We visited this place June 20th after shopping trip to Potomac Mills . The vibe is laid back, the staff was very friendly. I tried the "Strawberry Don't Haze Me Bro" and it was very good. I give this place only a three stars because the time we went they did not have any live music and this brewery does not serve food. I always forget to rate the places I frequent. This brewery is only a mile from my house and thankfully has great beers!! The dont haze me beers and their sours are my favorite but I also enjoy their other IPAs and the w22 brown ale. The staff is super friendly as well!! read more

I was heading home with a sandwich I bought near the office and thought I would stop off and have a beer and eat it with a beer. I sat at the bar and tried to get the bartenders attention to no avail. A couple sitting next to me told me they were regulars and suggested I really had to waive the bartenders down to get a beer. No luck there. They had a business in selling sandwiches and when a bartender walked right past me, one of the guys just looked at me and shrugged. The regulars next to me started to leave and a woman bartender comes up to say goodbye and was throwing them kisses when they were right behind me. Unfortunately, I was invisible. At that point, I was sitting 5 minutes without a beer, but she just ignored me and turned around to pour a beer. I asked if I could get a porter. She turns around and tells me in a rude tone "I'll be with you in a minute." I didn't ask her to memorize a novel for the love of god. I grabbed my sandwich and left. When i get to my car I realized I left my phone at the bar and went back in. I ask Miss Sunshine if could get my phone and once again, I get an attitude when she tells me "you could have asked more nicely." I sat here for a while to punish me before I got my phone. I will say it was a busy day but if you want to go somewhere to get a beer there are far more options in the area. Listen to their regulars that told me the service is bad. As someone who bartended for 15 years, they have what we used to call "bar stars." read more

Been here a handful of times since it's been opened but started coming back here recently. It's great having a brewery less than 3 minutes from my place. The most recent visit we had was because we got an email about the new Blood Orange Sour and the discounted Damn Beer so we figured why not. Pretty busy for a rainy Thursday night but we were able to secure a spot. The Blood Orange sour was pretty solid, (not too tart with good citrus flavor) and so was the Blueberry Mosaic we got. Couldn't pass up a $4 pour so we got those DAMN beers super refreshing. Went great with their snacks. Great pretzels and popcorn options. We're probably gonna start coming in more often. Very solid beer and just a great place to spend a few hours. Hope they have food trucks more often even though I like their bring your own food policy. read more

Water's End offers a nice selection of craft beers that are sure to please the most discerning aficionados. For fine IPAs to delicious, creamy stouts, you are sure to find your beer nirvana here. Enjoyed most of the beer but was especially impressed with the service. Small, friendly place, set in a strip mall so it's not difficult to find. The brewer was one of my servers so I got an extra dose of beer education. As with most breweries, their brews have a wide variety of styles and move quick, so whatever I tried on this visit may not exist next time. Growler prices were good too. I was vacillating between a 4 and 5 star rating, but the friendliness was enough to warrant the highest rating. When I visited they had 7 beers on tap (although 1 was technically a variant of another), but the pours were fairly large (6 ounces I think). If you're looking to sample everything, be prepared to stay a little while because it's almost the equivalent of 2 full beers. What I tried: Damn Beer (Golden Ale): Very light bodied; strong contender for becoming a 'flagship' beer since it's very drinkable. English Brown: Very malty; not sad I tried it but probably not a repeat. Was that sweetness in the finish? Zest Fest (Wheat Ale): Lives up to its name! Favorite of the day. Belgian style beer, orange peel notes. El Dorado (Pale Ale): Least favorite Adventure Hat (Black Ale): Very hoppy, big head. I'm not a hop-head so IPA-style beers seldom do it for me, and this wasn't different. Hop Drop (While IPA): This was the hardest to place. Yes it was hoppy like an IPA, but it wasn't really like other IPAs I've had. My server grinned at the look of concentration on my face as I repeatedly sampled it, and explained the unusual flavor came from the particular type of hops he chose. I...think Iiked it...but again it was so unusual it might just be my curiosity besting my taste buds. read more

There's no food program here but they welcome outside food and there's lots to choose from in this strip center. They have a bunch of picnic tables in a grassy area outside, however the ground doesn't look entirely level, maybe that just adds to the fun. I thought the bathroom could have been cleaner and better maintained. Of the three breweries my friend and I visited in Woodbridge this last weekend, this one was my least favorite. First off, this isn't at the water's end. Instead, go to the water's end. Then drive 2 miles to a strip mall in Woodbridge. The name is semi deceptive for a brewery in a place called Lake Ridge, but whatevz. The location isn't unique for a brewery. Its in a strip mall in an independent building so if you are looking for a cool view or something, this isn't the place. I like the inside vibe better than the cold echo-ey warehouse breweries, but not as much as the countryside ones. There isn't an outdoor patio which is a huge negative for a brewery. Now that we've got the location and vibe out of the way let's talk beer. When I went they had 5 beers on tap. I got a flight which consisted of 3 beers and the larger sized flight glasses. The beers were ok, but there was 1 that I really liked called Damn Beer. It tasted almost spicy, which the bartender said was from the grain and not peppers. Either way I liked it, and it stood out. I've been to like 50 breweries the last few years so a beer standing out says something. The brewery is neat and if it was near me I'd go back. But its off of I-95 in hoodbridge so sadly I may never taste the beer ever again. read more

