I had a really great experience at Dave's Hot Chicken! The food was fresh, hot, and delicious, and the service made the experience even better. Manny B. , the shift lead, was super nice, welcoming, and helpful. He made sure everything was taken care of and had such a positive attitude. You can definitely tell he cares about the customers and the team. Great customer service overall. I'll definitely be coming back!
Coco raised the white flag after just one bite of the Reaper chicken burger. Coco is from a province in southwest China. Although her province is not as famous for spicy food as Sichuan, it is still a place where people truly love heat. She was the one who taught me how to use chili properly and how to cook in a Sichuan-style spicy way. But even she could not handle one bite of the Reaper flavor at Dave's Hot Chicken. She called it "chemical spicy", not the joyful, flavorful kind of spicy you get from serious Sichuan food. This was my first time visiting Dave's Hot Chicken. I am not really a fried chicken person, and I am definitely not a fast-food person. But I became curious after reading a Business Insider newsletter that ranked Dave's Hot Chicken as one of the most popular restaurant chains in America in 2025. With that kind of praise, how could I not try it? There is no Dave's Hot Chicken near my home, even though the company is headquartered in Pasadena, so I had to drive all the way to Rosemead. This location is inside a plaza with The Habit, IHOP, Chipotle, and other fast-food chains, right in the middle of a heavily Chinese residential area. The restaurant is easy to spot because of its funny screaming rubber chicken logo. I used to like that chicken a lot, especially the screaming sound, even though it is honestly very noisy. The interior has a modern industrial, almost nightclub-like style, with neon lights and graffiti-style murals. Everything is designed to feel wild, young, and HOT. When I walked in, every table was occupied by Latinos, and about half of them were teenagers, loud and clearly having a good time. What surprised me was that there was not a single Chinese staff member inside, even though the restaurant is right in the middle of a Chinese neighborhood. Since there were only two of us, and since I am not a big fan of fried chicken, we only ordered one combo with two sliders. One was Hot, the third heat level, and the other was Reaper, the extreme level. I had the Hot one. It was actually very good. The chicken was crispy outside and tender inside. Even though it was chicken breast, which is usually not my favorite part, it was still juicy. I would probably rank it as my second favorite fried chicken. Jollibee is still number one for me, but Dave's was better than I expected. The chicken itself was good, except for the Reaper one. My recommendation is simple: do not even try it. Coco was sweating and her face turned pale after one bite, and she is a well-known spicy lover. That should tell you everything. Another recommendation: eat the chicken with Dave's signature sauce. I do not know exactly what is inside, but it tasted like it had some honey mixed in, and it worked really well with the chicken. The waffle-cut fries were also good. They were crispy outside, soft inside, and not too dry. Again, the Hot level, which is the third level, is just right. Trust me. Do not go higher unless you are doing it purely as a challenge.
There's a shared parking lot inside a big plaza. There's a lot of space inside with tables and chairs inside. I got Dave's Bites which include 10 pieces of chicken at Medium heat. It's not too spicy. We got our orders pretty quickly. The sauce and chicken were good.
So I'm normally a huge fan of hot sauce these days, but I wanted to give Dave's Hot Chicken a try. It's located in what we fondly call Restaurant Row in Monrovia that goes all the way into neighboring Arcadia. It stands where the old Applebees used to be, and honestly I feel like when they revamped the building it brought a little bit of life and spice to our little town. The restaurant itself is nice and very clean. The tables and small seating area have aluminum chairs with fire house red paint and I love it! Now for the food! Like I said I can't eat super spice foods much these days, but the spice level are available for you to adjust to your taste preferences. I chose spicy for our cauliflower bites, and not gonna lie--the heat made my nose run! lol which meant it was pretty awesome! My kids had the sliders and I've got to say, it's giving some of my favorite chicken fast food joints a run for their money as far as tenderness and flavor! I enjoyed the cheese fries as well along with a nice helping of pickles. Very yummy with spicy food. The service was fast and friendly and we enjoyed our meal as we ate it in the dining room. The ambiance was a cool 80s music vibe and honestly I'm into it! I definitely recommend Dave's and I'm happy to say, spicy or not, I'll be back for seconds!
Second time trying them! Easy to order from the kiosk as you order everything however you like it, which is easy to click. They double check you have everything. Food is delicious. Mac and cheese was decent, as they are known for the chicken. Fries were good as well. Shakes were impressive! Great atmosphere and very clean!
Quality of food has been going downhill for this location. My past two orders have been disappointing in both portion size and taste. The chicken is smaller than what you see advertised and is dry. I've submitted feedback before regarding these issues, but looks like management doesn't care to change. I would avoid this location if you can.
I've gone to Dave's Hot Chicken a few times now. This place has really gone nationwide with stores all over the country. The quality has gone down some, I think, but the quality depends on the location as well. There are some locations that are worse than others. This location is pretty good though. Dave's Hot Chicken will never be comparable to Howlin' Rays, but if you don't want to wait in their lines and just want a decent hot chicken, you can come here. It was my wife's first time trying Dave's Hot Chicken, and she really loved it! We would come back to this location again.
First time at Dave's Hot Chicken, and I'd say it's pretty good. My wife and I shared an order of #2--two sliders and fries--for around $16. I got mine with reaper spice, which was tolerable and decently spicy. The chicken was crispy, and the flavors were well-balanced--overall, a solid pass. The fries were decent, and their special sauce was tasty. The milkshake was thick and sweet. The chicken mascot always gives me a chuckle, and the food is enjoyable. I had a good experience here, and the price was reasonable.

