I've been here a few times, and I always receive helpful and friendly service. Its been awhile…read moresince I last bowled in a league so I "needed" a new ball LOL I had ordered a Storm Tropical Surge online for $99 and brought it in to get drilled. If you buy a ball here, then drilling the finger holes is included so in hindsight it would have been more cost effective to purchase the ball here but I wasn't sure they would carry the exact one I wanted - which is scented and smells like birthday cake. Plenty of parking but space to get in and out of the plaza on Pickett can be tight. As soon as I brought in my ball, I was greeted by a friendly gentleman and he asked many questions about my other balls and my grip so we could find the best fit for my new ball. He measured my fingers and it took 15 minutes to get it drilled. Plenty of bowling bags, shoes, balls & accessories to look at while you're waiting. Once they were done, I rolled it down the carpet lane to get a good feel and off I went. They told me to come back if the holes need a little tweaking after I bowl with it. Love coming here, maybe I "need" another ball

We came to Lucky Strike for a fun night. The space is well maintained…read more Definitely worth for the bowling and all the games. The lanes are in good condition and there are plenty of bowling ball options. Another good thing is the amount of lanes they have. Now drink wise....0/10 they need to teach the bartender how to make drinks. Staff were friendly and attentive. Definitely a cool place to come have fun but for the drinks definitely not.

Overall, it was a seamless experience with just a few bumps. 1) Check-In: On a busy weekday during a popular week off in between Christmas and New Years, they had one person working the front. There was a small hiccup that needed a manager approval. Despite the worker, who handled the crowd well, calling for a manager over and over again, the manager didn't come for 15-20 minutes as the line grew longer. 2) Arcade: Most of the games are rip offs and short change you. In one of the claw games, it grabbed two rolls of tickets for 20, but it gave me only 10 points on my card. A few games took my card credit without letting me play. 3) Bowling: That was easy and fun! The balls and shoes are clean and the lanes well maintained. 4) Food: The menu is full of unhealthy food and drinks, but the kids loved the cheese pizza kids deal that comes with a drink and fries. For the arcade, we got a Groupon deal, which was easy to redeem. Parking can be hard to find in the area and expect to pay.

I have to admit as long as I've lived in the DMV area this was literally my first time visiting…read morePinstripes lol. While it was my first visit, it definitely will not be my last! I attended for our employee summer event, and our team had such a great time. I have to give a major shoutout to Filipe (I hope I'm spelling his name correctly). He and his team took such great care of us and he was incredibly friendly throughout the event. Honestly, I would come back just because of the amazing service he provided. The food was great as well. We had pre-selected menu items that included signature wings, tenderloin sliders, Margherita and pepperoni flatbreads, Caprese sliders, feta and spinach stuffed phyllo, and pesto chicken skewers. Everything was flavorful and definitely hit the spot after some friendly competition with my coworkers. Pinstripes has a lot to offer, and I'll definitely be back. They have so many events happening, from happy hours to Music Bingo, and I believe they also host live bands. Whether you're looking for a fun night out, great food or a place to bring a group, Pinstripes is worth checking out! Highly recommend!

We were in the large spacious auditorium style area downstairs with the bar. I did not know they had a full kitchen and bar. The food was great. I ordered a hot honey flatbread with pepperoni. It came out piping hot and it was very flavorful. For a drink I ordered a down east cider. The service was impeccable. The staff were very friendly and attentive. I really thought it was just an event space. The top floor has games, and a bar that seem to be lively. I will try that area out soon. Cheers!

How could they mess up a pretzel?…read more I was sitting in their packed downstairs space attending an excellent Profs & Pints lecture on Forgeries Throughout History. It was my first time here, and from the reviews, I knew what to expect: cold beer and mediocre--at best--food. Looking around, I noticed plenty of people taking their first bites of whatever they'd ordered, but very few seemed in any hurry to take a second. I took the hint. I figured the safest thing to pair with my pint of Dos Equis--and help soak it up--would be one of their "head-sized" pretzels. Frankly, they surprised me. I didn't realize it was possible to screw up a pretzel this badly. What arrived was a plate containing two very hot, large, salt-encrusted, pretzel-shaped objects accompanied by a small tub of thick, yellowish goo. The pretzel--I never made it to the second one--had the texture and flavorlessness of stale Wonder Bread. (Assuming Wonder Bread is actually capable of going stale.) The goo tasted vaguely like mild Velveeta, but without Velveeta's ambition. On the plus side, this is a nice venue for lectures and, I imagine, watching sports. The beer is cold, the downstairs space has a good atmosphere, and I enjoyed the event. Just do yourself a favor: eat before you get there.

For the history nerds, there are two bowling alleys on The White House campus. The one this refers…read moreto is the Truman Bowling Alley. It was once inside the actual White House, but was moved to the Old Executive Office Building in 1955. (The original room that housed it is now the Situation Room.) There is still a bowling alley inside the actual White House, but that was built as a single-lane bowling alley in the 1970s under the Nixon Administration. The Nixon Bowling Alley isn't accessible to more White House staff, but the Truman Bowling Alley is! If you get the coveted invitation to the Truman Bowling Alley, go! Like all White House visits, you'll need to fill out a form beforehand that will get you past two security areas. (The second is like going through airport security.) The Truman Bowling Alley is in the basement of the Old Executive Office Building with clearly marked signs. Once in the basement, you'll walk through a no-frills hallway that feels more like a Cold War-era bunker. Step inside the bowling alley into a small kitchenette area with a display telling the Truman Bowling Alley's history. There's a wall of shoes for bowlers with a spray bottle to disinfect the shoes before putting them back. The back room is where you'll find two bowling lanes with one area with all kinds of balls and two electronic boards to input each bowlers' names and for keeping score. There are TV screens on the wall nearby that call out spares, strikes, etc. You can even take a photo of your group from the screen that is projected onto the TV screen. The room has photos of U.S. Presidents and guests bowling throughout the decades and a few seats along the side. The space is pretty tight. The lanes themselves come with pins attached to strings. It's a nice, fun, and special bowling alley. If you get invited, more meetings to go!