Water's End is a nice addition to the Woodbridge/Lake Ridge community and it has lots of available parking, seating and tall tables. The tender told me that they ENCOURAGE people to bring in outside food. That's right- you're encouraged to bring in a pizza, or even have wings delivered from WingStop if you want. On the menu they have a few chips and pretzels, but they are a BYOF establishment (bring your own food.) For my first time here I decided to try a flight of three 6oz tasters. I looked over the six offerings they had and chose (from lighter to heavier- and left to right in the pic) Lemondrop- a 6.8% ABV single hop ale, the Damn Beer- 5.0% ABV described as "for when all you need is beer," and finally their offering of a Hefeweizen 5.1 ABV listed as light, refreshing, German-style wheat ale. With 2 tours in Germany and many trips to Belgium I dove into the Hefe first. Initially I thought it was very light- then after a few more sips I realized this was the German version of a Krystal Weizen Light. It has a nice aftertaste but I was looking for more of a bite than I got- even from a Krystal. But the flavor is nice. This isn't a heavy beer and for a 78 degree day in FEBRUARY...this hit the spot. If you're looking for a more traditional Weizen beer- this isn't it. But it is a nice lighter take on a Weizen beer it has a good but not overly hoppy taste. The Damn Beer: not quite sure about this yet after the first taste. To give me time I wrote the part about the BYOF above at this point so I could wait before a second taste of the Damn Beer. OK, there is a similar flavor to the Weizen there- and it isn't too heavy. Better than anything you'll find marketed by a team of clydesdales, it's a decent take at a good beer. I can see a tall cold glass of this Damn Beer being a great reward after cutting the grass on a July afternoon. Ok, maybe two glasses. Third taster was the Lemondrop. I have to say that after two tastes They must have gotten the name from the color- because I don't even get a hint of a Lemon taste. But as I rescan the beer menu I see that it says "lemony-citrus aroma with fruity and herbal notes..." (I should just give my man card to the bartender for even writing that.). Ok final thought on this one- it's beer, it has a flavor that's better than the average store bought commercial beverage in the same light yellow beer flavored category- but it didn't make me jump for joy. Next time I'll try the Monastic Twist- a double Belgian Style IPA 7.2, the Dillingham Abbey- golden ale Belgian that claims a dry finish, and the Imperial Porter. I'm not a porter guy, I may need my brother's help with that one. So- final thoughts on Water's End Brewing- nice place. It's doubled in crowd size since I started writing this review and the bar is full, as are the available tables. I'll be back for sure- and I'll bring a friend and a pizza next time. read more

I'm new to the area and was searching for a casual, personable brewery and atmosphere. Water's End did not disappoint! The staff was very helpful in individual beer recommendations and overall hospitable. The vibe is quite casual and fun, and even kiddos are allowed! Ok... so since my original review I have been back multiple times and even joined their beer club. The beers are very nice and the prices are great. I think they have the best "bang-for-buck" when it comes to 'brew club memberships' in the area... will be writing up a review on those in the future. So... I have come around since the first visit and glad I came back... and kept coming back. My only complaint I have at this time is the "Mom's Pretzels" they serve... I LOVE them... but damn!! 6$ a bag!!?? Arrrrggghhh!!! But... alas... I keep F'ing buying them... sigh... good thing the beer prices are reasonable!! read more

Beer's were good and all was fine until we were leaving. We were using a Groupon for "Beer Flights for Two" which clearly states the Promotional Value expires May 21 2021 and was on April 23 2021. We provided a credit card when we entered in case we were adding more than the Groupons\ Flights which we did not. We were leaving and had the credit card returned to us and then the Lady behind the counter was trying to say we needed to pay more she was saying the Groupon was like a gift card which is TOTALLY INCORRECT! The Groupon does state "The amount paid for this voucher ($13.00) with Waters End Brewery NEVER EXPIRES" which means if after the expiration date it still has a $13 value but prior to the expiration date it holds the Promotional value and we owed nothing more! Seems to me they were trying to get more money or just don't understand the Groupons stated value! Will never return to this place and be sure to tell everyone of our experience as it basically ruined the entire experience and we were both celebrating our 60th. Beware! read more

Their beer is above average quality. Several brews have made my favorites list. They usually offer one of their beers filtered through an extra flavor media (coffee, jalapeños, etc.) My only rare criticism on the beer is their tap list can occasionally be too limited. Once or twice I've been left wanting more than what was available. So the beer is good-to-great...but that's all your gonna get here. No food, unless you want a bag of chips or you order from a nearby restaurant. You can bring food with you, which I suppose makes your outing less costly. But if I'm going out, I prefer the destination have everything I want - both food and drink. If this place opens a good kitchen, they have strong potential for a five-star review, especially as there's not much competition in Woodbridge. read more

I cannot say enough good things about this place. We recently hosted a life celebration for a family member who loved beer ... so this place seemed perfect. The staff was fantastic every step of the way, letting us set up in a way that worked for us while not pushing out other patrons. Each employee was super respectful. Beers were yummy, and we loved that we got to bring our own food. We were even allowed to bring coolers of non-alcoholic beverages. What a fun way to toast someone's life ... WAY better than everyone standing around sad. Everyone had a great time. This is my neighborhood go-to. If you like cheap beer, i have another place to recommend. If you like really good craft beer, come here. They allow outside food if you really MUST eat (and at times we do). Have a seat and let them recommend something to chill you.
