Rating is strictly for their Service Department: my car had a recall fixed this week. Everyone in the office was friendly and I was greeted right away. They offer a shuttle or a nice waiting room filled with complimentary snacks and waters. They also had a charging station for cell phones / electronics- nice touch. I was told the service might take 1-2 hours and they updated me multiple times and were true to their original estimate. read more

Do not trust them at all. Get a second opinion especially for larger dollar repairs they claim you need. Also went because my battery kept dying on me having to get it jumped only for them to say it's operating at 12.29V so it's good! Nope it's not! Went to an auto place and they tested the battery as only operating at 1/4 of its power and they said below 12.4 is bad. But not at Kia because they don't want to stand behind warrantying a 1.5year old battery that went bad. I won't be buying a Kia again not getting any service from them. read more

I've been a loyal Kia owner for over a decade and never had issues until dealing with the Frederick Kia dealership. In 2022, I purchased a brand-new Kia Sorento, and just eight months later the vehicle began having major mechanical problems. Since then, the transmission has been replaced five times. Each repair required my vehicle to stay in the shop for a month or more, which significantly impacted both my personal life and my business. Throughout this entire process, I was dealing with these repeated breakdowns and extended repair periods while pregnant, and later while caring for a newborn, in addition to traveling with two other children. Despite being aware of this, the dealership never once showed empathy, flexibility, or concern for how severely this situation affected my family and day-to-day life. Most recently, while my vehicle was again in the shop, the dealership provided a rental vehicle that also broke down. I was originally told the tow would be covered. Later, I received a text stating I would be responsible for the tow, with the explanation that the rental shut down due to low gas. AAA confirmed this was not the case, and I personally verified the vehicle still showed approximately 20 miles of fuel remaining. When I went to pick up my vehicle, the situation escalated further. I was told my car would not be released unless I paid the fee. While my husband was on speakerphone explaining that a dealership cannot legally withhold a customer's vehicle without a valid, disclosed repair charge, the service representative assisting me, Ado, laughed and walked away while the legality of the situation was being explained. When I was again told I would not receive my vehicle unless I paid, I contacted the police to document the situation. Management later stepped in, acknowledged the fee should not have been applied, and released my vehicle. After I left, the service manager accidentally called me while discussing me and the situation, believing she was speaking with someone else. During that call, she questioned my reaction, despite being fully aware of what had taken place earlier. That call further highlighted the lack of professionalism and accountability throughout this experience. In addition, the primary service advisor I dealt with, Jack, was consistently condescending and dismissive, which only added to an already stressful situation. This dealership's handling of my vehicle and the way I was treated--from service staff to management--was unacceptable. After 14 years of Kia ownership, this dealership has single-handedly destroyed my confidence in the brand. I would never purchase another Kia and strongly advise others to avoid this dealership. read more

DARCARS Kia of Frederick - Car Dealers Near Me - Frederick, Maryland

Bought a used vehicle there in April. Saleswoma, Destiny was very nice to work with. That is the end of my positive dealings with the dealership end. They were supposed to email things they never did and then changed their stories. The car turned out to be a lemon. Their service department messed up my appointments several times before telling me I needed to go to a Hyundai dealership for service. The also didn't do services I requested and paid for. I've reached out to them multiple times about the issues with the car and no one returns my calls or emails. I absolutely do not recommend this dealership. read more

We had a great experience at DARCARS. We had Joseph as our salesman and he was so great and honest! I would definitely go back to see Joseph at DARCARS! read more

I'm relenting on a 1-star review only because the administrative clerk is extraordinarily helpful and offers exceptional customer communication. Beyond her excellent service, if you can purchase your next new or used vehicle elsewhere, you should!! In addition to being repeatedly lied to by the sales manager, the credit manager refused to honor our agreed upon deal if I did not pay the sales person commission. As a business owner, it's always been my responsibility to pay my staff. Shame on you! Should the people with DARCARS read this review, I'm notifying you that a formal complaint has been filed with the Maryland DMV. Good luck with that. read more

I had my car repaired at Kia Frederick. They did a wonderful job. Jake was outstanding very knowledgeable about the auto business and I spoke to the mechanic: I was wonderful. I left a message with the general manager. I was about my experience thank you everyone read more

