So... this was an interesting experience in customer service! I used the FANZO sports bar finder website (fanzo.com) to determine that a pay-per-view boxing event was "confirmed" (per the website) to be showing at Dave & Buster's Springfield this past Saturday afternoon. I called the location ahead of time that Saturday and spoke to a D&B employee, who confirmed that the bar would be showing the boxing event. I drove 20+ minutes to the location and, after waiting at the bar for a while, I was told that, after checking with the manager, Dave & Buster's would NOT be showing the event--even though it had been listed as "confirmed" on the sports bar finder website and despite D&B staff confirming it over the phone less than an hour earlier. On my way out the door, I noticed a poster advertising another boxing event (Errol Spence vs. Tim Tszyu) that Dave & Buster's planned to show later that night. I didn't see the event confirmed anywhere online so, when I got back home, I again called Dave & Buster's to confirm that they'd at least be showing the boxing event that night, given the poster advertising the event near the front entrance. They quickly confirmed that yes, the event would be showing. So a couple of hours later, I again drove 20+ minutes back to Dave & Buster's Springfield to watch the event and patronize the venue. Upon arrival, one of the first things I noticed was that the poster I'd seen near the front door just a few hours earlier had been removed. I asked a D&B front desk employee about the event, and she sheepishly replied that the venue had "planned" on airing the event but was unable to do so (for some unexplained reason). So that was two sporting events advertised as airing that same day that ultimately weren't shown. Fool me once, shame on you; fool me twice, shame on me, I guess! Later that night, I emailed Dave & Buster's Guest Relations (corporate) to explain what had happened and express my frustration with the experience. To my surprise, they responded promptly the next day (on a Sunday!), apologized, and credited me with Dave & Buster's gaming chips as a gesture of goodwill. (I did have to pay a little out of pocket to purchase the Power Card needed for Guest Relations to transfer the gaming chips, but I nonetheless very much appreciated the goodwill gesture.) So I'd definitely rate the initial experience at the location a 1, but I'd rate D&B Guest Relations' prompt response and gesture of goodwill a 4 or 5. So they get a 3 overall from me (higher than their current Yelp average). I'll say that my experiences at this venue prior to this past weekend have generally been good. I just don't think I'll feel comfortable relying on this location for pay-per-view sporting events anytime soon, and, given the experience I had here, I'd warn others to independently verify any pay-per-view event before making the trip, even if Dave & Buster's staff confirms it over the phone. read more

First off, the food was surprisingly good here. I treated my family to dinner and gaming last Saturday , so we started with dinner. My wife got the chicken sandwich with sweet potato fries, which she loved. I had the Fish and Chips dinner which was great. Our son enjoyed the Chicken Fingers and fries. His wife had a large salad which she said was tasty. And our grandson had the 5 cheese flatbread and fries which he devoured. Service was quick and attentive. After dinner, we played a lot of games for close to two hours. Lots of fun! The only negative comment I have is that the noise level was very high. I have a rule about not wasting my time going to a Dave and Busters that doesn't offer bowling. This one doesn't offer bowling so I essentially wasted my time and money in this location, but...anything for the kids *shrugs*. I accompanied my friends with their teenage nephew and niece and we decided to make this experience into a whole evening with dinner and [weak] drinks and games. The service at the bar was slow despite it not being too particularly crowded. The slow service actually created the crowd so that was annoying. I went with my boyfriend on a Saturday night. The crowd level was what you would expect it to be on a Saturday night, but not too too busy. It was easy to purchase the reloadable card at the self service kiosk upon entry. Unfortunately, a lot of the games were not well maintained. For example, many of the basketballs were removed from the basketball shooting game, so we didn't have as many balls to throw. I saw a few kids playing with them around the room. When playing the Flappy Bird game, the machine completely shut down and I didn't get tickets for what I had completed and I didn't get point reimbursement. When playing Mario Kart, one of the wheels was loose. When playing Skee-Ball, half of the balls were missing. Basically, you can tell that the machines are not monitored or maintained on a regular basis. Overall, I had a 7/10 experience. You definitely can have fun, but don't expect the quality of the machines to be great. read more

