and guidance throughout the whole process, and really valued us understanding what was going on and why. Which we REALLY appreciated it. He always took the time to explain something we didn't understand and was very patient. Our bathroom was a moist dungeon before Dave got his hands on it. It didn't have a window, the tub was a plastic insert type of tub with a plastic bar inside. The floor was old vinyl that had seen better days. The toilet seat's lid was coming off. We hated it. And Dave worked his magic and gave us the bathroom of our dreams. I enjoy being in my bathroom now. Instead of taking the quickest shower possible I now take a long bath every single day. We can't thank Dave enough for his professionalism and skill. We have since hired him for other jobs around our house and have and will continue to recommend him to anyone in need of a good contractor.

After Remodel

Highly recommend David Wilson for remodels. He just finished remodeling my shower and I am very ...very... pleased with the outcome. I had been wanting to remodel it for some time now, but took my time deciding on the right person or company. What I liked about David, is that he did the entire remodel. I felt very comfortable with him being in the home when I was gone, not to mention that he entertained my cry baby dog who loved him to death. I had to literally lock my dog away because she would not leave him alone. David recommended a few places to get the materials and I ended going with Floor and Décor. They were very helpful and helped me with the design and materials. Very different from what I had originally had in mind. One other thing, his price was less than the other bid I received. You may have to wait awhile for him, as he is busy, but I didn't have a problem with that because I wanted the right person. Best to call him instead of through Yelp. I didn't get a response through Yelp, but immediately when I called. I have posted some pictures of the before and after of my shower remodel. I just love it.

Before David!

This was long overdue, but my house looks amazing! Thank you David! David and his brother worked long into the night to complete the work on my house so I could move back in as quickly as possible. They totally transformed my living room. They tore out a wall and rerouted a gas line and electrical switches, fixed my subfloor and added beautiful baseboards and door casings. David even fixed the window casing without me even asking to have it match the newly done door casings. I'm in love. Thank you! PS, don't mind all the clutter around the house in the "after" photo.

Paint drip I had to sand

Pretty disappointed. After coming highly recommended from a co-worker, I suspect he's too busy and doesn't do enough of the work himself to have good quality control and follow through. The main remodeling work was sound and satisfactory, and the structural and technical work seemed good. Communication during the project was good and a lot of effort was made to get the right materials and help with choosing the right things. All of this I really appreciated. However, the finish work like painting, grouting, caulking and wall texture were often sloppy and rushed. I had to touch up a lot of bad painting and dings in places that were not as obvious at first glance. But we live here, so of course we'd eventually notice. It seems a shame to do such a poor job at the finish work after so much effort. I did give them numerous opportunities to fix things...and they did fix some things, but just didn't seem to want to bother to spend a little extra time to make the details right. The last time I contacted him, to fix the grout, he never showed up. Unfortunately, I won't be hiring them for our kitchen.

Words cannot begin to describe how wonderful Dave and his brother Keith are. They have completely calmed our nerves about a bathroom remodel. Talk about high quality people! I will forever recommend David to anyone that needs work done on their home. He has created one happy customer. These guys know what they are doing!

After a frustrating remodel experience a year ago, I was very hesitant to finish my bathrooms. The thought of yet another stranger in my home, and the stress of timing and costs had me nervous. However I met with three contractors for bids, and David was my top choice. He was professional, kind, knowledgeable, within my budget, and put my mind at ease immediately. His work was impeccable, he was on schedule, and we just wrapped up....both bathrooms are beautiful!!! I'm so happy I got it done. I would recommend David to anyone, and I will use him for future projects!

Here is the doggy door!

David came out very quick after my husband contacted him about putting in a doggy door in our wall. The wall had previous damage from a palm tree getting too large and broke through the stucco. This I'm sure was a small job for David, but he was very professional and he did a wonderful job. He finished the job in just a few short hours. We highly recommend him for any job you may need!

