Recently attended ICE Lights The Winter Village after Thanksgiving. My 3YO and my friend's 5 & 8 YO loved the lights and the amount of space initially. Lots of parking, as it's at Great Waves waterpark. When you walk up, there are the prices for admission, you can buy at the counter. But if you scan the QR code, you can save a couple $'s by purchasing tickets online (highly recommend). They scan your QR code for purchase and give you stickers for admission that you're to wear while enjoying the lights. The skating rink is on the left and an additional charge. It wasn't open yet when I attended, but was a small size and perfect for the littles in your life. There's a Santa-Letter writing station when you also walk in as well as a cart to purchase light toys. There's plenty of space for kids to run around as well as picture opportunities for you to stop and get good holiday memories. There is a booth on the far left corner of the park that sells hot chocolate, pizza, hotdogs, and water. There are fire pits with seating, and also s'mores kits available for purchase. My suggestion is to purchase a hot chocolate before you walk around (at least for parents to stay warm). The space is a good size, but not as large as I thought it would be. Still, for a winter night out and the price it's a good quality time for the holiday season and a hit with the younger kids.

This is a nice park off Eisenhower Ave. In the Summer it's a water park and mini golf plus batting cages. In the winter it's ice & lights with a small ice rink. They offer pizza, hot dogs & hot cocoa. A nice night for the family. Good place for affordable family fun.

The Ice and Lights display at Cameron Run Park is very nice and cost-friendly. The tickets were 9 dollars for a fun and enjoyable Christmas lights experience. Ice skating can also be added to the tickets for an additional fee. We had been to other area light displays, such as Bull Run Park and Meadowlark Gardens, so we decided to check this one out as something different this year. They have a lot of nice photo spots and several different areas of lights to view. Even though the area is small, it never felt overly crowded. Since the area with the lights doubles as a water park during the summer months, they've found a way to successfully incorporate the winter and ocean themes together in the lights (ex: Christmas light mermaid selfie frames).

I came here with my toddler for the "ice & lights" event and we had a blast. Now, this interactive light display is definitely for the younger set. If you are 7+, you will get bored fast. If you're a toddler who is mesmerized by blinking lights and tunnels, then make your way here! Admission is free for 2 and under and around $9 otherwise. There are LOTS of photo ops, but they were crowded even on a weeknight. It could also have been the near 70 degree December weather that brought out the crowd. There is ice skating, but it is a small rink and expensive. I'd vote it's a "no-go". The food options are limited, and I can attest the pizza tastes like bleh.....but my toddler will eat even bad pizza and they sell it by the slice. They sold souvenirs which were mostly overpriced glow sticks, and luckily my kid could care less so I didn't have to buy any. They have a few igloos set up to eat inside of, in addition to tables. They eventually lit the fire pits despite it being a warm evening. I was able to get a glimpse at parts of the water park and it looks like it would be fun for toddlers, so I plan to bring my son back when it is summer!

Goose poo all over the side walks

This review is for mini golf. Affordable family fun. Children 12 and under ~$5 and 12 and up ~$6. Today marks my 3rd visit for mini golf. However the experience was literally crappy, as in goose poo covered the sidewalks and holes 1-6 and 17-18. I was constantly having to yell, "watch your step," to my 6 year old. Given that this is Memorial Day weekend, which means large crowds, I would expect that the grounds would be clean and appropriate for play time. Constantly stepping over goose poo and seeing piles of goose poo along the course was frustrating and disgusting. Tip: of your child hits the ball off course and it travels over to pool side you will have to retrieve it. Otherwise, you will have to share or be charged for an extra ball. I personally think this is ridiculous, but was told that it's "their policy." Cameron Run, please do better with ground maintenance. No one wants to look at, step over, or potentially have their ball roll through s#%t while trying to have a good time. We all want a hole in one without stepping in #2.

Pitching machines didn't work. Balls were poorly thrown, if at all. Not worth the time or the money. Go elsewhere

Putt putt was alright, it wasn't anything spectacular but it was good to keep the kids busy.

