Food, service, and atmosphere were all fantastic. The service was fast and the food came out nice and hot. There was a regular menu and a special menu. Several great options to pick from. They also have a live music section in the basement. If you sit inside you can't hear it meaning you can still have an intimate meal! The clam linguine was a light meal that leaves you full but not stuffed. The pineapple sorbet was served in a cute mini pineapple. It was much sweeter than I expected and wish it was lighter on the sugar/sweetener. read more

Deliciousness - 5/5 Happiness - 5/5 I've been here a few times now and always left happy and very full. The best Italian restaurant in the area hands down. This is definitely an old school Italian place, with dark wood furniture and oversized pasta portions (no complaints from me on that!). The pasta is always cooked exactly right (it's really hard to do pappardelle right as it's such a big noodle and can easily become a wet mess that tears apart on your fork, but each noodle here stayed together and didn't break apart), and the sauces are distinct and flavorful. From the standard sauces like alfredo, to the unique like a lamb ragout, they have deep flavor that keeps you eating until your stomach says no. The waiter was friendly and attentive, engaging my kids as much as me. We also went with the bruschetta, which was tasty (particularly the mozzarella) but I wish had at least one more slice of bread to serve as an appetizer for four. I wasn't overly impressed with the mixed drinks, but I didn't go there for that either. read more

Melanzane Alla Parmigiana - $22 for a plate of spaghetti pasta, red sauce and mandolin sliced eggplant that had more breading than eggplant. Just horrible. 'Fried breading held together with a mandolin slice of eggplant garnishing spaghetti pasta and red sauce,' would be an appropriate name for this meal. Picture speaks for its self. A very sad meal. Service was slow, had to ask other employees for drink refills, the bill and boxes. Pre busing the table did not happen, again had to ask another employee who dropped off the food to take the neat stack of used appetizer plates that had been there for 10+ mins after finishing appetizer. read more

We sat outside on a nice porch overlooking the river. Lunch was ok, nothing special Standard Italian fare. service has to be among the worst in the state. Over 35 minutes waiting for food--an ordinary Chicken parm sandwich and a salad. We had to curtail our walking around because we were on a bus tour. The nice old lady who is the waitress had no clue what was wrong. When we saw others who came later being served, we stood up and were ready to leave, then food appeared. read more

We have gone 2 nights this week and love it! The atmosphere in the historic building is so cozy! The gnocchi is fabulous, the linguini and clams is exceptional! A tasty restaurant in one of my favorite hidden DMV gems! The ravioli was tasty but not super well cooked and in a cream sauce that had too acidic of a taste. The vodka pasta was amazing! I wish we were served bread. Service was fine, and the restaurant was cute! read more

Apparently this restaurant has been under new management since last summer so I can't speak to how it was before, but our dinner experience was good. It took a little bit to get seated despite it not being busy but staff was very friendly and the food tasted really good. I liked that they switched up the standard olive oil for your starter bread by topping it with pesto, delicious! We had a caesar salad, spinach ravioli and penne vodka. The sauce was creamy and just the right amount and not too thin. Pasta was tender and very tasty. We didn't have any of the alcoholic drinks that night but their signature cocktail menu looked really good. The atmosphere was casual and quiet. We will definitely be back! read more

Again, Friday Feb 13, we were at DRoccos for lunch, it was busy and the food was again fantastic, delicious. It was for my mom's birthday .And we had Burrata- mussels - lasagna - carbonara and tiramisu. Really amazing food and it has become our favorite Occoquan / woodbridge restaurant. The food is really authentic and fresh. And the server Mr, Tennessee knows his food. Really awesome restaurant read more

