I met with a networking group at this location for a few months from February to July 2018. The service and quality of food steadily declined as we met weekly for lunch. The meeting room where we met was very nicely cleaned as we arrived every week, and made for a professional look to guests. However, the drinks that were available to us changed from week to week. Sometimes we did not even have knives available unless requested which was a problem with a meeting of 20-30 people. I think that if you are a group with children that are there for video games, they may do better. However, they should not market it to business professionals that are looking for good service. First off let me preface this with neither of us have been to a Dave and Busters in a long time, and we distinctly remember it being more adult-oriented; e.g. not nearly as many kids. My first impression when we walked in was "holy cr*p, we're at Chuck E Cheese." Kids running everywhere with little or no adult supervision in sight. We decided to go for dinner last Wednesday because we have both had a long day and wanted some drinks and arcade games to blow off the steam. I'm not sure if this is unique to this location, but it is two levels, with a desk on top of the stairs where you come in. After waiting in line for several minutes, we come to learn that this line is only for buying game cards, you have to go downstairs to get a table. There isn't a sign or anyone making this clear. Walking downstairs we're immediately struck by a heat wave. It wasn't warm; it was hot. I understand there are a lot of people and lights and games all running hot, but honestly we couldn't even hear the AC running. The hostess stand is at the bottom of the stairs, manned by three young women, two of which are behind the stand and one leaning on front talking to the other two. They are happy to ignore us for several minutes while they continue their conversation. Once we get a pager we tried to get a drink at the bar only to give up because it was so crowded and then we started walking around the game floor to see what the night had in store. After wandering around for 10 minutes (about half the estimated wait) our pager buzzed saying our table was ready; which was lucky for D&B, because were about 2 minutes from walking out the door it was so hot. Luckily the dining room was cooler, and we were met by our (overworked) waitress, who took our drink and food orders. Not sure what was up with the food runners, as none of them seemed to know where food was going, we were asked about 3 different times if we had ordered such and such. They would basically work their way down the line of tables until someone said yes. Throughout the night, the bar was very slow, we got our food before we gout our drinks and our refills took a solid 20 minutes. The food was pretty good (I got chicken fingers and my GF got the buster burger). Maybe a little small on the portion size, but we did the play and eat combo, so it was kind of economy. The sauce for the chicken was very good, kind of a tangy, spicy honey mustard. The drinks were good as well, I had a few Painkillers and she had a couple Zombies. After dinner we went to play some games. We played a lot of skeeball, Time Crisis, and Beer Pong (apparently an arcade game now). We were also surprised by Candy Crush and Flappy Bird as arcade games. We had fun playing the games, and it did help us blow off some of the steam from the day. Unfortunately because of the sheer volume of kids and the heat it made it less enjoyable and we had to leave after about 20 minutes. Luckily we had gotten the game card combos and the games are half price on Wednesdays. TL;DR: Too hot, too many kids ruined an otherwise enjoyable experience. LOUD! OMG, we went for lunch and it was SO freaking LOUD! Hubby and I could barely hear each other! We could barely hear our bartender. FYI, there is NO LUNCH menu! For 2 beers and 2 meals it was $60! OUTRAGEOUS! Never again. THEN the bartender kept pushing some card thingy to play games. DUDE, it's our first visit, we don't even know if we're coming back and you're pushing gaming cards!?! There is NOTHING the for average visitor! Hubby got the wings and ribs plate. Had to ask the bartender twice and some young guy with a headset THREE times for ranch dressing to go with his wings. I got some shrimp pasta dish. It wasn't memorable enough to even remember the name or what was in it. We should have gone to the Yard House because the beers were substandard and bland. their lines truly needs to be cleaned. This was my last Dave and Busters in Springfield experience. The bartenders really need retraining could not get service at the bar. My friend tried to waving the bartender down he looked at us but did not acknowledge if he took our order or not. We finally gave up and left. Also the bathrooms really do need a good cleaning that was disgusting and unsanitary for a mens room did not feel comfortable using it. Overall I recommend trying another location the one in Springfield is not a good presentation of the brand. read more

