This is hands down my favorite place! Arcade AND laser tag less than 30 minutes from DC? It's truly a place where you can let your inner child come out. The games are typical arcade games but the two story laser tag area is where Doyle's sticks out. The quickest 10 minute rounds with you and a bunch of your friends just running around. I can only speak to the gaming experience, arcade only, unfortunately no time for laser tag. Although it did come with the Thursday deal $25-2 hours unlimited gaming (no claw machines) and 2 laser tag games. We had the place to ourselves for 90 minutes-the entire length of our stay. Went with a large group last night for happy hour. Really good bites on the menu. I had the chicken sliders with fries. I enjoyed it. Ask for some mayo on the sliders or some type of sauce. Then came the basketball game. My wife and I ended up in a full-blown shooting feud. Trash talk, rematches, "best of three," "no seriously this is the last one" energy. Those little hoops saw more emotional damage than most couples' therapy sessions. Friendly tip: if your relationship can survive a scoreboard, you're probably fine. Once we were done trying to degrade each other through competition, we migrated to the kids' ticket games. You know, the ones clearly meant for 8-year-olds that somehow make grown adults start doing math like, "If I hit the bonus three more times we can have a shot at the PS5 behind the counter." Next thing we know, we're locked into extreme ticket winnings like we're training for the World Series of Child-Friendly Gambling. My friend and I were looking for an indoors activity because it was hot AF. I looked up arcade and found this spot. We bought a card for $40 which we split and that lasted us about an hour and 15 minutes. It's not a big place so if you are expecting Dave & Busters which usually has multiple floors, this is not that. There's a mix of racing games, VR, sports like basketball and skeeball,and Dance Dance revolution and others. The guy working that day also offered to let us try out their newest VR game for free which was nice although my friend found it too overwhelming/got nauseated so we stopped. Went to Doyle's Outpost for a friend's kid's birthday party on a Saturday afternoon. The place was busy with multiple other parties going on simultaneously, but the arcade is big enough to find an open console; so it was still fun. I didn't play laser tag, but they appear to have two bays and the kids said it was fun. You can see inside the laser tag area on one of the TVs by the door. The bar area was decent. A good selection of drink options and QR code menu to make it easier than trying to read the two large menu screens that are constantly changing above the bar. I just finished having my kid's birthday party at Doyle's and let me tell you, I'm 100% impressed! The staff was amazing. We reported that the bathroom was dirty and they were cleaning it 4 minutes later. They recommended flexible menu options for us and the food was great. The person running the laser tag set us up perfectly. I honestly couldn't say anything more. We did have a smaller party with just 4 kids so didn't do the party package but just reserved a table and that worked well for us... just make sure to email them early to reserve that table because they're closed on Mondays and Tuesdays, but no matter what, you won't be disappointed! read more

Game card machines still do not work. (Purchase / upload funds) Main counter (check in and payment) is over loaded with a line due to the game card machine outage. Main counter payment: Doesn't take cash?? WTF. So if you have card at the bar for a tab, you can't pay for anything at the main register unless you bring 2 credit cards or go back to the bar and ask to "borrow" your credit card....then you're back in line twice. Prize counter is often single manned by the check in register person. Adds to the clog. Gaming systems / devices: several have been replaced or updated. But many continue to take your money (card swipe) but will not function. Gaming maintenance support: Last 2 visits - there was no one around to help out with giving card credit when a machine "took" your money. Which as their solution you then go back to the counter line....which is long. Chicken tenders are awesome though! read more