This was my first time visiting despite having been to Occoquan many times (very cute area if you haven't been before). It doesn't appear that they offer reservations but we didn't need one for a Sunday evening. What I noticed immediately is that there is actually room to move around and our table wasn't crammed right next to another one. A lot of DC area restaurants have people at different tables practically on top of each other. This more spread out vibe made the experience a bit more intimate. Our server was great and came by at perfect intervals to check on us. We tried the spaghetti and meatballs and the gnocchi and thought they were excellent and priced just right. I really liked the stickier garlicky sause used on their spaghetti. They also provide free bread. There appears to be a bar area on the lower level but we didn't vist that section. Maybe next time. If you are in the area, give this place a try! read more

Food is fantastic. Lunch menu is fast and great prices. I think it's $16 for a PLT (pancetta vs bacon) and fries. The fries are very tasty. Wish they had a bigger lunch crowd - maybe folks are seeing the reviews from prior ownership? The new owners as of Oct 2024 have done a great job of making incremental improvements to the decor now that the food is absolutely incredible. Well done and I'll be back! read more

Rounding up but would give this place a 3.5. The staff are friendly and the outdoor seating is great! I went for lunch on a weekday and ordered the calamari, fettuccini Alfredo, and shrimp linguini vognole. Calamari was tasty but a little too salty. I loved the spicy red sauce it came with though! My fettuccini was also a little salty but overall yummy. The linguini was really good! Would definitely come back but maybe ask to salt lightly for the dishes. read more

DRoccos Restaurant has a great location in Occoquan. The restaurant is well appointed and large. The service was excellent. The food was mixed results. The Appetizer Arancino was good but not great and not as good as Ozzie's Restaurant in Fairfax. The ravioli was outstanding with a delicious white sauce. But the main dish, veal scallopini was very disappointing because the meat was tough. The whole point of this dish is tender meat. The dish was high priced and not worth it. The entree did not include a salad. The dessert was good. The meal with tip cost $150. read more

I really cannot express how much I loved my experience at D'Rocco's! With it being my first time in Occoquan, this restaurant has me already planning my next visit. I came for the Valentine's Day dinner special - $75 dollars for two entrees, salads, dessert, and a glass of one of their house wines. Talk about a deal! The portions were large, flavorful, and tasty. The Chicken Alfredo was creamy, cheesy, and blended perfectly with the grilled chicken pieces. I tried a bit of the Chicken Parm and was pleasantly surprised at how much I enjoyed the juicy, crispy breading. It was truly ready to be taken home for tomorrow's lunch The wait staff was so welcoming and made us feel like part of the family at this Mom and Pop restaurant. The dim yellow lights were comforting, making the ambiance of this restaurant inviting and traditional. Loved their roaring fireplace on such a cold night. D'Rocco's is an absolute gem! read more

Tried the bruschetta, carbonara, and the half sandwich chicken Parmesan with Caesar salad. The food was decent, I personally would've liked more flavor/seasonings in the carbonara, anchovies on the Caesar and no marinara on the chicken Parmesan sandwich -but those are my personal preferences. Overall a nice view of the river, and Main Street. Service was excellent and would return to try more items. This time around my favorite spot was the bruschetta. read more

Went in on a Tuesday for "Happy Hour". The bar down stairs opens at 5 o'clock. As we entered there was a sign that said, Why should happy hour be only one hour? My thoughts exactly. Glasses of house wine were advertised as $6.00. So , I ordered a house chardonnay. After receiving the wine my friend asked the bar tender how much my wine was? He said he didn't know, I said $6.00. He went upstairs and came back and said the wine was $14.00! What? My friend asked to see the manager. He came down to the bar area, which is a dungeon that is disgusting. I explained the situation. He said he would give me the house wine , which by the way is a pinot grigio. I stated that I ordered the house chardonnay and the bartender never said that was not a house wine. He refused to honor my request. Will not be back. read more

Under new ownership so ignore reviews before about September 2024. The place has had a complete menu and kitchen overhaul. And my review has gone from 1 star to 4 stars. Lots of menu options and it includes some items that aren't as common, like veal. My meal was a bit over salted and my salad over dressed, but I still ate everything without regrets. The service was good and attentive. The drinks were well made. I will be returning which is amazing because I used to warn people away. read more

Food and Service - outstanding! After our first visit last week, we returned two more times and had a great experience.

