What a wonderful neighborhood pool! The best thing about this pool is there is an intermediate pool, in addition to the large full-size pool and a good size wading pool for the little ones. The intermediate pool starts off with maybe 3 or 4 steps down on the shallow end that run the full length of the pool and progressively gets deeper until max depth at about 3ft. And that's it! That meant when I was teaching my son how to swim, he could pretty much keep his head above water at any point in that pool without my assistance. I think it gave him more confidence and it wasn't long before he was swimming on his own.
The big pool has stair entries, too - one on each side and wide enough for a few people to get in and out at the same time, but not as wide at the entrance to the intermediate pool. Depth in the big one starts off at about 3.5ft and gets deep enough for there to be diving boards at the deep end. There's always a lap lane roped off for those who want to actually swim, while others can play in the rest of the pool.
Another nice thing is the baby pool is fenced off in it's own little section, so it's easy to keep the little runners from wandering off into the other pools.
The other things I love about this pool is it's never crowded, and the people who are there are all really nice. The ages range from little babies up to those who have been members since it first opened back in the 50s! It also is surrounded by beautiful trees to offer relief from the hot sun if you want it, but always an option to sit in the sun if you rather.
Overall, it's a great place to spend the summers, and I'm looking forward to this year! read more
