Adult milkshakes are sooo delicious! Thanks Gary for always being a great bartender!

I absolutely love this place! I like coming just to the bar even if I'm not watching a movie at Alamo. They have the biggest craft beer selection I've seen in the immediate area and the bar tender Gary is always great about creating something unique and very tasty. It's a chill vibe and the music isn't too loud so you can actually hear each other talk. Seriously, try the adult milkshakes!!!

Favorite bar in Prince William County. It's attached to the best theater in northern Virginia, it's usually not busy, and the staff is great. An excellent beer selection, great happy hour specials, and trivia nights! The outdoor patio is great on nice days. Really, we mostly go here for a beer before a movie, but sometimes we go just to hang and leave. But the pre-movie brew at Ghost Fleet, followed by a movie where we are served delicious food doesn't get any better for a date night. Hands down, our favorite date night in the area. My wife and I love this place so much, we are just hoping it survives the pandemic. Our guess is that most folks don't even know it exists; otherwise it would be hopping. Please, support this pub! It's a gem in a sea of sameness.

Horrible food and service. This place was a one and done. There was no one in there and the service was deplorable.

Not bad, but not great either…read more The restaurant's ambience is truly modern and inviting. As someone who resides in Dumfries, this is a very welcome addition to upscale dining, and I was greatly surprised by the decor. I've visited many casinos locally and around the country, including Vegas, Atlantic City, Biloxi, Mississippi, and New Orleans, and I must say this restaurant's decor is on par with many of the other fine-dining restaurants. When I arrived at the restaurant, it was not busy at all. In fact, there were only a few people at the bar and another couple who came in at the same time as us in the dining area. While someone would look at this and be very skeptical, I took it as number one. I was coming on a Sunday night around 5:30. Number two, it may be early for dinner, and number three. I could assure you that my food would come out hot. My server was excellent. The service was terrific, which I had heard was the most mixed part of the experience previously, due to staff turnover and inconsistent service levels for a fine-dining establishment. Akeara was fantastic, I mean, truly remarkable, and coupled with the excellent management and leadership of Veronica Keller, they made the dynamic duo who saved my dining experience. Akeara was very well-versed in the menu and sensitive to dietary restrictions when asked about many of the ways ingredients were prepared. She was invaluable and well-versed in preparation methods, as well as in drink pairings and menu options, to ensure we had a great culinary experience. The food I really enjoyed the calamari. It was fried perfectly. The two dipping sauces were fantastic. The rose salad is absolutely a star on the appetizer menu. I was a little skeptical about the crabcake because the way she described it sounded more like a fried crabcake than a pan-seared one. I think had she mentioned pan-seared, I would have likely gone with a crab cake, but I am certainly not disappointed in the calamari, and again, the salad was phenomenal. The steaks were a different story. I think they marinate the steaks, although I got different answers from the server and the manager when I asked; however, the steaks were a great cut. I saw someone get the bone in Tomahawk, which is presented nicely, hanging from a hook, with the Chef coming out to torch butter over the steak and vegetables beneath. I got the New York strip. It was a very, very lovely piece of meat. The New York strip was severely underseasoned. In fact, I had to ask for steak sauce, which is a cardinal sin of any steak restaurant. I think had they used a little more salt, pepper, and garlic to finish the steak It would've been perfect. The cook was absolutely perfect, medium rare. The seasoning was just off. I also got the risotto and short ribs. The short rib was well seasoned, though so much gravy from the short rib almost covered the entire plate of mushroom risotto. Tasty but just a little disproportionate in presentation. The bread basket was terrific, and the honey butter was nice, though the bread had a slight cheese flavor. It was still a really good combo. The baked potato is by far one of the best values on the menu as a side item. It was large. It was hot and fully loaded. The creamed spinach was a little more cream-cheese-forward, and it seemed like the spinach needed a little something else and seasoning, so it wasn't as bland. The desserts were another story: the toffee cake I thought would look like something I would get at Hell's Kitchen looked more like a very crumbly cornbread with ice cream on top. The vanilla ice cream tasted great, but the cake was just OK. The crème brûlée was on another level. It was fantastic, creamy, full of vanilla, and had a great crunch from the Brulé sugar on top. What really made this meal so good was the service. I talked with my server about my dissatisfaction with the two lobster tails: I did not appreciate being told they were pulled from the lobster shell, and they were served cold and rubbery. The server immediately jumped into action, spoke with the manager, and had the lobster removed from the bill. Thank you so much. But what really impressed me was the time that both the manager and my server spent at the table. Veronica was truly a pleasure to meet. As a military officer who has commanded hundreds and been responsible for thousands, she really hit it out of the park with her ability to problem-solve and immediately address issues as they arose. She was very engaging and really a pleasure to be with. This dynamic duo, who've only worked at this location for less than 5 months combined, really made me say I will come back to the restaurant, assuming they may have had an off night with seasoning and timing in the kitchen. If there's anything to take away, the food is OK (3 stars), the service from this dynamic duo was fantastic, and that's why they got the four stars.