Was on the market for a new preowned car and saw that Darcars had one that had everything I was looking for, plus was reasonably priced. Kamisha, the sales consultant who I met with, was friendly and genuinely helpful, and the only reason this dealership gets any stars at all. Because after the pleasant initial meeting with Kamisha, another lady (sales manager?) came out to meet with us to discuss pricing, as in, pysch! The actual price for the car was $2000+ more than the list price, and that's not even counting taxes, registration, tags, you know, the actual fees we're required to pay. No, this lady somehow thought it was justified to charge us extra for the pre-sales maintenance done on the car, as well as their sales commission, and some other bogus fees I've never seen from other dealerships. Told her straight up I wasn't paying for any of that crap, and that if these "fees" are required for their dealership, they should've been part of the list price, and not do this bait and switch crap. She had the audacity to respond that because she was charging everyone for these fees, she couldn't remove them for me. Good to know that they're ripping everyone off equally right? Anyways, I ended up going to a different dealership that didn't play stupid games and got a car I liked even more at a better price. Tldr; Darcars is the definition of a sleazy dealership. Don't fall for their bait and switch tactics, they'll try to jack up the final price of the car with all sorts of bogus fees that you should not be paying! read more

On the plus side they got the Sorento my wife wanted transferred from KIA in Laurel When Hagerstown and Winchester KIA could not. However, they just waste your time with Bologna procedures for hours. My delivery appointment to sign and drive was 5pm and it was 630pm before they had the paperwork ready, after having all day to be prepared. WORST of all Kia requires you download their creepy stalker tracking app as a condition of buying a car. It took me a day to figure out how to delete their crap app from my phone. Love the vehicle we got, a candy apple red 2023 Sorento prestige hybrid, drives as nice as any Mercedes Benz GLE with same options for 1/2 the MB price. Love KIA vehicles but every KIA dealer rapes you on service maintenance prices and buying is a preview of coming attractions if you die and go to hell. I felt terrible for the F&I woman, she's only 6 months in the car biz and way in over her head on paperwork doing a job most dealers won't let anyone with under 5 years car dealer experience do. Bottom line KIA makes great cars and their dumbest MBAs management class in America automotive industry make their dealerships operate like an out of control dumpster fire, read more

Although I trashed this place earlier in the week, since they were the only dealer who had the SUV my wife was in love with (within 100 miles), she went back and was treated very well. She made a deal with Destiny, the young saleslady, and August the finance lady was also very pleasant. Now, if they answer their phones when I call, all will be good read more

This is the worst dealer I would never deal with them again. All they care about is the sale and that's about it. The KIA dealer near Tyson's is far better and customer obsessed. They fixed my problem with ease that this dealer would not. I leased a car from this one and it has been a night mare. I have bought a lot of cars and this one rates the worst - giving them a one star is to much read more

Their pricing online says one thing but when you get in the store you'll find that their prices are marked up substantially. We were looking for a Kia Carnival, when we got there for our so called appointment we found that the van was marked up 10k over MSRP. When we asked about it we were brushed off and told "you're not going to find any place without a mark up this high." We walked away and also found other dealerships that did not mark up as high as they did. A waste of 2.5 hours because they were behind and disorganized at that read more

THIS IS NOT A BUSINESS THAT IS TRUSTWORTHY I wish I could give them 0 stars. I just found out my KIA Optima's engine has a major flaw where it loses oil quickly and the check oil light doesn't come on. I was down 3 quarts of oil within 5,000 miles without knowing it. This dealership acted like they didn't know it was a problem and gave me the run around about how KIA would cover it under warranty. After a lot of research, I now understand that this isn't true and that KIA has not honored hundreds of Warranties (I'm sure it's more, I quit looking at complaints after a while). This dealership is NOT loyal and is making this my issue and not offering me any help in resolving it with KIA. They basically are blowing me off and acting like its not their issue. They also tried to take advantage of me and talk me into buying another KIA. They are trying to tell me that it is not their fault, and pointing their finger at KIA. BUT, they knew this was an issue with my car and sold it to me anyway. They gave me an additional slap in the face by offering me $1,000 for my car. This is my fourth KIA from this dealership, I would have thought they would have assisted me in getting my warranty honored. I won't buy another KIA and I definitely won't buy from DARCARS. I'm a business owner, and I would never treat my clients like this and wouldn't even consider selling faulty products. When it does happen, I fix the issue and don't blame my suppliers. My goal is to have happy clients. read more