I walked in on a Tuesday and was the only person sitting inside. I requested a seat by the window and was able to get some light from outside overlooking the back lot. It was quiet. I ordered the chicken parmigiana dinner-apparently they have a sub as well. It came out pretty quickly. The chicken tasted like a fresh cutlet and the linguine was cooked well with a flavorful sauce. The bread on the side was fresh but I couldn't tell what the yellow on it was-no flavor there. Overall it was fine. Service was pleasant and I enjoyed using the clover app to pay, instead of waiting for the wait staff to take my card. read more

Excellent food and service. Very friendly staff. We also enjoyed the atmosphere of the restaurant.

This place was an experience lol my family and I went to old town, with no plan on where to eat. We just happened to park out front of this location so we decided to give it a try. They did seat us right away but everything was straight up mid. The decor is out dated. They did have outside seating which was nice until it started raining. Luckily they had umbrellas. Also, our server was ready with an indoor table which I found super nice. Overall, our server did a good job. He did forget some items and even got an order completely wrong but he was able to redeem himself. Some of the food was just so basic, but I see the potential. Just not my cup of tea. The only really good food was what my brother ordered of the specials menu. An Italian sausage pasta. The prices on that menu were actually really good and if I ever were to come back it would be specifically for the specials menu. read more

I arrived way too early for our dinner reservation but had the pleasure of chatting with several staff members. They were all quite friendly and I felt welcomed and valued. I very much enjoyed the music, as well - very eclectic! I had fresh coffee, bread and oil, calamari, bruschetta, caeser salad and the cannoli. All very well done!! My friends had a variety of things, too, but I recall their generously scooped gelato and a divine tiramisu. We will be back! Came here today visiting from Chesterfield VA. We were seated right away! Such a small town Occoquan and the wait staff and owner Jim were so nice! We got the fried mozzarella, the Crab and lobster ravioli, spaghetti and meatballs, and the steak and cheese. Wow is all I can say. The marinara sauce was so freaking good. The ravioli was filled up on the inside and I just kept staring at it as I ate it saying "man this is so good". We chatted with the owner who is a super nice and humble guy, he's dressed like everyone else and bussing tables which was so great to see, and he gave us free cannolis as a thank you. I'm in love with this restaurant. Please go here. K bye! read more

This little rustic Italian Restaurant in Occoquan was good. I had the shrimp and risotto. The risotto was perfect and not too creamy. My wife had the short rib ravioli which as also good. I never give false praise. I just had an exceptional burger that stands above all others I've tried in Northern Virginia in recent memory.. The medium-rare preparation showcased a perfect balance of salt and umami. The substitution of lettuce for arugula, complemented by blue cheese, created a refined flavor profile that was both satisfying and light. What distinguishes this burger is its restraint--the careful curation of quality ingredients rather than excess. Attentive service completed an impressive dining experience. Simply the finest burger I've encountered in years... get the . Now. read more

This is one of those places that I think is kind of like an upscale Olive garden. I hate to say that but the food was just okay. We were sold on this place by the rave reviews about the calamari, however, the calamari was sold out. No big deal. It must have been that good right? Turns out the food was just mildly okay Italian food. We ordered the crab and lobster ravioli as well as the chicken alfredo. We got both a soup and salad with our meal, a bit of an upcharge. I felt like for the upcharge I could have used a bit more salad. I got the Italian salad dressing and that was delicious. I just could have used a little more salad to go with it. The soup was tomato basil and the soup itself was good but it was very acidic. Still, it needed a little more of something to cut the acidity. For our meals; the chicken alfredo which was delicious and the lobster and crab ravioli. I think the Alfredo was nice and rich, creamy and buttery. It was definitely fattening but delicious. My crab and lobster ravioli was just okay though. The lobster and crab puree inside of the ravioli was tasty. The rose sauce was just far too acidic and by the end of the meal I didn't want to eat anymore because my throat was burning. The garlic bread did have good flavor, but it was a little overcooked. It was just a little too crispy and could use a little more garlic and parsley and everything else that makes garlic bread delicious. Wasn't terrible, but wasn't anything to rave about. All the while this was happening, the owner of the restaurant was sitting a couple seats over. He was clearly intoxicated and was talking about how his wife was going to be upset when he got home because she would smell the alcohol. He was very loud and it made for a little bit of a less pleasant atmosphere. Because the food was just okay and there wasn't anything spectacular to rave about, I wouldn't choose to return here. Like I said, it's more of an upscale olive garden. read more