This is one of those places that does a pretty good job considering there are few, if any, competing brands. If you go during the off hours and bring hand sanitizer/wipes, you will have an awesome time with friends or a date. On slow days, especially half-off-points Wednesdays in the early afternoon, I've had a total blast. But, if you go in the evening it will be awful and crowded. I made that mistake one time and it was like a daycare, even as it got late (11pm). So timing matters! read more

We used to go to the D&B at Whiteflint Maryland before it's closed. What not to love? eat something and get tipsy, then to play some video games. I was so excited to come here for my friend's farewell/bday party. IT WAS SO CROWDED! there's people drinking while kids running around, and it felt like they didn't turn on the AC there, everyone was sweating. another problem is, it was impossible to find a parking on weekend near that side of the mall, so you have to walk probably 15 mins to get there. The most inattentive service. We did not get silverware and had to ask for napkins. Waited 40+ minutes for our second drink, despite being told, "I'll be there in one second!" several times. Apparently you are better off sitting at a table, because you will be ignored at the (not even full) bar...on a Friday night! The management in this place is just horrible. I have been to Dave n Busters in other states with no problems. But in this one we had a horrible experience. The only reason we stayed was because it was my son's birthday. (Which they offer nothing for birthdays). We waited an hour for a table, once seated we didn't have any service. We waited 20 minutes before I asked the hostess for a waiter. After another 15 minutes I had to ask the hostess a second time for a waiter. Finally one appeared. She was not assigned to our table and apologized and told us that no one was assigned to our table. She did her best, but we waited another hour for cold, crappy food. I saw many others complaining to managers for a variety of reasons. When the problem is management, the establishment will fail. Never going there again. read more

I had not been out to Springfield Mall since the renovations. They did a great job on the exterior. I couldn't tell what stores were in the mall, but it looks like they had a ton of restaurants. The Dave & Busters being one of them. When we got there it was packed, she told me 20 minutes for a table for three, but if I could find something near the games those are open seating...no such luck. But it didn't take our table 20 minutes. Our server Ashley was very polite and attentive although she had several tables. The games were packed. But the boys (8 and 10) had no problem navigating it. And when they ran into a problem with a game a floor manager was helpful. They were pleased. We all ordered ribs, I've never seen kids eat so much...each kid ate a full rack of ribs, gone. If you are trying to eat here I don't recommend. I went on Saturday with my bf and my family. This was my 3rd time going since my nephew likes to go because he gets to play. Now if it was for me I wouldn't even try it. This is why. If you are just looking to go and play on the machines and have a good time on that. Yes I would go,but do not go on Saturdays it very busy and you have to wait along time to play on the machines. But if you don't mind that go for it. After that I guess the real server came by and we decided to order everything at once because we didn't know when we were gonna see him again. Now the food took for ever and it was a bit cold. 2nd time the server was training and she did a good job she was nice and staying on top of everything. But again our food took for ever to come about literally about 45mins. Now this past Saturday (09-22-18) would be the last time I try to get a table or even food at this place. My bf and I wanted a table so we went to the host to ask what the wait was. She said it was an hour. She said that the tables around the bar are first come first serve. So my bf said let's go check it out. We found two spot at the bar and we decided to take them. Now someone had just gotten up so it was dirty we waited until they cleaned. We sat down and we waited for probably about 10mins and no one even acknowledged that we were there, that bar tender looked at us but never said anything or even try to come To us. Like yes I understand you are busy I work in a restaurant as well I know how things can get. But the fact that they didn't even said "I'm sorry I'll be right with you" or even try to come greed us or acknowledge us. I think there was two bartenders but not even one try to help us out. At that point I was pissed and hungry so I told my bf to get the heck out of there. That I would rather stop by McDonald and get food. The seemingly endless games are super fun for all ages. Noisy place that sound somewhat like a casino. My son absolutely loved it. Great fun! The low rating is for the number of games out of order and the terrible service at lunch. The food to include kids pretzel dog, turkey sandwich, and pork sliders was mediocre at best. The server was terrible. We were 5 people and he only entered 3 orders. So all food was served at different times. He was absent for most of our meal making it tough to get condiments. I never thought I'd say this but I feel that Chuck E Cheese is a better value and experience than this Dave and Busters :/ I went there with my 3 kiddos and utilized the groupon deal. We received 4 power cards and it was hit and miss (mostly miss) on getting those stupid cards to work. I can not being to describe how frustrating it was to insert-remove-insert-remove (x 1000) to get the stupid readers to recognize the cards. There's nothing more aggravating then having your turn be over and frantically trying to insert/remove your card to get another credit before the timer runs out. We exchanged the cards 3 times only to continue to have the same problems which leads me to believe it's the card readers on the games themselves that are the problem (and not the cards). I can't comment on the food since we went into the mall to grab food and didn't dine in. read more