Since it was slow, service was a 5- The cashier at the bar was very nice and patient while I figured out how many cards and tokens I wanted. The young lady in the prize area was also kind and sweet to my kids while they exchanged their tickets. We did not get food there. The games have a variety and most are newer/ updated, but why can't you keep 2 lanes of the original skeeball? Instead there are digital type bowling games that are just not the same. Came to watch Preakness at the bar. Just a note bar-at seats around bar, if you want to sit at tables or a booth must see hostess. Food was delicious, started with pepperoni flatbread-soft crust and super tasty. I ordered the burger-super delicious ( tomato and arugula cooked with seasoning, large and tasty mushrooms), cooked perfectly. Wings were good, extra crispy but just chicken no lemon pepper. It's fun to a degree. Don't worry D&B I still love your skeeball. Yet the originality of a adult Chuck E Cheese has, maybe the right way to put it is lost it's luster. There are still fun video games, but a lot of them are youth leaning now. That's probably due to supply and demand. Also the amount of point's required for prizes seems higher. They used to have nice t shirts and other items. Now it's a lot of less than exemplary stuff. To its credit very friendly employees. They do hire well. Also the food is decent. The only thing that saved our evening was that the server was very nice and understanding. I came here to play games and enjoy some time after a rough day at work. I already had dinner plans scheduled nearby, so I didn't come to eat. I didn't have any previous D&B cards with me, so I needed to purchase a new one, pay the activation fee, and fund the card. I opted to put $50 on get $6 free, and the $3 activation fee gave me $59! There are worse ways of having fun! Many chips would give me an hour of fun, but after almost 90 minutes, I still had over 200 chips on my card and many tickets awarded. Since I had to go, I opted to keep the card and everything on it for another time or another location. The games area was dead, and no employees were around to ask questions, like where the restrooms were. I walked all around before finally finding them. There should be at least a staff member at the desk when you walk down the stairs, but there was no one, and it was 5:15 pm when I arrived, so I wouldn't have expected it to be so dead. Now it was 5:15 pm on a Monday, but still, that was dinner time for some. Also, it was unbelievably hot in the facility. I carried a coat with me, and I was wearing a short-sleeved shirt. It was getting cooler outside but was uncomfortably warm, and I was sweating within a few minutes of arrival. I would have left if I weren't trying to kill time by having fun. This location has similar issues to the Fair Oaks Mall location, and that was without even trying the food. D&B used to have a fantastic location at White Flint Mall in Montgomery County when it was a bustling mall. But so far, the two Virginia locations I've gone to have both been a bust. I'm surprised both locations made it through Covid, as Fair Oaks Mall was a disaster less than 6 months after opening. You guys have a good thing going in a popular and crowded mall and area. The food at Dave & Busters is surprisingly really good and I've never been disappointed! I give this place a 3 out of 5 because overall I enjoyed my time there at the arcade; but the service at the restaurant and bars are not the best. The best times (but also worst times) to go are Wednesdays, since they have their special. It's half price games- all day, every wednesday. If you're able to go during the day, that's better since everyone is still at work or at school; but if you're unlucky like me, you have work until 5 every weekday. That means going with all the adults trying to wind down on a Wednesday evening, or after school with the kids. Came here with a mixed group of friends during a recent trip to the area. Some of my friends had their sons - ranging in age from 14 to 30 with them so this was a place they could all have a little fun while us girls caught up. We planned on dining there for dinner but ended up somewhere else but deciding on getting a table, appetizers and drinks. Once inside if you are playing you need to buy a card, which is where your game credits are loaded, as well as any points/tickets you would earn from the games. They had different packages available and most games were over $1 to play. Downstairs is where the madness begins. It's sensory overload with the literally hundreds of tvs, games, noises, flashing lights, etc. It's loud and distracting. Even if you wanted to watch a sport on the tv there's so many lined up together each playing something different it would be impossible to concentrate. Unfortunately the large seating area was closed and they only had table seating around the bar, which was full, so we put in our names and waited about an 1 hour and a half for a table. We were able to get a seat at the bar and I ordered an iced tea, which they never charged me for despite having my money on the bar. Drinks were higher priced according to my friend who had several that night. The bartender, one of about 3, was nice but not attentive in the least, even when the bar was almost vacated. I looked at the menu and struggled to find anything that appealed to me until I saw a seasonal stand up menu. I ended up ordering a butternut squash ravoli which was good with the brown butter sauce, but did lack salt and would have benefited from the addition of a protein. When our table was finally ready it took us a few minutes to grab everyone in our party to head over. However my friend did let them know that, but they ended up seating someone else there, even with our jackets on the bench. But they quickly made it right and retrieved our items from lost and found. My friends ordered appetizers from the menu and they were all massively sized and looked good. They looked so much better than how they were described on the menu. I will say that this is not my type of place at all and would not be one I would choose for myself, but it was a nice compromise because of the kids. I enjoyed the company more than the atmosphere and I do wish they would have had the other seating area open, away from the commotion, as this is a headache just waiting to happen. read more

They weren't cold by far....but after making a colossal amount of cooking mistakes, you kinda know. I wouldn't recommend the wings. On a high note, the kids pizza, it's better than Little Caesar's, and I Little Caesars, so I really liked the pizza. My daughter devoured her cheese burger and fries. I didn't get a chance to ask for a taste, it looked of quality. My wife had a half rack of spare ribs, fries, and asparagus. I tried them, and realized, no to racks are alike. I need to slow down. I think I've had ribs from 5 different places in the last month. They were good...they're ribs lol, but I would never think "Oh yeah, Dave and Buster ribs." I ordered wings, spicy Korean. They were ok. The highlight of the meal was the dessert. The cheesecake dip. This place is a solid 4. If I were only considering the food, it would be a 3. But because of the games and memories, it gets a 4, losing a start due to price and quality not aligning. Recommendations: *Lower food prices OR keep the menu and prices the same, however use better quality for adult menu items. *New games that millennials want to play. We're the adults now, we will spend our money on a good Dead or Alive/Tekken arcade game. The feeling you can't get on-line. I don't play games any more, but the thought of games of that caliber in Dave and Busters makes me want to dust off my controller and practice for "the next time at Dave and Busters."
