For the timers standing in the blazing sun, they offered water, candy and frozen towels. For my husband who helped set up, they gave him a Chick-fil-A breakfast sandwich. We've never gotten food before for volunteering at swim meets! As for the pool itself, it's got plenty of parking and has good shade cover over most of the pool in the mornings. There is an awesome snack bar (Shark Shake) offering warm food including mozzarella sticks and pizza. Some of the facilities were a little older (eg, the bathroom), but I like to think the pool has chosen to spend its money on things like being hospitable and offering food to volunteers. This is a great community pool in the middle of a neighborhood that I'm sure is valued by the people who live nearby.

There are dedicated lanes for laps that are usually available and they have a baby pool with a shaded picnic area. They even have 4 grills and provide the propane for members to use. There is lots of shade in the late afternoon and early evenings. The swim team is very active for about 6 weeks, but otherwise, the deck can be very quiet and relaxing. They offer adult workouts for a small fee in the early mornings on Tuesdays and Thursdays, and Adult only swim on Sunday morning from 9-11am. They offer fun events like family bingo, float nights and movies, food trucks and parties if you like to socialize. They even offer yoga on the deck some Sunday mornings. Lots of families with kids and the members are all very friendly. Membership fee includes the entire family in your house, and even allows you to bring your Nanny to watch the kids during the day if you work.

Then the big pool with the double spring boards that goes up to 12 ft deep. It was not crowded at all which was surprising because the pool we belong to is always crowded. Also interesting that you can go off the diving boards with floaties so my youngest was loving that since she's a daredevil. My oldest wanted to take the swim test so he could independently go off the board, which he did and passed. The pool also has a whole room of floats, noodles, and other toys to play with. There is also a separate kid play area with one of those waterfall mushrooms/umbrellas. They also have an astro turf playground and a basketball court in addition to plenty of picnic areas and large bathrooms with showers/changing areas. The life guards also enforce a 15 minute adults only time in the main pool at quarter of each hour. Our friend's son participates in their swim lessons and for $20, you get a one-on-one session with a lifeguard for 30 minutes. The price seems pretty reasonable to me for this area and her son has become a much more confident swimmer over the past month. We had a relaxing experience in the sun and water with our friends. It's such a great spot to burn summer energy and also practice water skills. I found the lifeguards to be really attentive and constantly counting the swimmers in their sections. Even just a few days before the Fourth of July holiday, because we were there first thing, there were no lines, and things ran smoothly. Normally the wait times to get into the park during High-Peak season should be expeditious, customer service, wise but it is not because it's one of the only best Waterparks in Reston/Herbdon parameters. If they hired less teenage-age-range staffs and concentrated more on the front desk security lines, customer would not have to wait too long; especially for children whom are adapted leisure customers. The downside is the season pass affordability. And it would be a great business incentive if there were private events like drowning prevention courses, and special needs custom hours or events. Viable parking allotted spacing is also limited and legal nuance.