A bad birthday experience....If I could give negative stars, I would. The hostesses and managers have 3 brain cells between them: 2 to argue and 1 to break the tie. I was meeting my family there...awaiting their arrival....and asked the hostess if we could be seated in about 15 minutes. She assured me there was "no wait" and we would be seated upon my family's arrival. 10 minutes later, when my family arrived, the hostess told me the wait was 45 minutes to an hour!!! I asked her if we could be bumped up - since I JUST talked to her and had already been waiting - but her and the manager basically told me, "suck it up sponge-lips....sorry." So we played their games for an hour with the kids and waited over an hour before FINALLY getting seated. No waiter or waitress came - for over 10 minutes - until my wife asked someone if we could at least have our drink orders taken. Finally a waiter came over and I told him we were leaving. I could not drop a hondo on this place after being treated like this. It is over-crowded; horribly managed; poorly staffed. Please play your video games at home and go to Glory Days instead. read more

The only star is for our waiter (Thanks Nicholas!) who was very helpful eventhough the host and manager were unrespectful. Recommendentation from someone who worked in customer service: A SMILE IS PART OF YOUR UNIFORM! Don't bring attitude to your customer service work. By the time we were able to get a table we were left with less space eventhough another table was available right next to ours at the same time. He gave even more excuses as to how it makes more sense to separate a group in order to have 4 people sitting next to us in the empty table. They were suggesting us to move some of us to another table not closeby. Suggestion: Why not sitting those 4 people on the other table and leaving us all together? Doesn't make sense! Managers need to be consistent! You can't have one manager saying one thing and then the other one saying another. Separate sections! I would't bring really young kids to D&B at night since they may be overwhelm by all the noise and the crowd. We had a good time playing all the games and ate a late night snack at their restaurant. The wings were ok but we enjoyed their delicious Brookie Sundae Tower. There's a separate section for people who wants to sit at the bar and catch games on tv. read more

Unfortunately this experience was not one I'd write home about! Definitely need to be careful when ordering food and drinks from this location! We received chicken bites which were uncooked on the inside! After speaking to the manager, he disappeared and never returned to our table! The situation was not addressed! I've called several times to speak with management, and have not been able to get through. I have also called corporate and they have yet to respond either. This is beyond unacceptable! I've been here only once and it's a decent place. The food is nothing to write home about but I am happy to say I won the jackpot in some of the games with relative ease. The power went out for a little under a few minutes and the games didn't work until about.... 10 minutes later? Power cycling and all that jazz. The game I had the most success in was dropping all 50 balls into the bucket in like 30 seconds? The machine was broken because it would randomly spit balls out without me inputting the command so I was honestly lucky to get the jackpot. Reccomend going with only friends and groups. read more