It's fairly new and wasn't crowded, allowing us to try out all of the games. Our favorite games were the huge race car simulation. For all my Cruisin race car game fans, it was like this but better. We were greeted immediately when we walked in and since it was our first time, the gentleman at the counter was patient and took his time with us, to choose the best play option. Main factor of coming here was the big screens advertised in the yelp pictures for sports. Ordered wings and a beer, both were decent. Over all it was low key and the service was great at the bar but the pictures were misleading. It was much smaller than I thought. We didn't play any of the games but the children there were having a ball. Went there with my wife for a date night. It was a Saturday night and hardly anyone was there, which was the first sign. Ate at the sports bar. Food was meh, service was fast though. We signed up for the laser tag game but due to how empty it was, it wound up being just the two of us. We realized after the game had already started that my laser wasn't working properly and tracking my hits. We mentioned to the worker on duty that this happened and they didn't offer a do over or anything. Several of the games were out of service, staff were pretty apathetic when we had questions. We hosted our son's 10th birthday here and they had a BLAST! The space isn't as big as Dave and Busters but I loved it that way. The service was, hands down, the best. They walked me through the various party options, didn't hesitate to get us whatever we needed, and were super attentive throughout the party. The staff in the front were not communicating with the staff running laser tag or perhaps no one had looked at the schedule generally for the day. Either way, the first time we asked for a refund on the laser tag games we purchased but couldn't use, we were told absolutely not. The second time, I walked into the managers office and without making eye contact or taking his ear buds out, the manager asked someone else to handle it. Which they did. Several games were broken and the service in the bar area was terrible. One server (the lady with locs) had an extremely nasty attitude. After being informed that I couldn't take my drink to go, the conversation should have ended there. Instead, she repeatedly walked past me, rolling her eyes and mumbling rude things under her breath as if she wanted to start an issue. The laser tag was fun, but we had to wait for two parties to finish first (weren't told that before hand) While we waited for laser tag we were gonna get something to eat, three people walked past us at the bar and said nothing. Honestly a skeptic walking into this place. Had plans with a large group of friends to meet up here. We were one of the first couples to arrive and we're pretty unimpressed at first but by the end of the night, really didn't have anything I bad to say about this spot. The location was... different. You essentially walk through the entrance of Planet Fitness and its a side door to the right. Location wasn't the best (in terms of being visible for marketing) however it could have been worse. When we walked in, it was a bit hot and muggy but it's likely due to the cold temps tired outside. When we first walked in it was a bit like a typical arcade but as you walk back there was a relatively large bar and a private party space. The bar was clean and the service was good. I will say, drink prices were average but slightly leaned towards the expensive side for their cocktails/specialties. We did not have the opportunity to try their food but everything around us looked decent. Service was KEY.. the General Manager Jason and his counterpart were very professional and knowledgeable. I understand the location is relatively new but as long as there is managerial presence, this spot will be a success. All and all, the good made up for the bad and the service is what did it for our group. All of the servers/bartenders had a genuine sense of desire to help and were readily accessible. I had read several reviews about missIng parts/pieces to the equipment and didn't experience any of this myself (maybe things had cleaned up). Will definitely return. I received an email tonight at 8:30 pm stating they were canceling my son's birthday party that is in 5 days due to scheduling conflicts. Mind you I booked this some time ago with a package that included a party planner. No one contacted us until tonight stating they had to cancel. They offered another time 3 hours prior or to reschedule the next day. We have people coming from out of town and we can't just change their plans last minute. We' ve also sent out invitations to friends and family (the venue stated the package came with invitations but again we didn't hear from anyone.) The manager I spoke to was rude and sounded annoyed that I was upset. Trying to find another venue this close to the date is virtually impossible and costly. This place is a disaster. She said it was not their fault. It was a system error? There was no acknowledgment of the inconvenience nor did she take a responsibility for the company's failures. They also charged a deposit to reserve the time and said they would refund me in up to 10 business days. What a hot mess!!! read more

Just had my daughter's birthday party here today. Big deal because she hasn't had a party since COVID. I booked online a week and a half ago and the process was easy, only took about 5 minutes. I appreciate that they offer packages because I've noticed that since COVID a lot of places make you pay per person which is not at all convenient for kid parties with extra siblings and etc usually showing up. I was followed up with via email to confirm food and head count a week before the party. As for the party itself, everything was flawless. We showed up at 12 (party time) and our host Matt helped us to the table right away. He gave us a rundown of the party schedule and it was followed perfectly. The communication from the staff when telling us what was happening kept the party moving smoothly. All of the kids had a great time playing the arcade games, virtual reality, and laser tag and loved the food and desserts provided. Adults enjoyed the food and beverage options as well. The bartender (didn't catch his name, sorry) made us a blackberry tequila slush that was bomb! I definitely recommend trying a drink or two if that's your thing. A note about the staff, everyone was Amazing! Super friendly and genuinely helpful, even the people who were not attending to our party directly. I wanted to mention this because some of these reviews had me concerned I won't lie lol. But our experience has truly earned this place a solid 5 stars! My review is strictly for the arcade games, laser tag, and the customer service...not the food. This place has a decent selection of arcade games. They also have some VR games, and classics like air hockey. One complaint I have is a number of their machines were off or not functioning when I went with my family. Laser tag was fun. The arena is nicely designed and a good size. We were sweating with excitement trying to zap each other. Lastly, the employee that helped us setup for laser tag was great. However, the other employees that assisted us with the arcade games and the VR game were not. They were not that nice and didn't seem to be in good moods. If I go back, I would hope that more of the arcade games are working and that I have more friendly staff encounters. read more