Review of water park only:…read more Don't buy for the whole family. We made the mistake of buying for a family of 4, but only small kids would enjoy this. Could have saved half the cost by just buying for 2 kids. You definitely don't need more than an hour either. It's really loud, so it's not great for autistic or sensory sensitive kids. My kids don't enjoy water directly in their face, and there's nowhere to go that doesn't have water landing directly in your face. There's nowhere for adults to sit, and it's a small room so there's residual splashing everywhere; wear pool shoes even if you don't go on the play structure and are just supervising the kids. During the 5-minute breaks once per hour, it would be nice if you could use the adjacent pool I but it was occupied with aquatic sports teams. Staff were very friendly, and the overall sports/rec facility looks huge and very clean. Locker rooms were very clean as well. For our family, however, it just wasn't worth the price paid nor was it the type of water park that would work for older kids or autistic kids.

We arrived a little after 1pm on a Sunday afternoon. When we left at 5pm there was no line at all. You can bring in food from restaurants or even receive deliveries from local establishments. There were several birthday parties and everyone seemed to be doing well. The lazy river is the most "pool" you'll get here. It's mainly a splash pad with a lazy river. The deepest water is 3' feet. It was $44 for two teenagers, one toddler and myself. They charge based on height. 43" inches or less and seniors receive a discount. All the staff are kids. It's about an hour drive from DC. I'm sure we will be back at some point because it's not as intimidating as a Six Flags or Kings Dominion. It's easy to watch the little ones here. This is not the spot for teens. They were extremely bored. We came in contact with several regulars. They gave us the scoop about everything. Like when to come, what to wear, where the nearest restrooms are (mens restroom was super nasty btw). Otherwise, it's a pretty laid back place.

We did a round of mini golf, which was nice. The course is mostly well maintained, though one of the holes near the end could use some work since it is a giant pit, with some cobblestone rocks acting as steps that lead down to the hole. It was a little difficult to maneuver, and I just ended up having to get one of my younger brothers to get my ball for me. Most of the holes were well down and the place had a nice grass and water feature aesthetic. Definitely something we wanted in the city. We then admired the obstacle course because it looked awesome. Climbing across surfboards dangling in the sky, bright colors. It looked awesome. We opted not to try it out this time though. We then went for a little walk on a trail. They aren't very well marked, the signs look like someone keeps knocking them down, and all of the trails sort of overlap and are visible from the others since it is literally just a little acre-ish area in the middle of the city. There was also an overflowing trash can that smelled awful, next to someone's abandoned lawn chair on the trail, but nothing a quick cleanup of the area can't fix. It is rather warm being down in a sort of gully, so I would love to see it again when all the trees are green, hopefully that would provide some nice shade. We then went to the playground and it was really nice and well-maintained, and I had to use the restroom which was IMMACULATE. This was by far the nicest playground bathroom I have ever been in, and nicer than most store and restaurant restrooms I have been in. There is also a waterpark that wasn't open yet for the season, and a large blue building that serves as the entrance to the water park, and I do wish that it had a large sign that said something to the effect of "Restrooms are in here, even when the waterpark isn't open" since we were trying to find a restroom for my 5 year old nephew after we had left the playground bathroom, and assumed that the swim building was closed, so we ran him across the parking lot to the obstacle course building assuming it would be in there, and were a little worried when we had to run him across the street when we learned it was in the blue swim building. Overall, this was a really lovely and completely unexpected outing in the middle of a crowded city. This will very likely be on our itinerary next time we have to kill time in DC.

The fastest is either 60-65mph or 70-75; I don't think there's an 80-85 like a lot of places have. They have bats and helmets you can use. Of course, you're welcome to bring and use your own helmet and bat. You can get 3 tokens for $5, and each token gets you 14 pitches. In addition to the batting cage, they have an obstacle course that's like 3 stories tall that looks awesome. I haven't done it but it looks cool. They said it takes like 2 hours and it costs adults $50. There's also a pool here. Overall, it's a good place to have some fun.