The overall experience of Dave and Busters is a little overrated due to the fact that their food service does not meet the expectations of what they advertise. We celebrated my youngest brothers birthday and for kids they don't mind food not coming out fresh they just want to eat and play. I went to the in Springfield, VA today about 8:15 pm with some family members travelling from out of town. Three adults and 4 kids range from age 8- 13. As I entered the door, I was stopped, and told that there is a $10.00 cover charge, and I was not the only one who was surprise. I believe the sudden cover charge was due to the Floyd Mayweather fight scheduled for that night, and as a result, to enjoy a what is a normal visit, one forced to pay to enter. I have also seen other customers told that if they leave, they would have to pay to return. My family has always been a customer, and given this horrible treatment even after I requested to speak to the manager, I would not be visiting this place anymore. If this was a way to make money, it was a poor choice. If I wanted to watch a fight, other than home, I would have gone to a club, and not 8pm for a fight that scheduled to start at 10: pm. Maybe this restaurant should have better customer service even if it has the rights to set these unexpected rules, or should say to several kids left disappointed, including someone with birthday cake, here are some free token for your next visit rather than calling the mall security to give an impression as if frustrated customer, or acting out of control. Oooooooh!!! My very first D&B's experience and I am thrilled to be bringing up the score a little. Now, we didn't eat here and I get that the food might be a totally different story, BUT we did have a few beers and play a few games. I had been told that this was Chuck-E-Cheese for grownups, but really, this is Chuck-E-Cheese for little kids too simply by nature of being attached to the mall. They can't help themselves. That cacophony of video game bleeps and bloops is a siren's call to children all over the world! If you don't like kids, wait until later at night when the grownups begin to outnumber them. So, the popular games might have a wait and the wait will be confusing because you aren't going to be sure which side to stand on, but whatever -- some kid is probably going to beat you to the punch anyway. Just go over to the skeeball with all the other grownups and relive your childhood. I am horrible at video games, but I still had an awesome time! Kinda like bowling.... man, I suck at bowling, but I always have such a great time that it never matters what kind of game I bowl. I did find that if I could drive or shoot something, I did fairly well. Sadly, the coin drop machines were what really sucked me in....like slot machines or something. Anyway, I agree with other reviewers that it is too hot, too crowded and too noisy, but I also had a lot of fun and am looking forward to coming back to this money trap :D read more

ZERO STARS!!! I have been to other Dave & Buster locations and this one by far has the worst bar service. Went around 5pm with about 10 other customer but there was clearly four bartenders on shift. The first bartender seemed like we were bothering him ordering and barely brought over our drinks. Once our drinks and food arrived, we requested water... 10 minutes later the same bartender decided to finally bring them over. With four bartenders working we were not checked up on ONCE and had to wave down someone to get another drink. The cherry on top was that I personally went and refilled our water glasses!!! This is dismal customer service and not only will I NOT be returning to this location, I encourage everyone not to either. read more

I came here to grab an appetizer before dinner, maybe it was my fault for even thinking it could be a speedy process, but it was not. The bar area was soooooo crowded and we had to wait for someone to come over and clean off the one table that we found over in the corner that was clean. I know places get busy, but I don't like when restaurants are not able to handle their busy flow. Finally we are at the table. We make our order quick, and ask for the check right away so we could get the payment out of the way as we ate. Once again, maybe this was my fault because my order was wrong when it came out and I had already paid. So I had to wait fot them to bring me out the correct wings, and they had the never to ask for the old wings back! Blah! I love arcades and carnival games. Dave & Buster's in Springfield is the closest one near my house... so my boyfriend and I visit here about 3-4 times. Every time we walk into the place, we smell something gross... I don't even know if it's food, drink, or sweat... They need better air conditioning system. The games are fun, but it's nasty! people cut in line, kids running around, and I once saw a broken glass just left on the ground while kids were running around. Since the staff didn't check on it for over 10 minutes, I had to find one and told him to please clean up the broken glass. The bar area is wet and sticky. Super gross!! I recommend to get canned beer or drink because it's not sanitary AT ALL. The staffs were rude too (The bartender couldn't hear me while I was ordering a beer, so he made really offensive face to me.). I feel like last weekend might be my last visit to Dave & Buster's here. I don't know if the manager would see this review, but if he/she does, PLEASE train the staffs properly and clean the place ! read more

Came in on a Wednesday evening and was told the bar area is open seating. Found a table and waited about 20 minutes, with no server, to go up to the bar and get a drink. After almost an hour, we still had not seen a server. We flagged down a manager who told us he would send one over as well as bring us menus. After another 20 minutes the manager never came back and we went up to the bar to get the menus ourselves. Poor establishment, with the worst possible service. In total an hour before we saw anyone approach our table. Do not waste my time. This place needs a serious evaluation of what good service is, cause honey you don't got it:) Used the very unclean bathroom and had two children crawl under the door into my stall while I was using it. Unacceptable, but I guess when your place generates alot of business who CARES about your little $95 your spending, not a nice way to make a first impression. I'll about customer service.