Showed up with my family after a long drive for lunch and we went directly to the bathroom first. The restaurant was completely empty. Upon exiting the restroom the staff members and/or owners were blocking the stairs outside the bathrooms and told us that they were not public restrooms, that they were for customers and we were NOT customers. So we decided NOT to be customers. It is not good business practice to follow customers to the bathroom and interrogate them. There is a good reason this place was empty at lunch. We went to a very nice (full) place down the street and spent lots of money there. read more

Terrible food, slow service. I ordered a salad. It came with exactly ONE tomato (two halves) and drowning in dressing.

It's a charming and lovely restaurant located in a cute historic town. The staff were very friendly and accommodating. But I had to give a 3 star because the food was mediocre. I couldn't finish the pesto pasta since it was too salty and cheesy. The room we were in was quite small. We were also able to listen to the next table's conversation the whole night. read more

Usually closed on Mondays we were pleasantly surprised to find them open today. It smells like an old building when you enter but you quickly adapt. The food was decent, so an average rating from me. The service was pretty slow in all regards (from seating to serving to checks arriving and being able to leave) but I think that was due to the holiday schedule and being understaffed while serving a large group with an already surprisingly full house. What I got/tried: D'Rocco's "Honey Stung" Supreme - 4* a decent size and great flavor. I appreciated the flexibility of the staff to swap out one of the toppings. The hot honey wasn't that hot, which was a bummer, but the meat made up for that lack in flavor. The flatbread did get a bit soggy on the middle. I'm not sure if that's a usual occurrence or from the fact that I was with a larger group and it might've been sitting around a little while other dishes were finished. Cannoli - I don't think it's fair for me to give a rating as I did not order this dessert myself. I am not a cannoli person but I wanted to try it again because I *want* to like them. Alas. I took a bite and I did not like it at all. read more

The food was disappointing. We each had a shrimp and scallops' dish over risotto. Not bad enough to send back but close. The salad was good. Our waiter Alfredo was pleasant but left plates of dirty dishes, confused the checks (which we paid without questioning), and was not engaging although he's waited on us before. The owners are very friendly, working hard to make this a place diners want to be. Wonderful location. Want it to succeed and will return. However, it's not a restaurant for great food or service. read more

D'Roccos is under new ownership and everything is different, except the name. Our server, David, was a consummate professional, anticipating our needs. This is the best eggplant parm I have ever eaten, juicy and crisp, without being oily. My husband's chicken parm was also delicious. This is for the Grille. The restaurant next door has service issues. Tonight, I went there first but it was completely empty. There was nobody at the host/hostess stand and I could not find anyone working inside despite looking around the dining room. I could hear people talking loudly inside the kitchen but didn't try that door. However, my experience at the grille next door was very good. Someone welcomed me the minute I walked in the door. The service was friendly, courteous, and quick. Their Italian salad was excellent. Fresh greens, sun-dried tomatoes, black olives, feta, and a tangy dressing served on the side. The spinach and garlic ravioli was delicious, a generous portion, and came with terrific garlic bread. I ordered with marinara sauce, which was tasty, but Alfredo and rose' sauce are also options. The dinner was very reasonably priced. The main downside was a limited dessert menu. I was disappointed that they were out of the key lime pie, but that saved me a few dollars and a lot of calories. read more