3.8 stars As far as chicken tender & chicken sliders go, I think Dave's hot chicken does a pretty good job. Spice selection goes from no spice to really spicy & the portion was very filling. The pricepoint is a bit higher than I expected for a chicken shop, but I guess that is to be expected in today's economy... I ordered the #2, which was 2 sliders w/ fries ($16.41 including tax). Drinks are a separate charge, but free with Yelp check-in (when I went). Portion was good for me & mom share. Free parking on site. Interior is pretty clean & outdoor seating is available.
If you follow me, you already know I go everywhere, especially when it comes to chicken spots. Some are good, some are just okay, but Dave's Hot Chicken? If you've never been.... It's my favorite. If you're already a regular here, then you know exactly what I'm talking about. I don't know what the method to their madness is, but somehow they manage to serve up the juiciest, most flavorful chicken every single time. I've never had chicken like this, it's a total game changer. I always go for a tender and a slider, and they're always amazing. The spices are incredible also. I always get mine mild, and it's the perfect blend of flavors. Not too much, not too little... just right. You taste the seasoning in every bite without it ever being overpowering. The pickles are on point, the Dave's Sauce honestly deserves to be its own food group, and the vibe inside is just perfect. Great music, friendly staff who totally get it, it's more than a meal, it's an experience. Dave's Hot Chicken is definitely one of my favorite spots to hit up.

Not coming back. 9/2025: Ok i been missing out. Got the bites. Ordered online easy stuff. Customer service quick helpful ordered a hr before close. Price portions great. Got the combo but added a extra fry. Perfect meal size for me. I got hot, they shouldve let pick a hotter level, i guess only for tenders u can get hotter. They have a cheat code they def doing something to the chicken lol. None of the spices overpower each other. Perfect blend of like dry and sauce. Its not saucy but not hella dry. Ooooooweeee that's some finger lickin good chicken sandwich. Their flavor and crunch is diff from other fast food chicken sandwich spots. The chicken came out piping hot too. You have to try it to know what I mean. I ordered 2 sliders combo which came with fries. You can choose the spice level. Drinks are ordered separately. They have a really cool and inviting decor. Second time getting Dave's this week! (Different location) This one is much more spacious than the one in Cerritos. Feels cleaner too. Got Dave's #1 which has two chicken tenders with fries. It also comes with a couple slices of pickles. The chicken is just as good as the other location!!! One of the most tender chicken tenders ever!!! I tried one tender lite mild and the other one mild. The mild is still not too hot as someone that doesn't tolerate very spicy foods. And I loooove their fries!!! Their sauce is so bomb too!! It was a bit busy around 2pm on a Sunday, waited 10 min to get the food. The shakes were ready really fast in just one minute! The shake here seems a bit thicker than the other place though, but still good. Just noticed today that they have a rewards system too! The staff is super friendly and very generous with their sauce. Will definitely be coming back for more! read more

No, they have pretty much 3 basic orders you can place with sides.
Do they do curbside pickup?
No they do not. I do still recommend ordering for online pick up and skip waiting in line! You do need to walk in to get your order.
