We also tried the crab cake sandwich and French onion soup (also yummy). The ambiance is wonderful with French music playing and a darling patio. Deliciousness - 4/5 Happiness - 5/5…read more I love Belgian beer, and Cock and Bowl is my favorite place to nab some of this great nectar. This place keeps the Belgian brews stocked across the spectrum. From fruity Lambics to Tripels (my personal fave) and Quadrupels, pales to darks. There's a lot to explore here. The food is pretty good too. The frites (fries) are excellent and pair well with the beer. They are thick without veering into steak fry territory, nicely crunchy, and packed with a pleasing amount of salt (and I believe a hint of vinegar). The waffles are also a standout, typically topped with light and airy cream. The merguez lamb sausage is also hearty and delicious. I wish the building itself was larger. There's only a few tables, meaning you may be in for a wait if you go during the colder months. And I recently had the chocolate mousse and didn't care for it. It was much more akin to pudding, and there wasn't a deep enough chocolate flavor to contrast with the whipped cream. There's no better place I've found in Occoquan to eat, drink, and be merry. I highly recommend you stop here when you visit.

Ghost Fleet [GF]. (3.5 stars)…read more BLUF: If you like craft beers, this is the place to come & enjoy a frosty brew while shopping and/or dining at Stonebridge. (Hence the 3.5 stars). I had actually been to this bar twice before but since it is located IN the Alamo theater, I never got to try it because I would always open the main entrance door & see the theater employees & think I couldn't access Ghost Fleet (the bar) unless I purchased a movie ticket. Well, that isn't the case. I finally asked a theater employee who told me to just stay to the left & I could order from the bartender. I will say, for a bar located in a theater, I was shocked that GF has 25+ craft beers on tap & a few that I do recognize & enjoy!! Note: Happy Hour is available Monday to Friday from 4-7pm. The food here is average at best but still filling. The pizza is probably the best option for both portion size as well as price. Tip: You can make any pizza "Angry" (jalapeño, red chili flakes, & fresh basil) for $2 up charge. I ordered the Omnivore (Angry) because I was surprised to see that GF makes their own pizza crust in house?! The Omnivore comes with pepperoni, tomatoes, roasted red peppers, mushrooms, cheese, homemade marinara, Kalamata olives & red onions. It was a decent pie & definitely bigger than what I expected. Angry Omnivore = $15 + $2 (Angry). I also ordered the Kids size chicken tenders with fries. For 2 decent sized tenders & some fries, I suppose the $10 is on par with theater food costs... The chicken was surprisingly moist & tender. GF has an outdoor patio as well so one can enjoy a nice cold brew during the hot summer days & nights. The bartender was quite knowledgeable in each beer offered & did allow me to sample the Dark Hollow before I "fully committed" to ordering it. I felt $8 for a nice cold beer was worth it! I'm happy I at least got to try GF & when I'm in the mood for a stout or IPA, I'll definitely choose GF over the other eateries at Stonebridge that sell beer... Parking is ample & available on site. Definitely worth a try if you're in the area & want a nice cold beer. I do wish GF well.

This is a beach theme bar, with a ton of things going on. They had vendors, and one was selling Venus fly traps of all things. There's plenty of beer to be consumed. They have a nice taproom with seating, and plenty of seats and tables out on the "beach." This is a great place for a young adult date, not to mention a family spot. Dogs are welcome, and I saw a decent amount of kids running around. They didn't broadcast live sports during my visit. I did see people eating, but couldn't really tell where the food was coming from. I didn't want to venture around because I don't see well, and the grounds are composed of pea rocks. I did see rooftop seating, but I'm not sure what's up there. This place is next to a Sheetz gas station, and if worse comes to worse, you can literally walk there and buy food and no one would know your'e gone because it's so close. The parking here is bad. Real bad. There is an adjacent small strip small with parking, and a catering hall with a huge parking lot. I opted for the catering hall, but walking to this venue was tricky, because there isn't a sidewalk. This place has casual charm. I observed a small family playing Uno at their table, and their activity summed up what this place is about. A family friendly safe place to relax.

Great start to the night. Our server was on it the whole time. I'm terrible with names and didn't catch his, but he was attentive without hovering. Drinks first: smoked old fashioned for me and it was fantastic. My fiancée got a rosé and was happy with it. The menu made it a hard call, a lot of stuff I wanted to try. We started with the corn fritters, which I did not touch because I'm not a corn guy. My fiancée destroyed them and said they were delicious, so take that for what it's worth. I went with the burger and fries. Cooked exactly how I asked, and the fries were great. Zero complaints. Then I tried one of her fish tacos and immediately regretted my entire order. Those things were amazing. Crispy, and genuinely the reason I'm coming back. The homemade chips she got with them were also really good. 5 stars. We'll be back, and I'm ordering the tacos.

The corn fritter appetizer with hot honey was good. The fish sandwich and crab sandwich (on stale, grill pressed brioche) were just edible and extremely overpriced. This is the first time I couldn't bite through a potato chip!!! When the server finally came back to ask how our food was, and I tried to explain why it was inedible, I was at loss for the right word and he provided it - stale. Guessing this was not the first time he'd had a complaint, but to his credit, he brought each of us an order of onion rings "on the house" (why that would be I don't know since the chips were included with the sandwich - probably an up charge substitution). They were hot but not much else to recommend them. The venue was kind of musty and though we were seated at a window as requested for the river view, the middle window was so dirty you couldn't really see clearly through it. For a downtown riverfront Occoquan location, this was shockingly horrible.

The problem? The beer is not good…read more Unfortunately, that's what they need to get right before anything else. Sampled the kolsch (soapy, both here and in Chantilly, so it's not just a glass or a line), porter (funky aftertaste), and the Melting Point Cold IPA (the most drinkable). I feel bad, leaving this review because the more senior employee I chatted with previously at Chantilly is a very nice guy, but I'm just letting beer drinkers know that the beer itself at Bunnyman is iffy...and it's not like you're coming for the ambiance of the industrial park or the guy illegally dumping by the train tracks I walked by on the way in. When I was cashing out in Burke, the guy working the till asked me how it was. I'm adopting a policy of being honest if asked, otherwise I'd have just let it be. I told him the beer wasn't good, the Kolsch, in particular, tasted a bit soapy, which reminded me it tasted the same in Chantilly. He said he's never liked Kolsch, and maybe they'll have better beer for me next time. Thanks for your personal opinion, I guess. But I like Kolsch, and I like a brewery that can do it decently well. This ain't it.