This place is a complete embarrassment, a scam, and should legitimately be shut down. After spending about $10 on the Whack-N-Win game and winning a few jackpots (enough to win a small plushie), a staff member came over and literally UNPLUGGED THE GAME. When I asked what the issue was, he told me "It's broken!" Clearly nothing was wrong with the game, so when I asked what was wrong with it, he repeated "It's broken!" more angrily, eventually telling me to speak to the GM. I did just that! I asked the GM, Jason, why the game had been unplugged. He made up an obvious lie that the game had been scheduled for service and invited me to try a virtual reality game while they "fixed it." By the time I finished playing and removed my headset, I saw they had reduced the jackpot from 500 to 50! Jason then further embarrassed himself by pretending this was a mistake, and then simply "couldn't find" the game tech (who hid in the back until I left) to fix it. I settled on some other games, but realized one was not properly awarding tickets. (Down the Clown had a 500 jackpot, as it does at nearly every arcade, but the machine would only award 100 if you hit it.) When I told Jason this, it eventually led to him comparing me to a "card counter" and saying I was "hacking" the games. (No, he simply lacks the most basic understanding of the games.) Clearly displeased someone was earning enough tickets for some decent prizes, he told me in front of his other staff members he would cash me out, but that players like me are "asked to leave." Yeah. Attended the grand opening event today. It's clear they still have quite a few kinks to workout but overall had an ok time here. I hope this review is seen as helpful feedback! Doyle's entrance is hidden away by the Planet Fitness in the shopping center. When entering, you'll have to walk through the glass doors walking towards the gym. Parking in this area is horrible so just keep that in mind you may need to park on the upper level and walk down. 1) as a first time guest, there has to be a better way for the person greeting guests to ask if they are part of the VIP group. "You're not VIP, go over there" isn't a great feeling, much better to ask, "are you here for X event?" Or "are you a guest of X" comes off much nicer. 2) the employees didn't seem too confident running the VR game. It took way too long to get the gear cleaned up and reset between games. For a 5 minute game, my mister was waiting for over a half hour when only two groups were ahead of him. He eventually gave up when "VIPs" were brought to the front of the line in front of the long line of people who had been waiting. 3) The place is one long hallway. VR game and prizes up front by the entrance, more games, then the bar/dining area and then laser tag in the back. Not sure how busy it will be on a normal night, but it makes for a very cramped walk from one end to another. 4) looks like they have some tasty drinks and food! I asked for a menu, but quickly changed my mind and was turned off when the wait staff started off by again asking if I was VIP. I mean I know I wasn't, but you really don't need to keep rubbing that in my face when I'm also a guest at your new establishment. 5) many of the games have parts that easily go missing. Balls, rings, bean bags. People were taking these and moving them around and I don't think there were employees actively checking on the games or replacing things. Example: there were two basketball games side by side, but all the balls ended up at only one of them making the other one useless. 6) laser tag was ALOT of fun! Two levels and lots of places to hide and run around. Only thing I suggest is lights to help you find the exit at the end. It was free for the grand opening, normally $9 a game. 7) VR is fun, you get to pick what game you wanna play and we ended up shooting robot samurais I'd probably only stop in if I was at this shopping center with the kids(which isn't likely) but honestly wouldn't make a trip out unless I had a random desire to have drinks and play laser tag! read more

This is a little hole in the wall arcade. We came on a Saturday night and were basically the only group there; I'm not sure it is just because of Covid or because this place is practically hidden. It's in a weird spot right next to Planet Fitness and you won't see it unless you're looking for it. Nonetheless, we had a great time. We got some food (it's not amazing but it's decent, we got some wings) played two rounds of laser tag, and then played some classic games. Biggest problem here was how rigged their claw game was, I mean they didn't even try to hide how bad it was. The claw just goes down without actually closing, comes back up and then decides to close on its way to the drop off. I mean, come on guys. Overall, I recommend coming here for a chill arcade night without breaking the bank. It's very clean, people are nice. Just don't play the claw game. read more

ABSOLUTELY NOT! PEOPLE OF COLOR - RECONSIDER! I had such high hopes for Doyles Outpost. It is conveniently located city outside of DC and who doesn't love an arcade with a bar????! My friends and I went here to celebrate a birthday this past Saturday. The establishment is fairly new and has A LOT of work to do with incorporating diversity within the staff members and should consider exploring and implementing racial discriminatory practices that can be utilized to prevent incidents like the one I experienced while visiting. I'll start the conversation by saying it wasn't busy at all. For a Saturday night, there were plenty of staff members and very few customers. We ordered our food and it took nearly 50 minutes to arrive (we ordered wings and nachos). Once received, the nachos were so cold that the cheese had hardened so I requested that they take them back (Note: nachos are FAIRLY simple and quick). It took over an hour for me to get a new dish but not after I was told that my order was canceled and then reentered into the system 3 DIFFERENT TIMES by 3 different staff members. I was extremely frustrated and hungry, so I requested that they take the nachos off my bill. They obliged, I got my nachos over an hour, in a to go box, we paid the bill - leaving a considerable tip - and headed out. As we were leaving, the manager ran us down, yelling - saying we cannot "walk out on our bill" - essentially, implying that we didn't pay our bill and we were trying to leave without doing so. We explained to her that we did pay the bill and she rebutted saying she was told otherwise by the staff. We had to dig up the receipt and show her because she insisted we weren't telling the truth. OF COURSE - WE WERE THE ONLY PEOPLE OF COLOR in the ENTIRE establishment. Can you imagine how extremely embarrassed and MORTIFIED we were to have the manager come up to us, in front of everyone, insisting we were trying to run out on the bill???? MORTIFIED. I've never experienced anything like this. The manager made a lousy attempt to rectify the situation. She offered us free shots of our choice. This by no means was sufficient but we accepted and gave her our shot orders. They acted as if they were giving us what we ordered but they switched out the shots for a cheaper (well) version of what we requested. WOW. I appreciated how sympathetic the manager was once she realized she was COMPLETELY WRONG. However, this place is not ready to be in the DMV area, with a diverse community of people from all walks of life. The staff needs to be trained on how to treat people who look different from them. Ill never be back and I recommend people of color to reconsider going here. There are plenty of places in the DMV area that offer the same amenities and actually treat you with dignity and respect. read more
