So I'm normally a huge fan of hot sauce these days, but I wanted to give Dave's Hot Chicken a try. It's located in what we fondly call Restaurant Row in Monrovia that goes all the way into neighboring Arcadia. It stands where the old Applebees used to be, and honestly I feel like when they revamped the building it brought a little bit of life and spice to our little town. The restaurant itself is nice and very clean. The tables and small seating area have aluminum chairs with fire house red paint and I love it! Now for the food! Like I said I can't eat super spice foods much these days, but the spice level are available for you to adjust to your taste preferences. I chose spicy for our cauliflower bites, and not gonna lie--the heat made my nose run! lol which meant it was pretty awesome! My kids had the sliders and I've got to say, it's giving some of my favorite chicken fast food joints a run for their money as far as tenderness and flavor! I enjoyed the cheese fries as well along with a nice helping of pickles. Very yummy with spicy food. The service was fast and friendly and we enjoyed our meal as we ate it in the dining room. The ambiance was a cool 80s music vibe and honestly I'm into it! I definitely recommend Dave's and I'm happy to say, spicy or not, I'll be back for seconds! read more

Got the combo but added a extra fry. Perfect meal size for me. I got hot, they shouldve let pick a hotter level, i guess only for tenders u can get hotter. I've gone to Dave's Hot Chicken a few times now. This place has really gone nationwide with stores all over the country. The quality has gone down some, I think, but the quality depends on the location as well. There are some locations that are worse than others. This location is pretty good though. Dave's Hot Chicken will never be comparable to Howlin' Rays, but if you don't want to wait in their lines and just want a decent hot chicken, you can come here. Second time getting Dave's this week! (Different location) This one is much more spacious than the one in Cerritos. Feels cleaner too. Got Dave's #1 which has two chicken tenders with fries. It also comes with a couple slices of pickles. The chicken is just as good as the other location!!! One of the most tender chicken tenders ever!!! I tried one tender lite mild and the other one mild. The mild is still not too hot as someone that doesn't tolerate very spicy foods. And I loooove their fries!!! Their sauce is so bomb too!! It was a bit busy around 2pm on a Sunday, waited 10 min to get the food. The shakes were ready really fast in just one minute! The shake here seems a bit thicker than the other place though, but still good. Just noticed today that they have a rewards system too! The staff is super friendly and very generous with their sauce. I upgraded my review after years of not coming back, but today I tried the #2 which is the 2 chicken sliders. I was able to order one non spicy for my wife and one extra hot for myself and it comes with fries and some sauce on the side. It's not a bad meal for 2 people, but with drinks it'll add up to a little under $20. What I liked was the heat on the extra hot. It's like a good 7.5 on the heat level for me. Not too hot, but hot enough for a small burn. The chicken tender coating was crunchy and the chicken was piping hot. That's the perfect combination when it comes to the hot chicken sando. The buns was soft, but was a little flat and thin, but held the sandwich well. The fries were hot, crispy, and not too salty. My family loved it.