Before

First of all, this review is long overdue! Sorry to David for taking so long! We cannot say enough good things about David and David Wilson Construction and give him our highest recommendation! We first met David in the summer of 2018 when we were soliciting bids for the renovation of our master bathroom. We found David on Yelp and were impressed by the photos we saw of his work and his 5-star rating. He definitely lived up to his reputation! Here are things that you should know about David: 1. He is easy to get in touch with and a great communicator. He responds to phone calls and texts; we had no trouble setting meetings with him and he was always on time. 2. His prices are fair and transparent. He provides an easy-to-follow cost breakdown and payments are made in installments (so whenever he completes one of the items on the list is when payment is due). He also educated us about rules for dealing with contractors in general which were very helpful to us as construction newbies! 3. He provided helpful recommendations about many of the construction choices (materials, brands, design, etc.) but never pushed us in one particular direction. 4. He is mindful and respectful of client concerns. Our daughter was born just before the renovation was started and we were worried about lead, asbestos, and construction dust in the house. David worked with us and our abatement team to make sure our house was safe for when we all moved back in. 5. He (and his brother, Keith, the other half of his crew) worked nights and weekends to make sure the job was done on time, enabling us to move back in! It is not easy to be away from home with a newborn and we are so thankful to David for the long hours he put it to get it done! 6. The finished product was beautiful (photos below)! Perhaps the most important thing to know about David is that he is a true craftsman and takes pride in his work. We are so happy with our new master bath! We would absolutely hire David again and would recommend him to friends! We already have a list of projects that we want him to work on. Thank you, David

We lived in our house for four years and finally decided we could no longer live with our bathroom. I won't go into all the reasons, but it was a mess. The house was built in 1925 with only one bathroom so we needed to get it right. We contacted five contractors to bid for the job. Of the five, two would only talk to us on the phone, and one company sent an 'estimator' who could not answer any of our basic questions. When David arrived, one of the first things he did was crawl under the house to get a full understanding of the job. This impressed me mightily. Of all the bids, his was the most detailed and certainly the best overall pricing. Deciding to go with David wasn't a hard choice to make. This was a learning experience for us as we had a number of decisions to make. But David was always there with expert advice every step of the project. We basically got everything we asked for, and more. David took it down to floor joists and studs and built us an amazing bathroom. We couldn't be happier. The old bathroom was an embarrassment but now it's a room that draws nothing but compliments (and envy). I can only imagine the increased dollar value this has added to our home. David is a master builder. He is incredibly knowledgeable in every aspect of construction. I can't recommend him highly enough.

Remodeled our master bathroom and did and outstanding job. Could not be happier. Very professional, well done job. No corners cut.

I knew this wasn't good, as fungus means moisture and dead stuff (old wood). Thankfully this isn't a "M word" story (mold). But anyone would be concerned by a weird intrusion like this so I had Good Life come out and check it out. I had been dealing with real estate recently, and I was somewhat familiar with Good Life for home inspections so I gave them a shot at this repair. Project Manager Eugene arrived with one of the construction crew and they explained what they could do to assess the problem. We scheduled them to come out and pull off some drywall and do a moisture test. The next day they were able to confirm that water was getting into the wall from a part of the outside stucco and had caused extensive dry rot down to the studs. Obviously, this is where it sounds expensive. Eugene explained in detail what needed to be done to repair the damage and to prevent a future leak. He emailed me a detailed repair with a reasonable estimate, including an up front discussion on change orders that may need to be made. I approved the estimate online and felt confident that the guys knew what they were doing. Over the next week or so the crew from Good Life worked efficiently and professionally to remove the old stucco, wood and insulation and treat the fungus affected area which about 10 feet high by 8 feet wide on the exterior. Eugene called or updated me on the daily progress in-person and was very professional. The crew was Ukrainian and spoke some English along the way but Eugene and a couple others explained everything clearly. After a couple of detailed change orders the crew put the front of the house back together with fresh wood, insulation, stucco and a brick veneer that looked especially challenging. I was very impressed with the crew's versatility in how those guys were able make the house look the same down to the paint and the landscaping that was in front. Good Life did great work and made my house look good as new. They worked quickly and effectively and left a very clean result inside and outside. The cost was a good value for the amount of work I saw completed and the attention to detail. I would definitely call Good Life again for repairs, but hopefully we're done with anything at this level. Great job guys.