Upon responding the customer relations message here, I spoke to a very attentive staff member who listened to what had occurred and advised that she was going to escalate the matter to the corporate level. The staff member advised I would be contacted by a Manager. A short time later, I was contacted by the manager who was apologetic and advised that he would be taking steps to understand what occurred, and to change the environment at the used car sales department. The manager was candid, and provided a measure of relief that he would speak to all parties involved to ascertain what actionable corrections he has to take. I hung up feeling that the upside to this incident is that this will not occur to someone else, and that the experience will be a one-off incident going forward. read more

My experience with this dealership was absolutely amazing. I was welcomed in and treated like family. Brian Berkman was polite, knowledgeable, fast, and professional. Brian set us up with a test drive in a matter of seconds. Not to mention how fast Brian, Constantin, and Ali got my vehicle appraised in such a timely manner. I always hated buying cars simply because I was at the dealership the whole day. This Darcars which is run by Constantin Nico is a well oiled machine. They respect your time and are very honest with you. I test drove a 2022 Kia Telluride, had my vehicle appraised, signed some paperwork, and was driving my new car home after spending less than 2 hours at the dealership. Highly recommend Constantin and his team. read more

DARCARS Kia of Frederick - 2022 Kia Telluride S - Car Dealers Near Me - Frederick, Maryland

I'd like to provide an update to my initial review. While I do still feel like I was price gauged by being charged 14k over MSRP, the follow-up service to repair all of the issues we've had with our Kia has been top notch. They have gone above and beyond to try to make right all the things that have gone wrong with my Prestige. They have sent a driver 1 1/2 hours away 3 times to pick up my vehicle and provide me with a replacement vehicle so mine could be repaired. The WiFi was such an issue! I was about to give up on having WiFi in my vehicle, but Valery at Darcars Kia was determined to resolve this issue. She spent countless hours trying to make this right, and I truly appreciate. I now have functioning WiFi, fully functioning doors, and a repaired seat. All service issues have been resolved as of now. read more

Made an appointment on Saturday May 23rd to see a Telluride and Sorrento. Showed up and was greeted by Brian. Instead of showing the car we requested, he tried to push a Kia Sportage on us. When we asked him any question about the cars, he didn't know the answers. Overall, very unprofessional experience and had no knowledge of the cars. Will not be back! AND NO ONE WAS WEARING MASKS in the office!!! read more

I arrived at dealerships and asked about the Telluride and was told they just sold the last one. When asked about the next shipment coming in I was told 9 would be arriving on June 1 and that 8 of them were sold. The sales person went on to ramble on about the different trim packages and how many thousands of dollars each one was being sold at over sticker price, he even said the highest rated trim package was being sold at 10K over sticker and they would not even let people test drive the Telluride. This was the biggest load of BS I have ever heard. This is a KIA not a Lamborghini!! read more

I had the pleasure of meeting and working with Vivien this morning. She had messaged me the day prior to set up at appointment and confirmed the car I wanted was available. I arrived early and was greeted immediately by Vivien. She was polite and friendly. She was knowledgeable and sociable. We talked, joked and laughed about many things while we waited for the finance department to get everything together. Once everything was signed and complete She walked me to my new car, where she sat with me and helped set everything up with the infotainment center. 5 stars! Love reading all the positive reviews of this place, sounds like we weren't the only ones who were EXTREMELY SATISFIED! The Team at DarCars Kia of Frederick were there for us when we were being snaked around the local dealerships here in Northern VA. "Demand Fees" in excess of $5,000 above MSRP and ridiculous other fees were being added on when we went to talk about pricing options here in VA. This did not happen at DarCars. After a short call with Brian and Constantin I shared my vision on what would work, if it was possible, and how to get everything done in a timely fashion. Throughout the course of the day, Constantin and I exchanged a few texts, as he began filling in pieces of the puzzle and getting us the best deal possible. By 5pm we were in an uber on our way to the dealership positive we would leave happy. When we arrived we were greeted by their TEAM, all who were happy to say Hi and Welcome in. Long story short, they had all our paperwork lined up, and after a short discussion with Daniel (in Financing) he gave us a VARIETY of options to see what would best fit out needs. We chose which one we wanted and once that was done we were out of there within an hour. 1 HOUR. Can you believe it? Thank you to Daniel, Constantin, and Brian and your whole team for all your support and positivity in our search. You have gained a customer for the long term in our family, and we can't wait to spread the good word about you all to our friends and family. read more

