The best thing about Long Beach is Dark Harbour! Made the drive out from Tacoma to check out this new tiki bar and it was so worth it. Lovely tiki ambiance, true escapism. You can sit at the bar or have a little booth. We opted for a cozy booth right in front of the fireplace and it was just perfect. We had five drinks; three were alcoholic ones and two were non-alcoholic, all of them delicious. Our favorites were the "dark harbour" (alcohol) and the "Nada Colada" (non-alcoholic). Appreciated that they had a lot of booze free options that are just as tasty and complex as "the real thing". Everyone working was so sweet and just enjoying their time as it got busier and busier. The tiki bar is dark and intimate, however they also have a front room that is bright and airy and better for larger groups. They also had food however we just had drinks this time. Do Not Miss this place. The best food, all around our table of 8, that any of us have had in a long time. We got a Poke bowl split as an appetizer. A-Flipping-mazing! So fresh, perfectly seasoned, and the tobiko exploded with flavor when bit into. Extraordinary. Next- most of the table had Gorgonzola burgers. Everyone agreed on of the top 3 burgers enjoyed ever. Cob salad... WOW. I am a self proclaimed Cobb Salad aficionado. This was the best I've ever had. The fresh made Gorgonzola dressing was perfection. I don't think you could go wrong with any of the cocktails. We had several different drinks with our group and were very pleased with them all. The ONLY downside, we had a 4yo & a 2yo with us. The restaurant is not terribly kid friendly. There is no kids menu and the girls were antsy and sure they were going to die of boredom and starvation. The staff was SO SPECTACULAR, they got us chips to quiet hungry bellies and made smaller cheeseburgers for them which they devoured happily. Go have a special dinner. 10/10 stars!!! As soon as you walk in you're transported into a dark and stormy tiki lounge. Drinks are on point, strong, and in themed glassware. If you don't like something they'll take it off your tab! We took food to go and holy cow delicious! Even heated up in the microwave the next day. Hot tip: They do food and drinks to go!! From the moment you step through the door, this place hits you with a STRONG tiki vibe. The attention to detail with the decor, lighting, and menu design is off the charts. This bar just opened a few months ago and the staff are already pros. The service was excellent and we got there early to ensure a table, but it would be fun to go back later in the night for a more lively experience. We were there for the drinks, but the food also delivered. I had the buratta and a boozy affogato (which may be one of my favorite things I've eaten all year). This tiki bar is very unassuming located near the beach but in a hotel parking lot. When you walk in you don't realize there is a tiki bar here. In fact it's a little hidden and you need to go around a corner and then....bammm....there it is in all its glory. It's well decorated with flickering lights and a dark theme and cute little pirate and tiki themed decor. Service is mixed. I think they have a few kinks to work out yet. It got confusing who took our order and they forgot some items and had to reminded. Drinks were delicious and strong! They have an outdoor patio area with fireplace as well. Staff was very friendly and our large party had a great time. I love the names of their drinks especially the one that is very very long in bane and fun to say. I'll let you figure out that one. If you want NA drinks that can do that as well and have several options. I'm very glad to have tried that place out. If I'm in Long Beach again, I'll wanna go back. Wow!! The ambiance is so cool and the theme of this bar sets it apart from everything else on the Peninsula. The actual bar area and seating is 21+ and there is seating when you first enter as well, which is nice for families with children. We really enjoyed our food and the drinks were made well. Hidden gem! This dark, fun, quirky, fabulous tiki bar had excellent service and drinks. Its adjacent to The Chataqua Resort and Conference Center. The staff is very knowledgeable about their many "rum forward" cocktails that come with really cool names and descriptions. Definitely a must see. read more

You CAN believe the hype! Dark Harbour is open and - as of tonight - serving food alongside their amazing cocktails. My wife and I decided to check out Dark Harbour last Sunday night (5/24). We were coming back from Fort George, and I suggested we stop in. "They aren't going to be open at 9:30 on a Sunday night in Long Beach. C'mon, man, " she said, laughing. They were open! We went inside and were blown away by the decor. When you first walk into the lobby, it looks like a quaint, coastal hotel. But as you move down the corridor toward the bar, you start to feel like something isn't quite right. Because it isn't. It's dark. The nautical theme is everywhere, but this isn't boat shoes and yellow rain slickers. Oh no! This is shades of Essex County, Massachusetts, circa 1928. The further you delve into the bar, the more mossy and clammy things seem. Seriously, the owners have done an OUTSTANDING job of decorating this place. When I first saw pics online, I did a double-take when I saw the statue the confronts you when you round the corner into the bar. Cthulhu?!? No doubt. There's a frikkin' statue of the Great Old One himself in the bar! The drinks were amazing, and everyone there was so friendly. I had the Devil's Reef (how could I not, I'm in an Innsmouth-inspired tiki bar?). It was excellent; a blend of citrus, pineapple, cinnamon and naval rums. I don't even remember what my wife had - she told our server, Becca, to surprise her. Whatever it was, she really enjoyed it. We got a chance to meet and talk to the owners, Robyn and Jason. Great, outgoing people. Honestly, I don't think I could ask for a better tiki bar experience in Long Beach. This is easily going to be a regular hangout! Our first visit was at the end of May. The tiki bar ambiance is a bit dark, although the decor is very fun and inviting. Service was slow, but they were newly opened, it was a holiday weekend, and we only ordered drinks. We decided to give them another try, so, about 6 weeks later, we went in on a Thursday for a whole meal experience. Our party of four each ordered a different entree, and two folks ordered drinks from the bar. One in our group tried to order an appetizer, but was told it was out of stock. Our food took a while, but not a crazy long time. Two of us enjoyed our entries. While not mind blowing, both thought they were pretty good. The other two were disappointed; and thought their food was bland. My husband needed something, but no one checked in on us. He went up to the bar, where he was ignored for several minutes while one server scrolled on his phone and the other mixed a drink. He waited patiently and eventually got what he needed. After our food was served, the staff neglected us completely, never once checking to see how things were going, never refilling water glasses, or even asking if we wanted to order another drink. We finished our food, and since no one seemed to care, we piled our plates at the end of the table, The server who eventually cleared them didn't bother to ask how our food was or if we needed anything else. We had planned to order desserts, but at this point, just asked for the check. The server brought a handheld payment device over and presented us with the total only. I had to ask her to see our receipt before making payment. We had desserts somewhere else where we didn't feel so neglected, so they lost the extra sale. Would I try them again? Maybe in a few months. I'm hopeful, but they need work, especially when it comes to customer service. read more

This was absolutely the best meal and whole experience I've had eating out in I can't even remember when. And my husband and teen say the same.The intimate, dark tiki/pirate? Voodoo? environment, almost like the pirates of the Caribbean ride at Disneyland, with the most interesting jazzy surf music. So many special touches, no details spared! And the food was so over the top delicious we were blown away. Gourmet. Unexpected in a bar/lounge, late night dinner. The We shared the Poke tuna bowl and the Cobb salad, and they were both loaded with special ingredients and flavors. Then we shared a chocolate pudding pot and a crème brûlée (topped with flaming rum!), again so good. Great drinks as expected, abysmal service. We waited over 45 minutes, including having no service whatsoever for 30 minutes after having our last round dropped off, before calling it quits and leaving. While I was closing out at the bar the server who took our food order was asking my wife if we needed anything. My wife told the server that I was closing out at the bar and she only replied with an "oh, okay," making no mention of the food order she took but never delivered on. read more