Would not recommend Rose Remodeling - we met with this company at the Home show and set up an appointment- the sales rep (Eric) came out on the 4th in the evening, took measurements, we went over what we wanted and he said he would get us an estimate - haven't heard a peep - don't waste your time as they will waste yours and not communicate - he also kept saying "this is going to be expensive" without even knowing our budget. My husband was concerned that the sales guy didnt act like he knew what he was doing when talking through what we wanted, measuring - then we sat our our table for 15 minutes while he scrolled home depot site showing us shower heads -- I told him he could just send us something as I was losing patience -- so he said he would send us an estimate and left - that was 10 days ago - not an email saying working on it, not a can't do it -- nothing. I appreciate small businesses and want to support them but not to my time and expense. I also understand (from my past experince being a home show participant) that there may be an influx of sales calls, etc..however that is not an excuse for zero communcations after an inperson sales meeting. Poor leadership, sales and attention to detail which unfortunately for the team doing the work could cause more problems. Recommend to owners to be honest - if your sales team doesn't want to do the work or can't - just say so - don't say you're going to do something and never deliver!!! Also, why waste your money at the home show if this is how your sales team operates? If they don't communicate before the project, imagine the lack of communication during the project!!! RED FLAGS! I'm leaving two stars as the sales rep did provide a good picture of work Rose has done in the past that now I can use to show other companies what I want.

I have done a lot of work over the years and am happy to say that if you live in this area, he is your guy. He was fair and honest from the get go. The price he gives you is the price you will pay. I never received any surprise "change orders". As contractors go, Omar was VERY open and communicative. No problems ever getting him or his crew on the phone. He had great suggestions on all things we discussed. Always seemed to know a lot about his work and various things people like. The project was a big one, and I am super happy with how fast it went. He even got started for us over Thanksgiving and Xmas, and his crew would show up on Saturday or Sunday sometimes to keep on working (which was fine with us!). There were no subcontractors involved... everything was through Noor Construction. If we had any minor issues that needed correcting, Omar would come and look at it and tell his crew what to do. We really appreciate the details, crown molding and trim was superbly done, and the tile was just amazing, we are very impressed with his team. I mean seriously anyone who has attempted to do crown molding in the past knows what I am talking about. For details if you've made it this far, our story: Where shall I start. I suppose we start with the idea: build a bedroom in the second floor space of our "great room" which has really tall ceilings... like 30 feet plus. So basically add a bedroom in the second story "empty space" above the first floor. Easy right? Well, after getting ghosted by several contractors, I finally called Omar. He informed he thought we were probably getting ghosted because the architect had told him that footings were needed to support this new bedroom which would be sort of like an island in the middle of the house. We live on a hill, so these support columns would have to go through the first floor, basement, and then under the house. This added to the cost, but we really wanted a bedroom in that space. Omar gave me a price. I told him no thanks, my wife and I thought well maybe we changed our mind as the cost came in higher with the footing work. After a few weeks, we talked it over, changed our minds. We really needed the bedroom. I called him, thinking "gosh he probably won't want our work". Omar came back, no change in price, same deal as before, he didn't even bat an eye, he was ready to go, and this was like 4 weeks later after I told him no. So yea, it was project that I was told was too much for people, everyone didn't want to go get permits or deal with the footings... Omar told us what to expect and stuck to the plan. He dealt with the County and the inspector always came and said even himself "these guys know what they are doing". We passed all inspections. Omar even was super flexible about adding things to the project as we went along, as you know I get ideas about what I might want, we added some carpeting and shelving, and additional tile work that he added at no additional cost to him. He really just knows what he is doing and is super on top of things. So go with Noor Construction if you have the chance, you won't regret it!
