The aftermarket part I'd ordered online was not programming properly so as a last resort, I was on the hunt for an original Nissan part at a local junkyard (the dealership was charging over $300 for the part). The friendly and knowledgeable staff was awesome! Kudos to whoever's idea it was to use old bus seats in the waiting area! :-) Although the place was rather dated (that classic junkyard feel), it gave me the comfort of a trusted and established business. They accept cash only and do not offer refunds. They guaranteed my part for 90 days and I saved over $200! I installed the new part and it works like a charm! I highly recommend this place.

I asked if it was a family business due to the level of service. She replied that it's two families that feel like one big family. It certainly feels like that, and they seem to endeavor to treat customers like family. That's going to make me a regular here. Well a regular when it suits me. More often than not, these guys have the cheapest gas prices in town where you can still use a debit/credit card (as opposed to cash-only discount stations). This may be because they are battling it out pricewise with the gargantuan 24 hour gas and deli chain down the street. The upside here is FULL SERVICE pumps if you prefer to stay in your car, rarely ever any long lines at the pump, easier in and out onto Rosemont, and a certified mechanic on duty during the week if you need any vehicle repairs. They always have some sort of wild novelty lighter for sale on the counter inside -- they make perfect gifts for the cigar smoker or pyromaniac in your life! Plus basic soft drinks, packaged snacks, and ultra cheap cups of grease monkey java in the morning! The only downside I can think of is that you cannot pay at the pump, but it doesn't seem to slow me down that much to pay at the counter. But it is easy to forget you have to pay afterwards and I've almost driven away w/o paying twice! Doh!

10 stars! This guy's a killer mechanic and super honest too…read more I live in Northeast DC and recently had an ignition issue with my truck that prevented me from even being able to get it started. Rather than shell out a bunch of dough to have the truck towed to the nearest mechanic, it turned out to be much cheaper (and convenient) to have someone come and fix the issue on-site instead. Long story short, Ronnie drove out to where my car was and within the span of just a few hours managed to: replace a busted ignition lock cylinder, refill my truck's freon/oil/wiper fluid, recharge my battery, and do some lock-out magic as well. He was punctual, friendly, clearly knew his stuff, and didn't try to sell me on anything that I didn't need. The rate for labor was good too ($85 an hour). I'll definitely give him a ring again if I have any more mechanical issues.

I found Mount Airy Motors years ago and knew that I had finally found a truly honest Automobile…read moreRepair Shop that strives to do the job right every time they have worked on any of my own or my Children's vehicles. Today, I would give "Mount Airy Motors" and their New Shop in Westminster, MD, "Superior Car Care", 10 Stars for owning up to a mistake made after my Sons Jeep had the Brakes replaced last week and his Jeep broke down yesterday, with a bad Alternator in Westminster at the Chick-Fil-A near his home. I can typically do simpler repairs on vehicles outside of the engine, due to my training from the Carroll County Vo-Tech, so I loaded up all my tools and met my Son at his Jeep, so we could replace the Alternator yesterday evening after buying a replacement, except no matter our efforts, we could not get the Lug Nuts Off any wheels and could only budge 1, but it made a sound that I thought if we put anymore weight onto the new bigger tire iron we bought, that we would break the lug stud. My Son was understandably upset, because it is so hard these days to get things done correctly, and I was upset myself, but knew that the owner Ted, was a Very Fair and Honest Tradesmen. I called Ted this morning and after explaining what happened, he told me his guys are instructed to tighten all Lug Nuts to 90 in.lbs, which makes it possible to get your wheels off your vehicle with the tire iron that comes with your car so you can replace a flat tire. Ted let me know that he had a new Automotive Repair shop in Westminster, MD and he would send a guy over to meet my Son to check the Lug Nuts and take them off so we could work on replacing the Alternator. About 15 minutes later, Ted called back and told me that the Lug Nuts were indeed over tightened and that he had sent a stern warning to his Mechanics, as well as that he would take care of the problem to get my Son going again. Once I heard this, I knew that Ted is good for his Word and waited to hear back from my Son. My Son recently messaged me that "Superior Car Care" had taken care of everything, which included swapping out the bad Alternator, which I had not expected, but had instructed my Son to go ahead and have them replace it, since it's at their shop. Obviously, with Mount Airy Motors and Superior Car Care, something that appears to be a Curse, will turn out to truly be a Blessing.