They overcharge and add extra fees to the cars available on the lot. some of the cars are marked up to an excess of $5000+ . I walked into this dealership with no hope at all because I had been looking for a car for several weeks and no one wanted to give me a chance. I first met Zack Jones at the door of whom was also talking to the wonderful finance officer at the time. Thank you very much for all the understanding and help that you two provided. Great place I will tell everyone about you and how you helped me. read more

Horrible experience! I was lied to the minute I got on the lot. I know salesmen want to sell cars, but I'm not an idiot and I don't like being treated like one. When it came to negotiating for the car, I didn't feel taken seriously as a woman. I shouldn't be called sweetheart or dear when I'm in a business negotiation. And the chuckles anytime I asked for anything made it really uncomfortable. And worst of all, they sold me a car that WOULDN'T PASS INSPECTION!!! Despite having told me it passed inspection and was good to go. I shouldn't be taking my car into the shop right out of the dealership. And a weird side note, the salesman had about 30 cards for an Italian place he kept trying to recommend. Clearly he's up selling another business in the area too. Absolutely awful!!! They will do anything to take your money. read more

I called Darcars Kia of a Fredrick MD enquiring about a car they had online, Chloe helped me through the process and gave me all the information I requested. Unfortunately the car I called about was sold the next day. Who could blame them? The car was in great condition and at a fantastic price. She went above and beyond keeping me updated with any potential cars that were within my price range and the specific make I was looking for. She called again to follow up yesterday but I had already purchased a car. Her customer service was perfection and I really appreciate her making me feel like a valued customer and not just another sale. TERRIBLE! It's been two weeks since my family and I went to see about purchasing a Sedona and still haven't heard a thing! Sales department has the worst customer service. They mail out mailers stating they can do this and that, but it's a crock. I purchased a Kia Optima around October 2016. Brian the sales man was excellent, however, the service representative lady Debbie - always had/have an attitude. Mark the manager is serious but helpful. I don't know why when you go to purchase a car, everyone is so nice and cool, but when you need service or there are issues with the vehicle you purchased, they act like you are their enemy. This is just ridiculous. I won't take my car there at all for service. I will take it for warranty issues but if she gives me hard time, it won't be a pleasant conversation. I was planning to get another car from there, but noticing all this issues, I will go to Montgomery County or maybe get me a Hyundai. I hope Bill Baisey speaks with her about her attitude and no customer service skills. I like to respect everyone and i expect the same, specially when they took my money. read more

Took my car in to service the UVO unit which completely failed last week. This after I had taken it to my mechanic who told me that they were well known to fail, and that a patch had previously been sent out by KIA for UVO units, to try and deal with the problem. What this means is no phone, no backup camera image, no radio. My mechanic suggested I contact Kia to see if it would be covered by the warranty. I called them, and they told me to take it to Bill Baisey Kia. Mark Defibaugh, the service manager, informed me that I had to replace the entire unit, as it was the 'radio' that was the issue, and Kia only warranty it to 36,000 miles. My car at the time it stopped working had 45,700. Coincidence or planned obsolescence? Yet Kia warranty everything else to 60,000 miles. When I questioned this, and pointed out that it was a known problem, and not just the 'radio' he strongly denied it, saying the internet was full of complaints. He ignored my mechanics information. Mark Defibaugh the Service Manager was EXTREMELY RUDE and obviously ignorant to issues Kia is aware of, which is why they had previously sent a patch for the unit. Do not use them. Obviously trying to rip off the consumer with bad attitude when challenged. read more