Shaudine was attentive, knowledgeable about the entire menu, and helpful in recommending dishes. Overall, we had such delightful meal experiences. We started with their Oysters Rockefeller, which included 6 good-sized oysters topped with creamy spinach and toasted breadcrumbs. Delicious! For my meal, I ordered the Tomahawk Prime Steak ($130). Although the restaurant is à la carte, the tomahawk comes with a medley of broccoli, fingerling potatoes, and multi-colored carrots. The meat was tender and flavorful, and the table side searing presentation by their Chef was awe-inspiring. Likewise, the steak and vegetables were complemented by tasty truffle butter. My friend ordered the lamb chops, accompanied by blackberry compote. We also shared the Brussel sprouts, which were also quite delicious and savory; cooked with onions and bacon. For dessert, we shared a lava cake with vanilla ice cream... and Chocolate martinis as an accompaniment. The restaurant ambiance was curated and sheik. Large, round booths with nice fabrics, well-appointed details and lighting, and a beautiful bar area with a backlit-lucite bar. A nice steakhouse feel. I would like to leave two recommendations: 1. The Bartender should ONLY tend bar... as the role indicates. Not also act as a server for tables beyond the bar. When those of us dining in the main restaurant order drinks, we have to wait for the bartender to finish serving tables before they can return to the bar to make drinks. That is not a good system. 2. There should be jazz or some other music playing in the background to drown out the incessant noise coming from the casino's slot machines (which are only steps away). Music would help to elevate the aesthetic of the steakhouse, while minimizing the casino noise. The manager did visit each table during our time, which was quite a nice touch. She also gave good recommendations on how to reheat and enjoy leftovers. Top notch!

Introduction to work-prospective of the start of Covid in March 2020:…read more Representing 2020, W is for Water's End Brewery, which I visited in the early Covid days in March 2020. This week in 2026 is the 6 year anniversary of when things were shutting down from Covid. On Monday, 3/16/20, I was very busy in the office preparing for roughly 80% in office/20% work at home (not counting any work travel) to 100% work at home starting the next day as virtual meeting company President said office is shutting down for the time-being. That next day, Tuesday, 3/17/20, I had work travel to Prince William County as we were trying to get stuff work done, and any day they could've shut their doors, which I think they did on Thursday, 3/19/20. They had gotten rid of the comfortable seating and had individual chairs spaced far apart and tape to stay 6 feet away from representative I needed to see. Any paper, etc being handed involved a bit of stretching, but we made do, and I got the work done. Experience at Water's End Brewery: My girlfriend of the time tagged along for my work travel. Before we got to my Prince William County work, we stopped for pizza slices in this same center for lunch. We saw Water's End Brewery out there selling beer to go since their indoor brewery was closed to the public. My g/f wanted, and I think we bought 2 beers to take to go. Staff was very nice, and the beer was pretty good. Conclusion: That Spring I had one more work travel to Prince William County on Friday, 4/24/20. Of course, the building was shutdown. They had a bunch of big drop-boxes outside, which someone would pick up once a day. Made my job easier except for the 2 minutes I was making sure I was putting in the correct drop-box. But a lot faster than going in to do the work dealing with the people. Also, on 4/24/20, I smashed the record for longest without getting gas, 38 days. I had gotten gas on 3/17/20 in PW County, and then 38 days later on 4/24/20 as the gas was very cheap in PW County then. Interestingly, as I write this today, 3/12/26, I'm currently tied at 38 days without getting gas (It was Mon., 2/2/26) & may go several days longer without. I would've never bet that break this Covid-era record in pre-retirement life, but I had major surgery on 2/9 & was in hospital for 16 days + a few days at home without driving right after hospital.

The Spot at Belmont Bay is officially our new brunch problem!!!…read more We went to The Spot at Belmont Bay this past Sunday for brunch, and I'm just going to say it: this is the best brunch in the area. Not "pretty good for Woodbridge." Not "solid little neighborhood spot." I mean clear-your-calendar-because-you're-going-back good. We ordered the Breakfast Board for Two, and it was exactly what brunch should be: generous, fun, shareable, and absolutely loaded. Eggs, bacon, house-made sausage, smashed potatoes, Belgian waffles, biscuit, gravy (so good), fresh fruit, Greek parfait, and pastries of the day all showed up on one board like brunch had assembled the Avengers. And here's what makes it even better: everything is made from scratch. You can taste it. Even the sausage is made in-house, which explains why it stood out so much. The smashed potatoes were seasoned beautifully, the scrambled eggs were fluffy, the bacon had that perfect crispy edge, and the waffles were golden with just enough crunch. The biscuit was soft and buttery, and the cinnamon roll situation on the side had absolutely zero interest in helping anyone make responsible decisions. Respect. But the absolute star of the show was the spicy Bloody Mary. Best Bloody Mary I've ever had. Full stop. It had real zip, great spice, and that pickle salt rim took it completely over the top. Salty, briny, spicy, savory, it hit every note. Add the crispy bacon and lemon garnish = forget about it!! The drink menu is no joke either. They've got mimosa carafes, mimosa flights, sangria, margarita flights, brunch cocktails, dirty sodas, coffee drinks - basically, The Spot looked at brunch beverages and said, "Yes. All of it." We also had a mimosa, and it was bright, fresh, and exactly what you want sitting next to a big brunch board. We also had the chance to meet the owners, and they were fantastic. Warm, welcoming, and clearly passionate about what they're building. That makes such a difference. You can tell when a place has real people behind it who care about the food, the service, and the vibe. The Spot absolutely has that. I liked it so much that I'm already going back for their bourbon tasting Saturday night, and then again for their Father's Day brunch on Sunday. Great food, great drinks, great owners, great atmosphere, and scratch-made brunch that actually delivers. The Spot at Belmont Bay is a winner. It's a cute small place so make sure you call and make reservations!
